Lovely cafe. Stopped here for tea and cake after a walk. Staff were friendly, food and drinks were excellent. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Really shocked at the level of service we received yesterday. Visited with our 10 month old baby. Ordered a breakfast and a beans on toast to be told it was a half an hour wait, no problem sat outside it was a lovely day. After an hour wait we went back in to find where our food was to be told it was a further 20 minute wait (they hadn't started making it) & that we could have a refund if we wanted. I asked for a refund as we simply couldn't expect our baby to wait longer. They told us they would only refund the food and not the drinks as we had drunk them. Yes we drank them an hour ago while waiting for our breakfast. Eventually they did refund the whole order which I was grateful for but having ruined our morning out & then had to argue for a full refund it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Had someone come out after 30 mins after our order and let us know that they were completely running behind and perhaps offered us a complimentary drink the whole situation could have been handled differently. I didn't think in this day and age people could offer such shoddy service.

It's difficult to get there by disability scooter. Plenty of parking on the Messingham Road but no kerb drop. Best to approach along the beck from St Peter's Church. I like a cream tea and the scones are home made and beautiful. It's order at till but they're very happy to accommodate you at the table if disabled. Very dog friendly indeed. Lots of brunch options if you're looking for a meal. It's tight to get around in there but tbh that's its popularity.

Visited this 'lovely' cafe today for breakfast. Nice surroundings, nice staff, BUT, the food was shocking, had to send food back several times to be cooked properly, snotty eggs, menu said bloomer but ended up with very thin normal bread until complained then brought out bloomer. Other visitors were doing the same, seemed to be more food going back then coming out.

Lovely little cafe at the half way point of our Bottesford Beck walk. Modern and nice and clean. Good coffee and freshly baked warm scones were lovely. Pleasant staff. Good for breakfast, lunch at just snacks.

The coffee was wonderful, the problem was the noise. When the cafe is full it is very noisy. It didn't help that there were two very loud screaming children with their laughing grandparents.

This place is a nice little place for a snack and a drink after a walk along the Beck path. Cozy and small inside, staff are friendly and the cake is fantastic. There are cooked breakfasts and sandwiches on offer which I will definitely try another time.

Visited this place for the first time today. It was bustling with customers. Ordered a full brekkie, and despite every table being taken, service was swift and polite. The bacon rashers and sausages were of good quality, and the whole breakfast was very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were polite and attentive. Cannot fault.

Second stay here. Lovely place. Very good quality room at a very good price. Staff obviously busy, it being Christmas period, but helpful. Room large and warm. Clean and tidy. Great looking location, outside courtyard is soooo Dickensian! Very photogenic. If you're looking for something different and quaint this is the place. Was easy to get to Yorkshire Wildlife park from there, also not far to York city, Sheffield centre etc. Well worth it.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Black Bull in East Holton, and I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The pub itself is charming, and I especially appreciated the dedicated restaurant area. It was quiet and peaceful, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The Christmas decorations added a lovely festive touch, making the experience even more special. Now, let's talk about the food – absolutely incredible! Every dish was freshly prepared with obvious care and attention to detail. The flavors were fantastic, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. It's clear that The Black Bull takes pride in serving delicious, home-cooked food. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at The Black Bull. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and outstanding food make it a must-visit. Whether you're looking for a festive meal or simply a delicious dinner in a welcoming pub, The Black Bull is an excellent choice.
