Bayleaves in County Durham

Went for the 1st time last night, will not be the last time. Food was bloody lovely, staff were friendly & we had a lovely relaxed time.

Went to dinner on NYE. 1st time as we have just moved here. We couldn't fault the evening. Great food and service and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

This is an appreciation post. I have my own foody place and I usually like a hot curry but tonight I had a chicken korma, some coconut rice and a cheesy naan bread. The food arrived hot, fresh and packed with flavour. The chicken korma was perfectly balanced and sweet. The portioning sizes were generous and the delivery was quick! Overall the experience was fantastico! I’m already looking forward to my next order and will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Keep up the great work! Incredibly tasty food! It's our go to place for takeaway and we always enjoy it. Good service delivered in speedy time frames. The food has excellent taste. I'd highly recommend.

Had takeaway was nice staff very helpful

Use to like it here but never again. Starters was ok but the main curry's was bland and my lamb sag curry was sour like they never cooked the spices enough which made it taste bitter and off. Bland chips undercooked and the rest was bland flavours.

We have ordered takeaway loads from Bayleaf and we have always loved it, unfortunately our latest meal last night 31/03/2024, first of all the wrong order was delivered (no biggy) after a phonecall that was sorted and within minutes our food was delivered, my meal which was a chicken madras with chips was disappointing as the sauce was very bland and the chicken was tough, the chips were just basic frozen chips and not what we are used to, my wife's meal had to be thrown away because her chicken was inedible, very unusual for Bayleaf but we won't be using them again

Been regular customers both eat-in and take-away of this place since it first opened but that stops NOW ! The food has generally been good but the service and reliability has always been inconsistent at best. However in recent times this has become very poor and we have been let down again this evening. Moving forward we have found Namaste of Spennymoor to be an excellent alternative for our future requirements.

Make your own mind up this is supposed to be butter chicken. And lamb in brandy & garlic sauce With chips 2x Coca-Cola £32 thanks very much.

Very neat and tidy, great customer service, love Tadka Dal and rice with some ghee and papad, and should try parata and kheema curry and lamb dishes..

First time I've tried Bayleaves and can honestly say it was 10/10 for me. I had the chicken tikka shashlik masala it was gorgeous. Also when delivered the food was still piping hot. Great service

Food is delicious, no qualms there (other than a Keema naan being filled with paste and not meat) HOWEVR!! Delivery charge and non optional service charge, along with price of meals is questionable. Meals are absolutely amazing and I would always praise the food however the customer service side of things is somewhat in the air! Order from them and enjoy the delicious food but perhaps not if you’re on a budget 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Food was lovely. Delivery charge was extortionate for a very short journey. (Half a mile).

We drive a 32m round trip to collect our order because the food is THAT GOOD. Nothing comes close, order from here & you'll be thrilled. Divine food

Very nice food! Wasn't sure where to order from as I'm not from the area. Starter: mixed kebab. Main: chicken tikka sagwala with pilau rice and Peshawari naan bread.

Well got a delivery spent £38 on two meals freezing cold chucked together never ever order from there again vile chucked 3/4 of each meal in the bin even the naan was discusting really disappointed ☹️

Best Indian takeaway for miles. We travel from the next town over to go here, always spot on food and friendly service Tonight we had a meal in the restaurant for our son's 11th birthday. The staff were attentive, and the food was amazing as always. We will be back!

Don't know if it has changed hands or chef but definately not the same,we have had the madras for a while allways nice and spicy,however last night it was bland,the chicken was pieces of tika red very disappointing.

Very disappointed with the food. Poppadoms were very small and burnt, sent a plain naan bread instead of kema naan. Curry dishes had more veg than meat. Would not recommend, definitely gone down hill.

Our favourite Indian restaurant! Excellent food and great customer service. Always a pleasure. On Valentines night we visited the new location and better service than ever. The new front of house is well designed. As always the food was 5 star.

Just got a takeaway tonight only to find when dishing out mushroom rice missing has happened before other than that food lovely

Delivery a little early which was nice, tandoori shashlik didn't have king prawn as stated, sauce very bland, tandoori chicken leg not very hot and no meat on it, very little onion and couldn't detect any peppers, it was ok but slightly disappointing.

Delicious food, arrived early and piping hot. Will definitely use again.

Really nice food; hot and very tasty! Bit disappointed that free poppadoms weren’t included, especially due to the large order and cost of it.

Unfortunately, whilst most of the order was excellent as usual, the Dhansak was inedible as it was far hotter that it should be. Normally it is a mild curry with a slight kick but this was hotter than a vindaloo so was totally inedible

The food is always amazing and never fails to be an amazing meal, always lots of food and of a high quality. One of our favourite places to get food from service and delivery is always on point.

Food came without Naan bread, called and they sent one out. 30 mins later turned back up with naan which was freezing cold and soggy. Not great service

worst takeaway I have had in 37 year, the mixed balti tasted nothing like a balti and was just mush. The bombay aloo, I dunno what that was supposed to be but was minging. I never post on here but this place is rancid.

Let’s get real. Up there with the best Lamb Tikka Phall (curry super hot) I’ve had. Can’t comment so much on the other food so much. They may have changed the chef, never ordered Onion Bhajis but they used to be really poor and have never ordered since. Mint sauce (nice) expensive for size and in general. To go with popadoms. Bit annoying if you want to reduce your spend. Potential to make more money reducing costs of same and all the condiments in the starters menu. Don’t want to go to much into the psychology of ordering food I’m not getting paid lol. Well done mint curry (Pardon the pun) thanks. Best Tikka Marsala best I’ve had. Maybe not but I’ve had the best. X

The meal arrived on time but was barely warm. We heated our food in the microwave to discover the Phaal wasn’t actually a Phaal. It was little more than medium heat without any of the ‘kick’ a Phaal should have. I phoned to complain and they sent me a replacement but it still wasn’t great tbh…

Food was delicious although the Pesh Wari Naan was burnt in places so only the centre section was eaten. This was unusual as it is normally very good.

Food was amazing! Chicken was very moist and succulent. I’ve gotten from other places and it’s been really dry. But this food was really really nice 🤤 Definitely order from here again and definitely recommend!

Fòod was lovely but was lukewarm when it arrived which was a shame.

Delivery late, food barely warm, can of coke was warm though. Disappointing, first order was lovely, this one wasn't. Mixed starter had clearly sat way too long and had a lot of liquid in the container, made the meat soggy with very little flavour.

Fantastic, keep up the great service, and the food was first class!
