Popular pub, great menu and efficient staff. Good offers on different days of the week. Food always a good pub food standard. Nice to meet friends here as tables as well placed.

It was my wife’s Birthday & we arranged a family get together meal. The meal that I wanted which was the steak & ale pie was not available so I chose steak, We all really enjoyed our meals but the best be far was what my wife chose she had the 8 hour slow cooked rib of beef omg that was amazing and will definitely be what I have from now on.

Visited for Christmas Day lunch with my Dad. We had a great time so wanted to say a huge Thank You to all the staff who worked so hard on Christmas Day. We we're booked in for 2pm. Arrived a little early and told our table would be ready at the exact time we booked so had time to grab a drink. At 2pm we were called to be seated so it was all very organised. Staff were all friendly, professional, helpful and cheerful. It was obviously absolutely packed out on Christmas Day so they were working extra hard to give great service. Plenty of checks to see that we were fine, that the food was up to standard and drinks order checks. Getting a Christmas card was a really nice little touch too. Food was brilliant - we really enjoyed the meal from starter to desert. Went with non-traditional options as the menu had some great choices and accommodated some little adjustments. Thanks to you all for a lovely Christmas Day.

Staff member was very miserable, 'Mandy' (I think?) When we arrived on Christmas eve the attitude of the staff member was terrible. At first I thought it was me over reacting, but, before I said anything, the rest of our party commented that they couldn't understand why she was so rude to me, it gives you the impression that if you're in regularly, then, you get treated we respect, as I went in for a second drink, I got ignored by the same person in flavour for someone she was on first name terms with. I get it's a difficult time of year for bar staff, but, I always approach everyone being overly nice so if i had recieved 10% of that back I wouldn't be writing this review.

Very goog food and the prises are very reasonable too, the staff very nice and always helpful

Called in for a spot of lunch on Monday. Great value meal and great service from Sam. He was very personable and recommended other meals we might like to try. Very good.

Outstanding food and very reasonably priced drinks too. A wonderful evening here.

It is what you expect, the food isn't exactly the healthiest but sometime you just want to go out and have a drink and grab something that tastes good. At the bar my sister ordered steak without the chips and to add a salad. The server directed her to the option for steak and salad which saved a little money so she was very happy with that. We made ammendments to a few of our dishes and there was no fuss. All of it came out correct and didn't take that long. Drinks were great and there was a good selection of gins that I haven't seen in alot of other bars in the area. (I suggest the cherry bakewell gin.) We found a parking space easily and it was a nice temperature when we stepped inside.

Would never ever go back!! Staff didn’t know the menu! Gluten free menu was awful! All food was awful left the food as a group as all 4 meals were awful! Really disappointed in the staff not having knowledge or being friendly! No photos taken left hungry and super disappointed

One member of staff was more interested in her friend and her phone than the customers. While the other girl was running round dealing with customers and clearing tables. We had eaten our mains ordered dessert they had arrived the table still hadn't be cleared. She was to busy talking on her phone and to her friend. We asked for the to be cleared at which she just rolled her eyes, her friend stood commenting then they went to the room were the glasses are washed and continued pointing at us. When we got up to leave the waitress and friend stood by there table continued there school girls behaviour. We have been long term customers and have never been treated like this disgusting

It very nice experience and much appreciated

Struggled to get a family table. Loads reserved but not many people arriving at the time we were there. Chicken skillet was good. Burgers were flavoursome. Small children struggled to get on and off stools as we were right next to tv on high table.

Popped in for a lunchtime visit, but the waiting time was 40 minutes, very busy and popular, so we only had a drink, and we will return one day but early enough to dine.

Lovely pub and extremely friendly staff , great atmosphere for families , we whee served by mandy and Colin at the bar , Ruth on the floor all three where fab and very helpful 10 out of 10

Friendly, tidy pub. Food is good value. Parking is easy & staff are very helpful. Renovations are beautiful.

If you allergies then avoid this place. Only 1 gluten free option in the menu and they will not swap things to allow more choice. I asked for a naan bread to be exchanged for chips but they would not do that. I would have thought it was fairly easy to put a kebab on chips rather than bread but it was too much trouble.

Came to the badger box last week and was greeted by a very nice bar man called Joe I believe, he was very accommodating with what beers they had in stock and the food I had with my wife was very nice, I would recommend this pub to anyone. Also I live in Kirkby so it’s easy to get to.

Lovely food, and really good service

We had booked a table but, we arrived very early and they let us have the table straight away. The food was good and the prices were average. The staff were very polite and friendly. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because there was dropped food on the floor which should have been cleaned up.

booked a table, but when we told the bar staff this, they pointed in the general direction of the tables... basically look for yourself. also when one of our party asked about a coffee or a dessert she was told they stopped serving these at 9.pm. we did not know this.. it was not anywhere we could see to say that... finally one of tge fussy ones in our group ordered 2 portions of chips... the portions were very very poor... not many chips on the plate. overall very disappointed in our evening. c

Great night celebrating my birthday . The Skas band were fab . Table of 18 for food and drinks . The staff and service was first class and the food offered good value for money. Thankyou for a lovely evening

Had a lovely meal yesterday, was served by a lovely young girl grace, me and my family will deffo be back.

I went for a drink on 22nd Thursday night I pop after work, but the designed to eat there as the food looked good. So we sat down order the food and more drinks it came out in a good time, and our server shannon could not do enough for us she was so polite. I will go back again.

The WORST food me and the wife have ever had. I had the mixed grill, and all the meat was tasteless. The chips were hard. My wife had the roast beef dinner the mashed potatoes were lumpy and the beef was dry. Will never go back

Myself and my family went to The Badger Box Thursday night. The food was good value for money and we didn't wait long for it. The young lady who was looking after us was called Shannon. She was a delight. Very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. She made our visit pleasurable and so we shall be returning.

Came to badger box last night for a family meal it was a large family gathering so there was a lot of food and drinks ordered the food was absolutely 5 * but the lovely waitress who served us was Shannon and what a wonderful waitress she was nothing was too much trouble , as we had a few children with us they changed their minds several times about the food they wanted but Shannon just said its fine we are a family friendly pub and love to see families here , she bought our drinks over very quickly as well as our food we also had our elderly parents with us who are sometimes a bit picky but Shannon took her time with them and talked to them like she was talking to her own grandparents she even got them laughing they absolutely loved her . This is a 5* review because everything was absolutely lovely, food was lovely and hot we all had a fantastic evening and special thankyou to our waitress Shannon who without a doubt helped make it a great night

Came in today for some food was greeted by the lovely staff who were all so welcoming. Got served by a young girl called Chloe who had a smile and was very helpful in helping us make decisions on food and drinks. Definitely will be coming back and giving recommendations out to friends and family. Very nice pub and food was great.

Waited just over an hour, which wasn't a problem, we had been told that, had a steak flat bread meal that came out cold, Sent it back, it had the steak and 4 lettuce leaves on it, didn't look like the picture at all, the the waitress did ask if she could get me something else and I did decline, hadn't got time to wait for anything else *not been able to email you

Been going to the badger box for several months now and the service from the staff is always very welcoming and friendly. The food is also very good with a good variety of choices. Keep up the good work..

Great family pub serving great beer and food, the staff are ace as well.

Ordered two burgers with extra onion rings and coleslaw to share and two aperol spritz. Firstly, the aperol spritz they bought out were not aperol, had no aperol in them, and tasted of elderflower. We tried to grab someone's attention but was ignored in favour of them talking to friends. The food came, so we asked them to swap the drinks out then, which shouldn't have taken long. We were most of the way done with the meal when they finally bought the drinks out. The chips were cold and the chicken burger was overcooked. I never received the onion rings or coleslaw, and tried to grab someone's attention again to see where they'd gotten to and again was ignored while they were talking to friends. I was told the onion rings were sitting on the side for ages when I asked for a refund, so why couldn't they look back through the orders and see who'd ordered what? 0/5 - I won't be back.

Great food decent prices big indoor space and huge outdoor space with TV, sheltered seating and a play area for kids I had the beef rib I would 100% Recomend it as it was gorgeous Will definitely return

Probably the best green king pub I've ever visited. The food was delicious. The drinks were very nice and the staff are very friendly and it's very clean and tidy, thank you. Makes a refreshing change from the ones down south.

Went for the first time with my son after driving by for years. Food was good and came out pretty quickly but getting served at the bar was a bit slow and seemed to get ignored by the bar staff quite a bit. Would of been 5 stars if bar staff was a bit more attentive.

I had a very nice Hunters Gammon skillet. Food was excellent.

Went to the badger box today for Sunday dinner and had the half chicken , it was fantastic and tasted like home made. We was served very quickly and asked if everything was ok ? Everything was perfect and the prices are very good..I recommend this place to everyone …see you next Sunday 👍

Customer service very poor .I asked for a drink for me and my husband while my son went to get his ID but lady serving drinks rudely shouted at me as we weren't going to pay and when I paid for it she was so rude towards me as if I was going without paying. I don't know if she don't like our dark Asian colour and look. I asked her name but they weren't sure she was the youngest of all.The lady on the front very helpful though.

Food was ok but didn't get much compared to other Greene King pubs. Menu choice was vast and the atmosphere was good. Just wish the serving portions etc was in line with other GK's

Good pub, great choice and great stafff

I absolutely adore this pub. Beer is great. Food is really nice. Perfect place for family events or just hang-out with friends. Outside area is amazing (in a summer lol). BUT... Please fix female bathroom. All stalls doors/locks are broken, and it's really filthy, no toilet paper in stalls, bins are overfilled. Hubby says that gents toilets are ok.

We visited the badger box Fri 24th Nov. My husband, my mother and myself. I am in a wheelchair and they accomodated me with no fuss and as my mum is blind they ensured we all got to our seat easily The food we ordered arrived promptly, considering we ordered 1 XL Mix Grill, 1 Mix Grill, and 1 Mixed Chicken Platter with chiabatta and fries etc. During the meal, they kindly checked with us to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction. We were extremely pleased with the meal, as it exceeded our expectations. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, allowing us to enjoy our meal without constant distractions. Mum and I had a pitcher of Zombie cocktail and my husband opted for a hot cider. The cider my husband had was outstanding, and it truly had a Christmassy feel to it. I sampled his cider, and I must say, it was on another level. The flavor was exquisite, and it left me craving for more. We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails. The Zombie cocktail was exceptional, although my mother did get a little tipsy as she's not used to drinking. However, it was an entertaining experience, and we will be returning to try out other cocktails on the menu. we are back again beginning of December (already booked) The meals were well portioned and well cooked and value for money, the ice sundae dessert we would have bottomless its that nice hahahahaha The choice of desserts are small but to be honest after you have eaten the ample main you do not want a lot if anything for dessert Overall, our visit to the badger box was a delightful experience. The staff was accommodating, the food was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting I advise booking as we booked for 12 and it filled up pretty quickly. It is clearly a very popular quiet drinking and eating establishment and we can see why. It is a pub we highly recommend if you want a nice meal for a business meeting, friends lunch, family meal or a celebration perfect for all ocassions and something for everyone on the extensive menu.

Very clean, warm and cosy little pub me and my family sometimes go to for a family treat. The staff are extremely friendly with us which adds to our experience. The food is generally really nice and budget friendly. I always order the hunters chicken which I highly recommend to anyone reading this review. In my opinion, the best hunters chicken out of any pub chain.

Good cosy clean pub , didn’t like the fact everything you ordered you had to pay as you went along instead of just paying for it all at the end , we had booked a table but no napkins or spoons for desert , apart from that , food was ok tho mash potato was well picture will show, tasted ok 👍

Called in for quick afternoon drink in the sun, not been in this pub for many years. Beer garden is great- plenty of seating and space, will be bringing grandkids soon. Good drink prices, very reasonable compared to some other pubs

Not a bad place for a drink , but the service is shocking , so slow , they make witherspoons look good , and not exactly valve for money , came here a year ago and was shocking and after my last trip, will not be returning, there is plenty of restaurants to far away , and the 1 member of staff was a complete joke , a young man who not got a clue .

I visited this pub on Thursday evening which was made a suprise meal for me by my family before I move to America alone so this was the last chance we could all be together as a family. We were told the food would be an hour wait (which is perfectly fine) and then when the food came out 2 hours late and freezing cold the shift manager decided to come out with a sarcastic comment of “well I didn’t exactly say 1 hour” that’s not the sarcastic ill mannered comment that you would expect from the shift manager “keeley”. When my mother was respectfully adressing the issue with the food there was no helpful reparations suggested apart from a very defensive staff member not accepting the fact they could possibly have messed up. When we said we wouldn’t like to eat the food given to us (freezing cold) the manager then said once again in a sarcastic manner “ are you not gonna eat that then”. However there was a lovely staff member named Sarah who sincerely aplogised and tried to make it better although this wasn’t down to her fault at all. Really bad experience would not recommend to anybody thinking of going here.

I was in here with family for several nights in a row. Lovely pub , lovely atmosphere and lovely food. It was very busy Thursday evening and we were advised by Keeley that there was a delay on the food . This was no problem for our group. As usual when the food arrived it was as good as always. The staff and management are second to none and I can’t wait to go back again.
