I ate two courses from the Christmas menu and choose the squash soup which was absolutely delicious and delicate, then, for the main course, I ate the fabulous Christmas turkey with yummy gravy, roast potatoes in duck, fat. Drink, Jasmine, tea and green tea, both with the real thing, the real original leaves. Service outstanding, ambience and lighting, beautiful, really beautiful bar. Lovely manager with great charisma.

Very nice brunch in cozy surroundings! We found the place a bit by accident and were impressed by the quality and service :) My friend has never tasted potatoes as good as the ones that came with her omelette!

El personal era servicial y amable y nuestra comida buena con porciones decentes a precios competitivos para la zona. Hemos estado viniendo a Balans durante años, gran ambiente y el personal es muy divertido como se puede ver, Jess, David y Lorie están tan comprometidos y aseguran que lo pases muy bien! Comida deliciosa, gran variedad para todos. David el dueño siempre dice hola y de nuevo está muy atento a nuestras necesidades. 💃🕺🏻

Pricey breakfast mostly good but the one sausage was pure fat and inedible. Balans - please spend a bit more on a decent quality sausage.

Went here with friends for breakfast. Most of us had had full English breakfast which was very nice and a decent portion of decent quality. Small gripe? Plate was cold and food warm. I just like my food piping hot. Service was very good.

And hot spicy potatoes? Well this isn’t the place for you. The food took ages and when delivered reminding me of an 80s omelette, remember when it was oft the only veggie option? It was a thick solid chunk of egg with a bit of cheese, the spicy potatoes just about warm. Rest of party said there’s were ok but not thrilling. It wasn’t busy just not good enough.

This location had everything going for it: - attentive, respectful, servers that did not hover nor did they disappear - music that was in the background (not too loud) - nice ambience with good warm lighting - excellent food that was served hot and well seasoned - never felt rushed to pay up and move on; the contrary, felt I was at home (rarely fell this at a restuarant)

Outstanding friendly service. The fresh fish and chips and the BBQ pork donut are fantastic. The calamari is authentic, fresh, and larger type pieces with a delicious spicy sauce.

I love Eggs Benedict but I was very disappointed with the muffin. It was sliced too thick, the dough was very rubbery which made the yolk impossible to absorb.

I went this morning for breakfast with my friends thinking we would have a lovely time, but I was wrong. My friend I went with had a severe egg allergy and asked for the Vegan pancakes when we all ordered out food, stating she had said allergy. When the food came she was given the wrong pancakes expecting them to be vegan that she soon found out later when she was consistently throwing up, experiencing a serious allergic reaction. The service was also very poor with I had to ask three times to get just a side of beans with a full English and waiting a extensively long time for three cocktails and pancake that are not that hard to make and do not take 35 minutes. And then to top it all off we were expected to pay for the whole bill and service charge while my friend was still being sick in the toilets. I would not recommend coming here to anyone as it is unsafe when you have allergies and the food was cold making it even worse of a experience. The manager was not understanding and did not apologise, the only person who apologised was our server as she felt extremely terrible. If I could give a rating of 0 I would.

They gave my friend normal pancakes when she asked for vegan (she has an extreme egg allergy). The woman serving us was very apologetic but the manager didn’t even come to apologise. She was being sick for the rest of the meal and they wouldn’t give us a full refund.Very disappointed.

Me and my friends went to this restaurant to have breakfast, and one of my friends have a food allergy, which she stated to the waitress. The kitchen mixed up the food and my friend ended up having food with egg in it, which she is allergic to, this caused her to be sick and not able to eat her food. This also made me not eat any of my food as I was looking after her along with my other friends. The waitress who served us was very apologetic which was really lovely but the manager didn’t come over and apologies which was very disappointing. We ended up only getting £25 off the bill which is ridiculous as most us didn’t eat are food and or where inconvenienced by the situation. Would not recommend this restaurant if you have an allergy.

Dinner before the theatre, scallops as a starter, absolutely delicious. Ribeye as main, at £26 felt that I was paying top dollar, needless to say it didn’t disappoint, cooked perfectly and all food seasoned very well. Was looked after by David, very attentive and did an excellent job. Thanks to all FOH & BOH

Absolutely amazing food! My friends and I went for brunch and we all ordered different food and loved everything! I had the Eggs Benedict with lobster and it was incredible. The waitress who served us was really helpful and friendly-in fact all staff we encountered were friendly and took the time to speak to us. I highly recommend.

Wow. So good, from the food to the service.The pancakes with berries was outstanding! I'm not usually a fan of overly sweet breakfasts but this was sensational. Not too sweet and so light and fluffy. The Eggs in Hell are highly recommended also. If you like it spicy then ask for some additional hot sauce.Lovely brunch. We'll be back for lunch...and probably dinner too!

Visited on Fri 23rd October for dinner with my husband & teenage son.The decor is lovely and it's in a great location.We found the restaurant to be very well organised for these Covid times.Staff were very friendly & welcoming on arrival and service was excellent.No complaints whatsoever with our food. Everything was delicious - I loved my Shrimp Thai Curry.All in alll a very enjoyable meal. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to Balans Soho for years and happened upon the Kensington restaurant. The food was, as with all Balans, very high quality and serves a varied menu suiting different tastes. At this time, it was somewhat limited however and the menu extends from breakfast throughout the day. What makes this restaurant stand out is the service. Our server, Charlotte, was absolutely fantastic- fun, knowledgable about the food and wine and brought a really welcoming air for us. Would definitely visit again! Love Mikey and Marcus

Visited Balans with my family for breakfast. Food and service were excellent. Manager Darco was looking after us as like we were his own family. Really nice place, highly recommended.

Fresh off the plane on my first trip to London, I had a great experience at Balans. Great first impression for a cuisine that is always so poorly reviewed. I had the Fish and Chips and it did not disappoint. The server was excellent and actually quite funny and charming. He had great advice for where to go in London. We say two tables away for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, who was quietly enjoying his dinner with two friends. You wouldn't have even known he was there. Great appetizers for the table and great Specialty cocktail menu as well. Maybe a heavier pour, perhaps? But other than that, a wonderful place to eat and drink and relax.

Nice decor and ambiance . The service is excellent , the food can be better .We had yesterday the burgers they were dry and bland . The brioche pudding dessert was excellent , the chocolate pudding was too sugary .

The restaurant has a lovely bistro interior and warm atmosphere , however the food was average, my fish and chips dish was bland and mushy.

I'm never a fan of aenu that has a range of dishes like curry, risottos and burgers as I find they're rarely well done.

We were staying in London and thought we should book for a Saturday evening visit - on arrival it appeared only 3 or 4 of the many tables were occupied.

The food is appalling and just very low quality - I had their fry up and was just so poor I had to send it back

Needed a good breakfast to set us up for the day....my daughter did some research and we ended up here. FABULOUS!!!! From the minute we arrived, the staff were friendly, and very attentive. We ordered 4 different breakfasts....1 full English (me), pancakes and bacon (eldest daughter), eggs benedict with smoked salmon (wife), 2 eggs on toast, with additional bacon, sausage & beans (youngest daughter). Every single thing was brilliant, well presented, sooooo tasty. Even the tea was great. It’s a nice place with a nice atmosphere....it was just getting ready for lunch/brunch, and I guarantee it would be a great place for that too. Definitely worth a visit

A friend and I stopped here for lunch on our way to the Design Museum...it was a wet miserable Saturday afternoon,but the attentive welcome and very pleasant atmosphere soon warmed us up. My friend is vegan and they made sure the dish she chose, a cauliflower and chick pea curry was absolutely animal free. It was delicious so I'm pleased I chose it too...accompanied by a nice glass of rose blush...very fairly priced lunch. I would love to visit again and highly recommend this place for tasty innovative dishes and great service.

I love this restaurant, so low key On the outside & really groovy on the inside. The steak & chips was superb, cooked to perfection. My friend had the Thai curry which was also super delicious & the puddings were amazing. It was excellent value & the staff really friendly & helpful. definitely will be going back.

This is our third visit. Twice before just for a drink but this time for a meal. As usual the service is fantastic and couldn’t fault any of the food. The sourdough bread is to die for!I loved my red Thai prawn curry, others in the group said the haddock was excellent as was the burger and sea bass. So, fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere with attentive service and you have a winning formula. Wish we lived nearer and could go again soon

Me saludaron unas chicas muy amables que me cuidaron muy bien todo el tiempo y me dieron buenas recomendaciones para la comida. Sin embargo, mi experiencia fue arruinada por el propietario / gerente que decidió gritar a las 2 camareras que estaban frente a mí por hablar en español a sus clientes que hablan español. ¿Me estás tomando el pelo? Ni siquiera podía creerlo y me insultaron por las chicas. Nunca volveré solo por él. Ten un poco de respeto por tus empleados. 5 estrellas para los empleados y comida, 0 estrellas para la gerencia.

I worked at this restaurant at the service charge is not for the waiters. They ask the costumers 12.5% and they don't give that to the waiters who deserve it. A couple of time the toast and/or the burger fell on the floor, they pick it up and serve it to the costumers, really disgusting!

After staying at the nearby Tara Copthorne, we came here for brunch (we purposely booked a room without breakfast included).

We enjoyed brunch at this restaurant where the atmosphere was lively and buzzing. The food was good, the service was very attentive and helpful. The cocktails were great too! We certainly recommend it.

Wanted to go for a meal in the area and emailed the restaurant 3 weeks beforehand. They replied saying they will require a £150 holding deposit which will be refunded when you turn up. If you didn't turn up, you would lose it. Fair enough, but email send 'subject to our terms', so emailed restaurant saying, can you send me a link to your terms (wasn't sure if we would lose part or all the holding deposit if only 12 or 13 or our group turned up).

This is an interesting restaurant. I could not work out what the theme of the decor was, or if the food was a particular cuisine. I was with a friend and we tried some of the small plates, in fact I would like to visit again and sample more of them. Service was good and price reasonable.

I became sick within 10 minutes of eating here. I asked if the home style potatoes were fresh or frozen? Usually the quickest determinant if they are gluten free. The manager blatantly lied saying they were fresh. Even when they arrived they looked like the frozen variety. I tried a few but they tasted frozen as they looked like they were coated with starch. And given the immediate reaction my stomach had clearly either deep fried with contaminated oil or contained wheat/gluten.

Feeling the curse of a very busy long weekend this was a much needed oasis with amazing service from Jack who anticipated our needs beyond what’s expected. The food was delicious, in fact the French toast was to die for as was the Bloody Mary and the coffee was also particularly good. We wanted to change things around on the menu and staff were very accommodating, we weren’t made to feel rushed and will definitely be back.

Close enough to the Royal Albert Hall, with engaging menu and helpful friendly staff. Ambience lively and warm, on a cold night and the food delicious, tasty and to be relished.

Tried just about every place for breakfast and Balans is the best by a mile , excellent Bacon ( seems to escape all the other places ) and great vfm Sadly they don't seem to be on Deliveroo anymore - :( a great loss

Oltre all'ubicazione in una zona tranquilla e all'ottimo cibo, lo staff si è dimostrato cortesissimo e disposto persino a conaigliarci come porseguire la serata nella capitale inglese. 5 stelle piene e meritate

The haddock, chips and mushy peas was delicious - super crispy batter and moist fish with wedge like chips. A very large piece of fish! The seafood linguine was enjoyed by others in our group. Note that the restaurant doesn't have a children's menu which could be a negative for some, although there is a selection of 'small plates'. The service was friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

Fuimos 4 días a Londres y un amigo nos recomendó los desayunos de Balans. Fuimos el primer día y volvimos todos los siguientes. El personal super amable, la comida increíble, las tostadas de pan auténtico y las tortitas con plátano alucinantes. ¡Las raciones son enormes!

La hamburguesa insignia estaba bastante buena (yo tuve que compartirla porque es poderosa). Y me encantaron los cocktails, yo me pedí el de tequila, tommy pommy o algo así, buenísimo. El servicio bueno también, muy amorosa la que nos atendió. No es para volverse loco el sitio pero al menos es cosy y agradable.

Stopped in here for a late lunch. Atmosphere and decor of restaurant was very nice, especially the melted candle sculpture. General Manager and service was great. The dishes we tried were excellent. Would highly recommend a visit here

What a lovely welcome! It would be so easy to miss it... Great selection of food and drinks in a quirky restaurant amongst the hustle and bustle of Kensington High Street but it’s definitely the staff that make it!

We had a great breakfast here on a Sunday morning. Poached eggs were a little undercooked but the food generally was good as was the venue. The service however was really sloowwwwwww. It was busy but still.... trying to pay the bill took about 45 minutes. Such a shame.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon & got a seat immediately despite restaurant being pretty busy. Couldn’t fault food, drink or service - all very good. Reasonably priced & good value for money! First visit & would go again next time in London.

We needed an early dinner and this restaurant hit the spot. Staff were friendly and helpful. The offerings were varied. The room was pleasant and not busy early evening and the food well prepared. The Roasted Cod dish was very good. Curry dish was okay, but not special. Nice range of beer.

We booked a late supper here after an evening at the Royal Albert Hall. Varied and delicious menu, grilled squid and nduja starter followed by cornish crab linguine all cooked to perfection. Good value too - cocktails, starters, main courses and bottle of wine £90 for 2 of us including the tip. Will definitely go back when we're in Kensington.

The place is located in Kensington and offers a fresh and healthy (from farms to the table) options. We ordered a classic sub, Mackerel, croquettes and special chicken stuffed and farm fries plus 6 beers and two juices. We spent about 113 pounds. The fresh ingredients make this place interesting and build a desire to try the whole menu. Next time, we will order the burger which seems to have high remarks.

We were welcomed in late in the evening after all nearby places were closed. The staff was welcoming and the food incredible. A very eclectic menu gives something for everyone in every mood. David was the best server we have had in years! Charming & attentive. Must go back. x

Best breakfast Iv had in a long time! I would like to have the same again but I want to go back and try the other food obviously can't wait for my next stay in London as this will be on my list. What I had was called; The high Society eggs Benedict. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!
