Had a lovely meal, staff were super friendly and helpful throughout my experience. Would highly recommend for a delicious meal

Normally use Lion Street but was stepdaughters birthday and we were going to Odeon at riverside, so she wanted to go to Bella Italia. Huge mistake! It is an insult to describe the food as Italian. Staff were fairly friendly and tried their best under the circumstances, but when the ‘cook’ has given up, they are fighting a losing battle. The starter was ok, same as we normally have at the Lion street restaurant, but then everything changed. Cold plates, cold food, congealed sauce, reheated pasta, how hard is it to cook fresh pasta?? And only a handful of customers so not run off their feet. We were there about 3pm, spag bol, carbonara, and spicy seafood pasta. Prawns perfect, but thats where it ended.’ The ‘cook’ there is not a chef, has no desire or passion and was happy to serve the worst food i have had in years. Totally spoilt the birthday meal and we had to cook when we got home. Carbonara was unbelievably poor. This is NOTHING like Italian food. I hope the Lion street restaurant doesnt drop to these low standards

A lovely Italian treat for the family. If your out it the city of Norwich and fancy a nice Italian, Bella Italia is the place to fulfil your Italian needs. A good range of Italian desserts to choose from as well. Although It can take a while to get your Italian food

4 of us went for a meal and waited 45 minutes for the starter and 35 for the main. The drinks were also fairly slow. The food wasn’t awful but certainly wasn’t particularly nice- 4/10. We didn’t complain but there weren’t any apologies for having to wait such a long time or any offer of a discount for the inconvenience. A waste of £120 unfortunately.

Ok if you just want a quick Italian meal. Service was OK but I don't like being called "Lovely" or "Darling". Food was just adequate. Cinema next door and many other chain restaurants.

I had a wonderful experience at Bella this evening, the staff were great and the food was delicious, our server was very attentive!

To start with the service from Chelsea was fantastic, she instantly made us feel welcome and the experience was very comfortable and enjoyable when she took our orders she made sure we got the best deals and checked on us while we were eating. The food itself was delicious, as usual and portion size was just right & food was nice and hot. Overall was a fantastic experience and will be coming back for any more family meals out.

Great place to eat just before seeing a movie. Just met up with my family after coming back from London so I was already quite full from breakfast there. To start with the service from Bryony was fantastic, instantly made the experience very comfortable and enjoyable when she took our orders and checked on us while we were eating. The food itself was delicious, as usual and portion size wasn’t too large but not too small which was a boon for me as prior I had a massive full English. Overall was a fantastic experience and will be coming back for any cinema related meals out.

We arrived last night, on a busy Friday evening- the Lionesses were playing at Carrow Rd and I had Booked a table for 6pm. We arrived a little early - the Restaurant was very busy and had to turn people who had not booked away.. Thankfully we had booked….. or so I thought!! Unfortunately it turned out I had booked a table for the wrong Friday !! Upon discovering this the staff were so helpful and I’m not sure if it was the manager but the chap seating people found us a table by the door I think the only spare table, he apologised that it was close to the door but this was not a worry for us, we were just very grateful for this. They apologised for the wait for food (we could see how busy they were) but having said that the wait was not a great one nor was it an issue, the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. The food tasty and wine good- we were pleased to be out of the rain and enjoying our meal before going to watch the Lionesses. Thank you so much for going over and above for us. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, I have visited before and will visit again. 😊

My partner and I went for dinner without booking on a Saturday in June at about 7:30pm, and although the first member of staff told us he couldn't fit us in as we hadn't booked, a helpful female member of staff did (interestingly there were many tables free the whole evening..). Our waitress, Chelsea, was very helpful and polite; explaining anything we needed to know. We chose the three course set menu which had many of the choices from the main menu for each course. The service and food was good. We would go again.

Came in today for a meal, (Wednesday) best food, recommend the spicy sausage pasta 🍝 fast service, can’t wait to go back. Super kid friendly too! Served by Chelsea :-)

We visited last Saturday for lunch and had a lovely meal. The staff were accommodating of us changing tables and were attentive throughout. We were visiting with our two small children and our lovely waitress Chelsea fussed over them and made them feel so welcome. She even noticed my little one looking sad at one point because her sister had dough balls and she didn't and promptly went to get us more which was so incredibly kind and made the meal enjoyable for all of us. The food was really delicious, nothing was left! We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you!!

Worst meal I have ever had! Ordered a Marguerite pizza. When it finally came it was cold and I couldn’t get a knife through it! Finally had it taken away and was brought a pasta dish which to be honest wasn’t much better! My husband ordered Affrogato for desert and when he told them it should have 2 scoops of ice cream was told that “the one scoop was the size of 2”!!! The restaurant itself was cold with the air con blasting away. Would certainly not visit here again.

Don’t wast your money Bill was £74 for 3 meals. My mocktail just tasted of soda water, my pizza was so hard I couldn’t cut it. The salad was so old the rocket had shrivelled. More red cabbage than salad and the most microscopic amount of balsamic dressing over it. Had to sit outside as no tables inside even though it wasn’t busy. No one came out to ask if the meal was ok Not a good experience

Bella Italia!! Well, where do I start? Warming smiles as soon as you walk through the door. Decor is beautifully done too! Waitress “Chelsea” - What an asset to your team! Very chatty and bubbly. Service is what makes a great meal out!! Food came out piping hot, just what I like. Don’t be put off by the reviews, I will be returning !

Below average food. Positives- lots of (young) staff present but not very busy. Polite and attentive. Drinks good. Starters - meatballs and the mushrooms. Both very small portions- mushrooms ridiculously so- maybe 2 tablespoons if that (shame as nice flavour) Pizzas- meat one and garlic bread lasagne one - both 3/10. Little sauce or cheese so dry. We said were very disappointing - Wetherspoons pizza superior and lot less £ Desserts - passion fruit alfredo was awful- a block of frozen hard type ice cream with a biscuit base that came away and tasted “old” - just unpleasant - brownie was very dry saved by ice cream he said Had an offer but would have had to said something if paid full price as sadly below par food. Sorry for negative review but it really was poor food.

My partner and I drove up to Norwich for the football and we ate here just after the game. We obviously expected it to be busy due to being a match day but that didn’t affect our experience at all. A female waitress took our order and from then we were served by Harry. He was amazing and couldn’t have done anything more for us - he was very apologetic when one of our sides was unavailable which we wasn’t told originally when we ordered with a different member of staff. We really enjoyed our meal.

We both had butternut risotto and bought a main salad to share as it worked out cheaper than 2 side salads. The risotto was very disappointing. It should be creamy but it was just white rice with a few bits of squash, not even decent chunks of squash. Most were the edge with the rind. It was very watery. To give it some flavour we added lots of cheese and a lot of what we both though was pepper. Unfortunately the salt pot had the pepper lid on so we then had inedible food as our meals were then smothered in excessive amounts of salt. We did mention it to the waitress so that the condiment was off the table as wouldn’t want it to happen to anyone else. Neither of us like East’s so we ate it and spent the rest of the evening feeling very unwell due to the amount of salt we ingested. We won’t be returning, not because of the salt but the very poor quality of the meal. Also the pricing needs to be more straightforward. We had a blue light card but when we went to pay it would have been cheaper if we had used one of their other online offers. 2 stars given because the ambience was good and the staff were amazing!

Visited Riverside today and it really is a beautiful restaurant, really light and modern. Great food!! I had the King Prawns and Lasagne, followed by the Cookie dough. Everything was piping hot and delicious. Quick and attentive service, the staff were really lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back!

Really disappointing experience in Norwich Riverside restaurant. Initially a long wait to be serviced (around 20 minutes) however was on a quiet evening. Order was messed up on the system so two meals served around 15 minutes before the other 4 meals. Food was very average and not worth it even at a discounted rate. The same drinks charged at different rates. Had to ask for discount to be added to the meals as per their promotion. Food and service both need improvements. Highly disappointing don’t waste your money. No compensation given, go elsewhere.

Arrived and seated, drinks order taken and starters arrived all ok. Then 30--40 minutes for main courses to arrive- all cold/cool.(probably sat on the parse for a long time) before delivered to table. We were offered a recook but we didn't have time as had train to catch - the waitress did taken £30 off the bill. My mother has carbonara and in the middle was a solid block of spaghetti stuck together - when mentioned to the staff member who cleared the table she just chuckled. Also don't scape the plates at the table this is just basics of hospitality. Will never go here again, shame because previous visits at other restaurants have been decent.

Whilst the grandkids enjoyed their meal and our food was good value, the temperature so cold inside that we had to keep our jackets on throughout the meal. The staff were pleasant and the service was good, but we will not be returning as the cold ruined our meal.

We stopped for lunch before going to the cinema next door. The restaurant is very friendly and comfortable, the service is professional and the food is very good and well served.
