Bella Italia in South Gloucestershire

Terrible - food came out cold - yet overdone - sloppily presented, had to ask for it to be redone - was brought out again clearly just re heated. Chef obviously didn’t care or was not qualified- waitress was good so tipped her but the general management and organisation was bad . Ended up eating out food at separate times due to the timing of them having to be re heated etc . Chaotic atmosphere, lots of unsatisfied customers , food was just poor .

Not really impressed at all by the service we received. Initially we were greeted at the door and shown to a table, drinks were taken and then the food. We received our starters fine. Once we had finished and they were cleared we then had a long wait before we received our mains. There was only two of us. Other customers arrived and ordered and received their food before we had got our mains, which was a table of 4. One of the waiting staff did acknowledge this and told us it wouldn't be long. When we finally got our meals we were told that the chips we had ordered had just gone in the fryer?! I'm sorry but why on earth would the chips have only just gone in the fryer when you are serving the main dish. By the time we had received our chips we had finished our mains. They were not worth the money that was charged and were poorly presented.we shall not be returning there again.

We called in for a meal while travelling home to South Wales. Greeted by staff and shown to our table. Then nothing. We noticed a promotion on the table to save £10 by downloading the App and ordering by that means. App downloaded but couldn’t order food because table hadn’t been opened. Eventually after catching the managers attention, she blamed her staff, no apology for the wait. She took our order. Starter ordered was garlic flatbread with cheese. Mains ordered were risotto with pulled chicken, lasagne, spaghetti bolognaise side of fries. Quite straightforward. Main course arrives, no starter. Agree to take starter with main course. Risotto has no pulled chicken, returned kitchen. Lasagna is extremely watery tomato slop with burnt edges, no flavour and quite disgusting. Garlic bread arrives, no cheese. Tell waitress who says she will inform the kitchen. Spaghetti bolognaise pretty much tasteless and quite watery. Side of fries is tiny and definitely not worth £4.50. Risotto brought back with a load of chicken dumped on top. Garlic bread with cheese never arrived but was taken off the bill. Never again.

My daughter chose this restaurant for her birthday meal. Drinks came quickly and we chose starters and main courses. 25 mins later the waitress bought our main meals, we told her that we hadn’t had our starters and she just walked away. Another 10 mins waiting with no one telling us what was going on. Asked my daughter if she would rather have dominoes pizza and go home by now, she asked to wait 10 more mins. The waitress bought our starters. We are then. Then mains were served, there were 4 of us, 3 of us got our food at the same time and the 4th person was told it would be here in a minute. We had finished our food before his pizza arrived. We decided not to stay for dessert. Paid our £93 bill and left.

Turned up at the restaurant and shown to our table. It was 1pm and only 2 other couples in there on a Thursday. Ordered diet cokes with the waitress who then came back 5 minutes later saying they did not have cold drinks from the fountain machine as it had broken down, but had cold drinks off the menu. We chose bottled diet cokes only to be told they didn't have those either. We started to order our food and my husband chose a burger. Only to be told again that they didn't have any burgers on the menu. At this stage we got up and walked out. The manageress tried to lure us back by explaining the machine had broken down and offered us free drinks. I explained to her that nobody informed us of this when they gave us menus. We left, never to return!

Food was really good, having the set menu, I was thinking the portions would be smaller, I was so wrong, they’re really good size and came out in good time too. Served by Laura who was absolutely fantastic, friendly and attentive, she’s a credit to you all.

Polite but slow service, despite the place being very empty at 5.30pm ish. Noticed our food was left on the servery for a while, others served their food before ours as they were sat nearer the servery. Food was warm to hot. No tip today.

As I write this I know it's a little pointless - restaurants like this survive off the footfall around the cinema and pay little attention to customer feedback. We had booked in advance. We were, of course, going to the cinema and, in our opinion, had left plenty of time. I'll start with the fact that the staff serving and the food were great. We were sat promptly at our table. Our starters arrived in good time. Over an hour after we had placed our order we had to ask where our main courses. We were going to be late for our film; we had to eat what we could of our mains in about 10 minutes and I had to pay the bill while we were eating. As I say, he food was lovely. But eating out should be a treat and not feel stressful. Would I go again. Yes, probably if I had time but I would probably go to one of the other restaurants on the site as they have never let me down.

Food was quite good but service very slow although restaurant was nearly empty. After waiting for about 15 minutes we had to ask if we could place an order. We had 2 children with us (aged 9 and 6) who were quite patient. Their starters arrived promptly but after they had finished we had to ask again what had happened to the main course. My wife's spaghetti bolognaise was good - excellent portion. My salad was also good. The children ate all their meals and particularly liked the ice-cream. One problem on the food was that several items were not available which given we were early in the evening did not bod well for those dining later.

Yesterday was my first experience at the Bella Italia restaurant at Cribs in Bristol with my wife after watching a movie at the cinema. What was supposed to be a pleasant dinner was terrible because of the poor quality service, the waiter unprepared rude with low attitude , the food was ok.

I come here all the time because it's a restaurant for all people. You want a brilliant first date, come here. You want a family dinner, come here. It's too brilliant for words. JUSSST SOOO GOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely terrible!! Waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food and refused to wait any longer as we were missing the start of a film at the cinema next door. Very very slow service and very understaffed!!!!

Would not even rate it a 1 if I'm honest... Tables were empty but had to go away for half an hour and come back. The waitress was rude, infact we overheard the staff slagging us off because we asked if my child could have butter on her pasta as shes autistic and only eats pasta with butter and cheese! They didnt have butter apparently?? Luckily Frankie n Benys nxt door did so to their surprise my daughter got her butter from their neighbours 😁✌️ I as a waitress myself knows about customer service and i would NEVER or acted the way those staff did in there!! They are lucky we even paid!! #RUDE

I ordered this from one of the delivery companies for £16 from bella cribbs in the picture on the menu looked much bigger this is not even enough for a kid not even a garnish

Where to start. Told upon entry that food would take longer as the whole kitchen team was new and was being trained. We sat and orders taken. Vegan meatballs as a starter and another pork meatballs (different diners). Meatballs came in a sizzling dish, frozen inside. Sent back. Meatball mains came. Cold. Sent back. Cane back obviously microwaved to death. Couldn't even cook them. Sent back. Risotto watery, rice undercooked, green water in bottom of dish. Carbonara was surprisingly ok. Manager took off 100% of food order and apologised. Still charged us 13.79 for a round of drinks which i was in shock about. Utter disaster of a family celebration. Left to never return to bella italia.

We wanted to treat our little one with a dinner after a movie. If we would have been warned by the door that there is a 45 minutes waiting time we wouldn't be bothered to go in. But probably this wasn't the reason we waited for our food so long since the restaurant was half empty. We ended up asking our little one's pudding for take away which again took 10 minutes to put some fruits in a bowl. Meanwhile we've been offered some dessers as a form of compensation but those never has arrived. Probably we should wait for them for another 45 minutes? We won't know. Food quality is average, so very unlikely to return...

Service was dreadful. We arrived at 4pm intending to eat before a film at 5:40 - should have been plenty of time but we only just made it and that was by skipping part of the meal. Our main course came well over an hour after we got there and we had to ask three times where our food was. There were only 4 tables occupied when we got there so not sure what the problem was. Food was ok. The only reason this gets 2 instead of 1 star is that I think the waitress was doing her best and she served with a smile. We won't be returning here as there are plenty of other options.

Luckily we had booked - we saw many people turned away without reservations even though the restaurant was only half full - lack of wait staff we were told. We must start by saying that a very enjoyable meal was made special by the delightful waitress, Stephanie, who was friendly, helpful and totally professional. The food - as usual in our experience - was excellent with decent portions. The one disappointment was the Goat Cheese Crostini - an optional addition to my Italian salad. The cost of £2 for a small piece of crispy bread with some small pieces of goat cheese on top was definitely a waste of money. We are having to get used to the much higher prices for eating out since the pandemic, but I do not like feeling short-changed..... We will return, of course.

Having been to the Leicester Square Bella this was a massive upgrade. It was clean and tidy The service was a little slow but nice you ordered the food was out quickly. We enjoyed it and would return I also recommend the pizza with the honey drizzle it’s superb

Generally poor. Pizzas weren’t very nice, over cooked and just bland. Calamari completely over cooked. Just a poor meal all round.

Absolute farce. Far too busy for the amount of staff and unable to cope. Left for 20 plus minutes after eating with food sat in front of us and then forgot to bring deserts out. Had to ask several times and then forgot one - had to ask again. Really disappointed in the service today.

Popped in this evening and main was served really quickly. Pasta dishes were so tasty and I was very happy with my choice (Pollo Funghi). As mains has come out so quick we ordered dessert but unfortunately they took absolutely ages to come out (over 25 minutes). We still had a 1 hour 20 min drive home and were about to ask them to not bother with the desserts. Checked the bill via QR code on the table. The desserts had been added already and they then appeared. No real apology about how delayed they had been. Such a shame as it had been super quick up until then!

Positives: Welcome and staff friendliness was spot on, that's why there are 2 stars instead of 1. Also it was clean and had nice decor Negatives: The food was really bad. Calamari was like dried up chewy bits of leather in a tasteless crispy crumb. Vege Pizza was like cardboard and had no flavour. I could literally lift the whole pizza up like a Frisbee. I won't go back there. And would never recommend.

I am all for great customer service it really sets everything right so with really great service from the off with complimentary drinks because they were running a little behind schedule, but made up for it because the food was great. Fresh and piping hot served with care i will say unlike some places where food is slapped on the plate with not one ounce of presentation.
