We was well impressed with the carvery, everything was fresh, hot and tasty. The staff were lovely and they've done a great job with the renovation.

Well what can I say, excellent sums it up. But that would make for a short review ! This morning is only my 2nd time here for breakfast, and the 1st time for the rest of my family. The breakfast is hot, tasty and well cooked, all that you need. It opens at 8.00am which is also a bonus if you need to get somewhere. The drinks are dispensed via a machine, I was not expecting good things… I was wrong, the hot chocolate is the best I have tasted, and that includes M&S. It’s also great value for money, my tip for your visit (learnt from my first visit) is after you have paid for your breakfast at the till point, do not go straight away and get the food, take your cup and get the hot drinks, then get your toast, only then make your way to the buffet line…. Stops the breakfast getting cold. This is nothing like the old establishment before it, give it a try, you will come back again. Special mention needs to go the Mike the manager, very helpful and a great host.

Nice clean family eatery... Great for family meal, mother's day or a birthday meal !! I would take family but I wouldn't nip in for a pint after work as it's totally lost that pub feel and the beer is expensive.

There were no staff to see the 'Wait here to be seated' sign. Eventually someone approached. They asked if I wanted a table for 2 or 3. I was puzzled, 'Just for 1 please'. I then realised that more people had come in behind me and he was talking to them. He showed them to a table. I left!!

This place has a fantastic warm atmosphere with its new layout. Staff are absolutely amazing and can’t do enough for you. We called in today for a meal to celebrate our grandson’s 19th birthday. We were waited on by Dana and she was just brilliant especially when my granddaughter wanted to take home a Chocolate brownie sundae which is something they don’t normally do but Dana made it possible to the delight of my granddaughter who thoroughly enjoyed it when she got home. It might not have looked as nice in the cake box as it did in a sundae glass but it went down just as well 🫢 so thank you Dana you’re a star ⭐️. Definitely a well deserved 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ we will definitely be back. .

Visited on Friday evening with friends. Starters and mains served quickly, great food. I had carvery for main, never disappoints! Lovely friendly staff, special mention to Mandy who looked after us, went above and beyond and also helped at the end of the night when our car door was frozen shut and came out with some warm water! Won't hesitate to visit again and would recommend! 5 stars!!

Fantastic, friendly service from the team including Mike, Jayde & Deb. Food = Value for money & wide variety. Kids enjoyed the continental breakfast option. Poached eggs on the egg, avocado option on toast could have been a tad more runny. Be nice to see pancake & waffle option in the future possibly 😋 Cleanliness = Exceptional, however the smell generated from the carvery can linger on clothes thereafter. Entertainment = Kids indoor play area very clean. Arcade games on the expensive side however. Overall, it was a nice way to spend our Sunday morning with the family!

Really lovely lunch had here. I ordered the turkey and stuffing Yorkshire puddings wrap which was delicious and absolutely gigantic. My son thoroughly enjoyed his children's meal. Good service from all the staff who made us feel welcome and looked after. We will definitely be returning.

Family occasion, some had carvery (which was ok). Food off the menu was poor. So poor that 3 meals were that bad we got a refund. When we booked, we were told we had a table and were given an area, so we couldn't all sit together. The draught was off, so only bottled alcohol on sale. Wouldn't go back, so dissapointed!!!

Well, where to begin. It's Astley not Worsley. Previously this was a dark dim lit Greene King establishment. This time we went in and it was SO BRIGHT!! The new decor is odd to say the least. The staff were great but...the food 🥺 The portions were reasonable but the quality was definitely lacking. My wife's cheeseburger looked like it had been stood on, one very wilted lettuce leaf and half a slice of processed cheese. I may give it a second try in the future but it is not going to be the first on my list. I feel I am generous in giving 4 stars but the staff pulled the score up.

My family and I visited Farmhouse Kitchen today, it was such a lovely atmosphere with a children’s play area too so families can enjoy there food whilst the children play. When we arrived the staff were very helpful and attentive especially Dan & Dawn. The food was plentiful and hot. This is our first choice venue for a five star carvery and amazing deserts 🍰 Keep up the good work ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ looking forward to visiting again soon

Been here 3 times now in as many weeks. Each time was brilliant. We have 2 children and the play area is enough to keep them busy (aimed at under 10s). Had the carvery twice and both excellent, good amount of meat and plenty of choice for vegetables. The third time we tried the normal menu and was satisfied however I definitely preferred the carvery. Plenty of choice for the kids to eat and not overly expensive. To top all this cannot fault the staff at all, the food and amenities are great but they are the icing on the cake cannot do enough for you and you don't always get good customer service these days. Well done to everyone at Farmhouse kitchen we live 20 minutes away but definitely our preferred choice especially with the kids.

First time My husband and I visited since it has been under new management and We really enjoyed the food. We both had the all day breakfast and it was the best we have had for a long time. The service was excellent and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We would go again in the future and definitely recommend to our friends and family.

3 mums and 3 boys went for tea. The carvery is always spot on and the staff are always friendly. The new potatoes were especially nice tonight but honestly, it never disappoints. Tonight, the boys (9 and 10), chose to have their ice cream in a booth next to us mums. They went and ordered their ice cream at the bar and sat down in their own booth. Mandy came and asked them which toppings they’d like, bearing in mind that one of the boys had a dairy intolerance. She was brilliant with them, treating them all like individuals and small adults. She made them laugh and ensured they all got what they wanted. A very child friendly person and genuinely lovely. Dan was off duty but dived behind the bar to help with my drinks order. Thank you Dan. I can see that you’re the one for staff to shadow and you care about what you do, even when off duty. Honestly, we never have a bad experience here. The staff work hard to ensure a great experience. Eating out is a luxury these days, but when we get the chance, even though it’s not on our doorstep, this is the place to go. Thank you for your attention to detail and for all working hard to give customers a great dining experience. There’s a play area inside for smaller children and a small playground outside. There is a drinking/dining area outside for the warmer months. Lovely bright farmhouse decor and just a lovely place to visit. Thank you for your attention to detail and for always being friendly and welcoming. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas, even if working, and have an amazing New Year.

Very disappointed we were booked in for 3pm on Christmas day after my father in law paying over £500 for his family to enjoy Christmas dinner out we were left waiting outside in a queue for an hour my mother in law in a wheelchair which is just disgusting what shocked us most was there was no explanation by any staff or acknowledgement the fact we were stood in the cold and an hour later being asked if we were waiting for a table. really? Table booked for 3 we got our starters at 4.45 nearly 2 hours after. We asked afew different staff when our food would start to be served we had 2 hungry children in our party but after telling us they would find out no on came back to talk to us and one member of staff spoke rudely to my father inlaw.The carvery was lovely but my mother inlaw ordered the salmon honestly never seen anything like it loads of veg thrown on the plate and loads of potatoes that did not look appetising at all she ended up eating hardly anything. We had a wait for our puddings then given a box of mince pies we thought these were supposed to be served with coffee or tea but obviously wanted us to leave because of everything running over they wanted to get cleaned up and closed. Honestly I am in shock the money that was payed for that which was supposed to be a special day for our family because of personal reasons Terrible never again.

For five people paying £65 per head you think we would get something special ? We got an hours wait for the starter, had to ask 3 times for a high chair, 45 minutes to clear the dishes, 30 minutes queue for the carvery and a dessert that deserted, waiting staff tried to pass 3 bowls of hot soup over a babies head!! What we didn't get is an apology? Never again

As a family of 5 adults and 2 children we booked for Christmas lunch at 1pm. We were shown our seats & told the starters would be sent out. We waited & waited, finally attracting the attention of a member of staff asking when we were going to get our starters we were told they would check, 45 minutes after arriving they came, I personally ordered paťe, the toast was totally inedible it was unbreakable. We then after another 45 minute wait had our table cleared & we asked about the carvery & do we just go and get it, we were told they would ask. Nobody came so after a further 45 minutes we eventually went anyway. We were not asked our table number so none of the staff would have known where we were up to regarding our meal. I am not going into great detail about the food but to say it wasn't up to normal standards. We noticed that takeaway orders were being packed, how long were those people waiting? The deserts finally came after waiting one & a half hours from finishing our mains, but only after we had asked twice!!! We were given a box containing mince pies & 2 ginger bread men. There was no tea or coffee offered as stated on the menu. Having paid £65 per head for what should have been a special occasion was an absolute insult & as a company you should be thoroughly ashamed. The total lack of organisation meant nobody including the waitresses knew what was going on. The wait for food & lack of communication particularly was noticeable when a queue formed outside as the tables they had booked weren't available. I have over many years booked for Christmas lunch out which proved to be a happy occasions, from the food to the atmosphere, this debacle of an occasion lacked in EVERYTHING My recommendation is for you to sack any future ideas you have for Christmas or GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER

After popping in a month or so ago for a carvery, I suggested that a few of us come here for breakfast. The breakfast carvery was excellent. A good selection of piping hot ingredients- all for a decent price. One of the party was a vegetarian and they managed to put a good breakfast together and the veggie sausages were prepared freshly by the staff…eventually. The hot drinks were refillable. In theory. We were queuing at one and the machine was playing up so the staff told us it would be better going to the other one. So we went to the other one which was just as temperamental and someone came down and suggested that we use the other one!!! I said to the person refilling the beans and emptying out the grounds that they need to get this sorted and they said something along the lines of “this is getting it sorted as far as they are concerned, you should have seen it before”. It wasn’t just us struggling, - everyone else was in the same position. A very poor aspect to the visit. We meet up on a regular basis for breakfast but this has put us off coming back here which is a real pity as the food and venue (and staff) were great. I guess it keeps the cost down for the owners if the machines effectively limit the number of drinks people have. Decent quality drinks when you could actually get one. It was hard to get any ‘flow’ to our party’s visit here, as it seemed that one of us was always up queuing for a drink. Rubbish.

Really, REALLY disappointed with my family's experience today. Having paid £65 per person we had been looking forward to our Christmas day meal. Our excitement though, turned to disappointment and anger having experienced the shambles we've just been through. The food (once you're lucky enough to receive it) is lovely. I had pate for starter and it really was delicious. It wasn't though, worth the hour and 5 minutes wait to get it. After queuing out the door on arrival - despite arriving bang on our pre -booked time - we were shown to our table. We were told that as we'd pre-ordered all our food choices, our starters would be brought straight out. After half an hour I asked a staff member what the hold up was. She said she would check for us and never returned. After another fifteen minutes I asked a second member of staff who promptly disappeared in the same way. Another ten minutes and my daughter went in search of someone to complain to. Our starter then arrived. We then had another long, long wait for our table to be cleared before we could join the queue for main course - carvery. We hadn't realised when booking (and paying £65 per person) that we would be queuing along with people who were not eating in but had walked-in for take-outs! Sorry, but having paid £65 for the privilege of eating in on Christmas Day, this was a bit of a surprise and an annoyance. Having queued for 20 minutes to reach the carvery counter - we had now been here an hour and a half and only had our starters! Once again the food was lovely. The beef was particularly delicious. Cue another long, long wait. We requested dessert to be brought as soon as we started our mains - in an attempt to speed up the process. We waited and waited. No dessert. I went to enquire and was told there was a delay - you don't say! We eventually gave up and left. After three hours we managed to get our starters and our mains. Tables around us were laughing e similar experiences. Whilst the food is lovely - congratulations to the kitchen staff - it is severely let down by the don't give a damn attitude of the waiting staff. They really, really don't care if you have a positive experience or not. Definitely will not return.

We were a party of six with a four month old baby. Everything about our visit was excellent especially the staff who all work very hard and are extremely welcoming. Special mention to Dan and Laura who went out of their way to be accommodating.

At £65 per person for Christmas Day meal, we were expecting better than the disorganised shambles we received. We arrived at our booked time to find people queueing out of the door. Trying to book in was chaotic and there was a delay. Once shown to our table we were advised that our starters would be straight out seeing as we had pre-ordered. One hour and three enquiries made to staff later we still hadn't received our starters. There was a one year old within our party who was getting cranky by this point. Only when my daughter wandered off and found a senior member of staff to complain to did we get something to eat. (The food, once it came, was delicious. Well done to the kitchen staff). We then had another long wait for our table to be cleared before we could join the queue for our main course (this being a carvery restaurant). We knew we would have to queue when we booked. What we didn't know is that we would be queuing behind walk-ins who were taking a carvery away with them! The wait was ridiculous. If you charge £65 for a carvery you should have separate queues for those eating in and those taking away. With us having a baby with us a couple of us had waited at the table with baby whilst everyone else went for their food; we then went for ours when they got back to the table. Our queue time was so long that everyone in our party had finished eating by the time we got back to the table with our meals. Happy Family Christmas!! Having experienced an hour long wait for offer starters I asked for our desserts to be brought as soon as we sat down to eat our mains. Naively I thought they'd be brought out just as we were finishing our main course. Naively I thought the waiting staff cared that customers had a positive eating experience. Wrong!! After another long wait for table to be cleared and dessert to be brought we gave up. I went in search of someone to ask could we get desserts boxed up to take away. At this point I was advised there was a delay and I would have to wait. At this point, losing patience and wondering just how long we were to wait, (having already waited an hour for starters and half an hour for dessert, with a twenty minute queue at the carvery in between), we gave up and left. The food was delicious. The service (I use this term very loosely as there wasn't any) was horrendous. At least three staff had ignored our query about the long wait for starters; two ignored our queries about the whereabouts of dessert. Nobody came to our table to ask that everything was okay, did we need anything, or just to show their presence. Tables around us were having similar experiences. Families were leaving without their deserts. At £65 for 3 courses and coffee, you expect better. You expect staff to give a hoot that you have a positive experience. We unfortunately did not get this. We got long waits and huge disappointment. I would not recommend and would in fact discourage anyone from booking for special occasions in the future - a shame because the food - when you're lucky enough to get it - really is lovely.

Updating my review after recently returning to "Farmhouse" following it's rebranding in 2024. Unfortunately it seems this change wasn't for the better, as the food I usually enjoyed, mainly the burgers, seem to have gone very downhill. It was easy to tell all the ingredients were from frozen, and no amount of ketchup or salt could make the chips edible. I can't think of another dining experience I've had where I actually left most of the meal because it was just that bland. Now this could have just been our experience, the carvery did look good and some deserts looked nice, but I wouldn't risk going back. I've also lowered the stars given for service, as despite most of the staff being friendly enough, we had a bad experience with one who dropped one of my chicken strips, said "oh you lost one" and then scuttled off without saying anything else. Kinda funny in retrospect but it was not what I wanted at the time (the chicken strips were pretty decent and now I was down one). At least the place looked nice. Included a picture of the bland chips, watery coleslaw and mount if ketchup I was using to try and make it through the meal... Ended up leaving it

Fab lunch out with the family at the newly refurbished Farmhouse Kitchen. Food was great, staff lovely. Makes a nice change to be in a restaurant where the staff are smiling and personable. Dawn in particular was brilliant, really lovely and personable; chatting to the kids as she was clearing tables. All left smiling x

Food was really underwhelming, and the service was poor , the lady on reception was lovely but our server was short either us, dropped part of our starter and did not apologise or offer to replace which was a bit upsetting being a guest I ordered the vegan burger meal , the chips where largely cold and tasted frozen with no flavour and unfortunately the burger itself was genuinely tasteless, I was disappointed. I wouldn't recommend the food , but staff on front desk and behind bar are lovely

Me and my gran came here as a passing by meal and found out that they do afternoon tea, so we decided to book for one for a week later as we loved our meals so much. I am now sat at the table at our afternoon tea writing this to say it was absolutely amazing 😍. My gran also loves all of the selection of food and for the amazing price too you couldn't go wrong. The lovely Dawn made our meal and I can't thank her enough for the delicious food 🤤Definitely coming again in the new year!

Excellent service from Scott and colleagues, seated an extra guest. Tasty carvery with everything you’d want. Burger was also good. Refill drinks are refreshing and not watered down. Reasonable price. New refurb is nice, enjoy the cartoon food pictures on the wall and bright colours. Would recommend for anyone fancying a bit of pub grub.

Been a few times since they've reopened and the carvery is much better. A member of staff comes up to your table at peak times to let you know when you can head to the carvery so you're not standing in a long queue. They also now do bottomless soft drinks and unlimited tea or coffee. Staff are friendly as always and helpful. Cakes are still as delicious and Noe they do various bakery foods aswell. Overall, would still highly recommend for a carvery or just a sweet treat and a brew.

Went there Sunday with family didn't really want cavalry so I opted for the mix grill. Stay clear Absolutely horrible food sasauges looked and tasted like been recooked rubbery and thinking microwaved chicken / gammon was tasteless and the steak cheap for a reason had a horrible night sleep after eating that feeling sick

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I feel ripped off here. Popped in for lunch as we were passing by, but wouldn’t go again. We expected similar to the meals we have had at carverys before; standard fare, reasonably priced. Mum’s carvery was warm so by mid meal was cool. No sign of my salad until mum was nearly 1/2 way through her’s. My standard salad (£9.79) which should gave contained quinoa and mixed beans was more or less a plate of lettuce leaves with a few bits of tomato, cucumber and bland vinaigrette dressing. I was told the quinoa and beans were mixed in, but could see none. I was bought a little dish of them, but by that time my mum had given up eating her luke warm carvery and we just wanted to leave. Mum was asked if she wanted it heating up in the microwave??? It’s honestly the worst meal I have ever paid for. I did notice 2 other diners were given free deserts due to their meals being luke warm too. It is a shame as the carvery itself look nice so really something needs to be done about the temperature of food and hot drinks. Also, if customers are paying £10 for a salad they should at least be getting what is described on the menu. Not a place we will be returning to.
