Abra Kebabra in Croydon

Called to make an order which we were unsure of, asked this lady what she would recommend for chicken - shish or doner and she replied ‘ I don’t care just pick one ‘ in the rudest manner, have been a customer of there many times now but not going there again. Just damn right rude !

The best chicken doner I had in 3 years!

Horrible service from the female worker, me and my friend went to get kebab. However she was overcalculating our total price, when we tried to help her calculate the price she raised her voice infront of other customers. Disappointed!!

Unfortunately I did not have a pleasant experience at this kebab shop. I gave my order to the male worker and he was welcoming and nice as staff should be. However when it came to payment they said it was cash only, there is no signs of card payment not being accepted in store, which is very misleading! The female worker ruined my whole experience and I will never return to my local kebab shop. She miscounted my total price by overcharging and when I told her that is not correct she raised her voice, raising your voice to a customer is not acceptable. Despite me trying to calm her down by not shouting back she carried on provoking me. She did not apologise for this behaviour either, so disappointing!!

Always great food, I've been coming here for more than 10 years now. The lamb shish and chicken shish are great in taste and always soft and tender. The workers always have smiles on their faces and treat with good care.

Worse Kebabs we have ever had and the chicken was like rubber and pasted in lard and the chips were a joke to be honest as they were fried about 4 times and burnt so they obviously recooked the chips a few times. Would not recommend at all. Just being honest.

Just brought a takeaway, chicken and lamb doner and lamb shish. It was ALL great, I have been searching for a good place in a while this will be my usual spot from now on. Please dont change the quality. Thank you

I ordered a small kofte from Abra kebab. it was quite delicious, just big enough for dinner. Also, the salads are very fresh. I believe that they respect this job they do and their customers. Thank you

Food is good as usual, but the service is a bit eh. They welcome some customers and they don’t for others idk why that is.

the driver couldn't find the property and was walking round and round for about 20mins, when he called he literally couldn't speak a word of English, not a single word, so I had to go out and get my food. No English, so needless to say, no apology either. This was a £30 order!!!!!!!!

Abra Kebabra is hands down the best place to get a kebab. Everything I have tried from their menu tastes fantastic. The lamb doner meat is perfect.. cannot be beaten! Same with the chicken shish, so much flavour and always perfectly cooked. Food is always fresh, portion sizes are quite big so very good value for money. I am also a big fan of their chilli sauce. Lots of flavour and a decent amount of heat. Staff are always friendly and polite. Same people have been running this place for many years and the quality of food has remained very high.

Best kebab ever - esp kofte kebab

Very poor hygiene very poor manners Should. Not be open in Shirley both this and the fish and chips next door are rude and disrespectful and deserve no praise for there ridiculous prices they charge and for when they don’t offer no homeless people food They should be named and shamed. Kebab there is left in the pot and served to you disgusting

Used to have the best donor meat in Croydon but it's not nearly as good now

Didn’t add chilli sauce to kebab but charge £1.30 for a pot of garlic sauce.

Most kebab wraps are a lot of vegetables. The meat is not very tasty and probably of poor quality

Bought lamb shish and lamb donor kebab for the first time from here. The food was good but the service could have been more friendly and with a smile.

Great food used this shop for years

Check your menu for chicken sish. Description says chargrilled peppers and onion. Item was delivered without. I got a refund of the whole meal because of this small error. If the description is wrong, it’s your mistake.

Overpriced for the quality of food. Update: Thank you (Owner) for your reply, yes you are correct you haver seen me in the shop a few times over the past few years, hence in my experience; the food quality has gone down and the prices have increased! also thank you very much for providing me with the push to stop my visits. I don’t tend to like leaving reviews however this place has left me with no choice but to leave one, I ordered food to collect they said 15 minutes which was fine when I went to collect the girl was very rude to myself and a friend and refused to hand me the food I paid for I’ve been going here for years and won’t be going again or recommending this place because of the owners daughter they have lost a loyal customer of 15 years I guess I’ll be buying my family meals from else where now

Loved the chicken doner my mates had a quater pounder and was really good chilli sauce was really nice and spicy

We had falafel it was 7 pounds and had only three small pieces and a whole meal was missing and when it was delivered it was very disappointing will not be ordering again

The meat wasn’t cooked properly or nice , the chips was the best thing and only little bit of them £15 on a meat and chips never again in this shop.

It stated or was meant to. Be delivered between 19.15-30 but got here just gone 8pm not good at all even the restaurant was not happy and called me to apologise

I asked for garlic sauce and did not get any. The chicken chunks are too chunky and not having the sauce made it feel dry and with little taste. Please make sure you read the order well

Love Abra Kebabra. In my opinion the best kebab shop in the area. Bit on the expensive side but think that's kebabs in general. That said, the quality and quantity is well worth it.

Truly disappointed!! Purchased from here since a prior review only issued praises for the restaurant but never again! The chips were fine but the kebab was burnt, the chicken burger rubbery and the bun hard! I have a requested a refund for those items from Just-Eat! Will never purchase from here again!

Probably one of the worst lamb doners I’ve had. Extremely fatty and greasy (low quality it seems) which was made worse by it being undercooked (very light brown). Their ‘famous’ chicken burger was just salt and pepper. No seasoning. Chicken shish was ‘okay’ at best. Chilli sauce was just tomatoe purée. Not chilli by any means.

These guys produce well tasty food, we regularly eat here as it is one of our favourite takeaways. The food is high quality and reasonably priced.

The food has gone down in standards. The meat kebab used to be nice they have definitely downgraded the products or supplier here the meat kebab just tastes very cheap now. Very sad as this used to be my favourite. Avoid.

Quality Kebab from a local Turkish institution...

Recently tried this Kebab shop after my local one really let me down. Decided to try different ones in the area. The staff were friendly and the food was really nice, good quantity, decently priced, the whole family enjoyed it, this will be my new go to kebab shop hopefully the standard is maintained & consistent :)

Just ordered a kebab from them as weve had them twice before and they've been lovely. However today as I opened the box for the chicken doner i was hit with the most disgusting smell, it was rancid and smelt awful. the other kebab with chicken also smelt bad, it was clearly off. Immediately threw everything into the bin including the chips because i was completely put off after that and lost my trust in the shop. Such a shame. Put in a complaint to deliveroo, they said they would contact the place to ensure this doesnt happen again and got a full refund. Mistakes happen but sadly will never trust this place again.

Haven't gone anywhere else for Kebab since I discovered them, really friendly staff and the foods always cooked so well! Their kofte is my favourite, can't get that flavour and texture elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit, do not miss out.

Me and my Russian friend Ben visited this shop Saturday night, the last time we went was 17 years ago. 17 years ago.... can you believe that ? There still the same person serving, and wow can I just say, the best kebab we had for a very long time! The place is still the same how we remember it. And we knew the place well as my friend Ben lived above the shop in his younger years. The shop actually hits abit of a soft spot because it brings back so many memories of our childhood. Keep up the good work Abra Kebabra! 10/10

Too expensive for what it is and doesn't taste that much good. They don't even ask you which size you want just they make the food and after they charge. I think would be great if you ask from before and explain you just accept cash.

Shish Kebab delicious well cooked nice chill sauce only thing pitta bread was soggy by the time I got home next time I will ask for the meat and salad in a box and I can assemble kebab at home.

Thought I'd give this place a try as I've driven pass it many times and it had been recommended to me by a friend. Had the Box Special and it was ok I suppose, I didn't think the chicken kebabs were as good as my usual kebab place

Tried this place after recommended by a friend and it was worth the visit. Quality of the food was nice and tasted good. It was slightly expensive than other kebab places but that's ok as long as the food is of good quality.

Staff are amazing and the food is the best. You have to try their burgers aswell. Freshly prepared and better than other shops.

For those who enjoy a proper kebab shop, this is for you. Kebabs are served in paper rather than polystyrene trays and for me, are better for it. There are some evenings where a large doner kebab is needed, it maybe not be what the doctor ordered, but I did. And I feel better for it.
