Cafe India in Weymouth and Portland

Just dished up my lamb main. The meat is so tough and gristly I cannot get my teeth thru it. Huge great chunks. Very disappointed

Just had 2 curry's and snacks from cafe India Weymouth and it was excellent definitely recommend them.we had tropical chicken korma beautiful taste and a chicken madras also lovely

My first ever experience with Cafe India. My order was delivered piping hot,absolutely delicious and generous portions. Friendly courier. Will definitely treat myself again soon.

Hard to explain what the taste is like, as taste like tinned or Jared food mixed with chicken. No deep taste to the food and a jar from Asda would do the same. Every take away should have a second chance, but I don’t want to waist the money. You can tell by the chopped veg that it come from a bag, and that the dips are not fresh. Like everything try its once, as we all have different taste. But if your into Currys then don’t try it 👍

Just a heads up. We thought we would try Cafe India again after Wahid left. BUT you are no longer allowed to take your own alcohol. So we didn’t stop. Came home and ordered in instead!!

Terrible service, rude staff , over booked . NO FOOD 😞We booked a table for 35 people, the whole venue sits 42. We went in several times before hand with all food orders and payed most of the money in cash upfront which they asked for . We arrived on time to see another party of 16 people already in there . We were then squashed into tables with no room to breath or put our arms out . Not a good start . We then started receiving some rice at 8.30 followed by naan bread at 9.00 and just under half the curry’s started coming out just after 10.00 by then at least 10 of our party had walked out to find food somewhere else. At least 10 people never received any food at all . When we tried to complain the staff were very rude and stayed shouting at us , very aggressive behaviour. I really wish we had not payed them any money in advance , there our some lovely curry houses I. Weymouth . Weymouth tandoori, the bati house, chills , this is not a good one as locals we will never go back.

Spent the next day on the toilet. Happy Easter Cafe India. 🤢

Lovely food, as always but I almost missed the delivery as I wasn’t expecting it so early. This wasn’t a problem and I’ll definitely order again.

The curry had curdled for two that we ordered and the nan bread was burnt and crispy (not just a little charred). Won’t order again

Fantastic food, highly recommend the chilli garlic chicken with mushroom rice.

This was the worst meal we have had from here. The plate was full of water, the curries had no flavour and the onion bhajis, nan and sag aloo were overcooked. Went in the bin!!

Worst chicken Bhuna I’ve ever had, no flavour, no gravy, dry and tasteless. My partner left her dish too. Very disappointed.

Very nice service, delicious food, but the restaurant inside needs some renovation or refreshment. Currently, I am not encouraged to sit and eat inside. I highly recommend takeaway food, it tastes really, really good

Perfect food but the room is a bit cold in the winter. Bring your own drinks and a warm jumper!

Not packaged well, lid came off the madras, leaked everywhere. Only half left. Food cold by the time we had cleaned up and then ate. Gutted

This was not up to the usual fantastic standard of cafe India. The spicy dishes were lacking in spice and some essential ingredients. Three of the dishes were not as ordered.

Had to phone restaurant after an hour and a half to be told our order would be delivered in five minutes. Fifteen minutes later it turned up. Food was very bland and the chips I had ordered weren’t delivered, unfortunately couldn’t phone the restaurant as they had closed. Won’t order from them again.

Unfortunately the rice wasn't with the order. Not much chicken in the curry. Everything tasted lovely

Prawn starter was just batter,greasy and tasteless. The chicken had a odd texture and overall nothing had much taste.

My most favourite Indian restaurant in Weymouth 😍

Always go to Cafe India when staying in Weymouth as we have tried most of the other Indian restaurants and they can’t beat this one. On a 2 week holiday and have already eaten there twice in the first week. Yes it is that good and everything is cooked fresh, so be prepared to wait for the food. Don’t forget to take your own alcohol as they are not licensed but are happy to provide drinking glasses. (There is a small supermarket just down the road, staff will tell you where it is.) We will go again next week but will try to keep it to one more visit.☹️

I wouldn’t even give it a 1 star but didn’t have the option Booked a table came in and was greeted by a very dirty table old table covers with food stains, complained and moved us to a new table to be very same dirty cutlery and table cloths My children refused to sit and eat so we got up and left Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t even get that far to order

Children’s curry - for 2nd time ordered chicken and it turned up as lamb. I ordered chicken tikka madras and normal chicken turned up - didn’t bother complaining as son needed to eat and couldn’t wait for new order to turn up

Lamb Tikka Biryani was amazing, best iv ever eaten very delicious 💯 Sadly let down by the Butterfly King Prawn, it was overpowered by the thick breadcrumb coating which was not cooked on the inside and soggy so literally wasted as not edible 😢 I did notice while waiting they were cleaning in-between orders which is very good 👍

Unfortunately the korma came with lamb instead of chicken, so my fussy daughter wouldn’t eat it! The rest was lovely though!

Unfortunately I ordered chicken and got lamb. The box had also been incorrectly labelled as chicken so not quite sure how that happened. My dish was also described as medium but had no heat whatsoever (coming from someone quite sensitive to spice)

Missing rice and naan bread .phoned the restaurant just to be told we can have these items free next time .what good is korma with no rice or bread ? Pointless obviously too busy and shouldn't be on just eat if can't keep up with orders .diner now in the bin .biggest waste of 40 quid and off down the chip shop

Food was freshly prepared and nice presented. Be aware that you will need to bring your own alcoholic beverages as there is no licence.

Korma and makhoni was delicious and so was the breads like always. But the masala tasted powdery and there was very limited chicken in there so was basically a whole pot of sauce and 4/5 small bits of chicken. Will definitely order from here again as the quality is a lot better than most Indians in Weymouth but the masala needs to be better like the other curries are standard wise, won’t order this again.

Not a complaint, just some feedback. I ordered the chicken tikka saag and keema rice, both were really tasteless. It could of done with some more flavour.

Ordered a chicken tikka bhuna and for the 2nd time got a plain chicken one. Once is annoying twice is the line. Shame because this used to be my go to curry house. I won't be back after this time.

Really disappointed with our meal tonight. We always order from Cafe India and usually love the food but tonight things were below par. The meat was fatty and tough, the naan was very over cooked and the sag paneer was very stodgy

I had about 4 prices of chicken in my curry which was so dry I couldn't eat it, the sauce tasted powdery and just really horrible and the rice wasn't great either, really not happy with the food at all

Booked a table for two, went in, sat down, the waiter spoke far too fast for us to understand him, then walked away. I noticed the side plate was covered in greasy fingerprints, so I asked him to bring me a clean one, he snatched it away, no apology, brought us glasses for our drinks which were in the same state as the side plate. At that point, we got up and walked out before ordering. Don’t bother, the staff don’t care and the utensils aren’t clean. Too risky.

i had a childs bhuna and was lovely but my husband had a rogan josh but said it had no heat to it lots of tomato but defo wasnt hot enough for him,needs more spice

We have been to this restaurant before but never had a take away,the site was very easy to use ,the meal arrived 10 minutes before stated time,well presented , nice and hot , and just as good as if we had gone to the restaurant I would recommend Cafe India to anyone well done

Madras was GREASY! Bombay potato had no flavour and the potatoes were rubbery. Garlic butter tasted burnt. Honestly probably the worst Indian I’ve had. Won’t be going back here again.

Very disappointed! We have used this take away multiple times and never had a problem. But we ordered last night and it’s put me off. Firstly the mushroom rice was only about half full and not many mushrooms. The chicken tikka masala, the chicken dhansak was nice. Hubby liked the chickpea rice. The aubergine dish was onion,chunks of aubergine and oil. It was like no care and attention was given to the meal at all. I have been awake all night with stomach pain and a upset tummy. The only other thing I ate yesterday was toast as I was looking forward to an Indian feast…

Naan was slightly burnt on the edges, but had loads of garlic which I love. mushroom rice was just over half full, aubergine dish was full of oil. Apart from that meal was lovely.

Previously used cafe India on a regular basis til we moved. Thought we would try it again. Didn't live up to our memories of it. Food was nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Delivery time changed from half an hour to an hour, food was nice but not enough sauce and paid nearly 6 pound for mixed kebab and what turned up was 5 small pieces of meat wasn’t impressed for 6 pound

Really great curry. We'd eaten in a few years ago and enjoyed it. Tonight we had a take away and it was exceptional. We're pescatarian. Our starters we're Onion bhaji and veg samosa - lovely. Main was King prawn Salli (Yum), Chana Bhuna (exceptional) Sag aloo (ok) rice and naan. Very happy friendly staff. Go and try it
