IF you ever stay at this hotel AVOID the pool/spa area at all costs. Not worthy of 4 star hotel at all! We got there Monday morning and all the lights/electrics were down in the hotel for maintenance due to construction, so we had to walk through the hotel up and down stairs to the spa in the dark using our phones for flash, and as you can see from the images the experience just got worse from there. Old chewing gum, false nails, hair balls and grotty old tiles in and around the pool like they’ve never had a clean, not to mention the dust and dirt on the salon reception floor. The manager, Marina, tried her best to appease us saying the nails could have been from the ‘one lady’ that was by the pool (we saw her and she wasn’t having false nails). All these issues first thing on a Monday without any of the staff checking is shocking. We felt disgusted and left immediately - thankfully they refunded us £30 for the day access for my wife which is the least they could do but we Won’t ever be coming back ever you shouldn’t come either.

We love our overnight stay at Barton Manor. We stayed in an executive suite which came with a very large bed which was 2 beds attached together as we could feel the separation but it didn't affect us the bed was lovely and comfortable, the pillows very luxurious. One of the lights didn't work at the bedside but it didn't make a difference to us. The tv was very good quality, internet was fast. The room came with a hairdryer, a coffee machine with a coffee pod each and a regular kettle with all necessary equipment- if you wanted fresh milk you had to go to the milk cupboard in the corridor which had a mini fridge full of small semi skimmed milk bottles. There was also an ice machine there too, you can get a ice bucket from downstairs. Rooms don't come with a mini fridge. They have a safe. The room comes with a chair and dressing table area. The bathroom was very well equipped, 2 toilet rolls, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body milk and a bar of soap (all spa themed scents Thalgo) The shower worked very well, we had a towel style bath matt. The toilet is very low down (almost a squat to get down haha) the sink had a demister in it so it didn't steam up very much. The fan kept the bathroom feeling fresh. The radiator wasn't on so our towels didn't dry..we weren't sure how to turn it on but it didn't matter. We had instructions given for the heating system in the room, it was very good can have it on hot, fan, dehumidifier or auto. It was abit noisy but worked well. The bed spread looked lovely as we walked in and they followed extra instructions I gave as it was my partners birthday so they put rose petals (not real was a little disappointed) and truffle style chocolates on there at an extra charge of 20pounds. We really enjoyed the spa, we had treatments and would go again. The pool was slightly heated and the pool area smelt lovely. The sauna and steam room were good, the steam room was a little too strong smelling for me to stay a while (eucalyptus oil) We visted the gym which was well equipped and clean. Everywhere we went in the spa we had access to free ice cold water and there were plenty of paper cups with bins supplied. We tried the restaurant 'The Walled Garden' the food was delicious and we also ate in there for breakfast which was great. We had drinks at night time which were reasonably priced and we played pool, billiards and darts which you had to put a 10 pound deposit down for the equipment (balls and darts) We would definitely come back here and have already recommended to our friends.

We had a Christmas meal for 24 booked and the room was changed at the last minute, the new room had no Christmas decorations at all. The meal was good but there was no festive atmosphere. No one came to ask if everything was ok and we felt like we were treated as an afterthought. The meal and room were booked months ago. The doors were left open and it became draughty and cold and I had to ask for the heating to be switched on. Very disappointing as last year was great. . Probably not go again.

Appalling customer service. Mediocre food. Overpriced. Incorrect drinks order. Would not recommend at all, turned up to a building site. The barrier being so close to a busy road made it dangerous turning into the carpark.

The worse experience ever. I went with my hubby for spa day and from start everything was downhill. Electricity was out so we had to walk in the dark to the spa from the reception. The lady who was guiding us instead of keeping the door open for me literally she slammed back on my face. Floor was dirty needed to be hoovered. Then we headed to the pool area that was absolutely disgusting. Chewing-gum, fake nail, hairball, dirty tiles and chipped tiles in the water ???? For a pregnant woman like me that wasn’t the right place honestly if I get any infection soon I’ll sue this place Our day was ruined and we left so upset Never again to this place

Great value. Lovely room (I stayed in the lodge building). Nice facilities. Breakfast standard hotel choice. They were building the south block. But that didn’t affect my stay. Two suggestions: the ice making machine noise must annoy some guests, it sounds like it needs to be fixed. Also, it’s strange to have disabled parking spaces further away from ramps and the entrance. See photo.

Stayed here for 5 nights earlier this month. From the moment I arrived until I left I was very well looked after. As a disabled guest I do need a little help at times and this was always available. I was in room 10 which is ideal for someone with a disability. The food in the Walled Garden was excellent as was the service, I invited several friends for dinner one evening and other friends for afternoon tea, and everyone thourghly enjoyed everything, a special mention goes to Alan and staff for making both occasions special. The only slight criticism I have is that the access to the lift and the toilets is rather tight and I found the door handles were quite high as I use a mobility scooter, but please be assured I will be returning, once again thank you for a great stay.

Hotel listing claims a 24hr front desk and yet upon arrival 30mins after midnight following a long drive from Scotland, the hotel did not respond to the buzzer at the gate or phone calls and I then had to find another hotel in the early hours and drive another 45min

Caffe Nero does the best coffee amongst the chains, the places themselves are often a little scruffy
