Came to the Ivy Asia for my Girlfriend's 30th. Food was brilliant but sadly the service was not. The staff were very polite however, we did not feel equal to some other tables where it seemed the staff knew the customers. We waited 45 minutes from arriving to ordering our food. There were some large gaps between some dishes arriving and sadly as we have a 10 month at home, we had to leave without having had any dessert order. When booking the table, ot advises you only have the table for a certain amount of time which is a little at odds when you have to wait for so long. As I have said, the staff were very polite but sadly did not provide a good standard of service and it marred the evening slightly. We will definitely come back and hopefully I can be proven wrong next time.

Had a lovely lunch at the Ivy Asia Brighton. Hands down the best Ivy Asia in the UK. Always lovely staff. Jamie looked after me and my daughter so well, nothing was too much trouble for you, and she has such a lovely manner. The lady who greeted us at the door was so great to, sorry I didn’t get to know her name. Would highly recommend 😊

16th December 2024 3 people top priced menue …..worst meal ever. One course was a Whole plateful piled high with brussel Sprouts. The prawn dish vast amounts of batter very little prawn. The quality of food has vastly gone down hill. The salted beef course was far too salty. The whole meal very disappointing. Won’t be visiting again any time soon Ann Raynsford

Can’t fault it one bit! Our waitress Layla was absolutely amazing super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is gorgeous. And food was absolutely amazing.

Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed in the lunch menu. £20 per person, but we had to send back one of the starters and both mains. The char siu wok was raw and tasteless, I was literally shocked how bad it was. But the manager was amazing and could totally see that it is not up to par so we could cancel the lunch plan and just leave. I’m not sure if it was a one-off hiccup because all the other reviews are great. I loved the beef tataki though.

Disappointing new years eve 'experience'- false advertisement The night was advertised as a new years eve experience, advertised with phrases like 'join us for the ultimate party' and 'expect high energy'. There was no party at all. It was just a normal evening with a set menu, a dj stuck in the corner and every so often two people in disco ball outfits came and did a bizarre dance at us. This was the 'immersive entertainment'. A very odd choice for an Asian themed restaurant. Everyone just stared awkwardly. It took us around 20 mins to get our prosecco on arrival and nearly 45 mins to get a jug of water and a bottle of wine. We were tempted to buy more bottles but figured it would take too long to arrive and we were sternly warned we only had the table for a few hours. We did read this in the terms and conditions but figured we would at least be allowed to stay at the bar to see in the New year at this 'new years eve experience'. Food came out at different times, we had about 4 different waiters which got confusing. The best thing was the food though, it was delicious and I was grateful to have adjustments made for my gluten allergy. I was just shocked this was advertised as a 'new years eve experience' and the 'ultimate party' on the website. We asked if we could have a drink and a dance (again, advertised as a new years eve party) after we finished our food and we were told 'I don't know' by staff. We were expecting a party; disco balls on the advert, girls sitting on the bar raising a glass etc. But it was just an ordinary night at the restaurant. I never write bad reviews but this was really disappointing and complete false advertisement.

Myself, my wife and our 2 children had an amazing evening at Ivy Asia Brighton last night!! From arrival we were met with a smile, even though we were 15 minutes late, we were found a perfect table and nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress Jamie was wonderful, happy and very accommodating to all of us. I love the decor of the restaurant and on this occasion our food was fantastic. We had the salmon and the steak, both were very tasty although the salmon could have been either a bit bigger or served on a bed of something to justify the price but still everything was great!! We will be back very soon!!!!

Went to celebrate my sister’s birthday on Monday 23/12/2024. We were well looked after by Jo through out the evening.! Food and atmosphere were great.! Thank you again Ivy Asia for a great experience.! Marie

we came for a british afternoon tea, and when we ordered it, we didnt realize it was asian afternoon tea! the food was really nice though, but just remember, this ivy is asian and so dont come expecting british afternoon tea! the atmosphere is stunning though, and the staff didnt dissapoint

Gone downhill, we came for our 1st wedding anniversary. The woman who served us initially was lovely, we ordered 3 small plates and 2 large plates with 2 sides. We asked if we could please have the 3 small plates to start and then the large plates and 2 sides to follow so we didn’t have it all on he table at the same time. We was told this was fine and they would happily oblige. The first 3 dishes came and whilst we had just started them the other 4 turned up and the woman just stood there looking at us as if to say - what do you want me to do with all this stuff? I told them that we asked for it to come separate and she just said “ok” and walked off. I had a feeling they were going to leave it on the side and bring it back out once we had finished the small plates - what a surprise it took us over 20 mins to finish the small plates then they cleared the table.. another 15 ish minutes it took them to bring it back out and what a surprise it was the freezing cold dishes they tried to serve us 35 minutes earlier. At £165 for the meal considering we had no alcohol just 2 diet cokes.. it’s disgusting service. £35 for a cold black cod? And £30 odd for a cold beef dish.. No thanks. Have been going for years - every time we went to get our wedding rings, when I was pregnant amongst many events… but after spoiling our wedding anniversary that we were bought for a gift we won’t be coming back.

1 star only for the place. It’s beautiful. The service was awful , the waitress looked like she was mad at us they wanted to close before 23:30 and they close at 01:00. They didn’t accept our digital id, so if you’re not from uk maybe you have a problem. The food was okay but expensive for the small plates.

Amazing cocktails and beautifully crafted ~ highly recommend. House white too ~ absolute kudos to whomever chooses the wine list. Staff run off their feet but to be expected as it’s Christmas and the atmosphere makes up for the slower service for things like plates eg. To be fair we ordered a desert platter and in the end everyone wanted plates so wait to be expected.

It was a beautiful setting but for £90 a head the service wasn’t great, the hostess scolded us for being 10 mins late (the reason being that we were waiting in the queue to get in) the waiter was different every serving and they didn’t clear the table away without being asked. They hadn’t put down Christmas crackers which every table had. The food was good but not perfect. Lots of amazing restaurants in Brighton for less where you get all this top notch. For that price I wouldn’t go again.

I think my taste buds had an orgasm! When you walk into this restaurant you'll receive a very warm welcome indeed, then you'll maybe notice that the entire floor is lit up and the decor is a little special. But, the food is amazing with so many flavours tantalising your tongue, we chose several different dishes from the set menu which was superb. I had a lovely duck salad and the sea bass to follow which was sublime. For an additional £5 a desert can be added, I had doughnuts which were yum. The wine list includes some, let's say quite enthusiastic prices but I'm no wine connoisseur so chose a reasonably priced white which was actually quite good. We noticed a little background music which we could talk over across the table and later noticed a DJ in the corner, but around 7.30PM the DJ pumped up the music a little so we left him to it. All I can say is try the food for yourself. We'll be back for sure.

Went for a company Christmas party this evening, when our table ordered drinks I was asked for ID (which was quite surprising as I am in my mid 20s) I didn’t have any so I couldn’t order a drink (completely fair enough). Our waitress then spent the rest of the evening “marking” me; watching me constantly, whispering to other wait staff and pointing at me (presumably making sure I didn’t take a sip of anyone else’s drink). All round very weird and uncomfortable experience.

Very good experience for this magnificent restaurant, so yes you pay for the atmosphere but the food is succulent, unexpected flavors, the best restaurant we have been to in Brighton.

Such a nice anniversary. We’ve been attended by Jamie who was very attentive and explained everything on the manu so carefully as came straight if we were in need of something else. The food was great and they gave us some mochis to celebrate our anniversary. I will definitely repeat the experience.

We went for our siblings Christmas meal and it was so cute and festive, had an amazing atmosphere even on a Wednesday and the staff were so friendly. Jaime in particular was so lovely and attentive. Festive menu was top notch ✨

Brighton Ivy Asia is a fantastic spot to visit, with beautiful decor and a vibrant atmosphere. Today, we went for the 'Dragon Set Lunch Menu' at £19.95 per person. Unfortunately, no pictures of the food – it was devoured before we had a chance! 😅 That said, it was small but satisfying, and of course, absolutely delicious.

Arrived at restaurant 15 min early for our reservation and sat at the bar. No one asked for our drinks for 20 min (table was ready yet) after making eye contact until I had to wave my hand in front of bar staff. Got our drink 25 Mon after arriving.

This was our second visit to Ivy Asia in Brighton and both times we never wanted the experience to end. Our first visit we got a table but this time we got counter and it was just as enjoyable. We were sat in a corner facing the chefs preparing food which was fascinating to watch. The level of detail and ingredients is fascinating. Both times we have been we have had the experience menu which I would highly recommend. The food is divine!!! The first time we visited the service was amazing but upon our second visit the service was exceptional! My partner and I were served by Laila and she made the experience even better. She was so brilliant. She made our second visit even better than the first. There was a passion to her job that was so refreshing to see. Thank you Laila, you made my partners birthday extra special. All the staff whose service we witnessed from start to finish were great. Keep it up Ivy Asia Brighton! 🙏🏼🙏🏾🙏🏿

An excellent time. Terrific attention to detail on all fronts in the restaurant. What made it especially memorable this time was our server Jess. She had a knack of appearing just when I wanted something else, and is a natural with customers. The restaurant is lucky to have her.

Upmarket Chinese restaurant with splendid decor. Nice cocktail bar and both small and large plates on menu. Can be a bit noisy when DJ playing music

Lovely meal, had the lunchtime set menu and food was delicious, however the tables where we sat were very close together almost felt like you were on the same table as the people next to you

Travelled by taxi to enjoy the dinner and drinks (first night away from kids for a while) my 30+ mrs gets ID'd for her drinks, and the waitress refuses the photo of her ID she has on her phone...so immediately evening has turned sour. Then, in a half empty restaurant, we are sat by the door on a night which is 2 degrees outside so every 2 mins we get a freezing cold draught. We waited 35 mins from being seated to being brought any food at all, but the food we did have was good, although, for the price, not great. 2 highlights were prawn tempura and aromatic duck pancakes which were both excellent. Having finished my meal, I was then presented with a bill with 13.5% added to it after the service we received, but, as a typical Brit, I just paid and left disappointed. Would I suggest anyone to go...honestly, not really. Go to Wagamama and save yourself £50...the food is just as good and less pretentious...and they will serve you drinks!

I have coeliac disease and other food sensitivities, so I don't get to have fine dining experiences in restaurants often. The Ivy Asia is such a beautiful place, and our server Reece put all my allergy fears at ease. Reece was so attentive and helpful, and it made such a difference to know I was looked after and could confidently eat everything that was served to me. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We celebrated our anniversary with my husband last week here, and it was just the best experience we had a long time ago. The decor was stunning and the food excellent too. Our server, Blanca made sure we got the best service all night, thank you for her knowledge and her kindness. We will be back soon.

Beautiful restaurant with an incredible decor inside and the Terrace: very special place. The food menu was unique and rather special- loved all the dishes we ordered. Highly recommended.

I’ve eaten here before, so thankfully I wasn’t put off by the very many one star reviews. Firstly, The Ivy Asia is normally busy, so booking in advance is an imperative. If possible, for a party of two, ask to be seated on tables 37, 38 or 39. They’re at the rear of the restaurant, near the sushi bar. They’re spaced further apart than at the front of the interior space. I’ve never sat outside, so I can’t speak to that experience. Our server was a very nice young woman called Noa(h) who attended to our every need impeccably. Friendly and engaging, with a very good knowledge of the menu. She never tried upselling us on either food or drink. As it was my companion’s big birthday (60th, since you were wondering) we didn’t hold back on the order. We had the half crispy aromatic duck to start. As mentioned elsewhere, this is fatty and not as crispy as some places. But it is moist. Fantastically presented, with the offer of extra pancakes and sauces should you require them. We chased this down with a 300ml bottle of sparkling saki. Which was my own idea, and one I’m very pleased with. For our mains we had the ‘Black Shell’ This is literally a huge black shell. An upgrade from the ‘Silver Shell’ which I’ve had before, and which contains mainly sushi. The Black Shell version contains more sashimi. Plus some interesting other dishes. It’s plenty for two to share. Star of the show was the yellow fin sashimi and the fatty salmon belly. We washed down the mains with a lovely mid-priced Riesling at £60. Minerally yet fruity, a good marriage with the sea food. Deserts were nice, especially my crème brûlée, one of the best I’ve tasted. The bill, with two cocktails beforehand and two diet cokes, was initially £300. However, I questioned the fairness of the £30 service charge. Not that the service was in any way lacking, but I just don’t leave £30 tips. The manager gladly removed it and I happily left a £15 tip. In brief, the ambiance was good. The service was superb. The food was excellent. And the decor is so over the top it would have made Liberace blush.

All the sauces overpowered the dishes. The tuna sashimi, chicken and the overcooked sirloin were disappointing . The prawn tempura was bland. Such a shame, why spoil good food. The restaurant is beautiful and we were looking forward to a delicious meal. The prawn toast was ok

Michel and Andrew at the bar made the best Moscow mule as always and their service is top to the professional just like the drinks. I would for sure come back weekly for the cheeky cocktails before my night out with my mates xxx

Absolutely love The Ivy Asia however my visit on Friday 1st Nov was disappointing. The service let you down which is unusual so I'm not sure whats changed but was very disappointed.

After ordering our meal it arrived but it was stone cold. I had ordered prawns and my friend had ordered chicken. These foods particularly should be very hot. The food was taken away and returned only to find. They had not given me prawns this time I had been given chickpeas. So unfortunately I had to send it back again. I think as a way of an apology I should of had a free drink free pot of tea a desert and an apology. It appeared that they were all too busy to give us any attention. Very disappointed will not be going back

Really friendly staff and the food was superb. They also had a DJ and live sax whilst we dinned which added to the atmosphere.

I have been to quite a few top tier restaurants globally, really looking forward to my first experience to an Ivy restaurant. My first experience, well got seated didn’t see a server for 15 minutes, menus were missing set menu so we didn’t know what they were, asked for set menu. Ordered starters came out at different times, not acceptable. Service was really bad, food times waiting really bad, Food not that great, I have had better take aways. Ivy not for me sticking to independent restaurants who need customers rather than just going for a name THE IVY. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED, NEVER again for me and will be telling my friends, TERRIBLE

Our first time to this Brighton Ivy Asia. Food was superb as usual. The duck salad starter was amazing, the flavours were fabulous and tased so fresh as well. The beef was cooked perfectly too. Could not fault the food at all and the portion size for all dishes were surprisingly generous. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The music also was really good, if we are ever back in Brighton we will 100% be back!

Excellent food but seating very cramped and tables are WAY too close together. But naughty given the price. People at the Nandos I walked past had more space.

Really disappointed, beautiful venue, but booked afternoon tea which they no longer do! Wouldn't have minded if they had told us that but they just delivered a dessert selection only ,7 desserts each!

Beautiful venue, let down by very poor service. Twice delayed drinks, starters delivered 25 minutes apart, mains delivered in part, then waited 15 minutes for accompanying rice and greens to appear, and by that time the mains were luke warm.

For me ! I love this venue. My only suggestion would be dimmer control on the floor lighting. Take it down slightly in the evenings. Other than that, I will keep coming back.

Not quite the celebration we hoped. Don’t get me wrong the food was still good but there were a few things that fell short of what we expected, you be the judge. We made this reservation for my 45th birthday and said so on the booking, which was two days prior. We arrived 20 minutes early, but we were told our table was still in use so might have to wait until our reservation time. Unfortunately though they had no room at the bar so were told to go for a walk. Well, a little difficult when you can’t walk much due to a disability. So we sat outside on their metal chairs. However there were two groups of people that came in after us who had reservations also for the same time but for some reason they were asked if they would like to go to the bar! Ok so maybe as we weren’t taking lots of photos and pouting made us less worthy. Who knows? We went back in at our reservation time but no, still not available, but we were allowed to stand next to the DJ. After another 5 minutes we were shown to our table. Once at our table I shared my Ivy reward card and we were asked if we were here for a special occasion. So we were a little disappointed that that info hadn’t made its way to our server, but we told him, however there was no glass of Cuvée, but we didn’t make a point of it, we just ordered some drinks and decided to enjoy the night. Frustratingly, despite booking under the premier experience package, this also didn’t make its way to the server, and then once we told him we ended up waiting 50 minutes for food to start flowing. The food was amazing as it had been the last time but the experience was putting a little bit of a dampener on the evening. We got through to dessert after 2 hours and I did get a chocolate with happy birthday written on it though. Not all bad! Although, when you leave and walk past the lady at the desk by the door, perhaps she could have taken the time to look up and said goodbye with a smile rather than barely even acknowledging us.

Visited here to celebrate two special birthdays. Atmosphere is fantastic and the whole restaurant has been designed beautifully, including the ladies toilets which are definitely worth a visit! We ordered five small and two large dishes to share with a group of four. Waiter was fantastic and very personable. We went on a Thursday which was quieter than normal and meant we weren’t rushed so could enjoy the dishes coming out as they were ready.

Came here for our anniversary, we were both really excited about this meal out and told our friends and family. However our experience did not match our expectations whatsoever. We arrived and were told the menu we had pre booked no longer exist so they gave us a more expensive one. Then we were sat in the corner of the restaurant where we were just completely forgotten about, we had ordered our drinks and they were just constantly trying to up sell up after already ordering, do you think I want a bottle of wine along with 2 beers? We then ordered our starters, the wrong one came out and the actual starter we ordered came 20 minutes later. It was impossible to get anyone’s attention. We then sat with our starters in front of us for a following 40 minutes and when we asked someone where our food was they laughed it off. My food was burnt on the top and flavourless and my partners dish was mediocre at best. We were both really upset and disappointed, we asked for the bill and then again trying to up sell up for desert when we were clearly unhappy and wanting to leave. It left a bad taste in our mouth and was a waste of money and an anniversary.

This was a bit disappointing. Decor not as good as other Ivy restaurants and I have been to nine others. Food was OK. Service pretty mediocre. We had to ask for most things and found the staff a bit too nonchalant and inattentive. This Ivy Asia needs someone more upbeat and proactive to be in charge. I won't be going back.

We had the ivy Asia experience for £48 per person for lunch and I was definitely worth it, drinks were not included though but desserts were. The food was very tasty and the staff were really pleasant which is always a plus when eating out.

Popped in for lunch on a Wednesday. Thought it would be quiet but it was really busy. Lovely staff, very friendly. Yes, it is expensive, but you are paying for the spectacular decor. There are loads of eateries in Brighton, but, this one makes you feel posh!! Worth every penny. Will go again.

Went for dinner the other day, our server was absolutely wonderful. Really helped with guiding us through the menu. The food was great and the cocktails were as well. My friend, who is gluten free had loads of options and really enjoyed herself. The music contributed to a great atmosphere. I will be returning
