Came here for a hot drink as staying at Premier Inn, had wanted a cooked breakfast but not serving at the time - they happily made a 'proper' coffee, and gave me a warm welcome and wasn't rushed.Very good prices. Well recommended for a sit down and a chat

One of the best cafes in Halifax. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. All the food is home made and very tasty. They also provide a service for anyone that wants a hot meal and drink and don’t have the funds to pay for it

Passing through Halifax yesterday I was absolutely delighted to see that The Angel's Rest Café is open once again! You can most definitely count on me being back there again very soon indeed!

This is a great café. The food is all freshly made to order and the soups are all handmade on site which makes it stand out compared to the microwave offerings you usually get. The coffee is served in mini cafetieres and the tea in individual tea pots which I love as it means the drinks can be as strong/weak as you like. If you want somewhere to relax and enjoy good food without spending a fortune this is the place to go. You also get the benefit of knowing you are helping a local charity as the café supports Halifax Street Angels.

Great quality and value. Friendly service. Easy to find. I had a sandwich and cake. The coffee is one of the best I have had in a cafe.

a little gem of a place opened in the centre of Halifax near the town hall and YMCA. Angels Rest offering freshly made sandwiches, home made soup and a selection of cakes and buns mmm. I found the prices very reasonable, the soup and sandwich lovely and a nice bright cafe to take some time out in. The staff were very friendly too and I will definitely go back. Don't take my word for it - go and try it for yourselves :-)

Not my words but those of a fellow diner today at The Angel's Rest Cafe. Praise indeed! Whenever I am in Halifax and fancy a good cup of tea or coffee then this my place of choice since it's opening in September this year. Choice of blends (decaffeinated also available) to accompany a generous slice of cake (lovely moist Dutch Apple, Stem Ginger cakes or maybe a macaroon being my personal favourites) being a very pleasing way indeed to pass half an hour or so as a break from the rigours shopping! There is also a wide variety of sandwiches - all freshly made to order - and, of course, the soups which are made on the premises using only fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Very reasonably priced too - even more so when a soup and sandwich are taken at the same time All served up by friendly, helpful and efficient voluntary staff with the shared goal of raising funds for Halifax Street Angels and their desire to keep people safe in the evenings on the streets of Halifax and surrounding district. Such a great cause for sure. Congratulations Angel's Rest Cafe on your success thus far and hoping that it will continue to build and blossom in the future!

The church is insular, displaying a strong inclination towards judging those who are not part of their community. The pastors' family holds themselves in high regard, believing their superiority grants them the authority to pass judgment on vulnerable individuals. They employ tactics of pressuring newcomers to pray publicly, using guilt as a means to enforce their expectations. I advise against attending this church as a newcomer, as it primarily consists of judgmental individuals who employ inappropriate pressure tactics, such as soliciting more money and demanding public prayers. It is important to acknowledge that not everyone feels comfortable praying in such a public manner, as some prefer to engage in private prayer.

Bobs tearoom is always marvellous. Very beautiful walk to get there no matter where you come from and the drinks and cakes are always well worth the walk. A local hidden gem.

I had the full English breakfast at Thyme today. To say it was delicious is an understatement. Every part of the meal was top quality, and it was cooked to perfection. I didn’t catch the owner’s name, but she is obviously much more than a line cook, she’s a chef, and very good one. I’ll be back, often! Highly recommended!

Booked for a joint birthday. Eight of us from age 6 to 74. All enjoyed really well cooked dishes and sides and appreciated the attentive service. Lucky we went straight to the mains as the portions were large.

Without question the food here is good. The tastiest sandwiches and cakes. However, the reception can vary depending on who is working. On our last visit the dark haired lady serving couldn’t even be bothered to say Hello and was actually a little rude. Felt rather unwelcome and uncomfortable whilst spending £20 on 3 sandwiches. We think we’ll spend our money elsewhere going forwards.
