My mom and I recently visited the Hyde Cafe for a festive afternoon tea, and as a first-timer, I was absolutely delighted by the experience! From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, charming decor that set the perfect tone for a relaxing afternoon treat during Christmas time. The staff, especially our server Hafize, were incredibly welcoming and attentive, taking the time to explain the menu and guide us through the tea selection process. I opted for the cherry blossom tea, and it was brewed to perfection—aromatic, flavorful, and soothing. The food was equally impressive. The tiered tray presentation was a feast for the eyes, with an array of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and an assortment of desserts that were almost too pretty to eat. The scones, served with clotted cream and jam, were the highlight for me—fluffy, warm, and utterly delicious. As someone new to afternoon tea, I appreciated how everything felt thoughtful and unhurried, allowing me to truly savor the experience. Hyde Cafe has set a high standard, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking to indulge in a delightful afternoon tea! This place deserves more 5 star reviews!!

The luxury of the Royal Lancaster hotel was quietly reassuring after a very long trek to central London. The welcoming smile of the doorman upon arriving and the pleasant demeanor of the concierge enforced my first impression that the choice of the afternoon tea was the right one. We were served gracefully and elegantly by Daniela and her service was faultless and friendly. The afternoon tea was A Blooming British Afternoon Tea in collaboration with the Natural History Museum; therefore we had a Pollinator special blend tea, which was absolutely divine! The tea menu provides a little map to show you how to walk from the hotel through the park to the Natural History Museum, which only takes half an hour. Special mention must be made about the scones, which were so rich and buttery, they could be considered a meal in itself! If you are searching for a quiet, beautifully exquisite experience, please do visit the Royal Lancaster for a highly recommended afternoon tea - it is delightful!

I visited the Royal Lancaster for my birthday tea and it was absolutely amazing. The service, atmosphere, and food were everything I expected it to be. The staff answered all my questions and were able to make the needed adjustments for dietary restrictions. I had a lovely afternoon and can't wait to visit again.

I came to the Royal Lancaster for the afternoon tea with a friend, and unfortunately we were rather disappointed with the experience. The room it is served in, right behind the hotel's reception desk, is not very charming, but the tiered cake stands definitely are. As for the food, the sandwiches were fine, the scones were warm and very good, and the cakes were overall underwhelming. I suppose our main issue was that when we ordered I asked if I could get vegetarian sandwiches only (since there is a completely vegan afternoon tea option, I did not think this would be much of a problem), and when we were served we got no salmon sandwiches, and no chicken sandwiches, but we did get a roastbeef sandwich ... And this for the both of us, when I was the only one who asked for a substitution. There are better afternoon teas to be had in London.
