Bombay Rasoi in Barnsley

Bombay Rasoi is our usual takeaway treat on a sunday night but we decided to fetch it forward to saturday as me and my partner was craving our usual curry. We ordered a chicken madras, chips garlic nan bread, Chick shash lick with green salad. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for this to arrive when we unpacked our food we found it cold and missing items. I called the restaurant to explain and they said they will send the full order back out. 20 minutes later the door went only to receive a garlic nan bread and chick shash lick. Baring in mind you can not re-warm rice due to bacteria. I called the restaurant again to explain i then got called a lair and they refused to send the full order back out. I then asked for a refund which i have not received. Will not be ordering again terrible service and rude employee. May i also add we order every week so they have lost a loyal customer. We often eat inside but this a no go anymore.

Ranks as the only restaurant in my 35 years Indian dining experience which has turned away a table for two. Their loss was the Turkish restaurant across the road’s gain. We had a lovely meze there and warm hospitality.

Yesterday I went to this place and normally when we go to the restaurant the manager always comes and talks to us since we are normal buyers. But yesterday was different. Instead there was a rude guy who first of all dropped the food on my sister in law which is ok we can forget but didn’t even say sorry. So I told them be careful next time and he started being rude and went to his manager and was pointing at us and talking about us which was very obvious . He then shouts at my wife for apparently being ‘judgy’. I will never go back there again under any circumstances of the behaviour and giving attitude to my children as well .

The service was terrible, the popadoms came and we’re like rubber the starters were cold and tasteless.Nobody came to ask if we wanted another drink, the main meal was not bad but nothing to shout about..and there was a young boy serving wearing a tracksuit and everyone else in own clothing not a uniform in sight.The lady at the desk on arrival was shouting at a young girl who was serving in front of customers.Will not return

Visited here on a Sunday evening a few weeks back. Food was delicious! We had starters of onion bahji and mushroom pakoras, then mains of chicken byriani and chicken bhuna! Highly recommended! We will visit again!

Called in last night for a meal will not be going back I ordered butter chicken & it was like rice pudding with chicken absolutely disgusting... Tescos shop bought butter chicken is 💯 % better than the one served last night shocking to say it claim s to be an Indian restaurant! Tescos 10/10 Bombay Rasoi 0/10 💩 🤢🤮

I was under impression that my curry was king prawns as that’s what was in the description so I chose the fish option and there is no prawns in this curry at all. The description did not mention normal white fish so I didn’t expect it. Not happy

They manager women was so funny as I had such a wonderful meal with just 40 pounds and the decoration with the tree was so beautiful

It was just over 30 minutes late from stated delivery time and food wasn’t hot it was warm. Quite salty and the tikka masala wasn’t full of flavour, quite bland.

2nd time ordering & again very nice food, hot & flavoursome. Will continue to order from here

Tried this for first time absolutely, lush, will go and get takeaway again or even eat inn, and not expensive either. Will go here again and try diffrent food excellent location.

The order arrived later than stated in this app. Apparently an issue with the driver but said would make fresh & send another driver out. Food was good & would probably order from here again.

really impressed. was a recommendation from a friend. was only 5 minutes late and delivered with an apology. food quality was great and very tasty. definitely will order again.

Very good paneer, but unfortunately the food is very flavorless

My initial impression wasn’t great as the poppadoms weren’t cooked properly. However, the curry was beautiful, perfectly spiced and the keema rice, wow, that is amazing and very reasonably priced - I could just have that on its own with a bit of a curry sauce!

I tried it once and went back again and the food was belting. I had the Sheekh kebab starter followed by a Naga Chilli lamb garlic Balti with rice and garlic bread - top notch, I'll be back!

1st time I ordered from here since the 90's the food arrived well packaged on time and hot and the delivery driver was polite clean and friendly but the food wasn't to my liking the price was good with 12.5% off but the food was average at best in my view.

Really impressed, definitely worth the money. Curry was really tasty, naan with lots of garlic,nice and soft. Green salad for 1.50£ is a big portion, only thing I wouldn’t have in it would be peas but that’s just me, would recommend this place !:)

Amazing as always, food is fantastic, always delivered before just eat states. They always throw me in a small freebie, this time it was a full pilau rice. Stuff like this makes me keep coming back, as both the food and generosity of the staff is top notch. Thanks again!!!

When we arrived at this restaurant we were unimpressed with the grubby set of stairs from the street outside to the restaurant door on the first floor. We were seated on a table near the bar and toilets which didn't improve our expectations. However after given advice about our choice of food and tasting our starters and main courses our concerns disappeared. The food here is delicious. Yes the place needs a makeover or at least a few tins of paint, but overall, the quality of food and good service, won us over.

Shahi biryani was lovely could cut the lamb with a spoon. Tandoori King prawns amazing as usual.

Delicious food as always, frequent visitors to the restaurant but first time ordering to home, highly recommend.

Perfect, food was lovely. I was waiting no more than 5 minutes and the gent who served me gave me free poppadoms and pickle tray for waiting. Great service, I will be back

Cannot recommend this take away enough, always excellent service? They have never got an order wrong and the quality of food is amazing! We made a large order yesterday evening and came within the suggested time, I asked via the online order for complimentary poppodoms and onion bhagis which they duly supplied with it being a large order! They also deliver for a small charge and you get 10% off if you order online! Fantastic Indian, best in Barnsley! 👍

Food was nice and delivered on time. just a shame just the same as all other Indians. They always forget to put something in. you orders poppadoms and pickle tray. No pickle tray. delivered. You order starters, no mint sauce delivered. spoils your meal

Food was delicious, hot fresh food, chicken tikka and lamb tikka starters were amazing. Ordered chicken korma and tikka masala which were both gorgeous, onion bhajis were crisp and perfect. Garlic knaan was brilliant, even gave us free poppadoms and dipping trays which was very kind and very well enjoyed :) My go to Indian, food is always amazing, fresh and cooked to perfection, Thankyou <3

No poppadoms in order, rang shop and were happy to refund, but meant I had no use for the dips so refund requested for those. Jalfrezi was poor, but the bhuna was good. Doubt I’ll use this place again.

A very good Indian with attentive service and a great selection of food from starters to mains to sides which was expertly cooked. Very reasonable prices and the quality of the food was excellent. Clean toilets and a lovely restaurant. A special mention for the serving staff they were really knowledgeable, not over attentive and were really good made for a really enjoyable evening.

We absolutely love the food from here. Only had a meal once in the restaurant but had takeaways a few times and have to say, they never fail. I wanted it hot and wow did I get it hot. Absolutely beautiful food, superb delivery amd unlike lots of other takeaway deliveries, the food is always hot and the naan is always fresh and not soggy. The Phall was amazing. THANK YOU GUYS.

I wrote notes to say top of street delivery driver phoned said 2 mins away 10 mins later no show phoned again she on wrong street then finally shows up food cold

They delivered to wrong address and because I rang and complained purely about delivery, they refuse to deliver again. However they take the payment from yr card that takes a week to get back

I did not think that the excellent food and service from Bombay Rasoi could get any better, seems i was wrong this was absolutely superb, probably the best curry i have tasted.

Called in by chance Saturday night for a quick curry and ended up staying ages! We met Lyra the owner who was so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us, absolutely brilliant food and service will definitely be back!

Really lovely food, we ordered a takeaway and were not disappointed. The pathia was delicious, the fresh vegetables in the sauce really brought it to life and the saag paneer was delicious. We will definitely order from here again when we fancy a curry!

Although the quality of the food was OK, there was a distinct lack of chicken, but lots of sauce So wasn't very good value for money.

Had a korma and a madras. Good taste, a lot of sauce, which was a bit watery, plenty of rice and peshwari naan was nice Not a lot of chicken in either dish and pieces were on the small side. Enjoyed both dishes.

Fab I Lous food. Ate early so very quiet. Good service. Overall very good.

It was great for a while but the last few times have been progressively worse. This time everything was just poor - curry was spicy but had very little flavour, chips were greasy and seemed old, and the poppadoms were stale and soggy. I think that's probably the last time we order.

Tried for the first time as our usual was closed. Onion bhajis were over cooked and hard and the butter chicken was a bit bland. Everything else was great - rice cooked to perfection and very tasty and fluffy naans!

We order from here and have for years. It arrives on time (not early) if you ask for a specific time which I really appreciate. It is delicious, hot and freshly prepared every time. I would never order from anywhere else if this place was open.
