The food is AMAZING! we had the potato pancakes with sauerkraut as a starter and the beef goulash and pork schnitzel as our mains and they were all excellent. The only reason this is a 4 star versus 5 star review is the service was lacking. Yes, we’re Americans and recognize that Europeans tend to want to linger over meals longer than we are used to but we’ve been in Europe for 2 weeks and are quite used to this. In this case, there was only 1 other table to serve and they (not Americans) got up to go order a second round of drinks because our servers were not around to ask. We were considering another round of drinks or coffee and dessert but we decided not to wait and went to the front and paid. The food will not disappoint!

I have visited the place several times, but I didn't like the last visit at all. There were 10 of us and I booked in advance. After reading the menu and starting to order, we were informed that the beers and dishes we came for are missing. I was very disappointed.

Our first visit to this restaurant, some six years ago, was great. Two years later we returned and thought that it had slipped. Gave it another try in 2024 and were glad we did. Service was good, the food was excellent, and prices were reasonable; overall, a very good experience. Their pork schnitzel, Slovak halusky, and roast pork were all excellent, as was the Slovak wine and Czech beer. We hope to return soon.

72 Chalk Farm RoadHadn't been to a Belgo in a good few years so when shopping in Camden I thought I would go in there with my girlfriend who has never been in one.Sadly it is closed down.The premises were derelict and there was a sign outside saying 'To Let'.No mention of it been closed on the Belgo website.I assume they want to keep it as quiet as possible.

136 Regents Park RoadAbsolutely shockingly bad service at 7.30am this morning at Ripe. I approached the cafe when the door was open at 7.05 am and asked if they were open and if they served gluten free bread to which I was told they open at 7.30 and yes- gluten free available. So I went back to my car and waited for 25 minutes until they opened. When I went back in and asked for a gluten free bacon sandwich the initial lady I had spoke to was trying to accommodate my order but as the bacon was usually served with a baguette she was struggling to put the order into the till or know what to charge me. She asked for help and was met with rudeness and unhelpfulness from her colleague who told her that gluten free was a sandwich and they weren’t served until after 11… had she checked with the kitchen that they had gluten free… and would they serve before 11…. This was then agreed they did have, but I couldn’t have a gluten free baguette I could have plain bread and I would have to pay an additional £1.50 for the privilege of having gluten free bread- rather than a big chunk of baguette????? I could understand if it was a gluten free sandwich vs a sliced bread sandwich as gluten free bread is more expensive… but not as a substitute for a baguette. The lady who was shouting about the £1.50 extra never gave me any eye contact or spoke to me directly. She was extremely rude and unfriendly. I asked how much the bacon sandwich would cost me and was told £9.50. There was a large queue behind me by this point due to the back and forth about the said gluten free bread….. there was a small gasp from several members of the queue and a comment “that’s totally ridiculous “ and a supportive nod in my direction as I said “no thank you” and left… hungry
