Blues Cafe in Swindon

One of the best cafés and a personal favourite of mine. Blues cafe is a traditional cafe that's homely and welcoming, the staff are friendly and the food is amazing, it's a fairly priced establishment and service never fails to deliver.

Blues is the only traditional café with have in Swindon. Go there often. Staff always really welcoming and friendly. They have their loyal customers who always come back most days. Can't beat the service.

I only visit Blues 2-3 times a year and it is always fantastic , had breakfast there today and again it was perfect , I had a " mega" breakfast with an extra egg and an order of black pudding and it was amazing 👏 😋😋. Service was great , very good staff and service was quick . Would highly recommend to anyone .

Yea, go go you lovely little cafe in the heart of town. Where locals meet for nice nosh to eat. Trad cafe English breakfasts very good value, served quick and hot. No GF options but I'm not too strict, and had scrambled eggs and hash browns, instead of toast. Quieter upstairs, away from the lively atmosphere downstairs, it is also lovely to sit outside under the canopy, and watch life go by.

Food was very good, as well as the service. Staff were friendly and polite.

You get a good value for money.

We came to Swindon to visit our son and grandkids who have just returned to the UK from Canada as he is in the armed forces and now based in circencester. On parking up on Easter Saturday around 9am, me and my wife were hungry, so asked a local where there was a good cafe that did a good breakfast. He soon directed us to Blues. Seating inside and upstairs and also upstairs. The cafe is very clean and all staff very pleasant and polite. The staff also look as if they enjoy their work. We ordered 2 x small breakfasts and drinks. The breakfasts were of excellent value at just over £6. The premises have customer toilets but they are upstairs. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

Great staff and environment but food quality is poor, it’s great for the atmosphere and coffee but not for quality food, cheaper in Sir Daniels

Another go to place for breakfast better then next door, but you have to be picky to choose, only difference is this ones always busier so guess the locals know best

Lovely British café serving huge choice of home cooked hearty meals. Always friendly and never usually a problem getting a table on busy Saturday lunchtimes.

Great food and a very warm vibe. We went in for breakfast and had a vegeterian breakfast. Had a good chat with Manjit who made sure we were taken care of well and the staff were super friendly too. Will def go back.

Had two of the most delicious meals eating out in a long time. With the weather hammering down dark and miserable out side, pushing my elderly mother in a wheel chair, we opened the doors to cosy, welcoming surroundings and the warm encomassing smile of the waitress who was absolutely delightful. Thank you my mother thoroughly enjoyed it.

The food was bad and expensive, the fish was stale and the service was bad. We were given three sets of knives and forks for four people. The total cost was over thirty pounds, but more than half was wasted，never again!

I popped in for a quick breakfast whilst staying in Swindon. The service was great and the menu caters for all tastes ranging from egg on toast through to a mega size full English. The tea or coffee are served promptly and my breakfast arrived soon afterwards. The service is friendly and cheerful and the prices are great. A really good places for a tasty breakfast.

This place is really nice I can access it in my wheelchair and although there is not masses of room for me to get around as soon as I go through the door staff are there moving chairs for me they do make me feel welcome and not like I'm in the way! The food is good prices reasonable just wat you need wen Xmas shopping

Unfortunately the person before me had had an accident on the seat which soaked through and I ended up having to quickly eat my breakfast so that I could go home to change. Spoilt day out but these things happen. My friend paid for my meal but I think we got our tea free.

Waited 15 minutes and didn't get approached, 2 waitresses walked past too. Shockingly bad service

Absolutely lovely fried breakfast, great price point, very friendly staff. Overall atmosphere is very homely and relaxed, would definitely recommend if you’re craving a fry up and attentive customer service.

Worst breakfast in my life, overcooked fat and no hash browns just burnt bread

Awful experience. The food was floating in oil, hash browns were not hash browns but bread fried in butter, sausages were disastrous, felt like there was no meat at all, tomatoes were from a can. Strongly do not recommend. If I could rate it with zero stars, would definitely do it.

Really friendly cafe, service with a smile, well cooked food, and rapid service. Couldn't ask for more, and it was reasonably priced. I had a cooked breakfast, and went totally off menu, which didn't phase her at all. Brilliant, I will be going again!

Really lovely staff and food served hot and quick. Quite tasty, but the plate was absolutely swimming in grease. It would take 10-15 seconds to rest the meats on a j-cloth to absorb the fat, then you’d get 5*

I have been going to this cafe for years. Great little cafe the owner and staff are helpful very friendly and give a good service. They do not except cards only cash.

The sausages wasnt cooked when I mentioned it they was more than happy to cook me more but the sausages was then overcooked like they was making a statement

Fancied a full English breakfast whilst in Swindon, and came across the Blue Cafe, the staff are pleasant and welcoming, the menu has lots to choose from, went for the Mega Breakfast, why I ate it I can’t think why, well I ate some of it, no quality here at all, bacon dry as a bone, and probably cooked some time before, sausages had no flavour, tomatoes straight out the can, and boiled to an inch of their life, fried bread was ok, beans watery, more like Manky Breakfast. Tea was good however, why this place gets a good rating I can’t imagine. It’s difficult to provide a good meal if you use cheap products, and this is the main reason you end up with poor quality food, and they charge the going rate for a cafe. In fact same price as an excellent breakfast in Piccadilly. A V O I D

Always make a point of coming in even if it's just for a coffee...a little gem on the edge of the town centre. Welcoming and friendly.

Me and wife popped in today for breakfast after we heard good things and we were pleasantly surprised how decent the fry up was. Mega breakfast at £7 was really good value as was my wife’s scrambled egg on toast. Only negative was the orange juice you get with the mega is not nice at all. Staff really friendly and we’re excellent.

I visited this cafe in Swindon Town centre on Saturday 23rd October 2021 What a belting cafe served humongous sized breakfast for the big appetite brigade!! Seved good food has good staff and the place is a tidy clean decor to eat good food

Great place to eat or just to have a drink

Been going to Blues for years until we moved away a couple of years ago. It was a pleasure to treat my son to breakfast! Food was excellent and service was swift. Full marks and highly recommended!

Having ventured out into town on the last saturday before freedom day we came here for breakfast. Excellent breakfast choice as ususal and service was as good as ever with all staff taking COVID precautions. Its just a shame that our town cente is such an uninspiring dump these days with very little in the way of shopping experiences, otherwise this would be a weekly event for us at this great little cafe

Very strange place, if you're not a regular then don't bother. A bit like 'cheers' but without alcohol, just alcoholics loitering in 'their chairs'.

Ok so I was told about this place from a family member and thought I'd give it a try. On arrival all was OK. It wasn't my usual kind of place to visit so I wasn't expecting much. Service was good and food arrived fast. OK so the coffee wasn't an Americano and tasted ok. The latte also tasted funny and not up to our standard. We are used to Costa and Boswells and other franchised coffee shops. The toast was dripping with butter which was sickly , the sausages were budget and tasted as such. Beans were OK and also the mushrooms ,bacon and eggs . No music so was rather boring. Probably won't return. But this is a place for the locals who don't mind cheap food. Some people prefer that. I dont

Excellent food and quick efficient service as always.

They follow all the Covid protocols. The food was hot and well cooked. I had a really nice meal, which means they are keeping to usual standards.

Fancied a fry up so this seemed the right place. Firstly they got our order wrong (asked for no eggs, but got eggs) and we had to ask for our drinks twice. The servers wore masks, but the person serving us told us he hated wearing it and had it over his chin the whole time. When the place started getting busy they sat people at tables that were labelled ‘not for use’. The place is small so it got very cramped quickly, no social distancing! In the current circumstances we did not feel comfortable and would not go back. Food was ok, as expected for a greasy spoon.

This is about as greasy spoon as you like. Way way over rated here. I wouldn’t go back for sure. The staff were amazing but the food was pretty bad.

Friendly and allround pleasant atmosphere

As a great fan of "The Full English" the Blues cafe is one of my top "go to" places for breakfast (again and again!-)... Added to tip top service what more could you want to start the day!
