Was a beautiful view and we were so excited to enjoy some of the cocktails until we were told they were going to charge me £25pp for booking a table for food, when we only wanted cocktails. They didn’t give me an option when booking. We decided we may as well eat here instead of wasting away £50, and the menu was awful for those with certain dietary preferences; I am vegetarian and there was only one option for me, we made the choice to leave, and the girl behind the desk changed my booking to ‘cancelled’ so I was going to be charged the cancellation fee of £50!! Girl behind the desk was so incredibly rude. Just ensure when you make a reservation, it’s for the correct seating or be prepared to be charged £25pp. Terrible service, although the view is incredible but cloud23 is certainly a better option.

I looked at the location and the menu and thought ‘wow’. Then the dresscode came up. This place is not accessible for neurodivergent travelers.

Everything was perfect, and the place itself was one of the best things in Manchester with a espetacular view of the city

Inconsiderate staff. Went to washroom for 10 mins tops and they cleared our table even though we had left our bag and other belongings at the table along with our barely finished food and drinks. They charged us the bill without even letting us take off the service charge. Would only recommend for the view nothing else is good here.

I’ve been to 20 Stories more times than i care to admit over the years, for lunches, dinners, and just drinks and always had a fabulous time. The food is good quality without being too pretentious and the drinks are well made by the bar staff. The review is prompted by my most recent trip last night, where I took my family for the first time. Wanting to show them one of my favourite Manchester hot spots, I didn’t think about the fact it was a Saturday night in the run up to Christmas. My primary school age daughter found it a bit loud and there was nowhere to sit but the staff spotted us wondering and found us a quiet table in the dining area. It was that simple act that made me realise something I’ve always know but never acknowledged, the staff are what make this place. A really great team of people. Plus the views are awesome!

Excellent service from the doorman to the waiting staff all friendly and smiling. Food is mouth watering good. When booking, try to get a nearby window to enjoy the best view

Dined at 20 stories for the first time and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent from starter to dessert and we enjoyed a chilled ambience throughout. The service we received from Rachid was first class and he simply couldn’t help us enough. Lived up to the hype and we 100% recommend 20 Stories

Elegant restaurant. Panoramic view of most part of the city centre. The ambience is good. Food is above average but the prices were on the high end.

Booked a table and they had no record of it when I get there, eventually got in and had to sit at the outside on soaking wet seats! We moved inside to the bar as was too wet. Ordered our drinks and only to be charged £36 for service charge even though we were stood at the bar, £14 &£15 for a cocktail which we were happy to pay but the service charge, be careful folks, overpriced while the view is nice, you’ll pay £16-£17 a cocktail

We came for a work party and it was lovely! Notably, our experience was made excellent by Nancy, Christina and Holly who were very attentive and super friendly all night. They went above and beyond for our group, which can't have been easy as there were a lot of us!

Worst place I’ve ever been. Great views, but it ends there. Charged and absolute fortune for horrible microwave food. Didn’t touch the starter or pudding. Wouldn’t feed this to my dog. Will never be going back. Place is a complete con. I’d be embarrassed to run this place and claim to serve food. Make sure you’ve got a few hundred pounds spare as you will be charged for everything expensively. Just get the air free as on top floor.

The view is stunning, and we enjoyed the food. However, it’s quite expensive for what you get: £16 for one glass of red wine, for example, is very steep. In total, we spent £250 for a dinner for two, which included three courses and two drinks each. Additionally, we felt a bit rushed: the courses were served quickly one after the other because our table was needed for other reservations, and even before we received our dessert, we were handed the bill and told that we couldn’t stay any longer. Furthermore, there were many (drunken) guests misbehaving, which was quite disappointing.

It didn’t live up to our expectations. We told immediately after seating down that we 1 hour 30 mins so needed to order our food despite the fact that we were waiting for someone else who was parking the car. And we were still waiting for the drinks. Food came ages later and it was cold. Lobster was rubbery with only fries nothing else for the price we paid it was a disgrace. Despite being rushed earlier on food took ages to come. This place is over hyped and it under delivered. Despite all this we had a service charge of nearly £40, it’s unbelievable to say we were forced to eat at 100miles and hour, cold food and not enjoying the food.

Went with my daughter for her 30th birthday. All very fancy, amazing views, good service. Starters and pudding very good which bringsy score up to 2 stars instead of one. Probably if we had not had the lobster would have been 4 or even 5. Unless you are pretty wealthy and do not give a damn about value for money, don't have the lobster!

As a veteran and 3 work mates to be refused entry with no reason but we were 4 males is disappointing if we where 4 females we would allowed in. Because We are a mixed group over 20 we where instantly dismissed thanks .

Great place for a "before party drink" can't beat the view

Nothing wrong with the food. Just decent grub cooked perfectly, just nothing to write home about and nothing I'll remember a week later. What makes this place is the outstanding service, immaculate location, great ambiance and amazing views. If the food was raised from Gastro pub level to Michelin level, it really would be the place to go.

Just to see Manchester from above

I have never written a review before but this is without doubt the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Walking into the place is unreal. Like a nightclub rather than a restaurant. You have to force your way through the crowd of Love Island wannabes pouting for selfies to get to your table. We were given menus and then after 10mins picked our choices only to be told by an abrupt waiter that half of what we ordered was unavailable. Piss poor. Starters of prawns and scallops arrived which were nice. The main meals of cod and spatchcock Poussin came next and I genuinely think that I could have cooked better food. Unbelievably bad. We decided not to have dessert because the food was so poor but we had half a bottle of wine to drink. The waiter who had not poured wine into our glass all night brought us the bill and told us that we had to leave the table in 5 mins. At no point were we asked how the food or our experience was. There was a huge queue outside of pouting nobodies so I'm sure as a business it will continue to do well but if you want a decent restaurant experience then I would avoid.

A high-altitude restaurant suitable for couples to have a drink. The dishes are not wrong, the overall taste is good, and the environment and atmosphere are also given full marks. The only drawback is that the cost-effectiveness is average.

Visited last week with my wife for a drink after Christmas shopping, we had been a few times before and had enjoyed it, hence returning. We left feeling ripped off, how can you justify £25.50 for 175.ml glass of wine and a 2/3 pint of lager UNBELIEVABLE!!! Won't be going back soon.

Came here a few times now and loved it each time. Very nice views all round which is really cool day or night. Drinks very nice too, and a few different cocktails with a slight twist. Service is good but weekend evenings it's quite busy so have to wait a little. Worth it though. There is an outside area too with booths that can be booked. Great place, I'll be back here a lot and recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic views across the city from the 20th floor.

We had an anniversary dinner here and had a wonderful time! The pre-theatre dining menu was amazing value (3 courses for £37.50). The food is really high quality and the portion sizes are decent, they're not too small despite it being a fine dining restaurant. They also brought us an extra dessert with an anniversary message written in chocolate on the plate - a lovely surprise! Would recommend going on a weekday so it's less busy and you're more likely to get a table by the window.

Wowser! If you suffer from Vertigo, then keep away from the windows/edge. Fantastic drinks choice, feel like you're a celebrity 👌

Amazing venue, excellent service. In particular Kumar was very attentative to use, always knew what we needed before we asked. Constantly topped up our drinks made sure we were ok. 10/10 would reccomend. Stellar service from an amazing restaurant the first time we dined here.

I can’t actually review my experience because we were refused entry at 22.40pm. Told the bar was “closed”. Bookings for drinks only aren’t facilitated so thought we’d try our luck. It was my 30th birthday and we fancied a post dinner drink before heading home. The doorman was beyond rude. Initially refused to open the door at all, before proceeding to do so only to deny us entry. We went next door to The Ivy and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Unless service style and standards have dramatically changed here, being refused entry at 22.40 is weird.

Whilst the views are fantastic, the service was unfortunately very poor. Sat at the bar in eye line of the staff and yet they chose to serve 2 large groups who came after us. Disappointing as this was highly recommended by friends to visit in Manchester.

The food was very delicious and I really liked the atmosphere, everything was absolutely beautiful! However, I did not enjoy the service so much. As we arrived, the first thing the waiter told us is that we only have limited amount of time. We weren’t just told this once, he told us that we have limited time about 5 times! This was quite unprofessional. Yes, I understand that it was a busy Saturday evening, but we just wanted to enjoy it. Other people from our group were a bit late, but we ordered as soon as we could order. Our food took about an hour to be cooked and then we were supposed to eat in hurry, with the waiter telling us we have less and less time left. It was supposed to be a very nice evening, but it was ruined by the service. We also had to pay extra, for the service, which is pathetic with the service we got. I understand that there could’ve been troubles before with this, but this is just unfair and unprofessional service.

Excellent food, young atmosphere

Came for a couple of drinks and was served by Holly. She was amazing, very welcoming showed us to a great spot to sit and looked after us while we were there. She is a great asset and made our visit thoroughly enjoyable!

The venue and atmosphere are some of the best in Manchester but for the price point i have had better meals else were but none the less still excellent.

Fabulous restaurant, amazing menu and great wine list.

Came for a birthday. We ordered some starters and sides and a couple people had mains. They then came back saying you can’t order starters without a main and it was on the T&C’s. the steak was very very chewy. Not worth the money. The other roast dinners were basic at best. Wouldn’t recommend.

Very unfortunately I found this place being overhyped for what it is. Service was not great at all. We’ve been waiting for over 15 mins just to get water on the table, the waiter was not willing to ask chef to make some changes to a dish, waited for side that has been “dropped on the floor” so the fillet was getting cold, none of the sauces were served until reminded third time about them, never received the salad however been charged for it. Quality of food was good but nothing spectacular. Very unfortunate that a place with such a price tag doesn’t value customer experience

We had 3 course meal and drinks and had an amazing time! Got a table near the windows. Then spent the rest of the night outside space behind the bar. I definitely recommend 👌🏾 especially for birthdays and special days.

Lovely lunch spot, a favourite in Manchester

20 Stories Saturday Night I was in a party of 5 people who went to 20 Stories for a meal at about 7.30pm on Saturday 2nd November. The food and service were excellent as usual. However the environment in the restaurant was not to our liking. The atmosphere was that of a chaotic nightclub rather than that of a comfortable restaurant. The music was so loud it was difficult for our party to talk to each other. The bar area and foyer were so crowded it was difficult to get to the toilets. I have previously visited 20 Stories several times but always Monday to Wednesday nights when the restaurant was much less noisy and the experience was much more enjoyable. If you want to eat without the continuous thump, thump, thump of loud electronic music (it never stopped for the 3 hours we were there) and you want to hear the other people at your table then I would avoid 20 Stories on a Saturday night.

All was perfect. My husband booked a blackout event and all food was served at candele lights. Nice live music and amazing food.

They couldn’t find my reservation. But they helped our. Order came wrong and our friend waited 10-20 min. Atmosphere is in amazing.

They've forgotten the most important part of a good restaurant is the customer service - I've never experienced such rude people (sort your staff out). They were initially rude to my friend on the phone and then I turned up for a drink before the theatre and they told me I couldn't have another chair from a table (it was empty in there too) and then walked away and left me standing whilst my two friends were sat down. They were just so rude and I couldn't have been nicer. I think they've tried to make it fancy so now they think they're better than their customers 😆 also £20 service charge....for what?!? They can't even reply to people separately they have an automated response ... I'm sorry but this is no 5 star restaurant. GO FOR THE VIEWS GET TAP WATER AND LEAVE. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Booked a table for two. Arrived earlier than expected but the friendly staff said wasn't a problem . The view from the 20th floor is incredible and yes ! You can take photos. Menus available were the Al a Carte and the Menu of the day; 2 courses for £29.00 or 3 for £35.00. We chose the Menu of the day: Pan fried salmon and the " flat iron" steak. Our 2nd Menu chose was the " deconstructed cheese cake". The food was cooked to perfection and we'll definitely return. Staff were friendly and very efficient. Stunning views so don't forget your camera.

Booked the Private Dining Room for my partner’s 40th Birthday. From enquiry through to the night, Hannah was incredibly supportive and efficient in ensuring the night was planned meticulously. On the evening, we were taken care of by the wonderful Julia who was attentive and engaging. The Private Dining room is a beautiful space with great food to match. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

I visited with friends as part of the start of a birthday celebration. The place is a beautifully designed place and all the team we encountered were friendly and professional. We only visited for drinks as we had reservations elsewhere for dinner. Be aware drinks are on the expensive side 3 drinks are going to set you back £50-£60 pounds. My other feedback would be there is limited seating for drinkers. None the less we enjoyed our visit.

I used to live in Washington D.C. There is a place there names 12 Stories, one of my absolute favorite spots to hangout with friends and chill. When I discovered 20 Storie here in Manchester I was very excited to explore it, and let me tell you it exceeded my expectations. It combines stunning panoramic views with a sophisticated atmosphere. the restaurant features modern decor with floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing diners to enjoy the city skyline as they indulge in a contemporary British menu. The cocktail menu is inventive, showcasing both classic favorites and unique creations. Service is generally attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. While the prices are on the higher end, the exceptional quality of food and the elegant setting make 20 Stories a perfect choice for special occasions or a memorable night out.

Visited for cocktails before heading next door to the theatre. Very lucky with the weather so able to sit outside and enjoy the Manchester views.

Had a lovely scenery however the music wasn’t amazing and I thought it was so overpriced for what it was (£17 for a pornstar)

Dress casually. Make sure to reserve in advance. Nice atmosphere though a bit crowded for my taste.

Food cold over busy had to wait 30 mins for table had to stand by a window told to wait at bar 2 cocktails 34 quid partner had prawns to start with 4 prawns on plate with half a gallon of sauce in pots on plate which took half the plate up complained to management who then took the huff main dish sea bass came with chips with truffle and parmersan cheese (all they was was fries and cheese like you get at TGI S for 3 times the price food cold they was too busy to cope in my opinion for people .we bumped into at least 5 couples who all said the same overrated over priced food like you'd get anywhere else .. very disappointed as it was our birthdays too which was very uncomfortable and embarrassing..

Last week, we visited 20 Stories upon the recommendation of my friends, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant and warm, with a stunning view. The menu is carefully curated, offering a rich variety of both local and international dishes. The food we ordered was beautifully prepared, and the wine pairing was perfect. The professionalism of the waitstaff and the way they presented the food were particularly impressive, with every detail meticulously attended to. The desserts were equally impressive, with elegant presentation and delightful flavors. After dinner, we moved to the garden area, where we enjoyed cocktails while taking in the incredible view. The music selection was another well-thought-out detail that enhanced the overall ambiance. Overall, 20 Stories is an excellent choice for celebrating special occasions or simply treating yourself. It’s a place where you’ll truly feel valued in every aspect. We will definitely visit again!

This place is so overrated and over priced it’s unreal. Nothing to look at but cranes because of the all construction work being done in Manchester. Plenty of other chic stunning bars in Manchester that out rate this place by a mile. Nothing worth a visit.

Service was slow and the food mediocre. Very different from our experience a year ago. My friend's champagne was accidentally upset all over her by a member of staff. The glass of champagne was replaced but there was no offer to pay dry cleaning and no reflection in the bill. When I commented on this to a member of staff, I was told that a manager would be in touch. One week on, I am still waiting!

We came here for a birthday and it didn't disappoint. The food and wine were fantastic and the views of the city topped it all off. I would definitely recommend it for a special occasion.

Worst service and Rude behaviour

We arrived and were told to take a seat outside if we wanted drinks so we sat down and ordered a bottle of LPR via the QR code. 30 minutes went by without any service or any staff coming over to ask if we would like serving, dispite multiple staff members being on the floor and walking past. I then went up the the bar to raise the issue, to which I got told to wait as they served someone else. They had prior knowledge of the cheque but did not explain why it had taken 45 minutes to receive my drinks and . It wasn’t busy and unsure why the service was so appalling. Not one server came and spoke to us within the 30 minutes of waiting. As a OM of a hospitality group in the northeast I would be embarrassed if that was the level of service my staff offered.

What a view over Manchester and beyond. This is a lovely place. Excellent service and great drinks. Inside is very classy. It's a posh spot in the sky

First time here and definitely not the last. Our server Florian was outstanding from start to finish, extremely helpful and attention to detail was what made the experience faultless. The steaks were possibly the best steaks we’ve ever had and cooked exactly how we asked. The cocktails were also lush! This place is pricey however you absolutely get what you pay for, we will be back for another special occasion!

The place is one of the most beautiful places and views in Manchester. The place is very elegant, the food is average and the prices are very expensive

Experience was good but I expected more from the service. The drinks were great, refreshing and well balanced. The food was amazing. However our Anniversary experience was unfortunately spoiled by the service, our server (I believe he said he name was Kumol) greeting us well but was a bit too intense for us. We had been recommended a cocktail from 20 Stories by a friend that used to work there but what was most bizarre is that when we chose this drink the waiter said "just so know, you may not like it because it comes with egg white and will smell of egg." I've worked in hospitality 8 years so we laughed it off and gave him the benefit of the doubt by jokingly saying "you're really selling the drink" but we were so taken back by why he'd said this. Two of the drinks that I wanted to try they didn't have the ingredients for either so the waiter said "we can do this for you but it won't be the same." We had originally booked for what we thoughts was a drinks booking but we were seated in the main restaurant which was great as we had a lovely table but we didn't want to eat. We were then told by the waiter that if we didn't eat some significantly big dishes we'd have to be moved to another table as it's restaurant policy. So we were inevitably forced to eat food we didn't want. Maybe this policy could have been made clearer through the confirmation text or phone call in some way? We had a nice complimentary anniversary plate at the end of our short meal but the experience wasn't overall very good unfortunately and left us with a sour taste when leaving. From working in hospitality in the Spinning Fields area and being a neighbour to this business I hope this review is received with the best intentions.

the website states they close at 11:00pm. However, the security guard says he has instructions to NOT let go anyone upstairs after 10:00pm which says it’s the manager rules. Its completely ridiculous!! @General Manager (@William Gomis), ensure your website has the right closing times and be transparent!

We've been there for drinks only and I have to say that the club is spectacular. The view is amazing. The only thing that left us a bit concerned is that we sat on a table outside and no one came to take our order so after 15 minutes we decided to go to the bar. Said that, the drinks were amazingly served and we had good time.

Vibrant crowd and atmosphere with good views of the Manchester city centre. Service was pretty good but I personally reckon it can be improved, coming from a hospitality background myself. Enjoyed the food and drinks, a tad expensive but not too overwhelming. Worth at least a try.
