Aagrah in Wakefield

Great food and friendly staff, my favourite place.

Less quality, too expensive, didn't worth the price.keep us waiting more than an hour. Not communicating well.

We did not enjoy the taste of the food, prices are also high compared to quality. But the biggest problem is food poisoning we had next day. We are family of 3 and all of us were extremely unwell. Upset stomach and other symptoms typical for poisoning. Will never back again.

I used to go to Aagrah Doncaster on a weekly basis. I was gutted when that shut down so now I have to travel to Wakefield to get my fix of Aagrah. This Aagrah is good but does seem a bit tired with the décor etc. The food is good but just didn't seem to the quality of Aagrah in Doncaster. The place must only survive on takeaways as me and the wife had the entire restaurant to ourselves. There's no atmosphere but if you want a good curry then I still couldn't recommend anywhere else.

Rubbish quality of food, I couldn't even eat it after having a bit and bin it after, I had lamb biryani and it was smelling so bad, the meat was not properly cooked, they don't know how to cook a lamb.

As always, the friendly service and amazing food has kept us coming back over the years! and long May it continue ♥️

We have just ordered for delivery. The curries looked like powder and oil mixed together which had then split back to oil and powder unless mixed. These were then flavoured with spices, my korma was spicy?? Chips are wedges, not chips Everything just tasted off, like they’d tried to cover up the tastes with spices. Not much garlic on the garlic naan The onion bhaji was more of an onion ring. We have used these so many times in the past, however we certainly won’t be using them again. Very poor quality

Very less dishes in buffet food quality was rubbish seems the left over for the week starters really hard and burnt wastage of money and time. Never recommend at all

Visited here 21st march for my birthday back of the building where carpark is is a big let down mucky went inside seated to a stained table cloth,should have lefted then wish we had the food is bland no taste Very expensive place there is alot more nicer places to go than here recomend tandoori hut lovely food and staff Would not go to aargrah again if they said it was free staff are not friendly at all very disapointed its not clean either We have had a upset stomach all night

Had two meals here in the last month and really enjoyed both evenings. Beautiful food. Staff are very professional, friendly and approachable. Really lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Can highly recommend.

Food is good just as not as good as the one in Garforth

We come here regularly. A friendly restaurant with marvellous food and a lovely ambience. Service makes you feel that they care for customers and they are always willing to respond to special dietary requirements. The buffet is extraordinary but we have never had anything but a good meal. Our go to restaurant!

Had a meal here to celebrate a family reunion and really enjoyed our time here. The service was exemplary. The decor, music and ambience were all lovely. The menu choice was excellent and the food was plentiful, well cooked, and could be adjusted to suit different tastes on request. Really enjoyed it.

Ordered online from Wakefield restaurant and waiting 2 hours and 20 minutes for the delivery. Phoned 3 times for an update.

Lovely food and great service. I had a balti paneer and it was lovely, so was the rice, naan and poppadoms. Would definitely come here again 👍😋

Restaurant now looks like it was falling apart outside and decor inside looked like it hadn't been updated in 20 years. Service was slow. Food was swimming in oil and not up to much at all. Then the bill arrived and it was a lot of money for one of the worst meals at a curry house I can remember.

AVOID !!! We got a take out & the food was inedible, disgusting !! Pretty Expensive too. Just think twice before ordering or going.

One of my favourite curry houses. I’ve been visiting here for 25 years or more but I won’t be going back too soon. The food is really expensive but the drinks are massively over-priced. £23 for a glass of wine and a jug of lassi feels greedy. The service was fine and the food was delicious but didn’t suit all parties as it wasn’t quite as described. The chicken tikka masala was nice but certainly not chicken tikka masala and it had some meat (lamb?) in. The lamb Achar was outstanding, as always although I’ve had better from here in the past. I’d say this restaurant is on the decline and that’s, at least in part, because I rated it so highly before and it is still a decent, albeit overly expensive meal but it’s not a premier destination for that special occasion. Far from it, actually. I would choose elsewhere next time.

Pickle tray nice but chips garlic naan and chicken tikka masala all tasted of grease won’t be going again last time I came here was around 5 year’s ago and it was lovely

I've been to Aagrah a few times over the years and sadly it's lost its touch. It feels outdated inside and doesn't have much of an atmosphere. It definitely needs a bit of an update. The food is nice but a bit overpriced unfortunately. But not bad overall. However, my main grips is the labelling of items on the menu, which is pretty tragic. I ordered a peshwari naan and it came with basically an entire bag of raisins dumped on top and quite literally zero coconut on/in it. It's a bit of an offence to call it a peshwari naan really. It tasted ok but it's not what it says it is which is the main thing! A similar thing happen with my main as well which wasn't clear on what meat was in the dish. Would I go again? Maybe if someone I knew really wanted to go, but otherwise I would venture out and try a new place instead. It's worth mentioning that the staff were very nice and the service was on point!

Went with friends and the food was fantastic and authentic and very reasonably priced. The staff especially the owner are wonderful people who have a passion in their business. Probably the best asian cuisine outside of Bradford-will definitely go again

Great food as usual at Aagrah, room really needs an update. Not a patch on Doncaster Aagrah.

Christmas lunch disappointed Although we had booked 3 month previously our table not ready for nrly an hr after time Food wasn't that nice and not much of it either having to wait but not much on offer and it was only luke warm. For the price very disappointing won't return or recommend for Xmas lunch Also had to question our bill as we were over charged

Visited last night for an impromptu treat for the better half and child. We had three curries, a couple of sundries and desert. Food came our quickly, was hot and tasted really fresh. Everything we ate was delicious and good value for money. The staff were really attentive, super polite and had a good laugh and a joke with my son. Smiles all round when we left, will definitely be back again!

Impromptu meal for 2 on a Thursday night. Entrance is a little tired, but on the whole its very much a pub turned into a restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient, mixed veg starter for 2 was hot and very tasty. main dishes of Balti and shahjahan were really fresh and of good quality, naan breads both good too. All in all a decent curry house, aagrah always a decent standard can't go wrong really!

Asked the waiter and he said he just brought it out from the kitchen. Don’t wanna to argue with him. Because is only like 2-3 yards away from our table to the kitchen. Some of the starters seem to me are microwaved. Main course some are just warm too. Especially the naan bread. Won’t be going back.

Very disappointed with food. Service was ok. But curry was not fresh. Do not order chicken soup! Absolutely disgusting. Soup was like a normal curry… I would not recommend anyone.

Food was excellent, service was a bit slow. Place itself very very tired, definitely needs a make over.

Great for takeaway at the moment if a little expensive

Tried a takeaway about 2 years ago and wasn't impressed so kept away until this weekend and decided to give them another chance. Ordered a chicken dansak, lemon rice, sagg side dish and pickle tray. It was just under £19 and it was the worst meal I've had for years. Don't waste your time and money !!!

Very warmly and friendly service,food is always excellent very tasty what we order never dissatisfied,just wish it was nearer home.

I have eaten many times at various Aagrah branches, but this was disappointing. Gobi ghosht, the meat was dry and tough and there was not enough cauliflower. Also I asked for it to be very spicy, and it was not at all. The dish was over oily. Maybe this is not the best Aagrah branch.

First time visiting this restaurant used to go to the Denby dale branch which served average food and service.Dined here with my family it was an excellent experience from start to finish very friendly welcome we got shown to our table the waiter greeted us and gave us a option of the buffet or normal menu we all went for the buffet the food was great,the service was good.I expected the same quality of the Denby dale branch but i was wrong this was much better highly recommend this restaurant the only negative I have is the desserts they were plain cakes from local supermarket

Dined here before wasn't a very good experience as the food and service was poor thought I'd give another go.The restaurant was busy as you would expect on Christmas Eve we did realise they have decorated the restaurant again and also they have employed some new staff we got seated straight away service was excellent quick and pleasant the food was awesome had great time glad I gave them another chance will return again thanks guys x

sido comer aquí durante años, y tengo que decir que la calidad de la comida ha ido cuesta abajo. currys son saladas y honradez hay mejores sitios por la zona para ir. No se que se apuran por todos lados. Creo que pusimos pegados al tandoori Hut en Barnsley. Eso es un viaje que merece la pena por mí, ya que la comida es fenomenal. Lo siento Aagrah, pero que se quedaron en el estándar.
