Came for lunch! Fede was amazing! Food was delicious!

Made a reservation and it was wonderful. Food was incredible, the rib eye, the lamb and burger were spectacular. We also ordered the cheesecake for dessert and it was incredible so we ordered another! The waiter was super kind, the wine was delicious. Thankyou!

Went to Blacklock for a 30th birthday celebration and we're able to be seated early despite it being a busy Saturday night. Service was quick and efficient, food was delicious. Would highly recommend, we will be back

This place is great! made a reservation on opentable and was able to be seated immediately. ordered the 700g porterhouse for 2 and it was cooked to perfection! We also tried the egg + anchovy for the small bites and ended up getting a second one, it was delish! Will def come back here again if I want some steak!

Best Sunday roast ever! Definitely recommend!

Visited with my lady, father & stepmother for a post Christmas catchup. We visited on a Saturday, so we did not get a chance to sample their roast, which led to my discovery of this place on YT Shorts. Downstairs entry, unfortunately, does preclude disability access. Wood panelled walls and low slung wood & leather seating lend it a classic 20th century local dining feel. Each diner gets individual cutlery & plates for a varied experience, so no 2 visits would be the same. Fillet Steak ×3 Ribeye Steak Sweet Potato Bread & Gravy Beef Dripping Chips ×3 Garlic Bone Marrow Green Sauce Bread & Butter Pudding ×2 White Chocolate Cheescake Raspberry Sorbet & Vanilla Ice Cream The food & service were wonderful throughout. A cosy dining experience with high-quality meat being served. The steaks were pre seasoned and cooked to perfection. We all had a good time here, the waiting staff & chefs are to be commended.

This is a true meat restaurant! Food did what it said on the tin, waitress was probably having a bad day as it was efficient but cold service.

An amazing experience as always. The steak was succulent and cooked to perfection. The serving staff were attentive and well deserved the service charge. Even when there were any issues they were solved immediately and with care. I will come back again!

They were able to squeeze me in for Sunday roast without a reservation. I’m American so at the end of my roast I asked for Yorkshire pudding (read on the menu thinking it was desert) the server seemed confused and brought it anyways. My server, Abu, noticed my confusion, he brought me cheesecake complimentary. Shout out to him, he was amazing. It did take a while as they were super busy but overall, great experience!

Our server made some awesome recommendations that we followed! The food was awesome. Cooked perfectly to our requests. Pre bites, starter, steak, multiple sides and sauces, dessert and drinks all for under £150 including service. So good.

Really nice place. We had the roast on Sunday which was very nice (especially the meat). However the roast potatoes were really bad, they didn’t taste fresh at all and were even chewy. We were really disappointed but the rest of the meal was good.

In an old pole dancing club in Great Windmill Street, we were greeted by our handler – a charismatic maître d’ with an amazing memory. The place was buzzing, and 4 men had just been cautioned to keep it down at the next table. They saw us and pre-warned us – I said “loud was good, as long as it was funny.” Food We started with pig’s head on toast with a generous boat of gravy – meaty, savoury and a great start to our eating adventure – Then prawn cocktail – generous on the sauce laid on crunchy lettuce, just how it should be. For the main we went for the 800 gram prime rib – medium – This was superb – The test of a steak is to eat it with nothing on – well salted, well rested and with a wonderful depth of flavour. We had chips, slaw and 3 sauces with that – Bearnaise, gravy and the marrow – not really a sauce – 2 cut open bones – all excellent. We went back for more bread and gravy afterwards. For the wine, a bottle of the Cabernet / Syrah - £48 – Lively, fruity and well made. That and a few coffees and we were done. It was my son’s birthday, so they provided an Eton Mess like pot with a candle in – We got the rowdies to sing along! All in all (£100 a head with service included) a fine and memorable meal. Recommended.

O All In é um misto de costeleta de borrego com entremeada de porco e costeleta de porco também. Pelo preço que paguei esperava muito mais. Fomos em casal com um filho de 5 anos. E fui quase obrigado a pagar uma dose para o meu filho que comeu uma costeleta. Restaurante muito barulhento. Nada adequado a crianças/ famílias. Tem uma boa vibe, os empregados são atenciosos. Os acompanhamentos também são bons.

Excellent steak place down a staircase in Soho. Doesn't take bookings so a bit of waiting (1 hour at 1900) was needed. Went to town on this one by absolutely taking all the good cuts - which was hilarious because they ran out of smaller sizes by the time I went and ended up with 3 chunks of over 700 g each of different cuts of meat. Nevertheless, they got seen to. Great kudos on the friendly and reliable service. Also something remarkable happened - the steaks were cooked actually as requested rather than a grade or 2 more cooked then desired. Great job for the temperamental world of steak restaurants. The wines were reasonably priced and had a decent range. Also did beers and some cocktails. Overall highly recommended in an excellent location in the heart of Soho

managed to get a last minute walk in for the Sunday roast. service was really fast once we sat down and the servers were very friendly, even making a few jokes with us at the table. the food was absolutely incredible! the portion size was huge and everything was cooked perfectly

Amazing absolutely the best Steak in London

We entered the amazing location, and we decided to let the chef "Francesco" to help us with food and wine combinations, after asking us few questions, he amazingly selected appetizers and main for us! The wine selected was perfect as well. The chef also managed to leave a tiny little space in our stomach, which allowed us to be able to try the amazing cheesecake made in house.. Service was incredible, waiters were always available if needed. Bill is perfectly aligned with the quality of the experience!

Favourite restaurant in London tbh, it’s always a good time and we book in for our next roast as we leave. The all in mon-sat is excellent value for money and the staff are brilliant - 10/10 lads would do again

Well, it's safe to say that it's definitely worth all the hype! After booking a good few months in advance, we finally came down for our Christmas Sunday dinner! The staff there are super friendly and always checking in and cleaning tables, and the atmosphere was incredibly cosy! When the food came, the man was really lovely and explained where each piece of meat was before leaving us to enjoy. The food was unbelievable. I have honestly never had food like it, especially a Sunday roast up to that standard! I have never had beef with such flavour, and the pork was the best I have ever had. We were both too stuffed for dessert, but wow, was it great! My only nitpick is that my cocktail was tiny, but it was very strong. Personally, I prefer my drinks a bit bigger and less strong, but that's a preference! Overall, it was the best roast I have ever had! Would definitely recommend it!

I ordered their burger, thick cut chips and coleslaw. I can't fault the cookery of the meat but everything tasted a bit too bland and boring. Especially for the price! The cheesecake was nice but the spoon it comes with is better suited to eating soup!

Fantastic chops. We always go for the All In. Beer is served by the schooner / half pint which is novel. Always a good vibe and busy; so a reliably good option in London. You usually need to book in advance!

Bit of a wait for a table but worth every minute as the steak was divine. Normally have peppercorn sauce with steak and was given an extra "house sauce", which I think was Blacklock Gravy. I have a new favourite sauce now......

A small , busy , friendly place for casual dining , great quality meat and excellent service . Simple menu well done. Nice range of price options available from good to lavish, nice wine list.

Blacklock never disappoints when you want a good quality steak. I have eaten at a couple of the locations in London and the food is always great. Good service, Phil was extremely good at his job and looked after us well. Came with 2 friends and everyone loved the meal and all came out of here praising the meal we had. Can't beat the big steaks! Always a no brainer.

Have been a regular for mslany years, but last time the meat was a little over cooked, might have been a one off, let's hope!

Great place, Sunday roast is amazing

Great service, lush dessert (get the cheesecake), damn good cocktails and it's cosy inside so perfect for winter. Don't share the chips, you won't want to share.

We have been to Blacklock a few times but only on a Sunday for a roast dinner which is absolutely divine. This time we came for steak and it was very disappointing. It’s much cheaper than Hawksmoor but all 3 of us found the steak touch. I asked for my Fillet to be well done but it was quite red inside. The beef dripping chips and of course the gravy were divine. We will return to try the sharing platter of chips next time.

My sister and I dined here last weekend. We had the pre chop bites, the 'all in' with chips and parmesan kale as sides and a bread and butter pudding to share. I also had a pint of beer, a glass of red wine and what I can only describe as a boozy blackforrest gateaux drink. The food and the service were top notch and I would highly recommend Blacklock to everyone. The venue is in a basement and it's compact but the tables aren't on top of each other and although quite noisy when full it was still a great place to be. Thank you

Amazing Sunday roast. We ordered the all-in platter (pork loin, beef rump, and lamb) with all the trimmings to share with our friends visiting London. The meat was tender and juicy, and the Yorkshire puddings were fluffy. We enjoyed all of it. The service was great. Our waitress gave us more trimmings as we were also sharing the platter with our little one. Dessert was white chocolate cheesecake which was delicious. Overall a great place conveniently located for a casual dinner out with friends!

They say its fully booked but a lot of tables are clearly available..

Very friendly staff, the garlic bone marrow is a good supplement to the sirloin. The fat included in the steak is a bit too much though. Chips are cripsy, but nothing special.

Such a fabulous place! We walked in on a Tuesday lunchtime and managed to get seated. The place was buzzing and full of people having fun. Our waiter was brilliant and really added so much value. We ordered a 700gram steak to share- honestly one of the tastiest I’ve had. And then to top it off my other half had the cheese cake and they gave me a free bonus bowl of cheesecake topping because I have coeliac disease and missed cheesecake! Just an absolute gem of a place! Would highly recommend, and even more so if you have a gluten allergy!

Siempre tratamos de llegar a Blacklock cada vez que visitamos Londres. No es un lugar obvio para encontrar, pero eso también aumenta su atractivo. Reservamos para 3. 45 pm y nos sentamos un poco temprano. Este lugar está ocupado y creo que nunca lo he visto tranquilo. El servicio es excelente y las mesas espaciosas. La comida relajada, pero puntual es una de las razones por las que volvemos. El menú realmente no cambia... Chuletas para empezar (increíble) tuvimos cordero, cerdo, cerdo t - hueso y una chuleta. El condimento se rompe. Para seguir... costillar ojo cocinado a la perfección con patatas fritas de carne de vaca fueron simplemente increíbles. Mi hijastro tenía pudín y lo suben a su bandeja y lo apilan en tu tazón. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante de cracking... hemos estado en el restaurante Covent Garden... todavía muy bueno, pero preferimos el soho.

Banging food wise as all blacklocks are but I'd recommend a different branch over this one, it's quite small and the service always feels rushed / intense.

Our steaks were cooked perfectly. The chips were amazing. The sweet potatoes were melt in your mouth. No room for cheesecake but will find that out once home. Lucy was amazing, impeccable service and attention and her recommendation of mixing 2 sauces really made the difference in the meal. Best meal and experience I've had in London so far.

Got reccomended to visit the soho one, in Great windmill st. Went along today ( 20/11/2024 for my birthday. We had the all in & it was just incredible ,from the 3 tasters each & then to the main chops & chunks of various meats sat on fresh ciabatta bread which then soaked up all the meat juices..4 sides & also wonderful crispy beef dripping chips ..cannot fault a single thing. We had dark rich chocolate sorbet & also a zingy raspberry sorbet to finish both simply divine. The staff were attentive & so truly wonderful. I popped to the loo & on returning my sorbets were sat on an happy birthday plate with a lit candle glimmering away ..A very simple but a most beautiful & generous touch. I will be back there again very soon ..

Really friendly service and great steak

It's an underground restaurant, so it looks unassuming from the entrance but you have to go through the inside door an down the stairs. The room isn't very large and filled up quickly after it opened at noon. Most people had reservations, but they tried to accomodate walk ins where possible. It did get quite noisy once the place was full, so not a place for intimate conversation. It was still packed when we left around 1.45pm. The service was magnificent. Massive thanks to our server who talked me through options that could cater to my particular dietary issues. We didn't get an official starter like mushrooms on toast. Instead we ordered the seasonal limited edition Christmas in a Bun and it was cut in half for us. For sides we got beef dripping chips and the broccoli salad with walnuts. Mains we got a sirloin and a prime rib. We got the garlic bone marrow to go with our dishes, which was outstanding. We were too full for dessert, but the white chocolate cheesecake looked like the one to pick. Or the other one that sounded nice was bread and butter pudding. The total for food and drinks (beers and a mocktail) came to £173.25 (including service ). Many people come for the Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding. I always have a great time at blacklock! First time since Covid and it’s still just as delicious. We went ‘all in’ and the chops were delicious - so flavourful and tender. Great sides too, despite being in a meat/chops restaurant, we loved the salads! I’ll always keep coming back, so so good.

Typical English pub, excellent beer, lunch on Sunday taking advantage of the typical roast, chosen with 3 different meats: pork, Wellington and chicken. Everything excellent and well cooked, helpful staff.

Wow,wow and wow we booked this place for Sunday dinner at 1pm and everything was excellent the friendly service of all the staff ,the food was amazing ,the atmosphere and ambience of the small room was great .We will definitely be back here when we are in town again

Blacklock Soho is an absolute gem. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Popped into Blacklock before a show, so was a little rushed to get in and out. But it worked out well, or almost did. The service was great, staff knowledgable and friendly. Had a fantastic boulevardier to drink. We ordered lamb, chips and a walnut salad. Great combination, chips had a great texture and flavour, crunch whilst fluffy on the inside. The lamb which rich in taste and perfectly cooked. What didn't work out? We didn't have time for dessert!! No cheesecake for us. Well you know what that means, I will just have to go back one day! And i'm looking forward to it!

Went for Sunday lunch and tried the shared roast. It was plenty and really tasty. I definitely recommend it although the beef was a little too rare for me so you may wish to consider this. The portions were plenty and the price was really good value. We had lashings of gravy as it kept being topped up and it was delicious. We also tried the cauliflower cheese which was just what I wanted, cheesy and crispy on top. Drinks were reasonable like most prices in London. Service was good. You absolutely need to book as many people were turned away.

A very warm and romantic dining environment and friendly staff. Booked a reservation on Monday night and it was still packed!!! However their most popular steak ran out🥲 but it’s okay cause the other ones are still yummy!!!

Reservations were not possible, which is actually very normal in a big city. When we entered, I gave my mobile number... and the waiter said, max 20 minutes and we will send you a message... 9 minutes later we could sit at the table. Handy system! The steaks were very tasty, and so were the crispy fries!! The waiter helped us a lot with translating/understanding the menu. The only downside was the noise in the shop...it wasn't really a romantic dinner...but otherwise highly recommended

My husband and I were very impressed with Blacklock! We found the restaurant by Googling “ Best steak in London”. The host, Phil, was able to work us in without a reservation after 20 or so minutes. He was super welcoming and we loved his sense of humor. For an appetizer we ordered the bread & gravy and “pigs head on toast” which sounded interesting but came highly recommended by our server. (It was pretty great). For entrées, we ordered the Burger and bone in sirloin with a side of chips & meat drippings. Our server, Lucy, was phenomenal! She was on point with all the food recommendations, had an infectious laugh and was instrumental in making my birthday special! We would recommend coming to the SoHo location whenever you are in London!

As veterans of the Shoreditch and City branches, we were keen to see whether Blacklock could maintain the standard in a third branch. It was fully booked on a Sunday lunch and walk-ins were being turned away. Service was friendly and pleasant throughout and the rump Sunday lunch was really nice, with great vegetables and plentiful tasty gravy, succulent Yorkshire pudding and generous beef. It would be a travesty to not have the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert which was as delicious as at the other branches. It’s impressive that Blacklock continue to maintain this standard in every branch!

London isn’t about just fish & chips! Blacklock is a must have to go. We loved the broccoli salad with the amazing steak, and the dessert is speechless. Cheers from Brasil!

I normally don't leave reviews but the service was awful. We got seated in the middle of the restaurant and got our drinks ordered as my friends have gone to the bathroom. After that, it took 15-20mins to be noticed that we haven't ordered yet. It was busy but not extremely busy to the point of needing to rush around. The waiters were focusing on the other customers and ignoring us. Some people who arrived after us got served first etc. Food was good, the meat was cooked perfectly other then the beef that was a bit over done but overall I give it a 4/5. Near the end, we asked for the bill in which the waitress said they will get the bill for us. 15mins later, still no bill. My friend was trying to get someone's attention and was ignored. We finally got our bill after 10mins and the waiter was just silent during the process. Not asking us if we want our receipt and just stormed away after we paid, lmao Overall the food was good but disappointed on the service. Macdonalds has better service then this 😭

What a great Sunday roast dinner with all the trimmings and a massive Yorkshire pudding!

Service was great, the restaurant is small but very busy. The food was less than average for what I was expecting, we both had the pigs on toast which was great. Then we shared the chops. The starter thing they give you on crackers is horrid. Husband had a hot bottle of lemonade with loads of ice. There was plenty of meat but honestly I've had better. The belly draft wasn't cooked well, we expect a crutch and the pork chop fat wasn't done. It was on par with a Witherspoon if I am honest. Portion of chips was poor. The gravy was lovely and I paid nearly a fiver for a bone with less than half a teaspoon of tasteless marrow. Wasn't worth the money if I am honest.

I'm glad I booked a table in advance, but even then, nothing was available for lunch or dinner, leaving us with an awkward in-between time. Even at that time, there was a queue of hopefuls outside hoping for walk-ins. It was no surprise to find downstairs bustling with a great atmosphere. While we were busy deciding what to eat, we forgot to look at the drinks so when our waitress came by I quickly chose the cherry cocktail which i didn't like due to the smoky mezcal. All of the cocktails we ordered were actually quite weak, but it didn't matter too much since our first order of skinny chops arrived. We were surprised to find the different meats piled on top of each other, which put our taste buds to test! We collectively preferred the t-bone, followed by the belly, cutlet, rib, and loin. The green sauce our waitress gave us was absolutely delicious, and the kale parmesan was surprisingly really good. For mains, my son and I had the prime rib, OH ordered the bone-in sirloin and LO had the sirloin. We added Blacklock gravy and our waitress recommended the chop sauce and garlic marrow, which she generously provided on the house. Her suggestions were absolutely blinding, and the beer chips were just beautiful. Blacklock is definitely the place for some meaty indulgence (skinny chops not so much) but the steaks were definitely amongst the best we've had.

Non essendo riusciti a prenotare online ci siamo presentati poco dopo le 19, e lasciando nome e numero di telefono ci hanno messo in lista per poi farci accomodare nel giro di una mezzoretta. In quattro abbiamo preso due menù ALL INCLUSIVE, una porzione di Denver, due contorni (una patata normale e una patata dolce), una cheesecake al cioccolato bianco (FANTASTICA, servita direttamente dalla pirofila) e 6 birre: totale 118,68 sterline. Carne ottima.

Great atmosphere, the attention to detail from the waiting staff was exemplary. All the staff worked so well together as a team and were super friendly. The mushroom starter was gorgeous . Really enjoyed the steaks and sides definitely worth a visit .

Fun friendly red meat-centric restaurant.

I was in mood for a simple steak and Chips. But my sirloin ended up been woefully undersized. It’s was about 8cm long and flat and probably weighed 130g max. The staff insisted the steak were approximately 200g. The chips and sauce seemed good but I was going to the black lock for the steak - and the total bill would have been £35 for steak, chips & gravy, I don’t mind paying this if the steak is reasonable size but this was pathetic to serve up such a tiny steak (130 grams max)to a fair paying customer. Avoid !!

Arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday night, and the wait was about an hour—right on target as the hostess estimated. Unfortunately, our server was not very helpful with menu recommendations or advising on portion sizes for sharing, and she was largely absent after taking our order until the end of the meal. Thankfully, other waitstaff were attentive and stepped in when needed. Steaks, sides, and cocktails were all solid, and the wine on tap offered good value.

Staff not great at appreciating my food allergies - it took a lot of explaining and adjustments to the food brought out. Starters - mini bites were not to my taste. Chops lovely but not overly hot and quite salty. Water glasses constantly filled. Not bad but not sure I would go back.

One of the best restaurants i have visit in London, if you want to taste a real steak , you have to reach this restaurant, the steak was amazing and the sides also, the staff is soo friendly , They will serve you as if you were in their home. We initially had a bad experience here with the 'all in' platter but we gave it a second chance and are so glad we did!! This time we went on a Monday night for their butchers cuts and had the most incredible porterhouse steak ever. It was so juicy, literally melting in the mouth. Also their chop house sauce was absolutely delicious, highly recommend you order it! Their beef dripping chips were also very good, and the service was excellent, as it had been the first time too. Just go for their cuts of steak rather than the all in platter!

I'll start off by saying - the food was AMAZING. Me and my partner got the All In, the bites and main food came so quickly (the bites even came before drinks that we ordered at the same time!) , it was so gorgeous and cooked perfectly, the chips are to die for!!! However, the trouble began when we finished the main course. It probably took around 10 minutes for our dishes to be cleared away. Okay fine, it's a Saturday, around 4pm, it happens. We eventually have it cleared away, and wait another 5 or so minutes to be asked if we want a dessert menu, yes okay we'd like to see. Waited another 5-10 minutes to be asked what we wanted, ordered the apple crumble (so good btw!!), and it takes maybe another 15 minutes for it to come out. We finish, and we have it taken away maybe 10 minutes after finishing, wasn't asked if we wanted the bill. We waited 30 MINUTES for the bill!! Couldn't get anyones attention, no one came over, but they were quick to take orders from people who just sat down!! Eventually we grab someone whose cleaning the table next to us (from a man clearly also frustrated at the waiting times and the fact it took 10 minutes and 2 waiters to get a dessert menu... he took the service charge off), we ask for the service charge taken off. They ask why, and we say as we've been waiting so long after finishing the main meal. We get the bill, it's wrong!! It was £138 when we maximum spent £70, no wonder we wanted to take the service charge off!!!!! They sorted the bill out and kindly took off the drinks and dessert so we only paid for the main, but it honestly left a sour taste in our mouths considering the price of the place and how highly rated the it is, it could be a really good experience with better staff. Also, way too cold in there!
