Well cooked fish and genuine chunky potatoe chips. Lots of options on offer.

First time visiting- found the fish itself tasty but too greasy. Really nice servers though

unfortunately my fish was undercooked.. slimy skin and soggy undercooked batter..chips and battered sausage undercooked aswell .. just a soggy mess .. unfortunately i had to throw it away .. waisted hard earned money ..not a happy customer!

Fish and chips were really nice, but paying was painful. Only accept cash, which I didn't have. I and another client went to the nearby cash machine, and it was broken, and we couldn't withdraw, so then I had to make a bank transfer. I won't go back until they don't put a card payment option.

The best chicken around, fantastic potatoes and a really nice battered sausage. Exceeded all expectations. Wow.

One of the cheaper takeaways in Cambridge but portion sizes are massive - a half portion of chips is normally enough for two people as a side. Only had the fish, chips and fried chicken from though but always been great.

4* because of pricing. Guys where lovely service was quick food hot

I waited and waited and waited and said hello 3 times.Seems every oe was so busy so i just left..Definitely not good for the business.

I worked in a fish and chip shop for several years and tasted some of the finest fish and chips. This is easily on par. The chips are crisp but velvety on the inside, the cod is crisp and moist. Battered sausages are excellent as are the kebabs and the portion sizes are generous. I've never had to wait too long for my food. Best of all the staff are attentive and friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

We Internet searched a local chippy near the motorway for a halfway stop on our long journey home thinking, why not stop at a small business rather than a services for a change? We found this place - only a 6 min detour. We parked right outside, there were tables to sit in, the staff offered my girls little lollies without any prompts! We explained this was our stop off on a long journey, they were super friendly but not intrusive as we ate our chippy tea. The price was reasonable - cost us less than £20 for 4 of us (2 children though!) with drinks. When we needed vinegar, the guy over the counter heard and passed it immediately (table service in a chippy... whaaaa?!). The fish was delicious. As we left they all waved us off and wished us a safe journey. I mean, what more could you ask for?

Large Haddock & Chips - really nice, great fish & batter, good chips & service was great, nice to be able to sit while fish was cooked, pleased we stopped here.

They serve a very nice fish & chips. Their batter is definitely a highlight- sticks to the fish and breaks beautifully. The fish is nice and fresh too, we tried both the cod and haddock. Well priced, for what you get, which is a lot of food.

Called in before an away football game and what a good find. Got a huge portion of chips and kebab meat with salad and home made chilli sauce which the owner is rightly proud of. They did a large array of food and it all looked good.

Went there for fish and chips. Pleasantly surprised by their friendly customer service. Very delicious doner, spicy potatoes and battered cod fish. The place is also bright and clean. There’s temporary off street parking while you wait for your food order.

We called in as we were passing. We received a warm welcome. We had cod and spicy potatoes. Wasn’t too greasy large portion and delicious especially the potatoes.

The wife and I pass by here every night after work. We decided to stop off on Friday night (27th Oct) for some fish & chips. Our First time here. I placed my order, went to pay... "erm sorry"they said "we don't take card here - cash only" had to get cash from ATM end of the shops... (wish I never went back for my order TBH) Total crap. when we got home, supposed to had large Cod, was tiny size for a small child, this was slimey and undercooked, the chips were something else. I wondered if they see the fryer... they were unchewable, a solid mass. Was totally awful. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. We went to the CodFather week before over the lights, that wasn't much better grease wise. But at least was a good portion and was cooked... cod father 7out of 10, barracuda being generous 3 out of 10.. for trying... This Establishment comes across to me as 'Got All The Gear But Has No Idea?' .... I will drive further afield to Rumbles at Sutton at least they know how to cook and are a proper fisn n chip place and know their stuff, well worth the drive. This was my first time here at Barracuda Fish Bar in Fen Ditton, it will be my last too... !!!!!!!!!!!!

We just fancied some fish and chips as this is our local chippy we ordered Cod and chips twice. Well the size of the fish and the amount of chips was amazing great value.

Very long opening hours makes this takeaway really convenient. Clean compared to many similar places. ThiS time tho my large cod was more like a regular piece of fish tho freshly cooked and tasted fine. The chips were unpalatable - chewy and hard work. Shame as I have visited a fair bit over the years for lunch.

Fish and chips will cost about £10-12 and portions are big. It's a proper chipshop, don't be put off by the counter filled with green stuff, that's to pad out kebabs that they also sell. Fish was decent and chips very well cooked, they also do scraps. Staff were friendly/helpful. Cash only but free cash machine less than 1 minute walk away.

We did use barracuda fish n chip in the past and it was ok. Today we purchased two cods and chips for £18. The taste of the fish was awful. It was not cooked like before. We did not enjoy it. So we will not us this place again.

Been using the Barracuda for my haddock and chips for some time. Fish is always excellent chips are how I like them cooked to perfection. Ordered over the phone and got a bit of a shock when I arrived to pay as their prices have risen. The cost of buying and cooking has has gone up but the quality is the same and will keep buying their produce as there is no where better in Cambridge.

Great fish and chips freshly cooked no soggy chips huge portions, the large fish is a proper large no half measures here .Not based in Cambridge but the trip in is always worthwhile.Served by friendly happy people would recommend to anyone

Good meat quality, quick service and low prices for massive portions- barely for finished cheeseburger. Cash payments only, ATM is only 10 meters away from the shop tho.

Well priced and decent sized portions. The special potatoes are fit (not on the menu randomly but you can see them inside) The kebabs tasted clean and tasty. Decent selection of salad and sauces the bab.

Chips were nice but the cod was disgusting, obviously old as it stank and was dry and hard so had obviously been sitting around for a while after been cooked, really bad after spending £24 on 3 portions. Would have taken it all back to them If I didn’t need to go back off to work. Staff were friendly though just a big shame about the cod.

Stopped in to grab a bag of chips for me and grandad on the way home from marshalls and the portion sizes were humongous chips were lovely and great service.

Tasty takeaway. Kababs, burgers, fried chicken, fish and chippe... name it, all top quality. Reasonable prices. Decent portions. Very kind and approachable staff. Highly recommended.

Genuinely the best fish and chips in Cambridge. The chips really are fantastic: real chunky potatoes freshly deep fried. I'm not someone who particularly like chips, but these are good. The only problem (not even really a problem) is the portion sizes are so big two people can legitimatly share a meal with no one going hungry.

Used to be a fantastic chip shop. But last 4 times have been a proper disappointment. Fish been over cooked chips too old. Tried tonight to cold old chips and no selction and what I did choose was cold. Thought would try you again but now that's the last time I won't be using you which is a shame. You were the best by far but have proper gone downhill...

Order haddock & 1/2 chips and cod and 1/2 chips . All freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Portion sizes are very generous , Very good prices . Would certainly recommend . Staff very friendly

Great experience - the spicy potatoes are incredible! The donner is also excellent and the chilli sauce is great too, all round a great chip shop, up there with the best I’ve been too!

Only had the Chicken Kebab here but its excellent! Freshly grilled with fresh salad and absolutely tons of chicken! Love it!

This establishment is clean, and well presented, and all looks good until you taste the fish, which was dry, either over cooked, or had been cooked and kept hot for too long. The edge of the fish was as crisp as the batter, and the thicker part tough and dry, almost unedible.

Want to say a big thank to the team, they are so nice and good at what they do. Had an experience this evening, I placed my order, when i went home and looked at it, it looked small, called and made a complaint, the one that attended to me was sure he didnt make a mistake but he still apologized and offered to give me another large kebab when next I come😇. Will recommend this place anytime. I truly enjoyed order sooo fresh

Late home so had to stop off at Barracuda. No card facilities and as I only had a tenner on me I was limited to Pie&Chips x2. Neither pie nor chips were any good.

I'd heard great things and wanted to try a portion of chips, but sadly they are NOT vegetarian friendly. The chips are fried in the same oil as the fish and as such are not suitable. I asked the employee at the time and he confirmed this. Such a shame! This is not mentioned anywhere so I'd hate for anyone not to be aware.

Used 2 b good but 2 b honest it's gone down hill the food was that bad it went in bin had bowl of cereal instead

Doesn't take credit cards. Also has sign on door saying one in shop at a time but they ignore that completely. Also food hygiene not as good as it could be-raw chicken juice was leaking into cabinet containing salad etc. Fish and chips were nice though l!

Visited the fish bar yesterday- chips were good but the fish was dreadful- batter was soggy and the fish was so dry it had obviously been in the display cabinet for far too long- no wonder they gave me 2 pieces- won’t be going back

A brilliant chip shop. Great chips, fish always cooked to perfection - moist with golden crispy batter. Excellent fried chicken. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The portions are massive, you won't go hungry!
