While in Barnard Castle, we decided to order haddock and chips x2. Big mistake!! The chips were inedible, burnt and hard. The fish, well batter was overdone and hard and the so called haddock was disgusting, I've caught and eaten many haddock but never tasted anything like this. All ended up in the bin and had to find an alternative for tea. Avoid at all cost!!

This shop always delivers. From portion size, to value for money and friendly staff. However last night they excelled themselves. Our takeaway was first class. Well done everyone, thank you so much 🙏 I'll be back 😊

Traditional Fish & Chips at their best. We called in to get fish & chips, and sausage & chips for a family meal. The service was very friendly, the food freshly cooked, golden crispy batter, perfectly cooked chips and very generous portions. We all thoroughly enjoyed them, thank you and keep up the good work and high standards. Well done to Tom and his team.

We have had food from here a few times and unfortunately lately the chips have been inedible, so much so that the last couple of times they have ended up in the bin. We tried them again as briefly a couple of months ago the chips were much better, browner. Maybe it is down to the potatoes they are using but something needs to be done about them or they will lose more customers than us

We got fish and chips and they looked very good, sadly they tasted burnt. I would suspect someone had had the temperature far too high and burned the oil. If not it’s well overdue to be changed.

Excellent service! I popped in for Fish & Chips and was greeted by friendly staff. The fish and chips were cooked to perfection, the batter was very crispy and added scraps was a bonus! The curry sauce was also a great addition and I would definitely recommend 👍 I will definitely be back next time I’m passing through *****

Called here for a takeaway fish and chips lunch whilst on our journey home from Scotland and so glad we did. We chose haddock which was firm, white and so, so tasty with a delicious crisp batter. The chips were excellent. The young lady (Mum of a soon to be 14 year old) who served us was extremely helpful in advising us where would be a good place to sit and enjoy them - on the green overlooking the castle. All in all a first class visit and a fish and chip shop we would highly recommend.

This is a fish and chip, take away right in the Main Street of Barnard Castle. I ordered for two and was served quickly. They offer all the popular items and hot and cold drinks, Decent sized portions at a reasonable price. Fish and chips were beautiful. Lilly white fish and crispy batter

Popped in for a bite to eat and a drink. Both dog and baby friendly. Nice and quick for food to come out. Ordered some cheese on toast which wasn’t on the menu for our little one and they very happily sorted this out and provided childrens cutlery and plates.
