I sat in front of the open cuisine able to see the Chef and how wonders happen. This already put me in the vibrant and creative atmosphere. Service is professionnal, warm and caring. The revisited Haggis was succulent. A must place to eat and drink with the best of Scotland’s

I'm so glad I got a last minute table here! From the warm welcome from Topher (fab Front of House maestro), through to finding a comfy seat for me on the mezzanine (the fixed position counter stools were no good for me and my wonky knees!), and friendly efficient service throughout, I felt really at home here. The a la carte menu was inventive and delicious; next time I'll do the tasting menu! The wine pairings were also interesting and unusual, but hit the spot. And the espresso martini was the best I've had! Well worth a visit!

This restaurant is part of the Cail Bruich, Shucks group. Therefore you are expecting a high quality meal before you arrive. They did not disappoint! The menu is short but they regularly change it ( my daughter had been a few weeks earlier and some dishes were different). All the options at our table were excellent. From our table you could see the kitchen preparing the food, so much care was taken for each dish. The looks and taste of the dishes reflected this care. We will be back.

Perfeito! Preparem se

I recently visited Brett with high expectations based on the food and atmosphere I’d heard about. The flavors and presentation of the dishes were indeed delightful, especially with beetroot and pumpkin tahini. The ambiance was charming, which really set a great foundation for a memorable dining experience. However, I did notice a bit of tension, which seemed to stem from the management side. At one point, I saw the manager hovering nearby and frequently stepping in to micromanage the staff, even when they were clearly doing an excellent job. It felt unnecessary and at times it even created a slight discomfort in the otherwise relaxed setting. Otherwise such a pleasant evening with some old chums and would recommend again to anyone visiting Glasgow.

A small little restaurant with pleasant staff and a slightly industrial vibe to the decor. The food is very good with a great use of contrasting flavours. The wine list is ridiculously expensive with the cheapest nearly £40! The food too is greatly overpriced, especially the monkfish and lobster dish in which you get two small medallions of monkfish and two even smaller bits of lobster for £39! I think that the arrogance of their big sister Michelin starred Cail Bruich is rubbing off on them!

Absolutamente impresionante!

Enjoyed everything about Brett. From the moment we had door opened for us , the staff were so friendly and efficient. We sat at the bar and had a brilliant experience of seeing the dishes cooked. Chefs n kitchen staff so calm and working so well together and very happy to chat to us about the dishes they’d just cooked and what we thought of them. And then the food.. my husband and I shared each dish we had, so as not to miss out and all were cooked to perfection, the quail was recommended to us and definately worth it. The duck, monkfish dishes so very tasty and the potatoes and hispi cabbage deserve a mention for fab flavours. When next in Glasgow, we’ll be heading here again.

Had dinner on a Friday night and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We tried the sourdough crouton appetiser with olive and anchovie, chicken wings and clams, the beetroot and blackberry and the special which was a 45 day aged sirloin steak with cafe de paris butter and the potatoes and cabbage sides. The food was incredible, every single dish was 10/10 but the steak was the star it was pretty special and big enough for two people to share. We also tried the strawberry sorbet with creme freche and the and the whisky coffee liqueurs. Service was excellent and we sat at the counter and you're able to watch the chefs do their thing right in front of you. It's not a gimmick like a lot of restaurants were the just assemble the food in front of you that's been cooked out of sight, you really get a front row seat in to workings of a high end kitchen and it was cool to watch. Watching the steak getting seared and cooked on the charcoal grill was a nice touch. There's a good selection of drinks and wine but the wine was very expensive but the price of the food is fair when you see the skill involved and the quality of the produce.

We had a wonderful meal at Brett sitting watching the chefs from our bar stools. We both had the pasta starter- perfectly cooked and the duck main course which was also really well executed. We shared the tarte tatin which was delicious. Could not fault any of the dishes and the portion size was just right. The wine list is really interesting and good value for money. Everything we had was excellent; I particularly remember the Hispi cabbage and mushroom XO linguini. The cabbage was perfectly steamed but still crunchy with a memorable dressing and crispy allium crumb. The linguini came with a Parmesan foam that gave the dish an airy quality, with a lot of umami. Excellent service, too.

What a delight of a venue. Beautifully decorated, an open kitchen not kicking out too much heat, a small space not kicking out too much heat & a well curated space to accommodate a good number of people. The food is outstanding, we were a 4 top on a Saturday night and just asked for the menu in its entirety. A great way to experience everything they have and the techniques used. Id say they're one tweak/flavour work from achieving a Michelin star status. It's that close. Service wa knowledgeable and friendly throughout, it always helps. The wine available was great and diverse, I loved reading the list. My one small Debbie downer on the experience; being informed that the table was due to be given back imminently, as we were ordering digestifs. A simple invite to enjoy them at the open bar space whilst they reset the table would have hit a little better. Our bill was sizeable enough to be given that little bit of love. But that didn't sully the experience in the slightest. A great visit and one that had I reason to visit Glasgow......I would repeat.

It’s a pity that this venue is SO tiny..I personally would never select a backless barstool upon which to eat my fine food - hence we selected of the few dining tables jammed up on the little mezzanine they’ve artfully created to increase how many bums they can get on seats…& it’s an awkward climb that somewhat proves a tad noisy (& cramped ) ..but the delicious food the kitchen sends up to you makes that steep & heavenward climb worthy of every grunt issued getting there! My £ 38 monkfish an exemplar of the exceptionally high standard of kitchen work achieved here ..and at a slightly high price point for sure. Though whilst they can offer a £28 2 course menu > their club steak will set you back £76! Regarding my fish, I swooned with delight at the sheer refinement of both the perfection achieved in coaxing the delicate meat to a state of utter tenderness yet retaining every aspect of the texture & natural sweetness the translucent flesh that fish could deliver when wisely handled…it was bathed in a sublime sauce that couldn’t be faulted … perfect viscosity as well as breath-taking flavour. My it was certainly something to relish eating, & enjoying! Worth every penny! Everyone else reported their choices similarly excellent- but suspect I’d hit the jackpot with my selection ! I remain underwhelmed by the (2 slices ) of the ever so temptingly described, yet inexplicably bland, chicken fat sourdough bread for which you are charged, if tempted! The bread was indeed fabulous..as it should have been, priced at £6… but the whipped nonesense accompanying it seemed so underwhelming I’d rather have had a decent pat of good Scottish butter, thank you very much, Chef! . But I quibble.. go here right away. It is a marvel..& no wonder there’s almost never an empty place at every sitting. Highly recommended.

Brett is at the top of the heap of great restaurants in Glasgow. Perfect combo of neighborhood vibe and fine dining. I tried the tomatoes and oyster for the first time last night. OMG! Smarter than before but with small cutlery and window tables that need leveling. The thing is I dont like Anchovies, Oysters, Trout roe ! So the menu is not me. Better if I had taken the Set Menu (2 courses £28), we ordered from the A La Carte and the cost mounted. Not seeing a starter I wanted I took the Perello olives & Sourdough bread! Mains of Duck & broad beans £32 was ordinary, some of the duck to tough to cut.Ratte Lovage spuds, few for £10! However the dessert Tatin with ice cream was a joy, as was front of house service from Lauren. Wines list is good and Chef Dillon interesting to speak with. Advise against Mezanine tables perhaps, outside tables rather close to traffic.

This week we visited Brett, wine bar & restaurant on Great Western Road. Glasgow. When we arrived we received a warm welcome from all of the staff and were shown to our table, great start. Our server was extremely knowledgeable of everything they had to offer, without being overbearing, a credit to the business. The A La Carte menu is different and quite adventurous. They also have a fixed price three course menu which represents good value for money. We opted for the Chateaubriand for two which was perfectly cooked, succulent, and tender. The dessert, Pink Lady Apple Tarte Tatin, was one of the best desserts I had ever tasted. This is a very cheffy restaurant which you may find overwhelming at times if you're not used to this type of dining. Though on the expensive side, we did feel it was good value for money based on the quality of the food. Cocktails were also excellent. Several reviews complain about a service charge being applied to the bill, but you do get complimentary still and sparkling water provided. Overall a most enjoyable experience and I'm sure we'll be returning for more in the near future. Well done to all the staff at Brett and thank you for a pleasant evening.

We both ordered the Scallops which were tasty but to get only one scallop for £16 was a bit of a rip off. The restaurant has also joined the trend of adding a 12.5% tip to the bill which although not obligatory most will pay to avoid any embarrassment. I appreciate good service and normally tip well but it's up to me to decide how much to tip and I won't be back for that reason alone.

Came here for Valentine’s Day - an amazing experience! Today’s special cocktail Cupid is of sweet taste - might be better with more alcoholic feeling as for now I feel it more like a soda drink rather than a cocktail. Special starter scallop is great! Creamy taste but of great balance so that you won’t feel it too much. Especially after the oysters as snacks - they are fresh, opened my appetite. Tried venison as the main dish - delicious!! Better to pair with wine, it’s definitely my favorite. Then go for the burnt basque cheesecake, the plum and yogurt are of sour taste but they have a great dessert wine to pair with, which makes it overall so good. Nice staffs and talented chef team, will make sure to come back again 💖

Fantastic meal here, service was knowledgeable and friendly without being overbearing. Food was simply sensational. Oysters to start, fresh and tasty, we had cod, scallops, raw beef, tortellini, cod toast, venison, chocolate mousse and cheesecake. All well presented, imaginative and delicious. The raw beef was a particular hilight, lots of different tastes and textures, was exceptional.

Tried Brett for a Saturday lunch and it didn't disappoint. Understated and relaxed but everything was perfect. The cocktails to start were great and there is a really well priced wine by the glass menu that was perfect for a lunch meal. We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs work which adds to the experience. The food was faultless with the highlight being the venison, chanterelles and seed granola. Can't wait to return for dinner in the future.

Fabulous “wee” restaurant/bistro or whatever you want to call it. Great food, drinks, & wines you will not find anywhere else. The staff & chefs revel in being asked about the dishes and sauces, so don’t be shy to ask!

This was my first visit to Brett and having eaten at what are regarded as some of Glasgow's best restaurants I can honestly say the dishes sampled pretty much exceeded anything I've eaten elsewhere. Well balanced complex flavour profiles perfectly considered to give each dish a totally unique character. A menu with enough variety to suit any palate and meat and fish cooked to absolute perfection. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable and passionate about their dishes. I'll be back.

Been several times and this is the best restaurant in Glasgow IMHO. Food is amazing, service is low-key yet attentive, cocktails are also really good. I literally have zero complaints. Sitting at the kitchen bar adds to the occasion as you watch the chefs work. 10/10. Raw beef was my favourite followed by the squid. But honestly it was very close between everything.

Fabulous dining and wining experience in Glasgow. Probably the best food in the city, definitely the best service, incredibly passionate and knowledgeable front of house. The food is just a bawhair behind, the raw beef possibly the greatest, most intelligent reworking of a tartare I have ever eaten, the lamb so-so, the much raved about dauphinoise underseasoned, the squid superb. Vegetarian plates were handled brilliantly. But the standout was the wine and the wine service, barring an overly young Barollo, which was our fault (never order a sub 20 year old Barollo) , the wines were superb, and served with knowledge and passion. We had it large and did £260 for two but on the whole it was quite brilliantly done. Maybe the wonderful patron could spend a few quid on making the window tables level? But those few nitpicks aside, it's superb, memorable and deserves to succeed.

Brett is a truly amazing restaurant. The food is incredible and the staff are so lovely and passionate about their work. We had some wonderful conversations with them, and the wine list is fantastic. The sommelier gave us some recommendations to pair with our food and her input was spot on. They made my husband's birthday super special with their amazing service and food. We are both vegetarian. They were very attentive to this and there was plenty of beautiful food for us

Late review here, my partner and I wandered in while in the West End a couple of weeks ago. The food was so good, I forgot to take pictures. Every dish was better than the last but we were absolutely obsessed with the potato dauphnoise! The GIANT scallops also deserve a shout out. The wine and whisky lists were extensive and again didn't disappoint. The entire serving staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We loved watching and listening to the kitchen and expo staff work so well as a team. Coming from hospitality backgrounds ourselves, we really loved seeing such a well run establishment. Absolutely can not wait to come back, and experience Brett again!

We had the most incredibly memorable evening at Bar Brett. The food was perfect and so was the service. We were celebrating our engagement plus a birthday and the Bar Brett experience just added that extra special touch. For me the raw aged beef and the lamb special were the highlights. For my fiancé the gnocchi and beef were his personal favourites. The cocktails were incredible and we would highly recommend coming here for any occasion! The team knew in advance of my birthday but when prompted by my partner that he had actually proposed then proceeded to offer further congratulations (signed card) and offer of champagne. We are fortunate enough to know Kris (chef) who also gave us his congratulations (and privacy) adding to the experience. Could not recommend Brett highly enough. Regards One very happy couple x

I had the doner mix wrap which comes with fries. Very tasty. The big draw was fresh meat kebabs, not like the processed rubbish most places serve. Very friendly service and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

. . . . no te lo pierdas!

Had Christmas dinner here. Staff seemed anxious, Xmas spirit non existent. Turkey dinner was awful. Shop bought sliced turkey and stuffing, one veg, potato wedges.
