Big Easy in City of London, Westminster

We had the pre theatre, express menu and it was fabulous! Such good value with just enough selection of mains and drinks to make a good, varied choice - and a snitch at £11 for 2 courses (an extra fiver for starter/desert). We had the most wonderful waiter who was so attentive to us 4 indecisive ladies! Nothing was too much; he did an expert job. Thank you. If you fancy a diner/grill experience with good size portions at a very reasonable price and with great service, definitely head here!

Lovely food with generous portions and good service despite being busy. They forgot a drink we ordered during our meal so took it off the bill when we had to ask for it again, which was good of them. The seating is very cramped and atmosphere extremely loud but to be expected as we went at peak time.

Hand to adjust as the atmosphere and quality have dipped since 8 years ago.

We ordered lobster MAC cheese they charged the same price for children didn't even gave children option. Although the prosecco was replaced for soda they kept 28£. The manager at arrival wasn't welcoming at all. We love Big easy but definitely this one Convent Garden we won't come back

They keep forgetting items in delivery

Whilst the food and the atmosphere were great, unfortunately I was let down by the service on this visit. I believe that drinks should be on the table before receiving your starters and I observed some shockingly poor service from the colleague who sat a couple next to my table who was on the phone whilst walking the couple to the table and simply threw the menus on the table and muttered “that table there”. I will return for the food if the service is improved!

Went for the Saturday brunch they could do NO food for a dairy and egg allergy sufferer we asked if our server could do anything she said no as she wasn't able to speak to the kitchen. Can't recommend this place at all.

Big Easy in London's Theatre District was an absolute feast and a highlight of my solo trip last year. If you're looking for a place to indulge in some serious seafood, this is the spot. Been a few times now and every time we’ve had an allergen issue. Clearly waiters aren’t trained properly about how to deal with allergens - at the start of all the meals I made my allergy very clear that I can’t eat onion and despite that all the dishes came out visibly with onion on ( nachos visibly coated in spring onion), ordered 2 lots of popcorn shrimp only the second time round was told the sauce has onion which I’d already eaten the first time. Same with my previous experience having onion left in burgers and just picked out (by staff in front of us) despite telling them before we ordered and asked them to make a note for the kitchen. Really disappointing as we love the food there- it’s worth avoiding if you have severe anaphylaxis as there’s no guarantees!

The food was okay—nothing amazing, but not bad either. However, the drinks and service were a different story. I ordered a gin and tonic, but it tasted like tap water. We went to the bar to see if something could be done, and they suggested paying for a double. We agreed, but it still didn’t taste any better. We even asked the bartender to make it in front of us to make sure it was gin, but it still tasted like water. We started to wonder if it was actually gin at all. When we got the bill, we saw a service charge added, which didn’t feel right considering the drink was undrinkable. We asked the manager to remove it from the bill since we hadn’t finished it. Instead of being understanding, the manager shouted at us, accusing us of trying to get “three drinks for free.” His attitude was completely unprofessional, and we couldn’t understand why we were being treated this way when we hadn’t even consumed the drink. It felt like the staff didn’t care about customer satisfaction, which seems to be a common thing in London these days. I won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

Worst restaurant visit ever. Lousy service - the waiters didn't even know what the place offered, bad food - the worst ribs I've ever eaten. Far too expensive for too little service. I would have preferred to give my money back Not worth it - never again. NO RECOMMENDATIONrequested

The place is run like a dump, total tourist trap. Total lies about when you can have the deals and more importantly when not. Today is not a Bank Holiday. They mention on one of the deals about Black out days, but no further details on when they are. Week day specials don’t mention it. Doubles the price of your meal. Staff are rude! There are much better places in London. Give it a miss.

Great bottomless brunch at The Big Easy! Service was excellent, food and drink very good and atmosphere amazing!

Many years ago I used to go to the Original Big Easy in King’s Road quite often and loved it. When I came across the Big Easy Restaurant in Covent Garden I was expecting to have a wonderful meal. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I ordered Texas brisket , it was so full of fat (50 per cent of the portion) that I could not eat it. The manager was called and advised me to choose something else. I asked for Caesar Salad, which came with wilted lettuce drowned in a bland dressing. The atmosphere was nice, service was reasonable, but the food was terrible . I will definitely not be going there again.

We came for the Monday menu and it wasn’t available. They failed to explain us why they didn’t have it. When we ordered another thing they kept getting confused with the order.

It was very busy but we were seated near the bar. We had our order taken fairly quickly but it took over 35 minutes for our drinks (bottle of wine they didn't even have) and our food was only 5 mins after. Food and wine were both beautiful. Atmosphere was great - fantastic live music

Pulled pork wasn’t very nice compared to other places

It's kind of like a big American food bar and the whole restaurant smells strongly of Barbecue sauce. But if you just fancy a nice fatty bite, then this certainly won't disappoint. I ordered the spare ribs myself, and they fell right off the bone. The portions are also certainly large enough.

I have been there now several times. It is one of my favourite places to eat. However, this time around, it looks they have changed the management team. We wanted a lobster meal, and we were informed we have to order the chips separately. This was never the case before. Chips were included in the meal. Apart from that, all good.

Woah this place has gone down hill! Service was shocking… we were surrounded by dirty tables which were never cleaned, stacks of dirty plates on show next to the kitchen, crap on the floor, absolutely no table service so were waiting 45 mins to order .. had to ask 4 times for cutlery. To finish it off we were served the bill half way through the mains..how rude! The lady at the front desk seemed to be wearing all the hats and was the only person taking orders and cleaning tables whilst the dozen or so other staff were standing around. 5 stars to her for keeping up a smile and doing her best. Food was ok.. lobster was v chewy and didn’t match the price tag. Overall v disappointing experience.

Very lively restaurant and the food is really good, sadly our server let it down with really poor service and a bad attitude questioning the amount of what we ordered, providing no help at all doing the same to the table next to us which they also shared unhappy signs towards comments and body actions of really bad attitude. Food great and the team serving food great but sadly our waiter very poor.

Very bad experience! First of all I wanted to have their Lobster roll which they only serve with Prosecco for £29 but I don’t drink alcohol, so I asked if I could have coke instead but I was expecting to pay slightly less then £29, but they told me that is a set menu and price will be the same. I asked if I could have chips instead and they said no. So in the end I didn’t order it. 1st disappointment. When the food arrived on table: my friend Lobster was over cooked, my chicken burger was so little and not even hot, my friend half lobster was so little and they forgo the chip, but mainly we didn’t have no cutlery, and we needed to ask a few times to have them, while the food was getting even colder. We asked for salt & pepper and they never brought it. I paid £30 including sc for a very small chicken burger, fries and a coke, which wasn’t an original Coke, but a pint of sweet, watery, flat fake coke! Nobody thanked us or say goodbye to use when we were leaving. Only our waiter was nice but he forgot everything service wise. I left disappointed and hungry!! Mostly hungry. Never ever anymore!

Had a group booking for a team lunch - the sharing food was delicious (and there was a LOT of it), and the team were all very friendly. Will definitely go back (once I shake off the meat sweats)

It took 25 minutes for a glass of white wine to arrive and it was tepid not chilled The fork I was given to eat with was flattened as if ironed, so had to ask for another one The dishes used to serve coleslaw and beans had broken handles. Those served to my friend were in the same state With a little care and staff training this place could be great

They use seedoils to fry in. 😫😩😳😠 Everyone knows how bad seedoils are for humans. They are not meant to be in our body! It’s just cheaper then natural fat.

Where do I start. We were a party of 8 adults and 5 kids and most of the party had a decent meal of burgers but I didn’t and I’m the one leaving a review. I ordered a fillet steak which, at nearly 40 quid alone I was expecting to be pretty damn good. Add on chips at 5 quid and peppercorn sauce at 4 quid and you’re talking fifty quid for a steak and chips. It ought to be great. When it came out it looked miniscule, and when I cut it open it was well overcooked, so I told the waitress and she took it back and said she’d get another. I was then left with a pot of chips and my sauce going cold. 10 minutes later my same steak reappeared after having been put back on the grill to be cooked to oblivion. Not sure why my message got interpreted wrongly but you obviously cannot uncook a steak so they just cooked it more..?! I then spoke to the waitress again and explained what I wanted as simply as I could and she then took my plate away again. 10 minutes later a manager appeared and I explained what had gone wrong and she said she’d get me another steak, I reiterated medium rare. I told her my chips and sauce were also now cold & she said she’d sort them too. About 15 minutes later when my fillet steak reappeared it had been butterflied like a chicken breast and looked like a pair of attached beef burger castanets. It was cooked on the outside and also cut and opened and grilled so it was cooked on the inside too. It was as thin as a minute steak and again, well overcooked. Never seen anything like it. To make matters worse. About 35 minutes had elapsed since everyone else’s food had arrived so I basically would have eaten alone. Really disappointed.

Very very average. Went for a work’s Christmas do, luckily boss was paying. 2 rounds of drinks sent back as G&Ts were completely flat. My steak and lobster (£43) was 2 out of 5, I could hardly find any lobster. I left very hungry.

Service 10/10-we’ve been to another branch with a just as big party where the service was subpar but Mike was accommodating, welcoming and patient. Atmosphere was wonderful with the live singers, my friends and I loved them. Food was very good (steak, platters, burgers, ribs and wings) but some of a bbq was a little dry and but the extra bbq and buffalo sauce helped. Thank you again to Mike for a great evening !!

There was 5 of us, 3 of our meals turned up Luke warm,so we had to wait while our food was replaced,you only get a 2 hour slot we was being rushed of our table b4 our time

We visited with a group of 7 friends and had an extremely underwhelming experience. When booking. I specifically requested standard seating due to a back problem, but the staff, particularly a disrespectful lady, insisted on seating us at high chairs with ridiculous excuses. The food was less than mediocre, with portions that were embarrassingly small. The steak was edible though. For a total bill of £400, we left hungry and feeling completely let down. The ambiance was also disappointing – it was so loud that we couldn’t even have a proper conversation. We ended up leaving and finding another place, which turned out to be much better. All 7 of us agreed that we wouldn’t return to this chain. Definitely not worth the money or the time.

Never got served, and was in there for 30mins. Had to ask for everything including menus and to order and they never came.

Going downhill. Visited quite a few times but each time the quality of the BBQ seems to be dropping. Poor quality meat and sauces. That said value is ok as part of the daily deals.

Amazing food!! My partner and I went for a date lunch in London on a Saturday. First of all, I'm amazed that there's such a great spot for bottomless brunch on a Saturday, considering that most places don't do this kind of deal on weekends. Also, most bottomless places seem to skimp out on quality or portion size. This place does neither. We got the lobster and steak and bottomless BBQ. For both I was pleasantly surprised with the size and flavour. Our waiter was Mike. Even though it was super busy, he was attentive and made sure that the bottomless drinks kept coming. Honestly it's a fantastic spot and I'd definitely recommend it and come again!

Extremely dissapponted, went there for the unlimited bbq brunch and was not nice. Food tasted like it he'd been cooked this morning and just say on a hot shelf, it was luke warm, dry and just overall wasn't nice. The best part of the meal was the coleslaw and thats saying something when it's supposed to be a bbq pit resturant. It's certainly no Bodeans thats for sure!

Visited a couple of weeks ago and the place was absolutely heaving! Clearly very popular. I arrived solo and couldn't find my people, two different members of staff acknowledged me and tried to help which was nice and appreciated. As for the overall dining experience, kind of average. I felt a bit bad for our server because she was obviously run off her feet and needed help. But due to this we were just left in a corner. The food was fine, 3/5. We all had a mix of brisket and chicken sandwiches. The truffle fries can't be called truffle fries because of a sprinkle of truffle salt and truffle mayo. Not at £7. From my first and only visit... I can't say I get it.

Super loud for a restaurant, so much so some of our party had to leave and tje servers couldn't hear our orders so got it wrong. Food was average, but given the price was exceptionally poor.

Very noisy but friendly atmosphere. Very hot in the restaurant. The food I found to be sweet and dry( I had pulled pork) much too sweet. With steaks at £39 I found it very expensive and I would never eat there again.

This place offers a Texas experience, with a rustic and lively atmosphere. I went with my partner for their £11 meal deal and it's unbeatable: generous portions of BBQ and classics like ribs or chicken, accompanied by side dishes that complete the dish. In addition, the shakes (I ordered a Chocolate one) are creamy and delicious, the perfect complement for a meal of this type.. "A great place to enjoy good food and atmosphere at an excellent price!" Don't waste it!!!

Food was good, but the service was horrible. Had to wait 30 minutes to get our drinks, by then we had already gotten our food. Had to ask a second waiter to get the bill, our waiter wasn't interested. Live music was ok, but they played so loud it was impossible to keep a conversation going around the table.

This is a place for fab food, very much BBQ and huge and noisy. Good food and great fun singing along ( embarrassing your kids) . Great place , top notch fun . Great place for meeting up and feeding teenagers.

Very expensive for what you get. Disabled toilet had no paper, told the manager and he just said 'I know'! No apology. Only got a chicken leg when others with the same meal got a breast. Good choice of beers. We won't be returning.

My first time at big easy, so much to choose from but the food was lovely.

Food was OK but what do you expect fo 40 quid. Don't order the cocktails because they are frozen and won't get a refill until it's all gone. Ribs are good wings are good and so is the burnt ends. The rest are so so. Cheap lunch for the city

As always, impeccable service, food and ambience. The best value Texas BBQ diner in London (& quite possibly the UK)! Please expand to other major cities around the UK eg. Milton Keynes. People outside of London don't know what they have been missing!

Excellent food and service from Remslee

Me and my son very much enjoyed our lunch today. Very tasty food throughout. My one criticism, maybe chips could be included in the price if the BBQ platters.

We didn't have a reservation but they did kindly find us a table for 2 in the annex. The steak was lovely but the lobster was over done looked like it had been sitting on a hot plate for a while. They also didn't bring anything to crack open the lobster and they offered us 1 glass of wine as compensation when we really had 2 bad lobsters.

Service needs to be sharpened.... It was a bottomless lunch and we were forever trying to get the attention of the waiter. Manager was very good about it when he realised we were struggling being noticed but wasn't the best. We had surf and turf and it was bloody gorgeous... Frozen margaritas where like shaved ice with tiny flavour..... just get the prosecco or better still big easy should just serve normal margaritas. I would go back but would sit near bar

What an amazing place! Wish it opened later

The Big Easy used to be amazing and Chelsea still has a great vibe. But this is the 3rd visit with colleagues over the last 6 months to Covent Garden and its amazingly terrible. The staff behaviour when a colleague asked for refill made us feel awkward. It's not for staff to judge and whisper to each other if a customer takes up an offer. This wasn't just for us, it was obvious about another table too. It should be expected that customers will ask for a refill of something thats advertised as 'bottomless'. It was frankly pathetic. The restaurant was quiet and they took so long for each refill that it was actually pathetic. Like footballers with no talent just time wasting. The Big Easy was never like this. The atmosphere was poor with several waiters talking to each other instead of customers. And overall it just felt awkward and tired. Its simple If you offer something bottomless, when people ask for more, your staff shouldn't judge. Even being a previous Big Easy regular, I'm not sure I'd return in a hurry, there are so many great places like this now. Just a shame.

Overall an ok experience but was let down by the main. I was looking forward to some American style brisket and what I got was 3 slices of very dry meat. The other guests I were with shared the same thoughts, however I will go back to at least try the lobster/sea and/or the pork ribs. I'll Update this review following a revisit.

Great early lunch, relatively quiet which made it easy to talk, food was prompt, hot and very tasty! Service was great without being intrusive. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Thank you.

What an awful restaurant. Very much about the gimmick rather than good quality food or service. I found the restaurant below harvester quality as a comparison and charging you on avg £20 a main without sides. Which £6.50 for the same £2 chips but with some dried truffle thing sprinkled on top was highly disappointing. Also very small portions. Pulled pork bun was VERY dry we had to order extra sauce to make it every the slightest bit edible. If you wanted the happy hour promo you had to go up stairs and buy them yourselves at the bar. And when I went to leave they had moved all the other tables so close together you couldn’t get through and where there was a gap, the ceiling lights are so low I couldn’t duck far enough down to get under. Wouldn’t recommend, overpriced, gimmick.

Visited with a couple of friends and the food was amazingly good. We've been looking for a restaurant that does the perfect American BBQ-style food. I think Big Easy is in my top 10 list. Service was good although very busy. Atmosphere was great.

Food very nice very nice dining

Was excited to go but food was only ok, came it cold overal. The service was poor, extremely slow. No sugar and cinnamon on the outside of the churros so hugely disappointing. No white sugar for coffee!!! I specialist milks at all either. Just overall lacking. In taking care of the customer. Real shame.

The food was amazing, however, the service was very poor and below the standards you would expect from a Big Easy. Although our initial order was taken quite promtly, service once our food arrived was non existent. At no point were we asked if our food was what we had expected, no one came and asked if we wanted additional drinks or even a dessert. It took us 15 mins to get the attention of someone to pay the bill. Come on Big Easy, you are better than this and I hope this is an isolated incident.
