Caffe Casbah in Bromley

We had a very tasty and reasonable breakfast. My partner had the full size option and I had the smaller size which was still ample. Its perfect for if you're staying at the Travelodge. We also had lunch there. Lots of options and again really tasty. Lovely welcoming staff too.

My favourite cafe to go to, friendly owners, generous portions and good prices. Really tasty food and a lot of cakes homemade by owner’s wife

We stopped by for breakfast, and were warmly welcomed, The vegetarian breakfasts we ordered arrived quickly and were both good and plentiful; the coffee was excellent. We'll certainly go back to try one the the Algerian tagine dishes.

Last week my wife and I were in Penge West for a wedding. We dropped into Cafe Casbah in the morning for coffee and croissants. We got a warm welcome from the lady and gentleman there. The Italian coffee was excellent and the croissants tasty. Five of us went back the following morning for a full English breakfast. This was top class and excellent value. This is a warm and friendly place. It is spotless clean and I would highly recommend it.

I thought it was just a coffee shop and as I don't drink coffee i have never been before. Today (in hindsight was a blessing) the heavens opened just as i was walking past and i sheltered myself from the rain only to see people eating from a tagine pot. i entered and from that moment I was hooked. i ordered the lamb tagine, which is huge (had to ask for a takewaway container) and the food was soooooo good. The service was great- the staff are so friendly. Now my favourite place in Penge to eat.

I've walked past hundreds of times and being honest, hadn't thought it looked all that inviting. But having read some positive reviews on a local Facebook group, decided to give it a go. The menu has some lovely sounding salads, sandwiches and hot dishes but their speciality is a tagine, so both my husband and I went for a lamb tagine. We were SO impressed! The tagine is around £8/9 I think and excellent value, with a full lamb shank and delicious couscous. We both love a tagine and have holidayed in Morocco a few times and this really is up there with the best! We'll be back... Many times!

This cafe is so lovely I've been going there for years its very family friendly. The owners and staff are helpful, friendly and very accommodating. The food is amazing!

I've been to Caffe Casbah numerous times when I come to Penge to visit my mum. We usually pop in for a coffee and breakfast, although last time I decided to go in for lunch, and I was in for a yummy experience. I ordered the lamb tagine and was not expecting the huge meal that arrived a few minutes later. The lamb was cooked to perfection and was falling off the bone. The sauce was tasty, with the right consistency. There is a choice of couscous or potatoes, and I chose the former. If you like it extra spicy then you just have to ask for the harrisa sauce. Honestly, I needed someone to share this meal with because the portion was enormous. I ordered the mint tea, which comes in a quirky pot with sprigs of fresh mint to mash around. I've had their coffee on other occasions, it's strong and freshly made. There is a constant flow of locals passing through Caffe Casbah's doors, and that, in itself, speaks to the friendly welcome proffered by the Algerian owners and the reasonably priced, tasty food and drinks available.

This little restaurant looks basic but offers very good tagines, salads and sandwiches. The food is tasty, and the service is friendly And attentive. The crowd is mixed in the best sense of multicultural London,

My husband and I have been coming here for lunch for the last couple of years and the food and service has never failed to be excellent. The fish tagine is definitely one of my favourite all time meals!

I came here for a light lunch but the portions almost beat me! I don't bother with the breakfast menu as the menu proper has some awesome dishes both salads and hot. The owner and staff are really helpful and friendly. The prices are very reasonable.

I had the lamb tagine and it was amazing. The staff wete very attentive and friendly. Such a nice place to sit and watch the world go by. I will definitely return.

Nice to find an independent cafe in the centre of Penge open on Bank holiday Monday. Enjoyed the expresso with a good sized piece of carrot cake. Friendly service too.

A small friendly restaurant - we were given a warm welcome on our first visit here. I had an omelette which was good and my husband a chicken tagine which was very good. I had no idea that is served tagines and thought it was only a coffee shop so was pleasantly surprised.

Coffee great, fresh mint tea fantastic, little cakes are delicious. Paintings on the walls are all by local artists, all in all a lovely place.

Despite going up and Penge high street for various odds and ends, I managed to be completely oblivious to this place. Except one day I was walking and happened to (finally) notice people sitting outside, enjoying cups of coffee and the accompanying cigarette in a very continental manner.Intrigued, I walked in and I was greeted very warmly by gentlemen with exotic accents.I ordered a cup of tea immediately.I engaged in lovely conversation and promised I would be back - and I have been back a good few times since then. The meals are hearty, homely and easy on the pockets.A very nice twist on the Full English for those of us that do not eat porkAll in all, a happy serendipitous find.
