I ordered six pizzas for my son and his friends for £87. I could have got better pizzas from the local supermarket. They were tiny and the topping non existent. The margarita was just a pizza base with melted cheese. Disgraceful!

We came here the evening before my wedding. All the food was excellent and the environment was warm and calm. Gabi and Las were excellent servers who treated us very kindly. Im very happy we chose to book here.

Went on Saturday (11/01) to celebrate a friends daughters birthday. Group of 7. Had a really lovely meal. Food was perfect, and the staff were exceptional- attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Service quick even though the place was busy. We had a lovely big table upstairs. They helped us with our own birthday cake and I must give a special mention to the male staff member who was so kind and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Highly recommend and we hope to return- live far away but would go out of our way to come back

Waited 10 mins to be served for a drink and placed food order, 30 mins later the starter finally came, waited another 25 mins for main meal which wasn't worth the prices you pay staff weren't very friendly, walking round eating Wouldn't rush back as not worth the money

This place was nice food but very poor service had to wait like 30 minutes for food and staff didn't seen bothered you was waiting and it was quite expensive

Me and my sister decided to come for a Christmas meal and we had a lovely time. We were seated early and thoroughly looked after during our time there. The staff were friendly and attentive! We had our food in next to no time (which was great because we were starving!) Such a positive experience, thank you :) I would highly recommend! If you are debating pudding, I’d save a bit of room! They are delicious!

Service was excellent our server Ramona was amazing! Excellent customer service to us but also witnessed for others. Customer left umbrella and Ramona ran after them. Food was lovely!

They were very accommodating with us. Despite being a busy time, they reserved a table for us so we could come back later. We had a warm welcome and the waitress was very attentive. All the staff were friendly. One of our dishes was a little late, but she went out of her way to sort it out. Our food was delicious, our daughter even cleared her plate. The atmosphere was perfect. The whole experience was, we only had a main course, because we had to go off to the panto otherwise we would have stayed longer.

My boyfriend and I came for an evening meal which I had booked online before hand. When we arrived it was very busy and we were seated on a table right next to the door. With it being so busy people were in and out making it very cold (it's December), I had to keep my coat on for the entire meal. My boyfriend asked a waitress if we could move somewhere a bit warmer, pointing to a table that had just been cleared and she said unfortunately there was nowhere else, the table we had seen was reserved. She then went on to say that she didn't like seating people on the table we were on. So my question is why did she seat us there, what is the point in booking a table if you are only going to get given the worst table in the restaurant? After we had eaten I went to use the toilets which were upstairs and to my surprise there was a whole room of empty tables. While sitting on our table next to the door, we watched the staff turn multiple people away claiming they had no tables. What a joke! Food was average, service was poor (we ordered online after waiting 15 minutes for even a drinks order to be taken) and the atmosphere was horrible. Worst ASK Italian I've ever been to, will never be returning!

We popped in here for a break in Christmas shopping. There was a definite atmosphere when we told them we hadn't booked (in this situation it's absolutely fine to say no, we know it's running up to Christmas but it didn't feel welcoming.) The other deal breaker was my wife loves a strong cup of tea. Most tea bags are commercial and not very strong so my wife asks for another tea bag to be put in the pot. We were informed we would be charged for two pots of tea if they did this. Ridiculous, you've lost potential custom for the price of a few pence on a lunch bill of £50. Overall it was OK but we won't be returning.

Ramona was absolutely amazing!! We came out for a Christmas treat when our son was performing in the town and she lavished attention on our children ensuring that the children had a wonderful time and we enjoyed meal. Thank you ASK Italian.

Came here for my friends birthday. We all had a lovely time. Food was yummy. Staff were all so lovely and helpful. Stephen our server was great. Lots of choice of food, they take allergies seriously and have great veggie options.

Ramona, who served us, was really professional. She was attentive, caring, funny and very polite. My daughter wasn’t sure about which food to order and she was kind to explain and advise. I would give her 10 out of 10 ☺️ Happy customer 🥰

The waiting staff were attentive and helpful and I was not made to feel at all uncomfortable dining alone. When the waitress brought my mushroom risotto she also brought parmesan to grate over it, which I thought was a nice touch. It was fairly early on a Tuesday evening and, although not busy, there were a number of couples and small groups in so it didn't feel empty

Everything was great including the staff apart from seemed a little confused if you were going to order via the table app or wait for table service.

Enjoyed dinner with a old school friend yesterday. The service was as always excellent and as this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Town, the food was delicious. We both went for a main course with a soft drink each, Coke Zero and Raspberry lemonade which by the way is certainly refreshing. My guest enjoyed the Beef Brisket Pappardelle while I went for the old boring but traditional Spag Bolognese saving plenty of room for a massive slab of my favourite Bailey's Tiramisu. My old School friend took advantage of the new dessert menu and opted for the Lemon. A wafer thin lemon produced from White Chocolate with cheesecake biscuits. The venue was extremely clean and our meals were served within 10 minutes of being ordered. We opted for a mid-afternoon attendance, so it was nice and quiet. Excellent all round 10/10.

Amazing time. We were served by Gabriela who was kind, quick to help and amazing with the children. We came with 3 kids (4, 6 & 7 yrs) and the starters came out quickly to keep them entertained. Even better as it’s was kids eat for £1 too! Highly recommend this place for dining with children.

We are a group of 10 friends. From booking to day of the meal receiving a phone call off the Manager asking where in the restaurant we wanted to sit the service was excellent. We decided to have a table upstairs, so we could have a chat ( but noisier downstairs). We had one waiter who served us, unfortunately we didn’t ask his name but he was attentive and efficient as well as friendly. Food was delicious, so 5 stars from all of us! Our group had a great lunch at the Shrewsbury restaurant . The service was quick and everyone really enjoyed their food. A great choice for a large group ( over 50 people in our case).

Came for a meal with my partner on our weekend away, the food was good, my partner enjoyed hers more than I did mine, price wise very fair in todays market, staff were excellent & very helpful.

Pesto and cheese dough bites, best starter we've ever had. Anywhere.

Food was nice but after it was served we were forgotten about and had no more contact from the staff. Nobody came to ask about desserts or the bill. We tried to catch their eye but they looked away and carried on serving other people who had arrived after us. We wanted to order our child's dessert which was included with her meal but waited 20 mins before we gave up and paid online using the QR code on the table. Went downstairs and asked for the dessert to take away which we got, with an apology which was fair enough, but we will go somewhere else next time where hopefully the service is better.

Food lacks flavour and does not match the images on the menu. No response when you contact customer service either.

Always good with the kids and good food too.

Our waiter was the best, we were a group of 4 teen girls and our waiter was so funny and nice, he matched our vibe, I recommend that waiter to any teenagers coming to ask italian, 10/10. Our food also came faster than usual, and it was really good. Jack deserves a raise!! Delicious

Went on a Wednesday and wasn't aware of free dough balls so that was nice, they were a bit spicy as an FYI. We enjoyed our meal, I wasn't expecting my main to be what it was but that's on me for not looking online first, I had the Pollo Milanese, felt like it sounded fancier than it was, it was still lovely but I would have pizza/pasta instead next time. Starters were lovely, Arancini was so nice 👌 Service was excellent and would definitely return.

Me and my partner spent the afternoon at the Ask Italian in shrewsbury. Our experience was spectacular. The servers were lovely and very helpful. They had a lot of options to choose from on the menu. When we ordered our food didn't come long afterwards which was perfect. When we were eating we kept saying how nice the food was, it was mouth watering. And we ordered dessert which were sickly but so nice. And when we left the staff were very polite. Would definitely come again

Warm welcome and thoughtful words in addressing any allergy. Never seen that before, a full book detailing any food and drinks with allergens, advices and recommendations. Another waitress came to us taking orders, she already knew and was made aware by her colleagues beforehand. Well done !!

Extremely courteous, helpful and friendly staff. We were served by Las and, like the rest of the staff could not have been any more professional. The manager at Shrewsbury could not have been more accommodating, efficient and helpful. We had just planned to go for a light lunch, but ended up having three courses and coffee due to the excellent experience.

Date night dinner, after movies. Dropped in to Ask Shrewsbury. Quiet but not too quiet. Service by Sophie excellent, enough attention without being overbearing. Matched the beef dishes with a Sicilian red, just right. Been a while since we have been, will be back a bit more frequently

We arrived late on Sunday evening and were the only people present as it was just before schools returned. We'd had a long drive from Stansted and so were grateful for a friendly welcome. We ordered a mushroom starter which we shared, it was tasty and plenty for two. Then we shared a pizza and salad and some wine. A lovely evening made better by great service from Stephen and the staff at Shrewsbury Ask Italian. Thank you!

One of my favourite restaurants in Shrewsbury. Amazing atmosphere and great approach to the customers. Highly recommend to visit!

Salad was very small and cost £15.95 with the additional feta cheese. Considering the cost it is over priced for the portion. My wife asked for no peas, the waitress did not ask if there was something else she would like in place of the peas. My own main course Manzo Picante was fine well cooked and plenty to eat.

Marianna was a very welcoming host and server. She made good recommendations and made my partner and I feel very comfortable. She is an asset to the team in Shrewsbury and we will likely return when we are next in Shrewsbury.

Excellent lunch today - my friend had the vegan pizza and the lemon tart; I had the mushroom risotto and tiramisu. All dishes were delicious. I have soya intolerance which was very well catered for. Service was superb.

A nice visit with friends. The manageress and server were pleasant and we all enjoyed our meal. Always a good choice on the menu and a convenient location on the square.

A great return, after too long. Our waitress was Vanessa and she was very attentive and especially took time to explain how gratuity was included in the bill, how we could change it either way, which we thought was extremely honest and open. We look forward to our next visit.
