I loved the vegan platter here! They were even able to modify it for me to be their most mild offerings for vegans (I’m pretty sensitive to hot/spicy dishes, Of which a lot of Ethiopian is!) I was very thankful they were also open early on Boxing Day, when I arrived after a long day of travel. Very friendly service too. I’ll definitely be back during my trip as I’m staying nearby!

A really cool experience. We had no clue about Eritrean food and just took the meat/ veg shared plate for two. You eat with your hands or pinch the food inside the wraps that come with the food. Only downside was that it was very cold inside the restaurant

A wonderful lunch served by the very sweet and helpful Miron! We had one meat combo and a vegan combo for 2, both of which were absolutely delicious and very filling. We also had a bottle of honey wine, which was gorgeous! Thank you for a very memorable meal. We will definitely be coming again!

Food was very tasty and yummy, with nice atmosphere.

Although their prices have increased significantly, the portion sizes, particularly for takeout, have dramatically decreased. My £15 vegan combo felt like half a portion.

Una vera scoperta la cucina eritrea, sapori decisi non troppo piccanti, dal vegano al pesce alla carne annaffiato con birre eritree non straordinarie ma discrete. Personale gentilissimo ed attento ed infine prezzi contenuti con porzioni molto generose, in quattro preso due piatti per due persone con diversi tipi di assaggi con un pò di tutto, risultato una super doggy bag! P.S. si mangia con le mani usando una specie di pita servita a parte su cui viene anche servito il cibo.

I hate to be that person to give a very bad review to a restaurant but hear me out. I took a friend for them to try Ethiopian food, unfortunately they didnt like it- which is fine. I asked the waiter if we can have it take away. Note that we got the meat lover platter which had meat and fish ( see picture). I was so surprised when she came back with just one plastic box, which means she mixed all the meat and fish together which is not really respectful because why is the meat and fish separated in their platter but I have to eat it all mixed? Even more surprised when I got home and realised she also mixed the wraps with the sauces ( please see picture of the take away box) so now I have a mix a everything that I will not be able to eat- this is 40£ going to the garbage I am very upset. I wonder if a customer orders a take away menu from your restaurant would you serve them what you served me in the box? I am very disappointed and of course wont return- waste of money😫

Really great Eritrean food in a cozy atmosphere. I came here for lunch with a friend after climbing. For starters we shared hummus which was delicious. For main’s I had the mixed meat platter and he had a sizzling chicken dish. Both were very tasty. The spiced tea was nice too. Service was good, the lady was very kind & polite. Will definitely return.

Food was not authentic- not true Ethiopian/Eritrean food, was showing my colleagues true foods from such countries but it was very disappointing. The coffee was watery ? The waitress (two working) had an attitude - not professional. I have come here twice now and I will not be returning. better to try elsewhere if you want true authentic food and with better customer service.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant. It feels like a real celebration and occasion to eat here. The food is delicious and very veggie friendly - I recommend the veggie sharing feast and coffee ceremony for a group. It is really wonderful and the staff are the kindest. Great music too! If you looking for a wonderful evening, very reasonably priced and to try Eritrean food (it was our first time) - this is no.1!

Delicious! We had a great dinner here. Out of the ordinary and in a calm neighbourhood. Food was amazing and loved to eat with our hands and discover new flavors. Waitress was super nice would come again for sure

Unfortunately I can't tell you anything about their food. I booked through their website two months in advance for Christmas Day, receiving the booking confirmation and also a reminder two days before. We walked for about two hours to reach the restaurant as there are no buses in London on Christmas Day. All this to find out that the restaurant was closed.

We went with a small group of friends to this Brixton institution and are glad we did. Aside from the very helpful and friendly staff and nice setting the variety of feed is great. From the Hoummous and butter-soaked injera (the slightly sour and soft 'pancake') to the seafood platter and Adulis spiced meat (which comes on a charcoal heater) we enjoyed every dish immensely. We definitely recommend this place, it is worth the trip down Brixton Road

This was my first time trying Eritrean food , regardless of the taste some of the food was very over cooked and it shouldn’t go out to customers if it’s that bad especially if it’s meat , I didn’t feel the food was fresh and the taste was ok nothing really special about it . Some of the dishes was nice but generally speaking is normal . Staff are friendly and service was good

Really delicious Eritrean food. I had the meat and veg combo while my friend had the veg platter. I was unable to eat it all but only because it was a lot of food. I would definitely eat there again. Really lovely, homey atmosphere. Unpretentious and comfortable.

I was there yesterday for a wedding party, the food was running out continuously and the staff was rather rude also not as tasty.

Definitely recommended place to enjoy the typical eritrean cuisine, it was our first time and we left the place soooo satisfied! We're just here for a few days but if I had the chace I would definitely go again! Honest prices as well

Adults Restaurant I have been going ti the restaurant since I was young age. This restaurant is one of the best , clean with an excellent staff, good food lovely atmosphere, good volume of music background restaurant. I would suggest you to go and enjoy your meal 😋 good job Adulis keep it up.

Ate here once the food was nice, it was my first time trying Eritrean food, I have had it many times since so I do recommend. I had the injera (not sure how to spell it) with a selection of meats, and egg really nice sharing plate.

Being Asians, there was an urge to try a good African meal and Adulis just did that perfectly. Very good blend of spices with meats and vegan stuff with Injera bread. Go ahead and give it a try. Great staff, would not recommend their honey wine though. Will go back.

Absolutely splendid food. I have been desperate to find somewhere for authentic Eritrean and Ethiopian flavours, and Adulis really delivered. I thoroughly recommend getting one of the mixed platters so you get a taste of everything.

Ottimo ristorante eritreo. Non grandissimo, quindi meglio prenotare, semplice ma interessante negli arredi e soprattutto nel menu. I piatti tradizionali sono molto buoni (avete presente? Quelli su un piatto di pane che si mangia con le mani e senza posate). Poi vi devo avvertire: premetto che amo mangiare piccante, amo il peperoncino in ogni forma e nel tempo sono in grado di reggere e apprezzare livelli di piccante molto elevati… bene, però una botta come i peperoncini verdi ripieni di antipasto non l’avevo mai provata! Tostissimi. Palato completamente anestetizzato per mezzora 😀 però davvero buoni e non vedo l’ora di riprovarci

One of the best Eritrean/Ethiopian restaurants! Wherever I go around the world, as an Ethiopian I am always dissapointed with the location choice, cleanliness, and presentation - more over with the food of many Ethio-Eritrean establishments. But Adulis was different - it was well managed, and organized professionaly. We really enjoyed our experience at Adulis - Yeqeniley!

I like the coffee and place is nice inside. BUSY area and many buses plus shopping places. ICELAND, MCDONALD, KFC, SAINSBURY, THREE SHOP and many more...

Lovely atmosphere with interesting details about Eritrea on the walls and in the menu. I organized a party of 14 to go the menu was broad enough for everyone to have their dietary needs met. The service was excellent.

Lovely decor and great atmosphere - first time trying Eritrean food and was a great experience! Went on a Sunday afternoon so was a bit quiet and so was harder to find someone to take our order but after that was pretty smooth sailing.

Amazing food! Visited here as a group of 6 vegans and we loved it! A great vegan menu and we got a vegan combo for 4 between 4 of us (works out £15pp) and 2 shared hummus and plate for 1. Every 'curry' tasted delicious and was different from each other. The injera (bread) was lovely and we had free top ups when needed. Great service! For drinks they did not have plantbased milks for coffee so we ordered spiced tea and juice. No vegan desserts but staff said they were working on it. Location is very near Oval station. We went on a Monday night so it was quiet on arrival but still got busy after. I recommend to reserve your table at this popular restaurant!

Wonderful experience at Adulis. Food was amazing, textures and consistencies were great and very good injera. The waiter guy was also very welcoming, gracious and informative.

Very dodgy restaurant. Injera is made out of Teff flour which is naturally gluten-free. I double checked with the owner if theirs was indeed gluten-free, and he said that if I want the gluten-free one, I need to pay in cash £6 extra, because it is "imported" from Ethiopia. However, you can get a whole bag of 500gr of gluten-free Teff flour on Amazon for just £5.99. So what is he talking about? Also, it he is importing an injera from Ethiopia, it means it has been in a box for days, definitely not fresh. I don't trust this restaurant at all.

Amazing place! YOU HAVE TO GO! I went yesterday for my mums birthday, they catered to every need and more! Very friendly and made me feel super welcomed. The food was DELICIOUS as well, completely obsessed, and I can’t wait to go back :)

Amazing food, service, story, atmosphere!

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years and each time we have had a wonderful experience. Sadly, this was not one of those times. Food was served after 45 mins even though there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. When finally served, one of our dishes was burnt meat - we didn’t eat it but ate everything else as we were very hungry. It was only at the END of our meal that the waitress asked us if we wanted to substitute the burnt meat with something else. We went to order the traditional coffee ceremony; again, a restaurant which only had 2 other tables occupied. It took us over 30 minutes to get served our coffees. Very very sad demise of a restaurant where we have shared so many great memories over the last decade.

Been here many times and never disappoints - I particularly love the sharing platters for 4 people - always plenty of food and incredible flavours. Great to wash it down with some Tusker too !

I really enjoyed this food. Everything was tasty and this Ethiopian bread is very unique. Be warned that the spice level is quite high. I hadn't eaten spicy in a while and some of the food was a bit too hot for me.

I honestly think this is one of the best restaurants in South London. In the 11 years I've been going there, never had a bad meal! Friendly staff, very reasonable price for the amount of food. Simply wonderful!
