Cafe Mona in Southwark

Absolutely delightful little cafe! Delicious ham and cheese croissant and chai latte and the apple pie was AMAZING 🤩

My friend Kim and I pop in here each week for tea and cake. There is always a gluten free option and I am a big fan of the chocolate and pear cake. Our favourite part though is catching up with the lovely staff and having a chat. Always so friendly and welcoming and one of our favourite Camberwell corners ♥️

Very good service, clean space, perfect food, the only one in the area that we felt like family near them and very good prices.

I’ve given this place multiple chances and while they offer a wide menu, I’ve been disappointed with the staleness of the food each time

Much better place than all the other popular coffee shops such as Irene and Lumberjack that gets packed with people and don’t even have proper wifi. This place is good, owners are lovely and great selection of food.

Great simple and healthy food. I had quiche with four salads and it was delicious. Took some cakes away for later. Reasonable prices, nice staff, I'd recommend this cafe and will visit again if I'm in the area.

Used to go regularly. Had a pastry once that tasted off and only got an apology and reassurance it was made the same day. Most cafes would be reasonable enough to either give you your money back or offer something else on the house as a goodwill gesture. But I just got a black stare and was out my £4.50 Put it aside and continued going since it’s local and a small business and from there stuck to simple coffee based drinks, still nothing special. What tipped it over the edge for me was getting a tea latte that was really poor quality and too sweet and when I asked to be made another or something else the barista simply diluted it. It was already undrinkable, then made worse. I was really nice about it, simply requested and didn’t kick up a fuss but in the end she looked irritated that I even asked. I still paid for the drink, of which I didn’t even have more than 3 sips. For £3, as a service, and for a repeat customer why not remake or offer something else? It’s quite simple math that you could more easily encourage long term business. Not worth it when there are other options in the area.

Quiet, relaxing and fantastic quiche & salad lunches, not to mention all the great cakes and pastries. My favourite Camberwell coffee shop. Highly recommended.

So glad I popped in here just when I was passing, got the falafel focaccia and raspberry coconut meringue cake (doesn't actually have meringue init) and both were so delicious. Especially the cake. Gonna go back and try more! The staff were really nice too.

Awful sandwich.. ordered a chicken escalope only to find the chicken was processed, it very well could of been a turkey dinosaur. Also the lid to my hot drink didn’t fit and I scolded my hand walking home. The place was empty at lunch time.. should of known.

Brilliant place and ambience. One of the best coffees you can have in London. Impressive salads and cakes. I am having coffee and lunch every day at Cafe Mona, and I find different surprises. I fully recommend it!

Great coffee, friendly staff and very nice cakes

I work for the ambulance service and the staff in there are always welcoming and always ask me how my day was. They remember my order for me. They do the best ham and cheese croissants

Pleasant cafe with friendly owners but awful coffee

It was a good surprise to learn this previous cafe that closed months ago is now open again under different owner. Their cakes are all so yummy and baked by the owner in the premises as far as I know. One of my faves is their fruit flans. My nephew loves them too. Hubby likes all of them so you can get him any he'll be happy. Their toasted sandwiches are all good too esp the bread itself. I like my coffee extra hot which some places still make as lukwarm, yes, it is extra hot when it comes to me and that makes me happy. Sitting outside is a bonus on a sunny/dry day as the tree opposite gives enough shade. The owner will have time to answer your questions you might have about their wares... their prices are very attractive too!

Amazing cafe with fresh veggies, pastries, and amazing salads. The only place you can get fresh a fresh filling salad and veg for a decent price. Ask for the lunchbox deal! Highly recommended!!

My go to place for a good oat iced latte, and delicious cakes & pastries! The inside of the cafe has cozy, and relaxing vibe. The food is very tasty (generous portions)! Love it ☕❣️
