We had a lovely meal at Bouvardia. A great fine dining menu with amazing options to explore new and unique flavours. The service was extremely friendly and super quick. For starters we tried the salmon tartare and beef brisket & smoked mozzarella ravioli. Mains we had the pork tenderloin and pan friend monkfish. All of the dishes were extremely fresh, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into each component of every dish. Would recommend giving it a try and if you’re visiting Bath, you can also stay in their hotel!

We visited here on Saturday evening, the restaurant itself is beautiful, perfect for a special occasion as it’s fine dining. The food was absolutely amazing, we went for the hazelnut crusted venison and the pork tenderloin, both were delicious and cooked perfectly, for sides we had potato dauphinoise, carrots & greens which were really tasty, for dessert we had the chocolate fondant which was warm and gooey 😋 I loved how the menu wasn’t too big but still had a good selection, the staff were so friendly and attentive. 10/10 experience can’t wait to come back.

We had a wonderful dinner last night! The food was overall delicious, with a few standout dishes. The whipped goat cheese starter with white chocolate sugar crumb was so creative definitely a highlight. Also, the honey butter with bread was divine! The ravioli starter was decent but not something we’d rush back for. For mains, I had the chicken supreme. The chicken itself was juicy and perfectly cooked, but the accompaniments on the plate felt a little mismatched. My partner had the pork, which she enjoyed and said was cooked perfectly. The black pudding was a nice touch too; however, she found the red wine just a bit overpowering. For sides, we got the maple carrots and parsnips which were amazing!!! Really nice. We also got the winter greens. The kale was out of this world!! Desserts stole the show! Both the chocolate fondant cake and honey tuile were incredible. So yummy!! The interior of the restaurant is classy, though slightly old-fashioned. The staff were kind and attentive, which added to the experience. However, the atmosphere felt a little flat at times… maybe it would feel more vibrant with more diners. Overall, it’s a spot with great potential, and we’d recommend it to someone looking for a fine dining experience in a relaxed environment right outside the city centre of Bath. The hotel also looks lovely and would be a great place to stay if looking to explore the area around Bath for a weekend!

We throughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. Every dish we choose had clearly been well thought through and the flavours complimented each other so well. I must highlight the poached pear dessert as the rum sauce with caramelised cinnamon cake, poached pear and cinnamon ice cream was a heavenly combination. Even the ‘simple’ bread and butter was delightful - the sweetness of the honey butter went so well on the organic stone baked sourdough bread and was a nice change to the classic marmite butter and sourdough pairing. Another notable feature of the food was how incredibly fresh it was - especially the salmon. As well as mastering the flavours, the dishes were cooked to perfection. My venison was cooked pink exactly to my liking and the octopus was the best cooking of octopus I’ve ever had. Food aside the service was wonderful and the staff were all so friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend a visit to Bouvardia and I will certainly be looking to return in the future.

My favorite restaurant in Bath! I’ve been several times, always trying new dishes, and it’s consistently amazing. From meat and fish to vegetarian options, desserts, and even breakfast—there’s never a miss! Everything is freshly prepared, including their special bread (I only wish they had a bakery on-site for customers!). The staff is always attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance of elegance and coziness. I’ll definitely be back again!

Nice place for our anniversary dinner. Food is high quality. Service is professional yet still friendly. Prices are reasonable, we paid around £60 each for 3 courses with side dishes as well.

We had the most amazing meal here. We had 3 courses and each one was excellent. The flavours were amazing, portion sizes were good and there were lots of options. The staff were super attentive and polite and made us feel really welcome. We would definitely return to visit the restaurant and would look at staying at the hotel when visiting Bath again. I had a stunning meal at the Bouvardia restaurant in Bath. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxing and the decor was very light and elegant. The menu had a selection of seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, each dish beautifully presented and bursting with lots of flavour. I recommend the Chicken Supreme and Chocolate Pudding - each were cooked to perfection. The wine selection was also fantastic and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and attentive - all in all a flawless meal and would definitely go back. If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate an occasion like an anniversary then this is the spot in Bath to go to !

Had an amazing dinner here recently. The quality of each dish was very high, and the menu was interesting, full of flavours and pairings you might not have tried before. I think the standout for me was the dessert, the cinnamon ice cream was excellent! The service was also really great, super attentive. We ate quite early so it was probably quieter than usual but overall the atmosphere was really comfortable and added to the fine dining experience. Bread and honey butter – the honey butter was like nothing we had tried before; we loved it! It was so delicious on the sourdough. Starters – my salmon tartare had gorgeous chunks of salmon, with pickled cucumber and a fun sesame cracker on top, this was my kind of starter, very refreshing. My boyfriend had the beef brisket ravioli in a rich tomatoey sauce, he said the brisket was phenomenal. Mains – my venison was incredible, juicy and perfectly cooked, the jus was rich and complimented it so well. My boyfriend had the pork tenderloin, it melted in your mouth and paired well with the black pudding and apple coulis. Sides – we shared sides of truffle and parmesan fries, and buttery winter greens. The fries had the perfect amount of truffle and went well with the jus from our mains. The buttery winter veg was very delicious. Dessert – I had the honey tuille which was presented very beautifully. The foam yoghurt inside was tasty and the crunchy praline was lovely. My boyfriend had the chocolate fondant, they very kindly swapped his ice cream from cherry to chocolate. The fondant was gooey and full of melted chocolate, he really enjoyed his. Bouvardia Restaurant was a real pleasure to dine at. So much so, this hasn’t been our first visit, and definitely won’t be our last! Easily located just outside of the city centre with ample on site parking. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect, with some gentle background music and a comfortable environment. Service was high class and on point. Incredible friendly staff who were helpful in giving some drink ideas and making sure our visit was the best it could be. The food was next level! Starter, main and desert were all incredible and I didn’t want the dishes to end. Each bite was full of flavour, perfectly cooked and presented. It felt like a Michelin star restaurant! Lots of options for my partner too who doesn’t eat meat. I would highly recommend Bouvardia to anyone visiting bath, especially if you enjoy fine dining and beautiful locations. 5 stars *****.

Have visited a few times now and we always have a wonderful fine dining experience. A beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The food and the service are always fantastic. I especially enjoy the home made bread and butter served before your main meal. There is an honesty bar in the lounge area, which is nice for a drink before or after. It's a great location too, probably one of the best restaurants in Bath! Also free parking, with loads of space. We have always got a space despite not being guests at the hotel. Overall would highly recommend!

A beautifully decorated restaurant with a relaxed luxurious vibe. Was really nice at sundown and during golden hour. Food was fantastic and ticked all the boxes for taste, flavour, quality and presentation. The restaurant is well suited for date nights or special occasions, or just a very good tasty meal. We had all 3 courses plus homemade breads with delicious flavoured butter. The attention to detail and freshness of the dishes was impressive. The service is skilful and professional, everything feels well managed and nothing was too much trouble. Prices are very reasonable, and not up at the usual high fine dining level. Parking is free all around the location and there is even some on-site parking too. There is a lounge and bar area for pre-drinks or something after. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone in the Bath area or beyond.

The best fine dining in Bath! We visited Bouvardia on Saturday night and we were not disappointed! As soon as we walked through the door we were amazed at the incredible decor and atmosphere. The whole place was stunning from the bar area to the dining room. We were greeted on arrival and taken straight to our table. First off, we were given bread for the table accompanied with a smoked butter. The bread was warm, soft, and absolutely delicious! On to our starters, we ordered the smoked duck breast and the beef brisket and smoked mozzarella ravioli, both dishes were perfection! The flavour combinations of the duck with a blue cheese creme and blackberries were fantastic and the ravioli was cooked beautifully. On to the star of the show, for our mains we had the hazelnut crusted Venison. This was by far the best Venison we have EVER had, cooked to perfection and just an explosion on flavours, accompanied by a beetroot cream and a Venison jus, everything on this plate was exquisite. We also had 2 sides of crushed garlic potatoes and Truffle Parmesan Fries, both were incredible. Our final course we had a chocolate fondant. The chocolate was rich and melted in the middle, the black cherry ice-cream was sublime. Overall, this was by far one of the best meals out we have had in Bath! The staff were absolutely wonderful, so attentive and welcoming, you have such a great team here. The food is just outstanding- extremely high quality, impeccable presentation and so tasty! We were so excited to try Bouvardia restaurant at Bathen House Hotel in Bath and we weren't disappointed. On arrival, we found it easy to park in the street across from the hotel. When we arrived into the building we were greeted and our coats were taken. We then moved into the small but charming dining room with views out to the garden fountains. To start we had their homemade bread which were served with smoked butter, one of the breads was a honey and oat wholemeal which was sweet but worked perfectly with the salty butter and the other was a garlic and fennel focaccia which I wasn't sure about as I dont usually like fennel but it was very subtle. For the first course I had the goats cheese mousse which was served with a white chocolate crumb - Ive never had white chocolate and goats cheese together but was surprised by how well it worked! My partner had the beef brisket and smoked mozarella ravioli and said the brisket was very tender and worked well with the crunchy onion ring and light sauce. For my main I had the mushroom wellington which was the only veggie option but was absolutely delicious served with a tangy mushroom ketchup. My partner had the hazelnut crusted venison which was perfectly cooked and the presentation was lovely. We shared buttery seasonal greens and parmesan truffle fries which were both seasoned really well. After yummy starters and mains we had to try dessert so ordered the chocolate fondant which was gooey and rich but not overly sweet. We also got the poached pear served with cinnamon ice cream which was a lovely winter warmer. Overall I'd say that Bouvardia is perfect for a special occasion or a date night and I look forward to my next visit as service was exceptional throughout.

Having lived in and around Bath most of my life and recently moved away we needed to come back to Bath for an event. We found the Bathen House on line and booked a room also booking Sunday lunch in the restaurant. The food was faultless, melt in the mouth beef and the chicken very tender, we had 3 courses of wonderful food and would highly recommend the restaurant. The hotel’s location is just a few minutes drive from the centre of town. The bed was very comfortable and being an ex hoteliers we are super fussy about details and could nor find a single fault, it’s the small things that make the difference like having an electric point near a mirror for the hairdryer, this is something that many hotels fall down on. I would highly recommend Bathen House and the Bouvardia Restaurant and we will definitely be staying here again on any return visits to Bath.

I would recommend for you to have the hearty ❤️ Full English Breakfast with one of the best bacon and sausages I have had. The service was amazing 👏. Though the restaurant for dinner only has limited menu as it's a one of its kind. Must visit once for the experience.

Absolutely unique place with unique food. I can't decide if it's a bad thing or a good thing that it's a bit hidden, because on the one hand it makes it a bit more unique but on the other hand it's a shame to hide something so fantastic.

My granddaughter and I stayed Tuesday night. We were served by Kate who went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after in every way. The food was exceptional, I am surprised they do not have a Michelin star. I would strongly recommend eating here.

The service was excellent. All the staff have been very accomodative in serving us things not on menu. We still have our jetlag and didnt finish some of the food. They were so kind to offer to change something else for us when they didnt need to. Absolutely the best service we had in England

To be honest, the gap between food performance and high ratings is huge. Desserts are especially average.

Starters and main really nice, dessert unfortunately quite average. Service was okay. No atmosphere however we were the only people in the restaurant. The downer was receiving the bill and having £20+ tax added on as well as the service charge. Would have been more reasonable if it wasn't for these.

The most delicious menu. We savoured every bite. The pork tenderloin was exceptional. Lovely setting and great waiter. Would highly recommend and looks a fine hotel too.

We were very disappointed in our dinner and differ from other reviewers’ comments. Both of our entrées (steak and trout) were rather bland and lacking in basic seasoning. Even the accompanying sides all sort of melded together and were one note and not remarkable at all. The steak in particular was asked for medium rare and came back well done. Since we were staying at the hotel, we had our breakfasts there and these were in fact wonderful compared to our dinner. Service was very nice though.

What a lovely venue it is. A bit far from the town centre, however is not hard to get there. Is actually worth it price and to sit in such beautiful bright surroundings. What impressed us was that, Chef Greg came over to serve us the desserts. Kasia is also a fantastic, knowledgeable and smiling person. Thank you very much! Found this little gem on the internet and menu looked delicious. It is just outside of Bath city centre and has plenty of parking. It is housed within Bathen House hotel. On arrival a very polite and helpful lady showed us to our table and presented the menus. Drinks and food were served promptly and with the same professionalism that I have observed in Michelin starred establishments. The food was more delicious than it sounded on the menu. My wife commented that it was the best food she has had for quite some time. When the bill was presented, I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was. Will definitely be back again soon. A fine dining experience in Bath for a family dinner to celebrate my wife's 70th Birthday. We were warmly welcomed by Jeremy our host, which set the tone for the evening. We had selected a set 3-course dinner for just under £50 per head. What struck us on entering the restaurant was the intimacy and ambience. There are only about 6 tables available, which almost makes it feel like private dining. And the attentative service adds to that impression. As for the food itself it was akin to fine French cuisine in a British setting, it could not be faulted. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate an occasion over dinner at reasonable cost.

We had a lovely fine dining experience here. We were staying at the hotel which made having dinner here very convenient but I’m glad we tried it because food and service were delicious. Limited menu but we both were happy with the choices. Quality of the food was superb and staff were very warm and attentive. It’s a small restaurant inside a boutique hotel but it was a lovely ambience perfect for a couple or romantic meal.

My husband and I went. Little drive of 10 mins out of Bath. Well worth it. Amazing team and beautiful 6 course meal. Special place and would recommend as very different from usual dining.

This place is a hidden gem! 8/10 tables in a small hotel in Bath. The service WAS immaculate, BUT the food is another level! Seriously cannot fault it, young chef at the helm he has got a glittering career ahead of him. Super talented, flavors where perfect the combination of ingredients and the presention stunning, perfect amounts served with each dish, 6 servings or a taster meal. Perfectly executed. BRILLIANT. Hotels is very lucky to have such a talented chef running that kitchen and serving dishes in the restaurant "Bouvardia" Well done, truly exceptional what a wonderful surprise, and it was my birthday. Exceptional food. Couldn't find one fault to the food. The staff were attentive and if we asked for anything it was sorted. It was quiet but a romantic vibe. We went here for a birthday meal and would highly recommend.

An absolutely brilliant experience here. The food was delicious and the service was excellent; our waitress was helpful and very attentive all night. I am vegetarian so although there was only one option for each course that I could have, they were so delicious nonetheless. I highly recommend the chocolate fondant dessert and my boyfriend really enjoyed the venison main course. Even the warm homemade bread and butter was top notch. Our table was booked at 7pm on a Saturday evening and it was just us for the first 15 minutes or so, whereas at about 8pm onwards a few more tables arrived, so I would suggest booking later if you prefer slightly more ambiance. This is not a busy, atmospheric restaurant by any means, so if you are looking for that, this will no fulfil it. Having said that, we enjoyed our evening so much we stayed at the restaurant for over three and a half hours just drinking and chatting. I highly recommend the food and service here.

My husband and I had a delicious Sunday lunch here today. The service was excellent and the dining room is spacious and beautifully decorated. There was a good selection of starters and mains. Absolutely loved this place. It's perfect for couples and small family gatherings as the restaurant is small but cosy. There is an eatery for every occasion and, in my opinion, Bouvardia is for romance. We arrived for a pre dinner drink in the lounge where our order was taken and then led to our table at the time of our booking. Tasty homemade bread with 2 butters, mustard or sesame. With a pre starter of butternut, orange and ginger amuse. For starters we had the smoked pigeon and the salt baked beetroot. Both set the tone for the main courses of treacle cured venison and turbot. To set us up for the dessert and to cleanse the palate, we were served a raspberry and champagne granita. I couldn't resist the sticky toffee pudding with a butterscotch sauce and my wife had the vegan panna cotta. The staff are extremely pleasant and attentive. The service was excellent and unobtrusive. The food was delicious, nicely seasoned and artistically presented. For the right occasion, this restaurant is worth another visit.

Amazing food, worth a visit… Went for dinner, I cannot fault the food. We had such a lovely time. We had pigeon to start, it was cooked to perfection. Then we had the venison, the flovours were amazing but the little mushrooms were awesome. Had to have the sticky toffee pudding g for dessert. It’s probably one of the best I’ve had. Ever and it’s my favourite dessert.
