Food absolutely shocking , cook and servant very long hair not even tied up all down looked like she had just got out bed and walked in forgot to do hair and look presentable definitely against health n hygiene with such long hair loose and serving n cooking food , (food burnt bacon solid all awful)

They got our order wrong, but the staff were very helpful I would give the steak burger a swerve Everything else was okay.

Poor meat portions served on the xmas carvery. Not sure what they thought they were doing today on the carvery for Xmas dinner. People paid 50 odd pound for this and they think it's acceptable to serve the most measily portion of meat I've ever seen, it was actually an insult. The beef was too dry and served as a bit of stringy beef and the gammon and turkey was served in what I would say was less than half a slice. Really let down the meal and feel ripped off.

A pre booked table for 10 all meals pre ordered. We got a plate with 4 overcooked cremated) chicken tenders and dollop of cranberry jelly no garnish just dumped con the plate all other starters were cold so not bad but not great. Our mains were all cold Yorkshire puddings that you could have built a house with pigs in blankets that were dry and cremated ( nearly as bad as the chicken)veg that was cold and tough as old boots even when we sant the meals back to be re heated they came back cold. Deserts took about 40 mins to come out but they were edible. The bar had no suitable glassware and staff didn't seem bothered or organised.

What a joke for dinners. Don't bother. We requested a quiet area in our reservation because our grandma is deaf/hard of hearing and can't sit in busy areas or she can't hear. Gave our table away to someone else/ignored the booking request. Food came cold yet somehow overdone too. Whacking cranberry sauce on nachos (vile) and chicken nuggets does not a festive meal make. Some sent back to be microwaved and returned no warmer. Poor staff run ragged and disorganised. No glasses, 20 mins for a pint. It's understandable that sometimes things don't go to plan, but when you prebook a month in advance and pay decent money for it, you don't expect this. Seriously need better management and a general overhaul. Dalesway had been middling at best for the past 20 years. Just when it seemed to be getting back on track, back to square one. Won't be back.

Come here quite often with our grandchildren. The food is ok but often a shortage of staff so tables often left uncleared. The reason why I am writing this review is to highlight what I think is a serious issue. On a number of occasions the nappy bin on the baby changing room is full to capacity with soiled nappies spilling out. I have told staff a couple of times but the situation remains the same. I was actually told by a member of staff that the bin was emptied by an outside company once a week. Once a week.....improvement drastically needed......

It is advertised as a family pub, which it isn't and been told to be quiet when my children were having a good time. Also no good for families with children with special needs like adhd and autism. Overall not a good atmosphere

Place is clean and tidy. Food is awful. Had Festive meal of starter and main. Starter of nachos meant to have pulled turkey and bacon. Needed microscope to find it. Main of Xmas dinner was terrible. All the veg was way over cooked and soggy. Yorkshire pud needed hammer and chisel, roast pots under cooked, stuffing ball absolutely tasteless and I don't think you can get a smaller pig in blanket. £45 down the drain.

Some of the staff are polite, happy and helpful. One in particular doesn't smile, and I saw her pull a face and make irate fists to a customer when she walked away. He asked for more serviettes. The food is not too bad and takes a very long time to arrive. They seem to leave empty plates for a long time once they have been finished with often walking past empty-handed, as well as only part clearing tables, leaving someone else to complete. There is no teamwork. The whole bar, food, and drinks area need a very good deep clean. All they do is a quick wipe, not even thinking of wiping split drinks from the bar or the tables. The drinks machines need s a good clean outside and around the bases, black grime is present, behind the till is harbouring weeks of dust. Just a good spring clean and housekeeping would aid them The hand sanitiser pump stand has dripped and not been cleaned since I arrived Monday, and the base hasn't been moved in months. The grime around the base and floor is black Health and Safety is a no, all walking over the up turned long handled dustpan and hoover. I actually moved to stop an accident. Management really needs to address these issues and be more customer focused, food hygiene aware, and ask if we are happy with our meals and make conversation. It a shame could be a nice, clean, welcoming atmosphere.

Food wasn't too bad, staff a bit slow off the mark. Showed that pub was meant to be open but was closed when we got there. Had to wait 20 minutes as carvery was not set up for when they opened the doors. The carvery serving area could do with rethinking as people had to queue by the main door welcome desk and across the bar which meant too many people in 1 area at the same time which could cause an accident

We were staying in the Premier Inn next door. We ate dinner twice and breakfast once. To be fair we preferred the dinners which were hot and tasty. All the staff, both morning and night were friendly and helpful with the exception of the female behind the bar on the Friday night. She ignored us when we walked in, continuing to replenish the shelves, she did so again when my husband went to the bar to order the food. There were also others waiting and being ignored. One of the other staff members went behind the bar and served everyone. When we left she was still filling shelves. Perhaps she needs a lesson on using the till.

Thought we would try here again as not been for sometime, but won't be going again in a hurry. My meal which was katsu chicken curry, this came on a child's size plate and was a few dry chicken goujons with a bit of sauce on top. The chicken burger was 4 chicken goujons in a bun with a few chips, my friend had a pizza and that was quite nice. We sat in the pub part which was very tired looking, the radiator did not work and had sachets of sauce down the back, tables were not cleared and the windows were drafty. No cold large bottles of fizz, they had also run out of fish. The staff were nice but not enough of them. Wont be going again.

The Team at the Dalesman led by Lee are fantastic. Made a special birthday in to a very special one, friendly, helpful and professional. Food again always excellent quality, portions and quality. As Arnie says we'll be back!

Went with friends for dinner and the service from all the staff was amazing. Special thanks to Pam, who looked after us really well and was so helpful and friendly. A really enjoyable evening in a comfortable setting. We will definitely be back.

Food was ok got the katsu curry and it was nice. But the staff were more vocal about how they couldn't wait to go to bed, this was at 9.30pm. yes they've probably worked hard but we don't need to be made to feel guilty about ordering food or drinks. Most things were sold out so by the time we had our main we were told there was nothing left! All of their festive menu was sold out too. I mean your a large chain how does that happen. Disappointing visit and won't come back.

Today we held a management conference within the premises. It was a last minute venue request, which was welcomed and supported by the manager. A majority of the 18 managers that attended had a breakfast which was delivered with high customer service. The food was excellent and encouraged the purchase of light lunches. On reflection of our meeting it was one of the best venues that we have used. The manager was so accommodating and friendly. Thank you. Highly recommended for any form of function

Very average, food was OK, service was OK.

Me and my partner come here often and always seems nice, there’s a young manger that’s always lovely prioritising customer service. However one girl, brown hair gives off a very negative atmosphere to the place stomps around slamming tills shut. Never smiling and always speaking to higher members like rubbish, when I’m pretty sure she’s just a team member, not very hygienic with really greasy hair working around food. Foods usually good and kids seem to have fun in the play area they provide.

We went for breakfast which was good & very good value. Service was a little slow, but it was a busy time.

Had a really nice breakfast here but came back for a drink in the evening and served by horrible young, bleach blonde haired girl who was super rude- prioritising organising glasses over serving customers and horrible attitude to guests. Very off putting and stopped us from spending the evening there. Having her boyfriend in the bar made it seem very unprofessional and wouldn't want to drink there again. Spoke to manager who was lovely and will hopefully deal with this rude girl!

Went for a family meal and had lasagne which was fresh and tasty. Service was super as normal. Shout out to the manager James for always being a star!!

Absolutely shocking customer service again kitchen was shut early, AVOID at all costs because you never know if the chef can be bothered keeping the kitchen open, asked a member of staff when I walked in what time food was served until was told that last food orders were 21:45

Went for lunch me and my wife both had fish and chips my fish was perfectly fine but hers was 80% batter the fish clearly got away but the 20% that was fish was so thin it was over cooked and dry..

When there 5th October got a grill the onion rings were cold (made earlier) my egg was not even full cooked on top of steak and you gey spoon full at most of peppercorn sauce at most for almost £2 , must say steak did taste nice bit the rest was not good at all very disappointed there was 3 of us and paid £55 what a waste of money very bad value won't be going back sorry notgood

Kimberley was a very friendly and informative member of staff. It was my birthday and she made it extra special. Food a bit disappointing We both had the same meal and the portions were visibly different

Often get good offers so we take advantage of them - we have had several things from the menu and all have been good - the pizzas are very nice and we got loads when we had the mixed grill

Spot on ,This is how a meal should be,food good service excellent,checking everything was ok ,could seem to do enough for our party.

The staff work extremely hard and never stop, always polite and helpful. The food is ok. We ate a mix grill each. Nothing special. Lots of the customers when we visited were staying in the adjoining accommodation (midweek visit.) There is lots of parking in the large carpark. I booked to the table prior to setting off - very easy but guaranteed a table.

Good value for money. Especially if your on there mailing list and receive a voucher code

I was dining with someone in a wheelchair and they reserved a table with easy access. They also removed a chair to allow the wheelchair to be kept out of everyone else's way.

Went here for a small gathering for celebrating birthday, the food was excellent I had the carvery which although I couldn't get more meat, I could have as much vegetables and cheesy potatoes I wanted and I did, I went back for thirds.

I have visited here a few times recently and at least twice we were told we had to order our food by 8pm (normally 9pm) as the chef was going home as he was on his own…. I even witnessed people being turned away despite them having a table booked…:. Maybe hire more staff or change the food hours

Visited today and have to say, we had absolutely amazing service from Pam in the kids area. Absolute credit to the place. Pam made sure every child ( and adult ) was catered for. It was like going to a family members house, Pam was very nice and knowledgeable and had time for everyone. Pam definately made this trip the next level and is an absolutely amazing lady.

Waited over 2 hours for food, major problems in communication between ordering and kitchen, poor waitress in tears ( not from grief from us ) no one taking responsibility. Will not return.

Friendly staff and really nice breakfast. Particular mention to Amie who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed as a group, regularly checking back to see if we needed anything, and always with a smile.

Went today with our grand kids. They had the kids meal which were fine but we had the carvery and was dissatisfied with the offerings. Due to a delivery problem There was no Yorkshire puddings and the veg choice was very sparse. They were closing the carvery down and I asked if it was time to close it and the young lad said we’re closing it because it dosnt look very appealing with there being a short supply of food and yet we still got charged the full price. Not impressed

EDIT: Gave these another go as they are under new management and it's a whole lot better. The staff are friendly and welcoming, everything is explained upon arrival. It was a Sunday and they do a carvery which was pretty good. The seating area was at capacity but food was available for all tables which was a pleasant surprise as usually at capacity most pubs do booking only. The only reason I gave it another try after an abysmal experience is because I heard it was under new management 👍🏻 otherwise I would not have returned, keep up the good work guys and remember, a smile goes a long way ☺️

Working away from home, I had a couple of nights in the premier inn next door and used the pub for my evenings.

We go mid week 2 for £11 good value for us not so good for big eaters but ample for us always enjoy

Walked in young gentleman welcomed us asked if we had booked? Said no and then asked how many? I said 3 an asked if we had any food allergies, took us down to our table and said go to the bar when ready to order. Was served by a young lady again very polite and we ordered. Waited about 15 to 20 minute for food but drinks got right away, very polite service and food I got the 8oz steak with salad, son Brewers hot dog dinner, wife Prawn cocktail and side salad. Food was very well presented and delicious so overall well pleased and can fully recommend, prices affordable and reasonable certainly go again.

Went for my Wife's birthday meal on Saturday. table booked for 7pm. Placed our order at the bar and got our drinks ten minutes later. Our food finally arrived at 8:40pm. An hour and a half later!!!! Apparently our order didn't get through to the kitchen! No apology from the waitress or visit from the manager. We also asked twice for the aircon to be turned down, but this was ignored. We complained to the manager after the meal, and although he apologised then it was very insincere and just said that this had happened a few times!! if this was the case, then he should have made it his job to check. We will certainly NOT be going back and would strongly recommend others to think again.

Don't have any gluten free options apart from egg chips and beans......in this day and age with people who have allergies that are medical conditions you really need to be looking at alternative options....not rocket science....think about it.

Been coming in years, was told a child was too big for soft play, not too tall but too big. Rude staff I wouldn’t mind but there was adults and larger children in the play area. But they are friends with the manager so that’s okay I guess. One rule for management friends and family and another rule for customers. I would avoid.

Love going to my local Brewers Fayre, The Dalesway. Always a pleasant visit and lovely food

Went for Mother's Day, food was top quality, staff was lovely both in and out of the play area. Carvery was gorgeous and generous, highly recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights as a fase to see the area. Bedroom was as expected, clean and functional, bar area was nice enough although seemed very short staffed, toilets very dirty. Breakfast was buffet style, plenty of choice and good value.
