Bistro Restaurant at Campanile - Wakefield in Wakefield

Pros - low budget, clean basic room, very nice buffet breakfast, friendly staff, free parking, easy access to motorway and city centre. Cons - a little difficult to find, located in an industrial estate, looks like a block of run-down flats, no lift, room smelled of smoke despite being "non-smoking", scattered cig ends outside the door told the story. Overall - if you're looking for a no-frills cheap hotel you've come to the right place. Personally I'd pay a bit more for better facilities

Ok.... so this feedback is more for the hotel than the bistro which seemed fairly tidy and well staffed. The hotel which I just reviewed I felt needed a response to the manager. The manager feedback to my review is absolutely dishonest the room was dirty as proved by the pictures which I could have taken more. We were not spoken to through door as they stated. This is just a cop out as they hadn’t acted on anything. The hairdryer in the room was not tested by qualified electricians otherwise there would be a sticker on it to tell you it had. The email address for feedback to contact the manager is also not a recognisable address. I would not believe any response from this hotel.

We was meeting some friends who were staying at the campanile, so knowing it had a restaurant and bar we said we would meet there. What a cold and horrible environment. We had 1 extremely over priced drink and left. The service was rude and the atmosphere extremely stale. We won't be back

Bonito pero el resto, Camembert absolutamente horrible. Sólo comimos, así que no débil con el hambre. Tortilla estaba hecha con un huevo y ensalada debe de venir de una bolsa.

Comí en el restaurante en un par de ocasiones mientras se hospeda en el hotel. La comida era sencilla, no una amplia variedad, pero muy bien preparado y muy sabroso. Precio muy razonable. El personal era muy servicial.

Breakfast after a night out in wakefield, complimentary continental but have to pay for cooked. Could have got more for the price, one sausage, one rasher bacon, one egg, one hash brown, beans and mushrooms, but ok

Overpriced mediocre fare pretending to be bistro style , unappealing overpriced. Loads more restaurants nearby that are far better.

Stayed for 10 nights no complaints at all rooms very comfortable bar is a bit pricey but great service from Terry andSimon

Family travelled from Northants for a get together for one evening, which was spoiled by groups of lads, particularly a group of Lads from Wales celebrating beating England in the 6 nations. We were assured that the lads would be leaving by 8 so ordered our meals only to find that they didn't leave until coffee by which time our evening had been ruined by their over exuberance. We couldn't hear one another and I left with a headache from all the noise. Little choice on the menu, food average and no reconpense for the discourteous behaviour mentioned above, so evening was ruined. Won't be back ever again.

Simple, perfectly cooked, with very decent accessibly-priced wine. It's cheap; it's French. Say no more.
