Cafe rlite in Harlow

I have eaten here many times before. The food has always been nice enough, with decent portions. They have added a front porch area, which opens up on both sides. This is for smokers, who can now have a drink or meal undercover, not a bad idea. Today, our experience was not a good one. The waiter who served us was pleasant enough, very friendly. The food was bought to our table in good time. However, they got my order wrong. Not a problem. It happens sometimes. In fact, whilst we were there, it happened to two other tables as well! When they did bring the correct meals to our table, it was obvious that they had left my wife’s meal sitting to one side whilst preparing mine. She noted that her food had cooled down somewhat. However, she tucked in and was still enjoying her meal - until she found a hair that did not belong to either of us! She couldn’t eat any more and it also put me off the rest of my food. The bill came to £17 for a breakfast, burger & chips, tea & can of coke. As we left, we walked through the porch area. We noted that the sides were still closed, leaving the porch area fully enclosed. There were used ashtrays on the empty tables. The smell was not pleasant. It also answered the question of why the cafe had smelled of smoke. My wife and I decided that this would be our last visit to Cafe Elite.

Prices gone up portions gone down for what they charge the size of portions are a joke mushrooms non existant bacon smallest rashers and a kid size portion of chips on a meal that cost 8 quid .been to other cafes where prices cheaper and portions bigger will not go there again

My wife went in today with my daughter and granddaughter asked for toast for little one and turned up burnt then my daughter asked for a melted cheese and ham baguette and got us with cheese not even melted asked the lady about it who didn’t understand her then took it back to put in microwave to melt cheese but came back only little bit cheese so my daughter sat there and took the cheese out my wife and I always go in this cafe weekly but now we will be changing cafes very poor service

We went with my kid first impression I see so dirty but ones we was in any way guy come to take our order he was Wearing light blue t shirt but because of dirty it’s was colour full so still okay we ordered some breakfast tea cups ☕️ Think about it Lady before drinking tee had nice pink lipstick they didn’t wash even cups so Disgusting and I want leave but my wife stop me disgusting place ever I see

Top notch nosh, very friendly staff, nice coffee. Definitely would go back. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal in Harlow.

Got shouted at down the phone for asking where my food was after 2 hours. Never received it. Awful will never order again.

We ordered two shepherds pies with veg, and although the food quality was acceptable, the vegetables were not fully cooked, and the portions were very small. We were charged £7.50 for each meal and did comment to the staff about our experience.
