Great place, good food, and outstanding service.

Good breakfast and prices, can't beat it in this area. Suits me because it's open at 730am.

Popped in for a sausage sandwich and a cup of tea. Excellent value, clean tables and floor, freshly cooked sausage, chunky bread, perfectly made cup of tea, friendly staff. What more can I say? I'm sure I'll be coming back again.

Out-standing service and food choices, prices are fairly cheap and the people working in the café are so nice, they even offered me a lollipop on the way out which I wasn't expecting! We called in Saturday morning, and ordered a full english, and a standard breakfast. all I can say it was amazing!! Nothing cheap was used in the breakfast, good quality ingredients. If you haven't tried one, you really should 👌

A lovely little and very friendly little coffee shop with a quaint feel to it. With a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. I met a friend for a drink and the mocha I had was very good.

Very nice bacon and egg sandwich, washed down with a nice latte coffee. My first time here, but my wife loves coming in here for a bacon sarnie.

Pretty good quality well cooked breakfast but, at £8 for a large ish breakfast, not particularly cheap? £10 for the big breakfast. Coffee/mocha, (not best mocha ever), nearly £3 and tea £2, NOT included. 2nd visit had ham and cheese doorstepper sarnie, £3.95 side of chips £1.50. With another Mocha. Better value? Very friendly staff/service. Nice to sit outside on pedestrianised area in the sunshine.

We waited over half hour to get our breakfast. They seemed to serve people out of order. No apology or compensation. We were finally offered a free drink.

Our first visit to AJ’s but definitely not our last! Very friendly service, plenty of choice on the menu and the Traditional Breakfast that we enjoyed was perfectly cooked! Lovely doorstop toast and a nice mug of tea. Great atmosphere…so refreshing to go to a traditional cafe rather than one of the identical chains that you see everywhere nowadays. AJ’s is little gem! I am so surprised that this place did not get more reviews! it's a stunning family business with great food and great staff! All day breakfast available with huge portions and lovely vegetarian options. Normally the vegetarian breakfast is served with a lentil/carrot mix and mushrooms too, which is a brilliant addition instead of the usual soja based versions you get in another places. They also have lovely (and huge) burgers (vegetarian also) , waffels, sandwiches.. the list goes on.. and prices are very reasonable!

Amazing food everytime and extremely friendly staff.

Went in on a busy lunch time, staff were friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Ordered breakfast’s and waffles off the menu, took a while to decide though as looking round at other peoples plates everything looked real good! Food was nicely presented and and everything was cooked perfectly. Good quality fresh produce (especially the meat) This is definitely not a greasy spoon. Real good prices and would definitely recommend

First visit - really good bacon sarnie Second visit - just coffees which were adequate Third visit - breakfast for two (normal and veggie) really tasteless and unseasoned. Very bland to say the least. Hit and miss according to who is serving/cooking

What an absolute gem and hidden delight. The standard of food was fantastic, with great price and portion sizes to suit. We will be back!

I've been here for the cheese and ham sandwich which was good and a panini. They make it fresh, so it tastes so much better. Inside is nice and there is plenty of space between tables, i feel it would benefit from a food menu on the wall/blackboard rather than the old-fashioned table menus. I'd like to see some kind of 'Meal Deal', e.g. A sandwich, crisps and a drink for £4/£4.50. Something like that. Outside Aj's has made use of the seating to the front, which is great. I think the signage is a bit dated, kind of makes it look like an old-fashioned cafe and it's really not. Something a bit more up to date would suit it better. Overall, I think this is a superb place to eat and I often recommend it to people as an option as Shire is really struggling for nice places to eat. I don't often see Aj's advertised anywhere, Shire paper, social media etc so maybe that could be looked at. I hope this is all constructive feedback as I think the place is lovely.
