Braes in Dundee City

We booked for the boozy brunch for a surprise for my mum’s birthday. There was 15 of us and the service was absolutely spot on. Especially - Ben - big shout out to Ben who could not do enough for us. Great deal at £33 for lunch and 6 drinks (on a Saturday).

Had an appt at the uni so booked a table for dinner... Had to wait a while just to get to bar to find out seat... Food was great and quick to arrive But loud, noisy, too crowded, terrible TV viewing with contradicting music... No brilliant but it was fine, served a purpose... Not sure I would recommend to anyone in my age bracket! 🙄

It’s a usual lunch place for me and my friends as we get some student discount and the food is decent but one of the waiters is just so unfriendly and rude every time we come as if we are not welcome there, really unprofessional and appalling behavior.

Wonderful vegan menu - blue cheeze and mushroom arancini and the "elfishly good" burger with a double stack of beef and chicken alt patties. Server Sophie was very attendant and keen to see how I found it, being the first person to try these items, and was as pleased as I was that they went down well. To top it off, a hearty starter and main plus a pint of cider all came in at under £25. I'd recommend both the food and the venue overall to anyone, vegan or otherwise!

A bright, busy and modern bar. Not at all bad, just not for me. Sports on screen, but not in an intrusive way.

We came the other day for a quick stop in, after a bad day, and Olivia was so friendly and helpful it really turned out day around. Her quick wit really had us on our toes and we loved it! Don't lose her, she's the best you'll get

Avoid the ‘loaded’ fries. Absolute joke. The only thing the half portion of fries was loaded with was sauce. Next to no meat, plenty overpowering sweet bbq sauce and a smattering of cheese and rocket. Supposedly enough to feed 2. What a laugh.

Haven't been here in years. Went for the boozy brunch with friends. Food was fab had a fab time but what really made it was a servier Lottie so much craic and informative of the menu and allergies. And made us laugh and have the best time. Def come again. Usually go to a different brunch on a Sunday, decided to go go here to try. Lotties craic means this is our local now so fun xxxx

Took my brother out for something to eat. Remembered Braes as being good for service and food... Not this time! The waitress/bar person sat with her friends. I had to draw her attention to get service. The Nachos had been good before. Not this time. A few cheap tortilla crisps, no salsa,guacamole out of a jar,I'm sure, couldn't find much in the way of cheese and a few squirts of sour cream. It was dry and tasted of cardboard. Poor show

Good food, nothing out of this world. They easily serve a pitcher of ice water for everyone. Very well maintained basement bathrooms.

Went here for with my daughter in law to be and her mum best value for money for the boozy brunch and Lottie the most amazing host..will definitely be back. Thank you xx

College town pub. Electronic orders and payments is fast and easy, but signage could be better for non locals to make use easier.

I recently visited The Braes with my mum for a light lunch. Growing up and during my student days, this place was always a favorite for its good value food and pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, this visit, my first in over a year, was quite disappointing. We ordered a chicken wrap and a fish sub. While my chicken wrap was well-presented and tasty, the fish sub was unappetizing, with overcooked bits of fish dripping in oil. Despite being the only customers, the waitress was inattentive, preferring to sit with a friend at another table, laughing loudly and on their phones the entire time. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Outstanding value for money, food and drinks at the boozy brunch were excellent. Our waitress, Stevie Meldrum was very intentive and helpful, she even sang happy birthday to us and went the extra mile to make us happy. The best boozy brunch experience we have ever had. My Fiance booked the function room for a work party, we had an amazing time and so did his clients. The guy on the bar Cammy was there all night on the bar, chatting and attending to everyone, genuinely could not fault him. We also had dinner before the event in which Stevie M served us and she was also top tier. Thank you for a great night!

We attend the quiz every Thursday and always have a great time. Quiz host Andrew is a fantastic bloke who always puts on a great show.

awesome vibe, me and my friends come here for the pub quiz every thursday and it’s always a good time with varied rounds and some cheeky £3.50 cocktails. the cookie dough ice cream is a strong staple in our group💪🏼 lots of love from the team who’s name won best name last week: ‘if you can’t quiz in her, quiz on her’ :)

Really great chipotle chicken karaage loaded fries and cauliflower buffalo wings. I was super hungry and it hit the spot perfectly!

They run several fake delivery restaurants from here (fake in the sense of the actual restaurant not existing) and the majority are unauthentic rubbish. Their "Korean fried chicken" shop is the most pathetic thing I've seen, should be ashamed to call it Korean fried chicken, it's just frozen southern fried chicken you can get from any supermarket.

Niamh and Ella are good bar staff. Corey and Nina are brilliant bouncers.

Wonderful afternoon spent here with good friends. We took one of their packages of food and drink (the Boozy Brunch) good value for money.

We spent our Hogmanay here this year and we’re not disappointed, even though the bar was so busy we were served quickly and were able to get seated. All the bar staff were lovely but in particular the girl called Niamh, she was so friendly and approachable which was great, especially as she was having to work such a big night!

Menu isn’t quite as good as it used to be, however for location opposite the university and price it still is amazing.

The braes is so great I’m there very often because the service from Ella Niamh Louise and all the other bar staff is outstanding. Not to mention the affordability, good food and brilliant music and entertainment like the Thursday pub quiz.

Been coming here on and off for over a decade and it was my first time in for their big brunch. Had a lovely time, burger was a little dry but had great flavour, fries were crisp. Our server Louisa was lovely and we were well looked after.
