Cafe 104 in Redbridge

Good food, nice atmosphere (can get busy at times but it's a good café). Service is good, pricing is a bit more than a greasy spoon doing the same food but this is just nicer and classier. *Edit - a year from my first review, Prices have definitely shot up and the portions have become smaller... I recognise that things have gone up but when I can get a good quality 12 item full English for almost £5 less just a few minutes away, I can't justify recommending café 104 any more as a solid choice.*

Great spot just when you need it.

I have been coming to this cafe for years but recently have found the portion size has become smaller and price has gone up Today my nephew ordered 2 egg omelette and it came as per photo below more like two fried eggs The beans were in a small cup hardly two spoonfuls We ordered hot water with lemon and got charged The water was tap water that came out of a hot tap - how can they charge like this Very disappointed Spoke to manager on duty who says this is how it is

8 months pregnant and really craving lasagna and my husband got me one frkm here. Was piping hot and delicious! Will go in to try other menu items soon.

Very bad food, if I say bad I literally mean it, and the member of stuff are so unfriendly and unprofessional. I was waiting for the old lady to take my order 20 minutes….

Nice breakfast place tucked away off Barkingside high street. Staff is always welcoming and happy to serve you good food.

Food is really horrible, burger tastes like it’s microwaved and smoothie is too water based, I don’t feel fruits at all. The stuff is not friendly and they don’t treat customers right.

I have eaten here a few times. I thought I would take my friend for brunch. I ordered what I had before, this time very little on the plate in terms of what I had before. The presentation dreadful something from tescos (which I suspect ) wish I did and made myself. Overly priced for what I got. Both dishes we ordered were not up to standards, rather embarrassed and shocked to be honest truly disappointed. The service was rather unfriendly another shock. Sorry I have to be honest and not one to complain. I wish I mentioned to the manager. Should have gone to Connaught in Ilford excellent and cheaper more value and great atmosphere, lovely service. Or Maison Fraise Patisserie on Barkingside.

This is the worst cafe ever, the waiters are so unprofessional, especially the old lady wasn’t that friendly. Food doesn’t taste right, like it was just bought frozen and was heated up. I wouldn’t recommend this place. 🤮🤮🤮

Stopped by today and parked right outside with 1 hours free parking, order a set breakfast and was very nice indeed, also came with toast and a cup of tea.

A hidden gem! I haven't visited the Ilford/Newbury Park area in a long time, so having stopped there twice in 1 week, I needed to find a good cafe for a cuppa and a cake. Cafe 104 hit the spot completely. 100% would recommend for a quick order and good food, great service and fantastic atmosphere.

Always early and food is hot and tasty

We just discovered this little gem after years of living in Hainault. Spectacularly delicious all day breakfast menu. We went there today with our daughter since we were both off. Excellent service, perfect poached eggs, very nice staff. Value for money

I’ve only discovered this cafe last month and I have already been 3 times! I keep getting the breakfast fry up because it’s delicious and not greasy at all. The fried eggs are cooked perfectly, the sausage is a very good quality full of flavour, and everything tastes healthy and yummy! The fresh orange juice is perfect. I will forever come here for my future breakfast cafe days.

I ordered two set breakfasts that came both missing items including the roll that supposed to come with and they advertised free items for orders over 15 pound witch you do not receive

Excellent Mediterranean breakfast

I can't say enough good things about this cozy all-day breakfast cafe! The atmosphere is so inviting, and the customer service is top-notch - you feel like family from the moment you walk in. The menu is extensive with lots of options to choose from. The kitchen chefs truly work their magic because every dish I've tried has been absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing and tasty breakfast experience. Thank you to the dedicated team for always making my visits enjoyable!

Food came freezing cold all squashed together beans leaked everywhere bubble was complete mashed in with the mushrooms and egg complete disaster never order from here again that’s for sure and for £15 each breakfast is complete rip off considering the portion size and quality of the food itself.

Had simple bacon and avocado on toast with a lemon amd ginger tea and they were both so good! Some cafes tend to overthink recipes and ruin them but I was impressed. Fresh ingredients, cooked beautifully and tasty! The waitress daughter home from uni is friendly and polite..a joy!

Had an anazing Mediterranean breakfast there.

Good little cafe that does far more than breakfast. A good selection of burgers, wraps and deli sandwiches too. Good drink and coffee selection for those wanting an artisan coffee. There is also a separate kids menu choices for smaller appetites. Add it's a small place, can feel a little cramped. There are a few chairs outside though they seem to have been commandeered by the smoking gang on my visit. It seems to cater well for the slightly older crowd or maybe they are regulars who have been returning for years ... Prices are on the above average side and not on the cheap and cheerful greasy spoon range. Overall a nice cafe that's worth a return visit.

Was in the area due to an away football match. Excellent food , very fresh and brilliantly prepared, friendly staff and extremely quick service, will definitely revisit in the future even though we don't live in the area

Absolutely love this cafe. I travel from Ilford to Barkingside just to come here. The staff are so welcoming. They get to know your name (makes it more personal) ask how you are. Generally interested in you. Food is amazing. Such a variety your bound to find something you'd like. Not forgetting the really thought out decor and comfy chairs. Try it, you will come back for sure

Vegetable lasagne portion size for price very poor. Box filled with salad instead. Also lasagne was undercooked. Standards are definitely dropping.

Food is okay, bog standard breakfast. Was trying to work my way round the make your own breakfast but the waitress seemed a bit impatient. A bit small and cramped. Food came at a reasonable time. Smoothies were delicious and fresh. Food was average. They also offered halal options which was great

Clean presentable cafe. Polite service. I had the set 1 breakfast which was very nice. It tastes different to what is eaten at other standard cafes. The bread used for the toast is good quality. The only concern I have is that I wish the portion was a bit bigger, the dish that they put the beans in is only suitable for children. The beans can be added directly on the plate and maybe an extra sausage could be included.

I have been coming here for years but had not been in a long while. I had such a lovely lunch and the choice on the menu is great. I’m really happy I came back and will be coming more often.

Visited recently, waitress was really friendly and helpful in advising of halal options available from Menu. Food was freshly cooked to order and tasted delicious. Will definitely visit again in future.

Ordered the HALAL breakfast wrap. IT IS THE BEST WRAP I'VE EVER HAD. Perfect for breakfast/lunch. Most places make the breakfast wrap with fried eggs they use scrambled eggs and it's delicious. And lady on the phone was so patient and helpful

Delicious Remembrance Sunday brunch. Delicious breakfast and poached eggs, and asparagus on bubble and squeak. Very unusual to have both generous portions and very good food. Oh and did I forget the wonderful coffee and amazing service. Not been in many years but will be back. Thank you

My friend and I went in for brunch. The Shakshuka was delicious and the staff were very polite. We will definitely return.

Definitely worth the money I paid, staff always friendly. Today their card machine was causing problems (hence customers were told sorry cash only) but they managed to work around this to enable me (disabled customer) to pay by card instead of having to find a cash machine nearby.

Breakfast ordered but missing drinks. I do appreciate you are busy sometimes but annoying when one thing is missing especially when its a drink.

Friendly staff, good food with plenty choices, neatly placed in connection to the High Street, good ambience, with a few spaces to eat outside too. Always noted that it tended to be busy, which is a good sign. And always intended to visit over the years, but only finally did very recently. So good, that I had to go back a week later! Recommended!

My food was open, not happy about that. Brown paper bag had all tomatoe juice in it.. I will sooner go to cafe, and have a nice breakfast, then use delivery again.

Excellent espresso based coffees and super dessert pies, great location.

Three small panakes that could fit in the size of your hand - over £10. In Sainsury's for 49p for 6, which equates to 8p each compared with £3.33. Over inflated mark-up.

Nice cafe with a good selection of breakfast and lunch dishes also not forgetting the hot and cold beverage. Supporting the local business is essential.

Poached egg on toast had strong vinegar taste. Cooked breakfast had toast missing and arrived after chasing and near end of meal. Don’t think I’d rush to come back. Service was friendly.

Lorraine is absolutely fantastic! It’s now our weekly breakfast place. All the servers really make you feel comfortable and welcome, and of course food is amazing.

Food quality horrible. Items missing. Smoked salmon put over hot items, so arrived cooked. Black pudding tasted like it had been in the microwave, horrible metal taste
