Hands down the best fish and chips I ever tried. The most special thing about this place is how friendly the owners are. Highly recommend it.

I popped in here on the off chance. I was pleasantly surprised the two lads working there were very friendly. The food was awesome and service was excellent. I got the feeling that these really care about their customers and that’s something I love to see.

Ordered fish and chips for delivery on a Thursday evening. Fish was thin, dry and tasteless. Not sure how they managed to do fish so bady, surely it's what they do best.

I have been here twice once in summer and in November. Came from Fleetwood just to try them again as they were some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. The staff are really nice, think it's family run? I will be back! The next time I am in Morecambe. Keep up the good work guys and next time I will make sure the wife gets her own chips! 🤣😂

Mega long wait, got the order wrong and portion sizes were tiny. Wouldn’t recommend.

No matter what the weather, sun or rain, a good quality fish n chips always invigorates and puts a smile on the face ! The fish and chips here are excellent, nice portion size, well cooked and decent succulent fish. Can only recommend , plus really friendly staff and a nice place to sit and eat outside if the weather allows. Thanks for helping make my visit to Morecambe even better ! Really enjoyed these 😀

First time at this chippy, and the food was excellent! I was especially impressed by the young man serving, a Fri evening two weeks ago, the sun was shining the place was really busy. He wasn't fazed, got every order right, was polite and friendly, an absolute star. The only downside was the 30 minute wait, probably needed two serving. ...I will try again, it was probably particularly busy because of the weather.😊

Microwave pies makes them soggy.

Visited Bare Village Chippy this evening. The food we had was beautiful. My wife had fish, chips and peas and I had steak pudding, chips and curry (I know, a strange combination). Anyway, we couldn’t fault anything. And to top it all, we sat and ate our tea looking across the estuary to The Lakes on one side and a wonderful sun set on the other. It doesn’t get better than that. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Our favourite chippy. Even our Jack Russell has to have a fish otherwise she sulks! Friendly and efficient staff who always show an interest in their customers. Would highly recommend.

Quite a few chips with black bits, undercooked, and very greasy. Not cheap either.

Best fish and chips we've had.last week when ordered via L/M eats.was very disappointed this week.went to collect.got them home both fish and chips over cooked.chips very hard.so has put me off future purchases!! Sorry to say. Felt like chips were cooked in the afternoon.and warmed up

What can I say the food is fantastic I'm always going to come back, the fish was out of this world. The staff are very friendly.

The chips, after a very long wait (it wasn't even that busy), were undercooked, soggy and greasy. Probably the worst chippy experience I have ever had. The service was slow, but friendly. I'd spotted a Macdonalds on my way in. Wish I'd gone there now. Thats how bad it was.

Stopped in Bare for the long weekend, so to save cooking on the first night decided to have Fish and chips to save on shopping and washing up 😁. What can I say excellent food, amazing prices and the staff were exactly what the description of efficient and friendly should be 👍 definitely not to be missed if you are in the area

Superb chippy. So friendly. Right next to prom so you can get your chips and eat them in the car watching the sea and amazing view. Seating outside. Have a fresh coffee machine too which I particularly like as I love a nice coffee to take out. I highly recommend it. 5 ⭐

Having been to a chippy that was closed, and one that only took cash who gave directions to the cashpoint that was out of order; I thought it wasn't my night. Quite the contrary, we struck gold, we found Bare Village Fish & Chip Shop; Fish cooked to order, nothing standing around going soggy waiting to be bought. Fish supper shared between two was ample, crispy and delicious; great service and even better value for such quality.

Fantastic ....only criticism would be the chips not cooked enough bit anaemic compared with before

Sorry to say , disappointed again. Always seems to be on a Sunday that the food is awful. We came Sunday tea time and the chips tasted like warm ups, hard and no taste husbands fish was over cooked , sons was OK he had cheesy chip bun. Lovely and friendly staff though. Will not go on a Sunday again.....

the food was well priced but not great. chips were particularly poor- having been partly cooked first and then finished off when ordered. not a method i favour and when asked for chips to just be cooked as they should, fryer was unable to do this which i found really bizzare. the end result was not very nice chips at all. we certainly wont be back.

If this is an example, go to the east coast for fish and chips

Popped in for a little treat whilst on our detour with the dog and wow that's got to the freshest food from a chippy in a very long time. And the service was quick and the boys were very polite and the dog thought it was great too, if ever back in Morecambe will definitely call in again

Sorry lads but that was a real disappointment ,don't know if it's your oil that's due.a change both fish and chips tasted exactly the same heavy. With a heavy oily taste ,pickled onion was sharp loved it ,

Very disappointed with the size of portions Tried this chippy as opposed to my regular one, the portions are literally tiny If you’re really hungry after a 5 mile walk like I was I’d advise you do not go here prices are not fair for the portions which are received Atmosphere - not much craic either Don’t normally write reviews at all but this one really did touch a nerve with me!!!!!

Very good chip boil.Batter nice n crisp, you can tell when it's fresh fish. Curry sauce fruity and not too hot. Chips not too soggy and not aneamic

We always love to pop down to Morecambe now when visiting family now that we don't live in the area its good to get out on the sea front and then Fish and Chips before we drive back home. Been stopping off here a few times now and always been great. Good size portions, straight out of the frier easily go to again. Lots of scraps, mushy peas and gravy, can't go wrong. Friendly staff and easy to park up around it. Picture probably doesn't do it full justice I had Already tucked into it before I took a photo!... I couldn't wait!

Delicious! All piping hot, the best piece of fish we've had in a while and the local butcher's Cumberland sausage was really nice. Friendly and quick service too.

Went on two different days while on a little break in the area and the haddock and chips were fantastic both times! Different staff both times, but both equally as pleasant and polite as each other! We will definitely go back when we revisit the area!!

I have gone in and ordered food and the fish and chips were a delight. I did have a home delivery a few weeks ago and I was disappointed with the chips, I think they were from the bottom of the pan. The home delivery is a shocking £3, so I will not be ordering from home again. Thank you.

Had 3 fish with small chips this afternoon, the fish was very meaty, flakey and tasty with a delicious crisp batter. The chips were also very good and tasty. Went for a walk and we’re not local so googled best in Morecambe and this place came up. Just wish we had something as good where we live

Ordered two fish, a large chips, two sausages and a curry sauce. Fish was decent, crispy batter and nice flaky fish. Sausages were a good size for the price. However the whole meal was let down by the chips, very anaemic looking, hard/undercooked and a bit greasy.

Service was nice and food came out decently quickly. But the chips were not cooked and still clearly hard. Some were better than others but the sausage was full of flavour and the fish was alright. The curry sauce was very nice but could of been a little warmer. Would maybe come again.

Food was amazing. Great value for money. The curry sauce and gravy were really nice. I had the lite bite fish and chips, there was just enough, there was none wasted. Would recommend to anybody.

Used bare village chip shop for 1st time last night,take away spending over £25 of our hard earned money..won't be getting again!!! Received food,the chips were tiny portion which seemed good in the end as they were terrible,chewy,over done..chicken and mushroom pie turned up flat in the box like a pancake and been in warmer or microwave too long as couldn't even cut through pastry lid or crust..should of rang them last nite but was fuming.. ohh well expensive lesson learnt 😒😒😒😒 Cumberland sausage was nice

Perfectly cooked, flaky, boneless fish with incredibly thin but very tasty batter. Excellent chips, generous portions and well seasoned (how we like them). Friendly, efficient service. Highly recommend a visit!

We went away for a weekend to Morecambe, not knowing the area I went off Google reviews, this chip shop had really good reviews, the service was really friendly, The batter was to thick, dark brown and full of grease, was the oil too hot or did it need fresh oil, cod itself was really white and soft, chips where re-cooked hard and chewy,

Stopped off in Morecambe after a long drive and needed something quick and tasty. Figured with it being a seaside town the fish and chips would be a safe bet. This place did not disappoint. We ordered 2 portions of fish and chips & the curry sauce to share. The fish was thick, full of flavour and had not a single bone. Batter was perfectly crispy & the chips were exactly what we were hoping for. Staff were very friendly. We just sat outside on their bench and enjoyed the summer breeze & seaside air. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered fish & chips tonight about 5.30pm, disappointed. Chips cold and tasteless, fish warm but also lacking in taste. Three staff working, only one pleasant the other two didn't say a word, not even a hello.

Superb quality chip shop. It's so nice to see some older traditions being maintained. Great staff, excellent food too. Scraps available and pickled eggs. I had fish, it was huge, and that was just the regular size. We will definitely be back here.

Great little fish and chip shop minutes from the Prom. Excellent menu with plenty of choice. Our fish and chips were piping hot, generous and tasty. We had the Light Bites at £6 and can recommend it for the smaller appetite. Seating outside for 8.

As a Volvo car enthusiast club in the NW (Volvo Veterans) we often 'go for a drive' and usually a chip shop is the best call to feed us all... After heading for Morecambe, I planned in stopping at the bare village chippy as it was just along the road from the car park we were meeting... We arrived and took over the back lane and it was a busy affair! Orders were taken and after a reasonable wait in line with how busy it was ... Food was served with a smile! Thanks for feeding us, food was great with no complaints! Hope to see you again 😁👍

GREASY FISH TASTED FINE ONCE IT WAS DROWNED IN VINEGAR. CANT BELIEVE THEY USED FROZEN CHIPS.!!! C” MON GUYS ALWAYS FRESH POTATOES… SEAGULLS HAD A FIGHT FOR EM!!!! GREAT ENTERTAINMENT! FOR A DISAPPOINTMENT FOR LUNCH.

The fish was super greasy batter over cooked and dark brown in colour the chips seemed to be frozen chips not at all nice very hard which is never a good thing but the seagulls didn’t mind was really disappointed after reading the reviews as they were very promising unfortunately we must have caught them On a bad day hence 1star

The batter on the fish was extremely dark in colour, which suggested the fat needed changing. It wasn't allowed to drain before being boxed up on top of chips, so the meal we were presented with was very disappointing.

Unfortunately we asked for curry sauce and didn't realise it was put all over the food until we had got down the road, (i blame my OH for not watching lol) he just assumed it would be in a pot, asked for haddock but they were were extremely busy and we ended up with a cod lol, assume it was just by accident. Thick crispy batter, glad to see everything was in paper /cardboard and no plastic used 😊

THE nicest chips I have had from a chippy in a long time. Wish I had been hungry enough to order fish and chips. I will be dreaming of these chips until we get chance to visit again. 😋

10/10 from us, was looking for pub lunch but unsure where to eat, luckily for us the pub round the corner was busy so plan B was the chippy we just passed. Very clean, very friendly and fab chips & gravy chips & curry sat with our wooden forks ! Couldn't of been happier great find very reasonably priced as well

I ordered a battered sausage and fish and chips. The fish and sausage were fine but the chips were terrible. Hard and shrivelled up like they had been reheated. Won't be ordering from here again I'm afraid. Chips are supposed to be soft and fluffy.

Chips had definitely been around for a bit as not overly hot and on the dry side. Fish had been in the warmer rather than freshly cooked but otherwise was OK. Recommended but not the best in the district.

Stopped by today to grab a quick lunch, after a flying visit to Morecambe. After doing some ‘Googling’ we headed for Bare Village. We weren’t disappointed. 4 portions of the small fish & chips, duly devoured by 4 very satisfied Mancunians. I can only reiterate what previous reviews have highlighted. Stunning food, served by 2 lovely owners, giving decent value for money. Many reasons to return when next venture to the village.

Just popped in for chips and peas but ended up with delicious chips, mushy peas, vinegar and salted perfectly and a nice chat with the two people serving. If we lived locally we'd definitely be back!
