A Tasca in Peterborough

It is my favourite Portuguese restaurant in the UK. The only place where when you eat you feel and taste like if you are in Portugal. A lot of other places lost that with time.

Fantastic tasty food with a family environment, suitable for any occasion. Portuguese/African flavour! Reliable place that never lets you down. Missing Dna Maria’s touch but still great!

Can't recommend enough... fantastic place to eat, great food, great service

First time I visited A Tasca and it was a truly incredible experience. As soon as I entered, I immediately felt a return to my origins, I smelled the smell of cod roasting on the coals, but I ended up deciding on a francesinha that I hadn't had the opportunity to eat for some time. It was the right choice and it was fantastic. I recommend it and I will definitely come back AAA+++++

Excellent food, customer service and atmosphere.

Great food, one of the best I've had in 10y in the UK. We've had one of the best fish dishes ever, Seafood Cataplana and Ameijoas a Bulhao Pato. The quality/price relationship is HIGH. The neighbourhood isn't exactly pristine, but fortunately as soon you enter it's a whole different world, so very well worth the 1h trip from Cambridge. We will be coming back, no question!

We decided to try your restaurant after seeing it from the road. Peterborough has some great places to eat but for me this is the best! Nice atmosphere, excellent food and the staff looked after us. We can’t wait to go back again…

Favourite restaurant in every way! The service is fantastic, food is to die for. Definitely make sure you go there hungry as the portion sizes are large! Definitely order the house red. Portuguese experience from the wait staff to the chefs. I feel more people should know about this gem in Peterborough!

Warm welcome & delicious food. The portions were great! The calamari and gambas were perfectly tender, the coal grilled chicken and skewer were superb. We even bought some cheese to take home. Thanks again for a lovely authentic experience!

I organised our team Christmas lunch for 11 people here. I provided a pre-order for our main courses. The food was ready shortly after we arrived and the service was friendly, attentive and phenomenally efficient. A great time was had by all. We also ordered several desserts. A fantastic experience that I cannot fault.

I recommend enjoying a little (but excellent) atmosphere, the experience of the Portuguese people, a ray of sunshine in the middle of the cold in the UK. By the way, I LOVED the clams à bulhão duck, here’s a tip👍

Way too hot which becomes uncomfortable but food and staff amazing

I just waltzed in and I didn't have a reservation, it was my first time. The whole place was fully reserved but I loved how they treated me with respect (of course they thought I was fluent with Portuguese 😂 but eventually got that I was 'Anglaise') and they kindly told me there was no space. They offered take away and I took it..and even gave my son a lollipop.. Got home and my taste buds had stars. One meal is always enough even for two and it was well packaged and remained hot till I got home.

Very good food , our first time in the restaurant. We had a Portuguese steak cooked in garlic and it was absolutely lovely, it came with salad rice and chips with a fried egg on top, everything was cooked very well ever so tasty...

A restaurant where you can enjoy good Portuguese food in Peterbourgh. The staff is very friendly**********

Couldn’t fault the food but I felt we were rushed to eat and go. As this was a Saturday night out for 4 of us , we were in and out in an hour. Certainly not a relaxing restaurant.

Great Portuguese food, reminds me of my home away from home. The portion size is what I would term typically Portuguese, so come to eat and have a full belly after!

Where do I start… the Bitoque was very nice, the medalhões na pedra, bife Acém, everything was amazing. Costumer service was so good as well… very funny waiters, the desserts were out of this world too. I felt like I was in Portugal. If you miss Portugal, i definitely recommend you to come here. Thank A Tasca!

A bit expensive comparing to before. I guess it's the inflation... The beer had no gas , we had to send it back and ask for the bottled one. We paid 86 pounds for 3 people. No desert. And just 2 starters. 3 main dishes, 3 beers and 3 expressos . So yes expensive. Sadly, I'm not going there so soon.

My family and I prefer to have dinner at the A Tasca restaurant because it is a time when we can always be together having a family happy hour. It is also very pleasant to share friendships with co-workers at dinner at Tasca. The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is very beautiful and organized.

As is now, more than evident, the quality and service of this Brand always surprises the expectations. It was my first time on this "new" A Tasca, not for a full meal, more like a dish I normally ask when I'm not that hungry and as normal I know that I can enjoy it here. Couldn't be more impressed, design, decor, quality and service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Tasca was nice restaurant loads of seating area and place you can enjoy the Portuguese cuisine and super bok draught beer. Interesting display of cakes and fish dishes as come into the entrance. Friendly staff but, they say there is sometimes live music and watching of football from Portugal.

If you allow me, make an amendment to the Menu... where it says "Monkfish and Prawn Cataplana" at £29.90, please amend it to "Potato Cataplana and Clam Shells" as the fish doesn't exist... ridiculous and you lost a client !

Very good. Everything is very fresh and always served with great attention and friendliness.

Food is awesome, it has never lost quality over all these years. I did find it to be a bit more expensive this time. But the food it's totally worth it. Overal it's a yes for me. I will go again. Just be mindful of the cost before you order.

Unfortunately, the cataplana for 2 people came to the table half empty. I immediately showed dissatisfaction but nothing was done by the house to please me and my partner. Dinner finished and very dissatisfied, the boss who served us with some arrogance suggested we go back again and order 2 cataplanas. I don't recommend it and I certainly won't be returning.
