Alnwick Farm Cakery in Northumberland

Scotch pie - fabulous. Chorizo and cheese quiche - delicious. Chocolate orange cheesecake - indulgent.

New to Alnwick and stumbled across this place looking for a quick breakfast. My partner and I ordered 2 sausage rolls and 2 coffees and they were so so so delicious!! Very friendly service, lovely atmosphere and great prices!! Coffee was also great! Highly recommend and will definitely be back to try more of the food that we saw!!

We collected 2 TGTG bags within the last 20 mins. The lady was so friendly and helpful, definitely recommend.

We bought rolls and fruit slices. The food was amazing and the four items came to less than £10 which was excellent value. I would recommend the apple slice cake. My only regret was that I didn't buy two. They prefer cash but will take cards for payments over £3. My only niggle was that the service was rather terse.

So glad we stumbled on this gem of a shop! Just walking down the road, looking for somewhere to get a hot drink to take away, and found the Cakery. While in there, decided to treat ourselves to some cakes and fruit salads (£1 a pot!!). The strawberry cheesecake was divine 😋. Such a friendly little spot, and refreshingly cheap. We were expecting to be robbed blind, so when I saw the prices, I loaded up! Lol. But truly delicious and 1000% worth a visit! And as the sign in the shop says, they prefer cash as the bank takes a cut of all card payments.

We spent a day at the zoo and needed good food snack. We always try and support small local independent businesses. The food we found was amazing. The usual things were there sandwiches and pie but also amazing foods like pretzel with cheese and ham small pizzas and so much more gorgeous food. We had a proper feed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This place does wonderful bread. We particularly enjoyed the festival bread.

We have had pasties and the quiche for 3 days straight. So sad to be leaving today but tucking into the pasty as we drive Amazing crunchy and delightful pastry. The filling was perfectly juicy and plenty. The price was surprisingly reasonable and we will definitely return Thank you for being such lovely welcoming staff too :-)

I didnt visit, but the welcome hamper had a selection of their baked goodies in it, and they were lovely. Particular shout out for the sultana scones

I went in for the first time today, followed the directional arrows into the shop and was trying to see what was available in the cake bit. A woman was being served standing covering them so I tried looking round her. I went passed her and glanced back to see if there was anything I had missed only to be told 'it's one way' I was saying I know I came in that way. Only to be told 'there is a big board telling you, this woman needs to get out that way' No need at all. Rude. Tray bakes looked nice from what I could see though but lost a customer for that

They made me a kinder, Nutella drip cake for my daughters 21st birthday while on holiday. The cake looked and tasted amazing. Not to rich and really moist kept well all week to eat it. Thank you so much we loved it.

Thank you for the amazing customer provided by you and your daughter. I had emailed you for help, expecting a reply on Monday, but you replied straight away Sunday. You need a day off! I collected a batch of bread from your Alnwick store on the Monday. It was a delightful mix of corn bread, stotties rolls and bread. I started making bread over lock down, and I'm maybe a fair amateur. Your products must be really fresh as they taste as good.... OK, I concede, better, than my homemade ones. I was really surprised by how soft and buttery the stotties tasted, and even after freezing and defrosting the bread and rolls they were soft and delicious. The real standout for us was the cornbread. I've never tried it before but both I and my partner were glad to have tried it and will be coming in for more whenever we are in Alnwick. It's obvious you are a trained and skilled Baker. I'm glad I didn't try the cakes as I don't know I've got the willpower not to come in everyday. I will be highly recommending you to anyone who will listen, and if you ever need an apprentice to hand down your bakery sorcery.....

Nipped in shop today (Sunday) for 1 slice of apple tart and kit kat muffin both very stale by more than a day won't be back I don't do reviews normally but this made me angry especially as it was 4.50 not cheap!

We are back in Alnwick after over a year. Extremely glad to be back at one of our favourite bakeries. Quility produce served by friendly and polite staff. Hats off, and long may they continue. Coffee and a bacon sandwich for that price, and that nice. Totally awesome. Just been back in the bakery last week. Called in on the way to Wooler on vacation. Bought two spelt loaves and six wholemeal breadcakes, plus two brownies. Helped make our holiday. Great customer service as ever. Thank you.

Excellent bakery to order a custom birthday cake from. The F1 car cake they made for my son's birthday was a masterpiece and tasted amazing.

We bought several items from here and the rolls and bread were fantastic - the choice of cakes was amazing! As you can see from the photos it was really difficult to choose which one to eat first!

Great cakes shame about the customer service, the girl behind the counter needs a lesson in how to speak to customers. We were obviously a hindrance to her day. Shame!

Despite the lock down, the team at Alnwick Farm Cakery are keeping open, and managing the shop brilliantly. They’re fully stocked on bread, buns, and cakes, and I’d recommend supporting quality local businesses like this wherever you can. They’re part of our community, and they’re doing everything they can to keep us fed. Be kind, and shop local.

I think it depends what you are reviewing. Today I'm reviewing sitting in the shop for coffee. Shop freezing with door always wide open,on a cold day you may as well sit outside.Coffee was cold,both cups,traybake was average, looked amazing,tasted mass produced.Would not recommend sitting in for coffee.Have given two stars as is pet friendly.But that's about it. I'm not reviewing the bakery have not tried the fresh baked bread which looked really good.

Best bakery in town.... Breakfast deal fantastic a bacon sandwich and a drink for £2. The salad box is the best and very reasonably priced. The ready made salad bags in supermarkets pail into insignificance to the fresh salad box sold here for only £2.50 with enough for two people. Pastries too are delicious and reasonably priced

If you want to have a personalised birthday cake made I'd recommend this place based on my experience. You need to order well in advance as they can be very busy but the results are well worth it. The chocolate cake we ordered was not the horrible dry offering you often get but was very moist and much enjoyed by everyone. Recommended.
