We usually have either a bacon or bacon and egg sandwich or bacon and cream cheese bagel. They are really good. The staff are friendly and the place has a good outdoor atmosphere.

Positively the best place to catch the early morning sunshine. There's some lovely tables right on the promenade and you can look out across to the lighthouse. I love nothing more than a Nice cheap, no frills bacon butty and a coffee in the sunshine, any time if the year . Although just lately it's not the friendliest service with the new owners. It always seems to attract a huge amount of elderly people just sitting in the sun first thing on a morning. Always makes me chuckle! And of course a huge amount of dog walkers. You can walk round the bay on the sand when the tide is low and often when dolphins and seals are spotted along the coast its here that they come.

Fantastic hide out, but very well known coffee hut.. the couple who runs it are so friendly and always make time to chat to you.. the service is second to none and the hot drinks and food are fabulous.. seating area is perfectly situated to watch the sea waves and just chill out.. Pleasant, polite and professional business.. highly recommend..👍

Very nice pace plenty off seats. Dog friendly. Prices seem a bit high. But realy at the moment with the cost of living rises I might be unfair there. Nice walk to get here all in Al very good.

I love this part of sunderland I will always have the best memories here as a child playing in the rock pools with my brothers and sisters and our dad sat there watching us with his usual huge smile and a gigantic bag of food and pop for us. He would always rent a deckchair and sit there with a brew and watch us 5 kids run around just loving life. Not long before my dad passed away in 2016 me and my partner took him along here and i just sat and watched my dad remminice about these years and I sat there with a huge smile and I like to think that on that day my dad was loving his life. I really hope so .

I absolutely love Gary’s kiosk. It’s like you step off the busy world for a short while. A bacon sandwich, a coffee and a sit on the benches is such a great way to spend some alone time.

Lovely sun trap,got amazing bacon and egg sarnie,cup of tea from the little kiosk at the bottom,and a seat watching the sea. Perfect.

Thanks to the headlands on either side this is a relatively secluded beach, and the cliffs above shelter it from the wind. It can be accessed from the Seaburn end by the promenade, and at low tide from the Roker Park end by the beach. There are also the eponymous cat and dog steps, a set of rather precipitous cliff steps (not to be taken lightly) for those in a hurry. At high tide beware, it's easy to find yourself cut off and facing an undignified plodge at high tide.

Perfect place and the best views in Sunderland. Gary and the girls working on the cafe are brilliant.

Nice little place to stop off for a drink or a snack when on a walk along the prom they even have a water bowl for dogs 👍👍

Fabulous beach and so clean. Little hut does lovely tea and bacon/sausage/egg butties. Shielded from the wind at cat and dog steps we spenth a lovely afternoon here.

These steps lead to a fantastic beach and are also great for excercise. Run up and down these ten times and you know about it.

Good for a quick coffee stop. The seagulls try to nick ya chips etc. Lovely view of the beach. Staff are friendly. If there aren't any tables available then there are some benches a bit further along.
