Amazing place with simply superb coffee. Some of the best I've had in the UK. Guy 100% knew what he was doing. Amazing stuff.

Nice coffee (definitely the best in herne bay) and the food is fresh and wonderful - all made on site. I had spicy tortilla this morning and it was excellent!

Best coffee in Herne Bay! Have been coming here since Matt & Jen opened - have coffee every day they're open, and sometimes a banana loaf slice with drizzle (delicious), or, as toay, a gorgeous Marguerita pizza - lovely! Can't recommend 49 Mortimer Street more strongly

So glad we found this place. Absolutely delicious breaky! Pizza for breakfast, why not! The place had a lovely edge to it with authentic recipe! The Matty’s special breakfast muffin was also delicious, so yum. I think the whole place is actually very underpriced if you ask me! £14 for 2 yummy curve coffees, a juice, slice of pizza and muffin! All homemade too.. banging. Highly recommend

Love their variety. Had the best pulled pork breakfast bagels and Vietnamese inspired wraps plus amazing coffee. Can’t wait to go again!

The food here is amazing - inventive recipes and combinations of food that just seem to work so well.Plenty of choice for vegetarians too.I've always had great food here and never had a bad experience.It is a small place, so pre-booking is probably a good idea.Very friendly service is also a highlight here. P.S. Best coffee in Here Bay too!

A very cosy little shop, the staff were lovely and the tea was fantastic. So cute and the sausage roll is sooooooo tasty!

Coffee at 49 is amazing and there is always something delicious to eat. Have visited several times after walking from Whitstable and never fails to please. Will definitely return!

We have visited this lovely friendly Family run Restaurant over several years. serving mainly British food, but we have the Veggie option.Chef cooks two Veggie Nut Roasts which are both outstanding, and that's the opinion of several very particular long standing Veggie's.Warm and friendly staff and atmosphere. Best to pre-book, as it's that popular, but they will make good efforts to fit you in.Highly Recommended; and easily found at the top of Mortimer Street.Ronnie Rollo.

The food Matt produces here is second to none, we love it. Great coffee and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. It's quirky and great to sit outside with the dog. The only place in HB I'd visit!

A modern coffee shop in Herne Bay with first rate coffee roasted locally and excellent home made food that changes daily. Matt makes excellent flavours and the home made cakes are always lovely. Very friendly atmosphere, nice and sunny window to sit in. Always worth a visit.

Friends had said to go here...so we did on a bank holiday and what a lovely place, we had panini’s ( 1 veggie and 1 not ) they were so tasty, great service from a guy with a great sense of humour. We will return.

If you are having A walk along the seafront take a quick detoured to this lovely coffee shop and eatery. You’ll find a lovely relaxed atmosphere, really great coffee and an ever-changing selection of interesting lunch menu and sweet treats. I have eaten at 49 several times & Would highly recommend it.

Lovely little place to enjoy a hot drink very friendly great green tea in a pot and the best ever sausage rolls haven't tasted a sausage roll that amazing for a long time . Will definitely visit again also coffee smells amazing

I love this place. It has great coffee and a great menu. It changes day to day and he puts together items i could never dream of but I always love anything I get (and i’m a picky eater). I defo recommend to all but if there is more than 5 people going might be worth calling ahead and checking there is space as it is quite a small place

Quirky micro coffee house offering nothing but quality. From the coffee to the food every moment spent at this establishment was class.

I love it in here, the menu changes everyday & it has fresh homemade cakes. The coffee is good the service is super friendly. There’s also local stuff to buy from prints to BBQ’s. Lovely spot for lunch.

49 Mortimer Street is really one of a kind. The food is great and the service is great too! I like the idea that the menu changes daily. And it is great to have something different in Herne Bay. And you can see the owner really has worked hard and believes in his company.

really sweet place with great coffee. our daughter loved the toastie and assorted sunglasses on the table. beautiful spot in the sun too

A lovely spot, we enjoyed the sunshine whilst having a delicious toastie - spinach, chicken and sweetcorn salsa and great flat white. Very friendly staff too .
