A little disappointed with the inflated prices. As beautiful as the view is, the experience lacks finesse being served your wine in a tiny paper cup and being charged £9.45 for the privilege. Rip off! I would expect to pay those prices to be served my drink in a glass. I know it's not practical but then come down on the price, as overheads must be much less than replacing broken glass and cleaning. Again the small sized no frills pizza was equally expensive at £16.99. Between the two of us, 6 tiny cups of wine cost just under £60! Next time I might just take a couple of glasses with an organic bottle of wine for the same price they charge for one cup and sit on the hill and enjoy! 🥰 we would be £50 up at least 🙃

Whenever I have been to Alexandra Palace it has normally been for a concert and as a result there have been plenty of people milling about and getting drinks or snacks prior to going into the event. I did the Parkland Walk with a friend of mine and this brings you out at Ally Pally. We had been walking for some time and needed to get some refreshment and also use the toilet. Fortunately the bar was open and it was warm and welcoming. This was good as it is was quite windy on the top of the hill! Our drinks were quickly prepared for us and we decided to sit outside so we could enjoy the magnificent view of London laid out before us. Highly recommended.

I visited the Alexandra Palace with my husband on Saturday to see the show 'Tom, Dick and Harry' which was excellent. Unfortunately the same can not be said of our experience of the Phoenix Bar & Kitchen. We were greeted at the bar by Adrianna who seemed reluctant to serve us. She said there was no prosecco (on National Prosecco day?) and if I wanted an Aperol Spritz I should go to the outdoor cocktail bar (which was not even open). I settled for a white wine spritzer and my husband had a beer, both served in paper cups. I could have accepted this if I was going outside but Adrianna didn't even ask the question. I sat in the bar area where other customers were drinking from glasses. We ordered pizzas and Adrianna told us that my husband's choice was unavailable so he chose again. When I collected the pizzas it turned out that it was my choice that had not been available so we now had two pepperoni pizzas rather than one pepperoni and a Tricolore. Luckily the two guys on the pizza stand were very understanding and helpful and directed me to the manager who was also extremely helpful and resolved this mess. A replacement pizza was quickly cooked and all was well. I appreciate that the hospitality industry is currently suffering from staffing shortages which impact on the level and quality of service they are able to provide. However, is it too much to ask for friendly service with a smile?

Phenomenal spot for sweeping views but sadly an utterly charmless venue with zero style. The one staff we dealt with was rude and dismissive when I asked why my cocktail wasn’t served in a cocktail glass and said there were no paper straws available even though everyone around me was getting one. Clearly not a serious issue but hospitality staff should treat such queries gracefully. I know there are staff shortages so anyone gets employed I guess, and wages may be poor... so something for management to ponder. Won’t be rushing back.

Was at this place today to have some drinks place the order on the app as per their request but half an hour later still did not have the drink. Went and told the blonde waitress who was not interested at all in what we had to say and we still didn't get our order another 15 minutes later. without joy I had to ask the other waiter who has dreadlocks and he helped us straight away. When I told the blonde waitress again she was very rude to us and was no help whatsoever I asked to talk to the manager which didn't come for another half an hour. not the best experience was expecting a lot better as the manager was no help either and don't think took our complaint seriously. Fell racially discriminated against as we were the only ones having this issue.

After getting past the guards at the entrance, who I believe must have been trained by US passport control, we were escorted by a wonderful lady who stayed with my friends and I for 30 minutes, trying desperately to get the Alexandra Palace phone to work. It refused to take any payments. We spent over an hour doing nothing except trying to order and discussing the incompetence of whoever runs this establishment. Something needs to change at this place. We will never venture here again, that's for sure.

We were so looking forward to meeting up with our friends for lunch, having booked the table weeks ago. We were told that both drinks and food had to be ordered from the Ally Pally App which we had to download. The waitress was nice enough and waited for almost half an hour for the App to load and the order of drinks be processed. I got a confirmation of purchase of 4 drinks but the drinks never came. Since my phone had taken forever to order drinks we decided that the 4 of us would each order our own food from our own phones. Only one of us successfully ordered a burger which did arrive fairly quickly. After having been there for an hour we had no drinks and were gagging. My husband shared his burger with me which was an ok burger but a rotten experience without a drink! Our friends had no luck in ordering food and after sitting for more than an hour in the cold (not their fault about the weather) the waitress suggested we could order manually! What? We waited another 10 minutes and then left. I've tried to complain via The Terrace website but I don't even think that went thru' because it's customary to receive an acknowledgment from a website upon receipt of communication. Nada. All in all, a really lousy experience when we've already eaten in several pubs across London since April 12th with contactless payment at the table. This experience was anything but contactless with the efforts required to download the App and have people breathe over you while trying to do it. It would've been funny except it wasn't. It was a complete pain and a huge disappointment. We proceeded to a pub in East Finchley where we were seated quickly without a booking, ordered from a paper menu and paid contactless.

It was impossible to order with the app. After trying for a long time, we had to ask for help as did other people and eventually a real person took our order but had to pay first and order drinks later and pay for those separately. They then brought the drinks but got the order wrong and had to order again and they still got it wrong. The food arrived in a brown carrier bag and it was vile. No plates or cutlery just disgusting cold 'mexican' burritos full of mostly rice and lettuce. I felt sick and will never go there again.

We can't judge on the quality of the food and drink as we tried to order with their "total contactless" system through their app first and then through their website. The system keeps denying our payment via cc (we used 4 different credit cards) and when we asked the staff if we could order in a different way we have been told that there is no other way to order and pay. We spent almost 40 minutes to try to solve the issue and no one was able to help us trying to find an alternative solution for our order. I would suggest a little bit of flexibility in their way of ordering and pay as tech faults happen and they can loose customers. Glad I didn't go there with my kids. Huge disappointment.

This is a terrace bar- admittedly in a nice location- which charges £5 for admission. Despite that it is dire in every way. It is littered with confrontational notices like the one I identify above. There is an incredibly complicated ordering system- fair different from the normal covid sensible precautions taken by other bars in the area. The food- just burgers- looks very unappetising. The waiting staff are slow and probably very badly trained. There is no fun in coming here. We live locally and would love to use this as a local pub, but until it is properly run that is just not going to happen.

Waited 25 minutes for cold chips. Went inside to ask where they were and were bought wraps. Then asked for a refund to which the lady with the nose ring said they bought them to us but we weren’t at our table. We were the only people sat outside so not sure how that’s possible. She then changed her mind and said we had already had them, also a lie. The chips were then given to us and she rudely said ‘well give me your number back now’. I don’t think some people should work in customer service! And I don’t recommend it. Many nicer pubs a 5 minute walk away in Muswell Hill.

When visiting Ally Pally you must go to the bar it is not outstanding, but a very comfortable setting. The relaxed seating and lack of other bars make it uniquely placed. The prices are reasonable and the service is quite friendly. It often makes a nice end to the reason why you visited the palace. The only downside is the fact it is only worth visiting if you are local or going to an event.

When we arrived unfortunately they had no note of our booking although I had the confirmation email from September and a reminder 24 hours before we were due to arrive. The duty manager came to speak to us and informed us that the booking system had been transferred over and this was maybe where the hitch lay......although the bar was extremely busy before Rod Stewart the duty manager was able to find us a table and was most helpful - 10/10 for customer service. We were served quickly and the waiting staff were so helpful. It's a great location prior to a concert and would return again.

So he was forced to oblige but did not do so happily or willingly food was below average and over priced and not as described on menu .. service was terrible. We sat for 30 mins with ourempty dinner plates in front of us. I had to ask for our desert 3 times which came 40 mins after our main. We were then going to Andy Murray Live show. Appalling service and treatment by the manager who advised that as they were so busy as it was the Ignition exhibition, the booking should not have been permitted. When I pointed out the email confirmation I had received and my son that our booking was showing on her computer screen, she again denied that that was our booking. She eventually 'found' us a table, swiftly trying to hide the 'reserved' notice in the process. We waited a long time to have our order taken, eventually leaving when told that we had to queue at the bar to place our order and the queue being at least fifteen people long. Never again!

Still awaiting main course at this point. Staff hanging around the till / bar area mostly and manager appeared to spend most of his time in the kitchen I assume eating as was chewing when he did appear. Main course was the wrong order and to be fair they did apologise and offered a soft drink on the house. More attention to detail and less chatting with each other would help.

The tables seem to be made of old school gym floors and I was worried about catching my clothes on the rough edge, although I did notice some other tables were finished better and weren't so rough. The food was alright, nothing special considering the prices and there's not a lot of choice on the menu. It has a casual feel, no staff there to greet us or show us to a table and no obvious place to wait at for someone to seat you so we just picked an empty table. You order at the bar with your table number. It's handy if you're going to the hydro or anything in the SECC but I won't be rushing to go back.

DISAPPOINTING So disappointing to give this review, after previous visits had recommended this venue for a pre-show meal, unfortunately do not anticipate a return visit any time soon. Firstly the bottled tap water - I am not sure how long it had been sitting but tasted awful and was warm - asked to change this for bottled water - brought 2 glasses with ice and lemon - but the same disgusting tap water. Meal ordered - Marguerite Pizza and a Chicken Caesar Salad - barely any topping visible on the Pizza and the chicken was like rubber, therefore meal consumed consisted of some pizza bread and lettuce with croutons! Despite almost full plates left - no questions asked if anything was wrong. Sweet - surely this would be better - ordered Chocolate Fudge Cake and Lemon Posset. The cake could have been bounced off the floor it was so hard, while the Posset was gelatine & lemon - one mouthful of each was enough. Coffee - Latte was so bitter could not drink it, although the cappuccino was fine. Can also recommend the Wandering Bear rose wine which was chilled and as description. The staff are young and polite, did not put complaints to them however would have thought when as much food was left they would know something was wrong. Feel strongly that the venue should be aware that not all is well with the quality of food offered.

We ate here for a pre-gig dinner. I like the decor, it's a bit different and quirky. The staff were nice and very efficient. There is actually the bar area and a restaurant area at the other side of the bar, which we didn't realise when we arrived. We'd booked the restaurant but sat in the bar, but the staff said they'd let the restaurant know. :) The menu is fairly basic - burgers and pizzas. We all had various burgers and they were very good. I would say the drinks aren't the cheapest, but you are at a venue, rather than just a bar. Didn't see any desserts on the menu, but I think that was because we were in the bar - the restaurant seems to have these. (not that we had room for dessert, the burgers aren't small!) Overall, I would say it's a good place to come if you're at the Hydro or Clyde Auditorium for an event.

Booked a table for a pre-theatre meal as we were attending a show at the Clyde Auditorium. The place was half empty we ordered our food and were presented with the bill before it even arrived not a good start! Pizza arrived complete with Ikea style meatballs which looked very unappetising and tasted the same and had to be removed to be able to eat pizza, fish n chips was not as described on the menu and the nearest it got to a beer batter was it may have sat next to a bottle on the bar it was as though it was from a packet of frozen fish bought from supermarket. It really was a substandard meal certainly wasn't worth the money. Spoke to two other couples who dined at the same time and they weren't impressed either. Considering this is in a prime location for all the venues it certainly is missing a trick you don't need to have anything fancy just good food at a reasonable price. The only negative would be the price - just a little expensive for me but overall had a lovely dinner and would recommend to friends.

We had to wait and wait and wait. Asked for pudding menu, it never came. Asked for bill, nobody came to take money. When I said we had waited too long the waitress said they were understaffed, they weren't, there were staff hanging around just ignoring customers. Terrible place, never again.....

Booked a table for dinner before a concert at the Clyde Auditorium, mainly for the convenience. However, the meal was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Would certainly book again if/when we go back to the Auditorium.

I booked a table online in advance to ensure I was seated and had time to enjoy my meal before attending a gig. The staff were really nice. I had to ask for my bill a couple of times. I suspect the lack of promptness was due to most customers wanting to get their bill at the same time because they were all attending the same gig. The food was decent enough in terms of quantity and value. I wasn't expecting the walnuts in my salad to be caramelized, I nearly broke a tooth when I bit into one. I would definitely consider eating there again.

We dined here on a Saturday evening, waited a few minutes for our order to be taken but less than five minutes later were served our steak sandwiches and chips - obviously food had been pre-cooked and reheated to be served in that short time. It was quite tough to eat but edible enough. The drinks were a different matter. We ordered vodka and diet coke but they tasted off when they arrived. The server took them away and brought fresh drinks. My friends drink was fine the second time but mine still tasted bad (as if it was too syrupy) but stupidly I did not send it back a second time and drank it. Ten minutes after leaving the restaurant I started being sick and this lasted until the next day, the stomach cramps still with me 4 days later. Now, I don't know if it was the reheated food or the sickly coke in my drink.

Myself, my mother, my daughter and her friend visited for lunch before the x-factor tour (on Sat 13th Feb) and we could not fault this restaurant. Food was excellent, service even better and value for money can be slightly on the high side but because of quality and service we didnt mind too much. The quy (which unfortunately we didnt get his name but I am sure he will remember) went completely out his way to get my mother some diet iron-brew they didnt have at the bar and also gave me a taster of the colslaw before ordering, as I am very fussy about this. Other members of staff were very friendly and helpful too and it made you feel they have very good customer service skills which is a huge part of enjoying your time when out eating. I would like to say - I hope they keep up the excellent service and quality of food as we will return time again and advise others when going to any events at the sse hydro. Well-done everyone!!

We had prebooked for after an event at the hydro. We were seated promptly and food came quickly however the drinks did not. The waiter was very pleasant and apologised about the drinks. Food was nice but overpriced really for what is served. Two of my children ate from the kids menu which is reasonable. Burger and chips. The burgers were huge, really be better half the size as quite difficult for a child to eat. We probably won't return again purely as it was very pricey. Especially drinks . Orange cordial £2. A cocktail £7. Would be good if they had Capri sun on offer or child friendly bottles of water as the glasses are quite heavy and large

We had dinner here before a show at the Armadillo. We quite enjoyed it, if anything it was better than expected. Given its location, and the fact that there was a popular show on at the Hydro, meaning that the less formal eating areas were very busy, it was pleasantly quiet. We will come back the next time we go to a show here.

Service was good. Wine choice taster given when requested to enable correct choice to be made. Food presentation and content not compromised even although fully booked. Our food not delayed but heard apologies made to another table which was good to keep the customer informed due to busy kitchen. Went back to bar for a post show drink and queuing system in operation which worked well and moved quickly. Only point is that more seating /bar stools would be good around the bar bench area when very busy.

Have booked Clydebuilt every time I am at concerts (at least once a month) and the last time we were there the service was slow but just put it down to a bad day however this time service was shocking, 45 minutes and we hadn't had so much as a drinks order taken, despite asking twice for service to the manager. Other tables were coming in and having their starters before we even ordered!!! When we eventually got food it was average and the prawn linguine sauce tasted like Heinz spaghetti and there was 4 prawns in the whole dish, very poor and disappointing. Won't be returning

Been a wee while since ate at the venue but wasn't disappointed. The menu differed slightly from last visit which isn't such a bad thing. The service was second to none with the servers introducing themselves on arrival and there was no time at all in between courses, in fact we were asked if we were ready for our next course on each occasion. When the food arrived it was as described on the menu and very tasty. All in all a very pleasant dining experience

Every thing was OK apart from one dish that was cold despite being served in a hot plate. Won't be rushing bark, Crowne Plaza nearby much better with the added bonus of getting your parking paid which compensates for the extra expenditure

Menu available was different from advertised. Food was good but slightly overpriced. Service was okay but was difficult to get attention of the serving staff. Wine was really nice.

I was looking forward to my meal in the restaurant but when we arrived it was a pretty dull experience. The staff were very bored looking, on autopiliot, took the order and there was no issue with timings but no engagement. The food wasn't that great. Really expected a fresh tasty set of dishes as the PR and advertising for the restaurant makes it sound so. When you get there is is basically a fast food joint in an exhibition centre corridor. nothing wrong with it if that's what you're expecting.

We had a delicious meal at the Clydebuilt Bar and Kitchen prior to going to the Andre Rieu Concert. We booked well in advance because we had a good meal there last year and it is extremely close to the Hydro. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed the Strathdon Blue, pear, walnuts and rocket with arran mustard and honey dressing. My husband enjoyed the Atlantic Code with beer bater, thick cut chips and buttered peas. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I thoroughly recommend the restaurant.

First visit to clydebuilt kitchen. Split into two areas, one predominately a bar area and a dining area. Service was reasonable. Staff seemed friendly. Food was of good quality and reasonably priced. My only disappointment was that the only two desserts that appealed to me were not available...and this was not pointed out until time of order. Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely go again.

I was passing so decided to pop in after seeing the cakes in the window. Very cramped inside and it was very busy. Service was good and packed up in a box for me to takeaway. Cakes were great and I would visit again when back in the area.

Great pub, Great drink selection, Great crowd and Great Atmosphere… the only downside was the barman… Big guy, dark skin, I believe his name was Paul… made weird comments towards us and constantly looked at us with strange eye contact throughout the evening… I don’t know if he was drunk or what but he wouldn’t leave us alone and made our experience so uncomfortable we had to leave just to get away from him and even as we tried to exit he then tried to get our personal contact information… such a weird strange man… I wouldn’t come back here if I see him working… otherwise it’s great place to be

Didnt pop up in search but so glad I stopped. Lovely welcome and good choice of sandwiches, jacket potatoes or sweet treats. I enjoyed a good cappuccino and panini. The address on TripAdvisor needs updating as not London but nearest city is High Wycombe!

The worst service I have ever received, I got a terrible coffee from a friend who works alone and is not a barista. I am making this comment in front of the door… Wherever I am in the world, I prefer Costa coffee, but this takes all the pleasure out of me and I become Aticak instead of drinking this coffee.
