Food was nice, what let it down I ordered 3 beers, all 3 glasses were not just dirty but were covered in grime and large bits such as food. I went to bar and was given a blank look and told they will sort it, gave me fresh glass and was just as bad. Staff were not energetic and happy to be there and no enjoyment in work, again food was nice but wouldn’t go again due to everything else, top it off we had to wait an hour for food.

So we came for our Christmas day meal as last year was great. We were all disappointed unfortunately this year. The price was £70 so for that price everything should be spot on. Prawn cocktail starter was ok but a hell of a lot of lettuce that none of us finished. 2 Christmas dinners were ok but cold. There was a check back at our table but we'd only just cut into our meals never mind eating any. 3rd meal was steak and again cold chips. For the price we were also expecting a few mushrooms, a couple of onion rings maybe but it turned out to be just steak, cold chips and peas. The dessert was ok. The little amount of staff clearly didn't want to be there and it clearly showed. I've had to work over Christmas for the last 16yrs. You put a smile on and crack on with it. If you don't want to do it and you can't even fake a smile then ladies you need to change your job. Not one smile from any of the staff. Why was the supervisor not boying her staff along? We will not be coming here again for our Christmas meal

We booked here for my sisters 40th birthday. Sadly to say it was very disappointing! The service was average .. some of the meals were forgotten about. Some people were still waiting for drinks after being ordered! Poorly laid out. The food was rubbish .. we had 3 courses off the festive menu .. on the website it was advertised £24.99 when we went to pay the bill it was £26.99! Very miss leading and I couldn’t be bothered to argue the facts ! We won’t be returning. Very poor experience

Super value for money with 2 for 1 offer on Sunday. As there were 3 of us the saving was only 33%. Yorkshire pudding had been sitting around for a long time and was approaching leather quality, and some veg had been cooked well in advance. We were there at about 6pm, and posted times were 5-8:30 pm.

Food was delicious, but it took almost an hour to get it!

Really good experience again tonight, always friendly and knowledgeable with a family members allergies. Food didn’t disappoint, always treated well in the restaurant, highly recommend.

5 of us had the Christmas Festive menu last nigh December 18th. Having booked and paid in full the week before we had to ask if due to a medical appointment we could alter the time to 7 pm. only to be told they had not processed our booking. The time was altered but at 6.30 and on route we received a phone call asking when will we be arriving. Luckily the restaurant was not very busy probably due to the awful weather that night and our table was set with a festive tablecloth including crackers. The food was up to the usual standard and all the staff were very pleasant. The only disappointment and it was very disappointing at 9.01 pm being told after asking for a latte that the coffee machine was CLOSED Having spent approximately £170/£180 I would have expected the staff to make the latte but that did not happen Gary family and friends

Came yesterday with friends for the first time, the staff came across as if they couldn't be bothered. The food was mediocre at best. Won't return

The food and the service was very good and everyone enjoyed it. But I was disappointed in the fact that I had invited 36 people to the lunch and paid the deposit as required and told that this was none refundable which I quite understand. I then paid the balance by the date required, unfortunately 7 people in the group had taken ill and couldn't make it to the lunch. I expected to get a small refund for the 7 elderly people that couldn't come but was then told the whole cost of the meal was not refundable. This meant the restaurant made £77 out of unfortunate senior citizens. Ho well the governments taken their winter fuel payments off off them, the pub might as well take Thier food money off them.

Quite disappointed about my families experience tonight . Service wasn't great and neither was the christmas meal. I felt sorry for the staff or lack of staff would be more to the point. The upstairs was extremely busy and although the staff did there best it wasn't good enough. So to the the owner of the establishment my advice would review your staffing , or don't take so many bookings .

We had a lovely experience at the brinsley lodge. The food was nice and there was plenty of choice. The serving staff were lovely and the place has plenty of room so your not sitting right on top of one another. Plenty of free parking outside too and no service charge added at the end as do so many places these days. I would recommend trying it here as it's much better than most places around, all for a reasonable price. We had two hunters chicken with jacket potatoes, chicken tikka masala with rice, although you can have chips or half n half if you wish and the chicken teriyaki tacos.

Went out with friends for a Our wedding anniversary meal. Very nice food, lovely staff, although my friend asked for jacket potato but came with chips wasn't too much of a problem.as they did ask to change the meal

Arrived around 9.45am on a Thursday to an empty pub, but lots of tables were already reserved. We were greeted in a friendly manner and found a table. Unfortunately, most of the menus on our table weren't clean; traces of ketchup or food left on them so I resorted to using the online menu. After ordering and paying, the coffee arrived in a very quick manner and it was really nice. Our full English arrived not long after and again, I was really happy with the standard of the meal.

Family birthday celebration yesterday and we all enjoyed our meals which came out in a timely fashion. It was all hot and very tasty

Surprisingly it was very nice, first time been here. I'd go back again as food was delicious and plentiful.

Called in for Sunday dinner with partner. We waited an hour before being served. It was very poor. Food wasn't really hot. Gravy was already put on which is usually in a gravy boat. Was disappointed as usually meals have been ok.

More expensive than it used to be but where isn't these days (even Wetherspoons), specials during the week can drop the cost considerably we went on Saturday night all food was excellent, starter ,main, and dessert staff polite and efficient.

Food was nice, the assistant manager was trying his hardest to stay on top of things in the restaurant whilst downstairs was busy. Could have done with more staff being on just to take the stress away from the staff on. A Saturday evening you'd have thought more would have been on.

Normally come here when can afford a meal out usually nice but this time waiting nearly an hour and when dinner came out steak and jacket potato cold took it back then was overcooked when brought it back,chips was really hard couldn't eat them and the onion rings and mushrooms was cold being brought out to early and so was the garlic bread,i hate complaining but when paying nearly £50 out at least my dog did enjoy the steak so at least a happy dog

Food was amazing as always, we had the steak meal and mixed grill, food was fresh and they are always super busy, we where told we had a long wait but the food was out at a reasonable time :) we will definitely be back.

Asked for a pint of beer and got pint glass with about 3/4 inch of froth, assumed it was one of those glasses which holds in excess of a pint, but unfortunately not. Ordered rump steak cooked medium, the steak was tuff, the chips were mostly dried up, the peas were cheep and nasty, the only edible dish was the side of onion rings. Now when I’m paying top dollar I expect quality, this is greasy spoon stuff. So do yourself a favour and avoid.

Went to Brinsley lodge for my birthday with a table booked. Had been seated upstairs and told it was table service. Service was poor, people who was arriving after us was being served first. Completely forgotten about for 10/15 minutes. When we had been served we had Both ordered a steak, one being well done the other medium rare. When food and sides come out they had been put on to somebody else’s table for a good 2-5 minutes before realising it was our food and not theirs. Well done steak was medium rare and medium rare steak came rare as anything all pink with blood coming out. Sides was cold, chips was warm & steak got cold half way through eating. Usually a really good place to eat but very disappointed with service and won’t be returning on evenings.

Been many times and couldn't falter the service or anything else. Came yesterday and the service was not good. We were overcharged to start with. On the Monday menu everything on the list said it came with chips. We ordered the pizza. When it came there were no chips. When we enquired about this we were told that all but the pizza came with chips which is not what was shown on the menu. This is the first time we have not been impressed with our visit.

Absolutely beautiful steak, onion rings are proper onion rings, big with real batter. Calamari is lovely and staff are amazing 👏 Lots on the menu to cater for all. Thank you for a lovely Sunday service.

The place was very loud and busy, we were seated upstairs, the service wasn't great since the server who was taking our order walked off without saying a word mid order then returned without apologising or making sense of what happened, didn't seem like the staff were managed well and everyone appeared to be rushing around after one another. The food was typical pub food, hard chips, and the gammon was very salty, eggs had jelly on top and mushrooms were watery. The food was average and the price wasn't too expensive considering. Although my experience this time wasn't promising, with all the credit the place was very busy for a Tuesday night so I can understand the tense atmosphere. Would visit again regardless, one bad experience isn't enough to judge.

The staff and atmosphere were amazing and the food delicious. My hubby had the fish and chips and I had quiche salad with new potatoes. Followed by Apple pie, and Strawberry sundae. Including drinks the price was £23.60. What is there not to like. This was the 2 for 1 offer. Overall very satisfied.

For the prices you pay I would expect exceptional service, staff were miserable and had attitude. Came to our table with 2 steaks, which we had not ordered, huffing n puffing with the attitude, not my fault you got it wrong. Food came eventually to the table 1 hour plus later and hot plate was sent straight in front of a child in a high chair, not acceptable , Health n safety anyway food was not good service was totally not alright so not be recommending you at all. Customer service needs attention every thing was an effort especially for one, I’m sure they no who they are. In the wrong job I think.

Had a roast beef carvery today for amazing value the food was absolutely faultless and the girls serving behind the bar and bringing the food were top draw. Value is very good for the food, and will certainly be back again maybe next time for a steak. This would have been a 5* had the price for a Pepsi max not been £3.50 for a glass the size of 3/4 of a pint.

Why is a adult with dementia and who struggles to eat a full meal not allowed to have a child's meal.? Even your manager wouldn't help with this I'm disgusted that they had to pay for a portion they wouldn't eat !

Do not eat here if celiac/ gluten intolerant was assumed my meal would be gluten free and it wasn't I have now been glutened so now got at least week of suffering with bloated stomach,cramps and pains as we as other things

Red hot weather and really didnt fancy much so ordered the ham salad with new potatoes. As it was busy and everything is prepared fresh to order there was a totally understandable wait. The plain ham salad was anything but .... and was the absolute best salad ever eaten out and trust me I am a very very faddy eater who places great emphasis on presentation and quality. Hand carved thick slices of melt in the mouth ham, coleslaw, cheese, egg and every salad accompaniment you could mention and then came a huge bowl of new potatoes in real butter and parsley. Everything home made not mass produced and you could tell! Far from not being hungry I ate and enjoyed almost all of it. Superb and excellent value. Incedible and really really impressed!

Funeral buffet absolutely Perfect very good value. All guests commented on the great selection. The staff were brilliant. Would definitely recommend for any celebration .it just flowed perfectly which really helped my mum . Lady was so nice behind bar and big thanks to the chef such a well presented buffet a great variety of food Thanks. The Hallam family x ♥️

As normal the food was fabulous however the service was a little disappointing. We waited over an hour for our food. We are regular customers and have not experienced this before, a word from a staff member to say there was a delay would have been good, not just a look every so often.

Unfair previous reviews! If brinsley lodge knew they would have sorted it there and then. We love it here, friendly staff that make you feel welcome and the food is always tasty quick and hot.

Atmosphere already made when customers are miserable, me and the girlfriend walk in I see the I assume supervisor..I ask do we just sit down? And the reply was "if you want" I didn't understand what to do did we have to wait to be served or go to the bar there was nothing or any clarity on what to do, we had a couple next to us they were waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes food!! It's unfortunate as we are locals and always been curious to then be treated like weirdos. Absolute shame as I like food and would've had a full 3 course meal and all they've done is lose out on a minimum of £80 and return business if treated properly, all we wanted was proper service and quality food it's not hard to do as being a ex chef myself, especially when marketed that way...absolute shame....

Went with family for lunch, party of 6 of us. Long wait for food to come (I put this down to one member of the party selecting a dish from the general menu rather than the Sunday roast menu). I ordered roast beef dinner, arrived smothered in cold gelatinous gravy, which I had to scrape off the meat, I couldn’t bring myself to eat any of the veg as it was all over cooked, mash was lumpy and Yorkshire pudding dry. Personal taste , everyone else ate theirs. I certainly won’t be returning.

Popped on for breakfast after taking the dogs for a walk along The Headstocks. Excellent food, outstanding service, we highly recommend this establishment and the staff.

The food is some of the best we’ve ever had all locally sourced the staff are all very attentive and happy making sure every part of your experience is good in all the years we’ve been going there. I cannot say we’ve ever had a bad meal.

I regularly go to Brinsley Lodge. I went for a meal yesterday and was disappointed with the quality and quantity of food. I didn't realize there was a Monday special menu. I go to Brinsley to get a good and not necessarily a cheap meal. I took family members with me. This is the first bad meal I have had there in years.

Very expensive once you order the sides for your steak. The sirloin steak l ordered was so tough l couldn't stick the fork into it never mind cut it with my steak knife......utter RUBBISH !!! STAY CLEAR AND EAT ELSEWHERE !

You will not get a better price for food and a massive choice of dishes, nice location too.

Bad attitude . One chewing spearmint. No customer service. Chef came in with 3 meals in his arms then went out for a cig and didn't wash hands. The staff were more of a youth club and food wasn't up touch

First time visiting this place which allowed us to stay over in our motorhome and meet up with family, thanks to Carran. The food was very good and very reasonably priced and cheap drinks, offers most days, with very good service, hopefully stay there again when visiting family.

Amazing food high quality food. Great range and good prices. Excellent food and service. Drinks are extortionate prices a pint of bitter and a San Miguel shandy £10.65. Go elsewhere for an enjoyable evening, such as The Great Northern. Never fails to deliver on price and food far superior to Brinsley Lodge.

I was told about Brinsley Lodge by a friend and was surprised how good the food was. The price was less than you would pay at Wetherspoons, but the quality and quantity were far superior. We are definitely going back to try the rest of the menu. I would have given it 10 out of 10, but one member of the staff was a bit on the serious side with no warmth or smiles. This is just my honest point of view. All in all, exerlant all-around experience and would recommend.

Food nice portions seem to have got smaller, smaller slice of pie, less meat in the lasagne. Perhaps we were just particularly hungry on the day. Will go again.

We was passing and never had any issues before. Would not recommend. Had fish and chips with a free coffee. Got charged another £4.50. confronted rude staff chewing gum. Said she would refund but wouldn't give us a receipt. Tables were saved from there friends. Not reserved saying alright babe and chewing gum.

We have been coming here in the last two months the food is amazing I don't eat big meals starters normally and chef's specils are very tasty ie pork belly on chef's special my hubby likes the Sunday dinner and grandson loves every thing on the menus and the onion rings are amazing it's out treat at the end of the week but some time we come in for week day special great food great cheff and staff

Food is delicious ! Lots of choice and good size portions ,never had a bad meal here. We dined upstairs where the views out the windows are lovely and the service is great , nothing too much trouble. The beer batter onion rings are so good !

If you value your money and gut health don’t go here. The food is quite frankly disgusting, under or over cooked and bland. Looks and tastes like it’s been left standing for weeks. Ordered the burger lettuce was brown and wet, burger resembled corned beef, bun was hard and shrivelled. Coleslaw bland with skin over the top. Chips tasteless. Sent back and brought out a £14.99 pizza uncooked with a sour cream that tasted as smelt like gone off milk. Kids meal burger was the same, my child went hungry. Me and my mother had sickness and diarrhoea after having a few mouthfuls of this food and returning it for a refund. The place is dated and needs a glow up along with the staff.

We had 2 steaks and asked for medium. Before we started eating, we were asked if the food was OK, of course we said it was, after starting to eat realised it was medium rare swimming in blood, was asked again if the food was OK, I said no it was medium rare I couldn't eat it, asked if I wanted another unfortunately I didn't as it had put me off, we were still charged for it, The manager there is both rude and uninterested in the customers concerns, we are regulars there burlt won't be returning.

Turned up without a booking and the place was rammed for a Tuesday. The manager managed to squeeze us in though which was great. Sat down next to two tables who were finishing their food. We placed our order at the bar and waited. The tables next to us got sat with new customers. Half an hour later those two tables were already eating whilst we were still waiting. 50 minutes later I informed the manager we had waited a while and still hadn’t received our food whilst the new tables next to us had. She just walked off, didn’t say a word. Someone came over a few minutes later and said our food would be another ten minutes… so basically they had forgotten and only just started to cook it. She said they had a big party upstairs who slowed down service.. but seemingly only for me and my mum, no other tables. Food arrived and the chips were undercooked and soggy. I left most of mine. No apology from the staff. We left and agreed we wouldn’t return.

Tried here for the Tuesday lunch offer. Food was nice But the wait was 1 hour 25 mins for the main course. And when I asked staff They never even came back Had to ask another. Wasn’t impressed and would not recommend

Had heard that there was a new menu and chef. Quiet early Saturday evening. Salt shaker coated in dried gravy, having just been refilled by staff member. Pan fried French beans not topped and tailed( strange) and larger beans still raw. Creamed potato tasted of nothing and was consistency of wallpaper paste.Steak and ale pie....beef nice,pastry rock hard. Gravy boat had large chip around neck, I have no idea if it was in the gravy or not. Really disappointed. Waitress asked if all was OK,I said no, but she walked off clearly not interested enough to wait for a reply. P.s. Main menu has minute writing so take your specs.

Great dog friendly restaurant, excellent menu , good beer selection , fast and friendly service 👍
