Tuvimos una reserva familiar para celebrar un cumpleaños número 90 cuando por culpa de la posada Burtree, la celebración tuvo que ser cancelada en el último minuto después del clima extremo que dejó al burtree sin electricidad. Andy se disculpó mucho por la situación y como compensación invitó a algunos de nuestros invitados a una comida de cortesía, incluyendo a la cumpleañera Fiel a su palabra Andy y su personal sin duda nos cuidó cuando fuimos. La comida, como de costumbre, era excelente, con porciones muy generosas que incluían el gammon, pollo al curry y una de las especialidades del burtree el parmo. Burtree sigue siendo uno de nuestros lugares favoritos para la comida de buena relación calidad-precio y lo recomendaría para una visita - no te decepcionará

What a wonderful discovery! This restaurant has a very lovely calm atmosphere. The menu is very varied with plenty of choice. All dishes were very tasty and abundant. Despite being full, we could not resist a desert and Eton Mess was a huge success. The kids menu is also very rich and abundant. We appreciated fresh vegetables in the menu that were brought first, avoiding the competition with fries. Our son is generally a good eater, but today we were genuinely impressed by the appetite with which he finished everything on his plate (and more). He surely enjoyed lunch just as much as we did. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Thank you so much!

Esta es en general la mejor cena de domingo que he probado. Fui con mi familia y a todos nos encantó. Puedes elegir entre carne de res, pavo o gammon para tu cena del domingo, y obviamente aparte de eso hay una amplia variedad disponible para que disfrutes y elijas. El camarero y las camareras son todos tan educados, saludo a ellos, y el cocinero merece un aumento! Todo en mi plato fue cocinado a la perfección y también se podía conseguir cerdos en mantas por un precio razonable y buena cantidad y calidad. Nos sentíamos elegantes así que compramos postres, un Eton Mess y una tarta de chocolate. La tarta de chocolate fue servida con mantequilla de maní y helado de oreo que sabía como Reese’s Pieces y toffee/caramel palomitas de maíz! El desorden eton también era hermoso y las bayas eran frescas y deliciosas a la perfección! Si no vienes aquí estás tomando la decisión equivocada, la comida aquí siempre es deliciosa y nunca sobre o poco cocinada. Definitivamente, este es un lugar al que iré una y otra vez y nunca me enfermaré. No hay nada negativo que pueda decir sobre este restaurante porque realmente no había nada malo en el lugar, los empleados o las comidas.

I came here with my mam on the way back to Newcastle, we stopped in for a quick lunch and omg it was amazing. We ordered at the bar and the food came out so quickly, it was hot and delish. Definitely going to return!

Went here last Thursday for coffee and scones with 3 ladies Owner was a lovely friendly man and the scones were the best I have had at any cafe . Soft buttery and full of fruit . Will definitely return next time in ripon

This has always been our favourite go to for a lovely and generous meal, as well as having friendly staff!

Came here whilst lodging away for work, it was very busy and we had no booking, but they accommodated us. The service was efficient and friendly, the food was excellent, hot, massive portions and tasty. I had the steak pie and chocolate orange bread and butter pudding so tasty!!! The food was great, quick and well priced, I will definitely be returning.

Acabamos de mudarnos del sudeste, hace dos semanas. Nos encantan nuestros asados dominicales y visitamos por primera vez el fin de semana pasado y de nuevo esta noche. Reserva no es necesario pero siempre tan ocupado. La comida es excepcional! Tubería caliente, salsa espesa, Yorkshires caseros y un montón de verduras. Lack of meat in the belly pork meal

This place is a hidden gem, everywhere stopped serving food early on Sunday and we was running out of hope… but then… we found this place… Glowing in the sunset! The only one still going and busy! Venue was nice and staff were so kind! Very helpful on the food selections. Portion sizes is AMAZING for value. We would 1000% recommend coming here if you’re near by! Proper homemade food, absolutely belting!

We went in on Saturday the 10th August 24, excellent service from the three women and one man working at that time, will definitely return.

Acabo de almorzar el domingo con mi esposa, la diferencia entre un pequeño picadillo y albóndigas y un estándar era mínimo por decir lo menos, no a favor de la comida más grande, dos comidas pequeñas separadas por una albóndiga de dos pulgadas y nada más, y la botella de cerveza de hierro wkd con una mejor fecha antes de octubre de 2023 iba a morir por posiblemente literalmente , 😳😳😳

We've just enjoyed another lovely meal here. My chicken curry was delicious and my husband had the shepherd's pie. Portion size is great too. There's nothing more off putting than overloaded plates. Try the lamb shank if you are in the area. We've never had a bad meal here. The staff are lovely and it's one of our favourite places to eat. Hot chocolate is nice and hot but could possibly have a touch more chocolate.

We have just come back from the Burtree inn Our meal was amazing …beautifully cooked and presented . Obviously with fresh ingredients We live locally but hadn’t been for years …..we have been missing a treat ! and will certainly be back again soon The separate gluten free menu was extensive …it was nice for my husband to have a good choice As I said the quality of the food was great and the prices very reasonable

Absolutely fantastic, visiting from West Cumbria for weekend, by the way we not related to the review below, who went back, this is a different one obviousle we felt the same. It was that good on the Saturday night we went back Sunday night, food homecooked and a good plateful , top chef, it was the best food I've had out for quite a while, staff very friendly and helpful hopefully we will be back, thankyou everyone

We were away for the weekend and had a lovely meal here , so much so we came back the next night . Food is absolutely delicious home cooked and large portions too , staff were all very friendly and helpful , very clean , great atmosphere and not too expensive. We will be returning in August when we stay that way again , just wish you were closer to our home so we could come more often , although it probably won't be good for my waistline 🤣

This place is very popular, the staff are so friendly and helpful, there's a slight wait for food but it's worth the wait. The way in which it is presented is different but highly pleasing. 10/10 keep up the good work.

One of our favourite places to eat out, for a romantic meal or family occasion. Always a friendly welcome and shown to a table with menus almost immediately, we’re never left waiting. Properly home-cooked food, cooked fresh and never takes very long to come out, even when they seem very busy. Huge portions and fantastic value! My favourite meal is the steak with peppercorn sauce and every time I order, it is cooked to perfection (Med-Rare). I’ve tried the fillet, rump and sirloin. Recently I had the lamb shank for the first time when we came for Sunday lunch and it just melted off the bone, absolutely amazing! My husband had the turkey which was so moist, not dry at all. We ordered a side of cauliflower cheese, which was easy enough for 2 people and is to die for! We also recently had the barbecue pulled pork Parmesan, which did not disappoint either! We are yet to try out the midweek offer menus, which I imagine are very popular, as it’s all the best of British food and even more fantastic value. Ticks every box, every time! Highly recommend a visit.

The world's smallest parmesan for 15 quid each! Hardly any chips. Left still Hungary. Was nice food just tiny portion. Wouldn't of filled my 12 year old daughter and couple next to us complaining also about the portion size. Staff were lovely shame bout size of the parmo

Had a sunday lunch today and unfortunately it was just horrid - one of the blandest things I've ever tasted, and it was about £17 each! Grey meat, bland vegetables and just really underwhelming. We've had a couple of nice evening meals here before today, but won't be back.

Had Sunday Lunch here - was so impressed with the incredibly efficient and professional service of the Manager/Owner, as well as the waiting staff. The food tasted like a wholesome and fresh home-cooked meal and the portions sizes were enormous. We will definitely be back for more!

Many years our previous visit but an extensive and very reasonably priced menu awaited. Food and service was exceptional and everything was excellent in every aspect

Had the litebite bellypork, black pudding, vegetables, roasts, mash and massive Yorkshire pudding with gravymade with cider and mustard. Was delicious, more than sufficient and reasonable price.

Whilst staying in the area we as a group visited for lunch. When we first walked through the doors we were greeted by a very warm welcoming lady who showed us to our seats. We ordered food which arrived approximately 15-20 mins later which is always a good sign as you know it has been freshly cooked and not reheated. I ordered a normal chicken parmo with hand cut chips. The parmo was nicely cooked and very succulent. The chips were as good as any I've tasted anywhere. The veggie lasagne I was informed was delicious also the burtree chicken dish with a mouthwatering sauce scored very highly by my wife's reckoning. It was also great to see a child's 3 course menu very well presented and priced. We had varied drinks from lager beer and wine all fine. We found all the staff absolutely fantastic very friendly and caring. This was a great experience for dining out and will be returning if we are in the area. Many thanks to all at The Burtree Inn

Food was nice. I had hot shot Parmo. Only issue i had was all the chilli's were positioned right in the middle of the Parmo and not spread around it. The pepperoni was fine. My wife had prawn Baguette. She enjoyed it. Staff friendly.

Spent an evening with two friends. All had good meals all chicken based with flavoursome sauce, with great chips and fantastic veg selection

Our Girls Christmas Meal 13/12/23 5* from start to finish. Warm welcome always from Andy. Table set nicely for Christmas. Staff give friendly courteous service no matter how busy. Food beautifully cooked & presented by chef great value for money. All through the meal service is 100% Well done once again Team at Burtree.

never fails to live up to high standard of food we only been in a big family group last few years for special ocassions and its always 100% for quality of food service by staff and price well done to all involved

Salmon in tomato bisque with shrimp. The salmon was poor, the sauce was slidified and shrimp rock hard. Whole meal less than lukewarm. To make matters worse, I ordered veg with it - expecting broccoli or peas - things that go with fish. I was served roast potatoes carrots swede and cabbage. Absolutely awful. I was in a group of 9, I never touched my veg and ate a couple of mouthfuls of the salmon. Your staff weren’t attentive and failed to notice or ask if everything was alright with our meals. Terrible experience.

Absolutely gorgeous Sunday lunch and the service was excellent, first time we’ve been but won’t be the last. We got sides because we’re greedy but was totally unnecessary because the standard portions were great for us and like i say we’re quite big eaters. 10/10

Only problem is that we are here for 2days break from York and would really love this pub to be our local with food at this level

WOW. Visiting the area and chose the bur tree inn, we were not disapointed. I had the pie, (fat man) and my wife had the beef dinner, the portions were large, beyond expectations. Both dishes were so tasty, We rank this pub/restaurant as the best value for money, the tastiest and in my top five of all places we have ever dined out at. We will go again even if we have to drive the 50miles to get there.

As always The Burtree never fails, I tend to have the same meal here as it is so good. The service is always friendly and consistent. The food is always good no matter when you go it is always the same! The Biscotti Cheesecake is £5.95 and worth every penny it is the best cheesecake I have ever had and comes With homemade toffee sauce. Served with vanilla ice cream. Love it here good meals decent price good service excellent!

We were a large party of adults and children and the meal was served quickly and efficiently. As usual the food was of a high standard and the staff were very welcoming. We can highly recommend Burtree Inn - it never disappoints.

Called in as we had been before and had a great meal, but, the service felt a bit business-like and felt a little rushed despite the place only having two other tables taken, tables reserved and areas cordoned off. The food came promptly, the wife ordered Shepard's pie, it was a little greasy and had gristle which put her off. I ordered a hot shot parmo, the betchemel sauce was thin and runny, I wouldn't say the meals were bad but certainly not up to the standard we had previously experienced.
