Ateesh Restaurant in Northumberland

Ateesh restaurant looks beautiful, the service is superb and the food fabulous. The menu provides lots of enticing Middle Eastern dishes and the portions are generous. I can’t wait to return.

The kebab was okay but had a strange marinade that really overpowered the meat - not very authentic. Service was not the best - the staff don’t seem to know the menu well enough to understand food orders without explanation. The restaurant is decorated nicely, but parking is limited. There is *much* better Iranian food in the North East for a lot less money.

Everything is really nice, just every time we book a table, as soon as we walk in one of the waiter says I need table in 45 mins or in 1 hour!. It’s not nice at all to say that as soon as we walk in, you add pressure on customers to order and eat quickly and can’t really enjoy their time and you have so many empty tables (Please stop that)

Best food and costumer service 💯💯💯

Great food and restaurant BUT 1) there is no wheelchair access (my Mum came with us and is wheelchair bound); 2) you need more waiting staff (I asked 2 people for a napkin and finally got one after 10 minutes); AND why do you charge £6 for the sauces (which should be standard with a platter). I’m visiting from London and have lived 20 years in Newcastle and I have never seen this. Just put the sauce costs into the main meal price as this really lacks style. You can’t have meat without any sauce.

Amazing place. Food was superb, and the interior is very nice. Decent price also which surprised us for a meal out like that.

Super friendly staff and generous portions of tasty options to choose from. All five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Will definitely be returning.

Great restaurant serving good Turkish/Persian food. Weekday Lunch, 4 course meal for £20 is also a great deal considering you get a good portion.

I recently celebrated my wife's birthday at the Atash restaurant and I have to say that our experience was disappointing. I had called ahead to book a table and requested that a birthday cake with candles be brought to our table after dinner. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our table was not ready, which meant we had to wait a long time. To make matters worse, the staff completely forgot to bring out the birthday cake even after we had finished our meal, I would have expected better service and attention to detail from a restaurant with such a reputation. I hope they can improve their service in the future.👎🏼

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. Very instagramable📸. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu. It is a bit pricey but it was definitely worth it.

A group of baldies enjoying a few drinks and booked ateesh for food, love a Turkish and I've been around a bit and this is the best about imo, wonderful meats, breads, dips, we all went for the kings platter, flavours off the scale, washed down with a beautifu redl malbec, staff all on the button, wonderful experience.

Love the dining room! Touch of Logan’s Run about it. We were vibing. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. The Kings Platter plus a few extra bolt-ons satisfied seven hoggish baldies. The Malbec was stunning. It was such a rewarding dinner. Succulent and flavoursome meats. Delightful sundries.

The best food we’ve eaten in a long time. Decor was beautiful, immaculate, staff were amazing and the food was outstanding. Our first visit and will definitely return we’ve had a perfect evening, thank you!

First time visit upon a recommendation. We were not disappointed. We visited on Friday for the lunch menu, £20 for 4 courses. The food was incredible, fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour. Great value for money ,we were stuffed!lThe two front of house staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. We will return.

Food is universally great and the portions are generous. Every visit we have experienced great and friendly service. Can't endorse this place highly enough. Lunch is without parallel, just make sure you don't have dinner plans!

We went to this restaurant following a recommendation and it was every bit as good as we were told it would be. The service from start to finish was excellent and there are no words to describe how good the food was, other than to say, it was out of this world. Unfortunately we were only visiting the area, so sadly it won’t become a regular for us although, I’d visit the area just to go here again.

Absolutely beautiful food. Gorgeous decor. Great friendly staff. Food was absolutely amazing. Definitely be back. Amaretto sours was so nice too! Chicken and lamb kebabs were out of this world.

Beautiful food and nice friendly atmosphere. Very reasonably priced too! Bill took a bit longer to come than we would have liked but other than that no complaints!

I went with a friend on a weekend before 3pm, a four course meal is £20 and the portion size was really good for a luxury restaurant. I left feeling so full so it was really worth the price paid. I've only been twice, I took my family the week after on a Sunday at 1pm and had another four course meal and tried different dishes this time and wasn't disappointed for the second time. The mojito was under £5 which is great in comparison to other places I have been. The staff were very friendly and were always checking if we needed anything. Lovely decor great for pictures! Definitely a go-to for a nice weekend lunch. (Definitely try the chicken wing starters, it was so good!)

Ordering bars from downstairs was painful but cocktails good

We went as a group because someone recommended it to us and said it had Turkish food. But it's not really a Turkish restaurant, so if you're looking for Turkish food, you might want to try somewhere else. But if you like Iranian food, you can go! We went as a group of 10 people and unfortunately, no one liked the food. All the kebab dishes we ate tasted bad. I'm sorry to say that I don't recommend it.

Food was absolutely gorgeous, could not fault it. Good portion sizes aswell.

My wife and myself dined at Ateesh restaurant Friday evening 20th of September. Both of use have been to the restaurant separately with friends but last night it was the first time as a couple….and it was fantastic. We arrived early and had pre-dinner drinks upstairs in the cocktail bar. We had nice welcome from the bar man and a friendly chat. When our table was ready he took us down to the restaurant and one of the friendly front of house team took us to our table in a booth. We had studied your great menu before we arrived and quickly ordered our starters and mains. While waiting we enjoyed the buzz in the restaurant as it was busy but with great atmosphere. Our food was excellent and we throughly enjoyed the dishes. It is now our favourite in Ponteland & we will definitely visit again.

Lovely, stylish restaurant with good food, however service wasn't that great. A business dinner for 10 and we were urged to leave as they wanted to close (before 10:30pm).

We were a party of 6 at lunchtime visiting Ateesh for the first time. A different experience for us and one that we all thoroughly enjoyed. The food was tasty and beautifully presented and the service was excellent. The surroundings and quality of the restaurant are superb. We had a perfect round table for 6 near the front and soaked up the sunshine in a very relaxed atmosphere

Food was lovely, meat was very succulent. The service was impeccable, genuinely the best service I have ever received. Attentive without being irritating. Everyone was very polite. Really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back.

This was my 2nd time visiting Ateesh and it won’t be the last! Lovely food and lovely staff! I have a five year old little girl and she is always made a fuss of! 🥰. The bill was around £200 but that was for 7 of us with starters and a couple of desserts so around £30 per head which is pretty normal these days.

Visited on a lunchtime for the 4 course lunchtime special. There were 5 adults and 2 children. The food was excellent. As a pescatarian there was still good choice. The mezze was delicious and a must. The service was exceptional. The drinks were also top tier. Could easily go through all the menu. We'll be booking the bottomless brunch in soon!

One of the most wonderful places and food have tried in Norhteats of England. The food and service were second to none, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The drinks were outstanding, Great place and fully recommended 👌

Amazing persian food, the restaurant clearly source fresh produce. The service was great and staff were very attentive. We were surprised to find this gem on our way from Edinburgh back to London.

Really enjoyed the food, delicious and plenty of it. Not really impressed with the decor, plastic flowers! Staff very pleasant, although our waitress seemed a bit distracted, constantly looking into the distance while taking our order, didn’t engage with us at all. Thankfully we got what we ordered!

Wow! Incredible food and amazingly attentive service. Couldn’t fault the meal we had! King prawn stater, spring roll starter and two Adana mains. Lamb was delicious. We will definitely be back!

We eat out and travel a lot and it’s not often that we see such great service AND food and drinks. The two members of staff serving us were second to none - couldn’t have been better. They were also so friendly and kind to us. And the food and drinks were just perfect. The attention to detail we saw, even on the small things, was impeccable. We’ve raved about you guys to everyone we’ve spoken to since and really wish you guys the best success - you deserve it.

First time we’ve been to Ateesh, I’m asking myself why we left it so long, was fantastic from start to finish, only thing that was missing was more customers. We had the lunchtime special, four courses for twenty quid, was absolutely lovely and amazing value too. Will definitely be back 👍👍👍👍

Great food and atmosphere, staff very attentive. Good value for money used to eating in town and made a special journey to Ponteland. Only issue is parking managed to get a lift there and taxi home which cost £40.

We dined at Ateesh in Ponteland today and probably the nicest meal out I've had in a while. I opted for the £20 4-course special, and the portions were incredibly generous; I had to take half my meal home. To start, I enjoyed the hummus mezze served with a large, freshly baked flatbread. The coal-cooked wings were a delicious starter. For the main course, I ordered the adana chicken wrap with chips, followed by baklava for dessert. The quality of the meat was outstanding, perfectly chargrilled, and bursting with flavor. The staff were exceptional, offering to take our coats and ensuring each course was served promptly. The restaurant itself was beautifully clean and had a trendy vibe. Absolutely fantastic experience will definitely be back!

incredible drinks, food, dessert and service fully halal and offer non alcoholic drinks for those who do not want alcohol overall super impressed by this place, the steak was IMPECCABLE - extremely soft and succulent and portion size was perfect, prawns for starters were really tasty and very flavourful for dessert had their lime cream cake - so soft and perfect balance of flavours, i highly recommend this place

Food was amazing just too pricey

Was lovely would return. Recommend double checking if everything is halal and make sure you tell the waiter (if ordering mocktail) non alcoholic. Parking next the the restaurant is a myth, but you can park behind near the church for free if going in the evening.

Food OK but no better than many a place that charges far less, service attentive but without soul, decor the sort of blingy fakeness that passes for upmarket these days. Not my cup of tea, but if you like false eyelashes and Love Island you'll probably think it's great.

One of the best meals out in a long time. We had The King platter which had a selection of meats cooked to perfection. Service was perfect, very attentive and the cocktails were delicious. Must try the botanist 👍 This is our second time here and can’t wait to go back

Good food and service everytime.

This was a great little spot!!! I had never heard of Ateesh before until my friend suggested it. I loved it here so much!!! The food was beautiful and fresh! I loved all the salad. The staff and service was amazing! All the staff were super happy, attentive and upbeat! They were great at recommending dishes and were super attentive with my nut allergy (some places are useless). I asked if a cake could be brought out for my friends birthday and as they did they joined in singing happy birthday. Really nice vibe here. I will defiantly be returning super soon!

Staff, food, vibe, everything was amazing!

Had a really nice meal and all our food was tasty. The stand out thing was the staff who were so good with my dad who has dementia.

Great food and atmosphere. The dumplings were great, very different and the pide was exactly how I expected. Can't fault the kebabs either, great grilled BBQ flavour and spiced just right.

Food was brilliant and the atmosphere was amazing. A lovely restaurant. The services could of been brilliant but was average as we had to wait a bit for a table, and then no one offered to help with our coats whereas other customers were asked about their coats/jackets. Anyway, the food and the atmosphere was brilliant for us to return.

It’s a nice restaurant, very aesthetic. Food can be hit or miss but when it’s done right it’s nice. I came here with a friend. From the beginning when they sat us down the workers were rushing a lot. We mentioned several times we need 5 minutes to browse the menu but another one waiter comes along to take our order the very next second. About 4 different workers approached us in under 5 minutes. It made us quite uncomfortable. The restaurant was quite busy but I noticed the table with 2 people were not approached as much as my table. It could possibly be because we are visibly Muslim and obviously won’t be ordering alcoholic drinks. So none of waiters pestered other tables since they were all drinking and ordering multiple drinks. Basically more profit to the business. The food was decent but the waiters seemed to lack professionalism. We even got the bill twice , that’s how much they wanted us out of the building. One of waiters also looked visibly annoyed when we decided to want desserts as well. Whilst I understand they were under a lot of pressure but it’s still important for all customers to be valued

Was taken to lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had chosen the 4 course lunch. This was the first time we had sampled Persian cooking ( it was fantastic). The serving team were very attentive and non intrusive. Will certainly visit again.

Total hype. No Persian/Iranian decor, nor music, nor atmosphere and not a single Iranian table and bar staff. RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. Much more expensive than London and North East genuine Iranian/Persian restaurants and eateries. The food was OK. One visit was more than enough. Total reap off, e.g a pot of Earl Grey tea for 3 person £25. You guess the rest of prices. 👎👎👎

Just excellent, only reason the atmosphere is down is because we chose to go on a Monday afternoon, our choice. Will be back again though when it's busy. Thank you to the staff food was brilliant.

Not long open so very bright and clean, great interior design, a nice selection of seats with booths around the sides. Enjoyed a lovely meal, absolutely fantastic servers every one of them, food was great. Could do with a sign at the top of the stairs for toilets 😂 it's a bit confusing. Will certainly return.

I would've given 5 stars but there was something hard in my kebab, possibly a piece of bone. Food was amazing and staff were very friendly. I would recommend sharing rice as it's a very large portion. Chips were fabulous!! We shared meze to start and I'd highly recommend the aubergine and egg meze along with the beef sausage and falafel. It was the best falafel I've ever tried. Very tasty! Cocktails were fantastic. I would highly recommend 👌🏼

Dreadful food cold service absolutely substandard been here 4 times as a local to the village to support but only ever gotten worse.Never again.

Four of us dined on a Saturday night and we all found the entire experience spot on. Excellent food, extensive menu and very pleasant surroundings. Prices were on a par with similar good quality venues.

This was the second time we have visited Ateesh. The food is delicious and really good value for money. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. They made our meal special for my partners birthday and even sang happy birthday when they brought our dessert out. We also had cocktails upstairs afterwards. We love the atmosphere here and would highly recommend.

Booked here for my partners birthday, we found the food to be OK I have spring role starter and lamb shank main, partner also had spring roles with steak for the main, asked for chunky chips, when these arrived they were frozen chips from a bag, not what we were expecting at this place. Also had drinks in the upstairs bar which is nice. All in all I was a bit disappointed with our food.

Amazing. Book now. The lunch menu is 4 courses for £20 between 12-3 everyday and is the best value for money meal I’ve had in the north east. The fresh bread with the mezze was divine. The sucuk, wraps and baklava were great. The place is well designed with lots of space and seating. The fit out is classy. There’s free parking at Thornhill Road car park or parking with a purchase at Waitrose (but you only get an hour and a half - which is a bit tight). They do however charge £1 for a fingerbowl of cheap ketchup.

We booked the private dining room upstairs for a family birthday and it was wonderful. Exceptionally attentive staff, beautiful food and gorgeous surroundings. Highly recommended!

Extraordinary climate and feast. We appreciated food and beverages here for around three hours. Despite the fact that it was getting exceptionally full, the help was wonderful, and we were never rushed to arrange our supper or leave our table. Would return
