We ordered a takeaway at 6pm which was due to be collected at 6:30pm. That didn’t happen… We arrived at 6:30pm and they were quick to take our money. No rough estimate of time but we sat down and waited and waited we did. After 45 minutes we found out that someone else had been waiting for an hour already. After an hour we asked if they had a rough time estimate. He replied that it’ll be 5/6 minutes. We carried on waiting with everyone else who had been waiting for 45 minutes also. We then got to an hour and 20 minutes, we requested our money back and said we don’t want food anymore. The main man was reluctant to give us our money and told us it’s coming. The food then arrived and we asked what we are getting in return for waiting an hour and a half, his response…. A bottle of Coke. The food was delicious but waiting an hour and a half for it and getting laughed at and getting told you’re moody from a worker when you’re asking how long it’s going to be isn’t great.

If you’re looking for a local gem that combines fantastic food, great value, and a side of laughs, Bayleaf in Brundall is the place to be. We decided to try their Wednesday evening banquet offer, and let’s just say, we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious packed with flavour and plenty of variety to keep us all happy. But what really set the night apart was the service. The waiters went above and beyond, even snapping photos for us to remember our fun ladies’ night out! Laughter was flowing as freely as the coconut rice and the whole evening was a total hit. Highly recommend Bayleaf for a night that’s as tasty as it is unforgettable.

Standard on flavour and quality of food have dramatically decreased . Ordering food, you’re given a pick up time which you can add another hour onto as food is never ready . Eating in, tables very close to take away area where you get a backlog if people because food is never ready on time so you will be eating right next to people sitting standing over you. One of the waiters is constantly wiping his nose with his hand and messing with his hair not good to see when he’s serving you food .

We decided to pre-order an Indian meal for New Year’s Eve—planning ahead to reduce stress and enjoy more family time. Clearly, our 26 hours’ notice wasn’t enough. Arriving at the agreed time of 8:30, the place was pure chaos. No tables had food, the takeaway queue looked like a scene from a zombie apocalypse, and people were swapping stories of their hour-long waits like war veterans. As the night wore on, table guests started leaving in frustration, some without even tasting a poppadom. Our food finally arrived after 1 hour and 20 minutes, by which point the atmosphere had turned into a full-blown mutiny. Angry customers were storming out, pints were being knocked over in protest, and the head honcho? He was calmly answering phone calls and taking more bookings. Bold strategy, sir. We got our food eventually, only to discover it wasn’t even correct. Chips with an Indian meal? Not exactly what we had in mind. Rumor had it they ran out of rice at one point, which says everything about the night. And the toilet... well, let’s just say it wasn’t winning any cleanliness awards. Overall, the whole experience was a shambles. The food we did get was passable, but the stress of the evening? Unforgivable. Safe to say, we’ll be spending New Year’s differently next time. 🍛🙃

I went to the Bay Leaf with a large group of friends, 12 if us in total. The company was wonderful. However, the food was less desirable. I ordered a chicken Jalfezi, unfortunately, what I received was more of an onion Jalfezi, as there was only about 4 cubes of protein evident. The daal was nice though. The Chapatti appeared to have been microwaved as it was crisp. My friends ordered dessert, when the desserts arrived, they had not been defrosted and were hard as rock. Staff were nice, but couldn't get us out of the door quick enough. Will I be returning,? No thank you

Took my grandson and girlfriend to bay leaf for his birthday. I asked difference on two prawn dishes. One had prawns in shells and one did not. I ordered the one without shells. When my dish arrived it was the one in the shells. They did offer to change it but as the other three guests had got theirs it would not be appropriate. The waiter admitted he got the two dishes mixed up and he works there. The dish itself was full of onions and not much else. I would have enjoyed the correct dish more (maybe ). The waiters kept hovering around our table and taking empty plates away hardly before we had swallowed last mouthful. We have been to Tamarind before in blofield and it is much nicer in every way. Better food, bigger portion, better service, better ambience and cheaper. Would not go here again but go to The Tamarind instead.

Booked a takeaway and we received an email advising an estimated delivery time. After waiting 20 minutes over the allotted time I phoned them and were told it was on the way. 15 minutes later it arrived so they were either making other deliveries first or they hadn't actually left when I phoned. All the food was lukewarm so I immediately phoned them to complain and their excuse was that it had been a busy night! They suggested that the next time they would make sure we were given a better service but I won't be taking them up on their offer as I will never be using them again.

BayLeaf is a delicious curry house. All staff are very friendly and polite. Food was excellent I have tried. This visit really worth. Thanks

Went with my parents to eat to celebrate their wedding anniversary. 25 min wait for a table although we booked - but accept they can’t be helped if people linger over their meal however I certainly don’t think that’s why in this instance. Drinks arrived swiftly after being seated however what followed was awful service, and absolute rudeness from the staff. After ordering our meals and 1 1/2 hours later not receiving it I started to feel unwell with what I knew was a blood glucose dip, my husband went to ask how long food would be and was told 5 mins. 10 mins later nothing and do husband advised if not here soon we would be leaving. This resulted in 3 staff members then proceeding to mimic him taking the Mickey. The food when it arrived was tasty, but Luke warm, I couldn’t enjoy my meal as by this point I felt sick and really non of us enjoyed it. We had all gone past the point of wanting the food after just over a 2 hour wait. I asked to speak to the manager, and was met with “ it happens” I pointed out when I order food to take away it’s ready in 30 mins and they clearly prioritise that service. Prior to our meal arriving nothing had come out of the kitchen for a good 45 mins. All tables were complaining how long the wait was, 2 hours to wait for a meal after ordering is ridiculous. Absolutely ruined a rare family evening out, we won’t be returning.

Food nice, but service absolutely awful. Arrived at 6:30 and got our starter at 8:00. We were then told the reason our food was late was because we ordered a starter. Honestly won't be eating here again

Couldn't find what I wanted on the online menu so phoned to check and ordered directly with the staff, 2 Butter Chickens, 2 Garlic Naan Breads, 1 with cheese and 4 Poppadums. For a start this came to £32.60 which I though was very expensive considering we didn't have any rice but anyway... Service was good, food was prepared quickly however, when we got home we had what tasted like 2 Chicken Korma's and no cheese on one of the naan breads. My go to curry is Butter Chicken and never before have I had one that tasted like this. When I phoned to tell them the mix up they told me to bring the order back and they would sort it out but at 7.15pm and a 20 minute drive there and back I was not doing that! Very disappointed.

Called in to order a takeaway meal. Was presented a bill that included a service charge of £1.20p not mentioned on the menu. I asked what service I'd be receiving as I was taking the food away, and was told that it's to cover the cost of takeaway containers and a bag, and was told that nobody has ever complained before. I left without the meal and will not return.

I ordered a home delivery & was told in the email that if there was likely to be any difference in the estimated delivery time I’d be informed. I don’t expect delivery exactly on time due to traffic & weather conditions & am happy if it’s 5-10 mins late (early would be nice). However no communication & the delivery arriving half an hour late is unacceptable. I called & explained my disappointment but the gentleman I spoke to was having another conversation at the same time with a member of staff. This made a bad situation much worse, it was very rude. I’ve eaten at the restaurant several times & always enjoyed the food & service & thought I’d try the delivery service. Unfortunately this has put me off using them in the future for sit down & certainly delivery. The delivered food wasn’t particularly warm as the driver explained to me when I mentioned that it was half an hour late that he’d had two other deliveries before mine.

We booked a table for a pre Christmas family meal and as always the food was excellent. The staff are friendly, service is great. Highly recommend.

Had a takeaway.. It was burnt. Sent pictures to the owner.. He said he would refund us, and never did..

Have tried this place for eating in and takeaway. Both times, the food is bland, over cooked so it's dry and inedible. We tried twice to make sure the first time wasn't a one-off. I'd recommend Tamarind in Blofield over this place. Don't claim to be fine dining when the ingredients is poor and the food is so bad.

Great place for Indian fine dining. As a group we ordered chicken tikka masala, rogan josh, madras, vindaloo with sides of rice, nann and aloo. Was all amazing, everyone was happy with their food and we all left feeling full and happy. Atmosphere was great, very chilled and comfortable. They have a little waterfall in there and blue downlighting which is a nice little touch. Wait staff were friendly and polite as always and the manager was very attentive and even showed us out and thanked us for dining. We have also had takeaways from here and were all to the same high standard. We will definitely be going back for more! Thank you Bay Leaf - Brundall. We highly recommend 👌

Awesome meal for our wedding anniversary.. staff were nice and friendly food was amazing.. the only thing that let it down for us but we did laugh on the way home was... the table next to us were discussing bow movements and preaching about religion and ever one of there party had leaflets.. lol but we did find it funny.. all in all could not fault it on this visit.. see you soon bay leaf.. Generally poor service. We made one request that we wanted a reasonable gap between courses. We had eaten three courses and had left within an hour. The waiter also showed displeasure when we ordered something which he could not find on the menu, we had to point it out. First time we not left a tip in years. The food was acceptable but only average. We were disappointed as the reviews for the place were positive

Since there fairly recent opening, I have had 9+ takeaways. Staff are friendly and polite. Good discount if collected. Food taste AMAZING. Generous portion size. I truly hope they do not change their recipe / chef.

My favourite curry house by far! Beautiful restaurant, beautiful decor, lovely ambience, attentive and friendly staff with amazing customer service.. nothing is too much trouble and they go above and beyond to ensure you have the best and most enjoyable evening. I am clinically vulnerable and they have always been so accommodating and made me feel safe by putting us in a quiet area and keeping tables free around me. Being a Brummie I absolutely love a curry, I've been to a few Indian restaurants but the food here is authentic, faultless and so full of flavour. Looking forward to returning soon, could not recommend this restaurant enough.

A lovely modern Indian restaurant, very pleasant atmosphere and exceptional staff. Our food was delicious and they went the extra mile with proving a tailormade dish suitable for our toddler.

Went for the first time with my wife on a Sunday evening for our wedding anniversary. We were highly impressed. Very good quality at a reasonable price. Friendly staff. Will be returning!

Lovely food, excellent service, great staff and overall a pleasure. Nice to have a restaurant and takeaway combined.

We booked online at the last minute for tonight. A friendly welcome. Poppadoms were fresh and crispy, delicious pickle tray. Starters and main course were all piping hot with the appropriate level of spice. Side dishes were equally good. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We would say it is the best in the area! This was our first visit and we will definitely be returning.

Had an excellent meal here. We had a few dishes off the menu and each dish was good. Good service and a nice atmosphere. Will be returning soon.

we loved this indian the place was mint the cutlery was mint and the chairs were velvet extremly comfortable and the food was excellent they even cut into 4 our garlic naans no indian has ever done that before and the staff were very polite and curtious cant wait to go again
