Lovely pub with surprisingly good food.

The Pizza's are exceptional. They are great in taste, size and price (a bargain). You MUST combine them with a beer from tap. And of course have ice cream afterwards. We went there on Saturday evening, when they had great 80's music on the speakers.

Went at lunchtime had a very nice cold pint £3:90 Tennant's, only customer at this time Landlord watching The Sweeney a lovely 30 minute stay, will go back when busier.

Lovely couple who own the pub. We didn't eat anything, but the pizzas looked great, nice background music and prices seemed good too

Had this place on my doorstep for seven months. A warm welcome. The staff make you feel right at home. Great pub with one of the best pints of Guinness outside of St James's Gate. You dont need to travel to Italy to taste an authentic pizza. It's a gem and well worth a visit. Keep it up Caly x

Famous in Montrose for its pizzas (only items on the menu) great selection of draft beers and spirits. Is worth phoning ahead as the kitchen is only open certain days.

Great local pub. No Cask Ales. Worth a visit.

Incredible Pizza. Montrose doesn't know how lucky it is. I met an Italian last year who explained to me the difference with Neapolitan Pizza dough. The chef apparently has been trained in Florence and the results speak for themselves. Truly excellent pizza.

A really nice, well-managed bar with very friendly staff. The tap beer is excellent, and the homemade pizzas are a bit of a bargain and certainly not to be missed. Highly recommended!

Has the be the cleanest pub in Montrose. Great Pizza great staff.

Went here for there Casters 2 for 1 pizza night. Wow blown away. Pizzas were incredible. Garlic dip so tasty. Will be back

Stayed literally over the road from this place for work while in Montrose . Nice relaxed atmosphere, spotlessly clean, very friendly staff and great music playing. Give it a go if your on the area.

Great pint of Tennents Lager, staff friendly so where the customers, only problem I had was when me and my wife walked in the establishment my wife was told that they didn't except exemption cards or certificates from the government for Covid. My wife has health problems so was told she had to wear a mask.

We had regularly visited the Caledonian while in the area, and so had been dismayed to see it vanish from the Good Beer Guide. However, all is well! The new owners have injected some new life into the place while keeping all of the best qualities of it's old self. The food is excellent - far better than you might expect to find if you judged the place on its outside - and well worth travelling to sample because it's good value for money. The real ale is well kept and there's a good selection of local malt whiskies and craft gins.

Classic boozer.... lovely bar ...well looked after beer, seem to give free nibbles out Friday tea time. I like it.

Long time.. But was pleasant retreat today.

Good local place close to the port.

pequeña calle secundaria boozer decente, con un montón de gente y clientes habituales. El deporte principal parece estar viendo los principiantes (como nosotros) se pierda el paso entre la parte superior del bar y la parte inferior. Hacía tanto de nosotros en el camino; por suerte me atrajo la mujer antes de caer. Un poco mejor marcado sería agradable gracias gestión, pero que podría reducir el entretenimiento. Entra por la puerta de la esquina para evitar pratfalls. Lagers habituales, Guinness y Keg John Smiths. había ale.

No muy lejos de los muelles en Ferry Street, Montrose este pub no ha cambiado mucho desde mi primera visita hace unos 40 años. Tiene una carga de objetos náuticos alrededor del bar y es un lugar muy acogedor para visitar. Tenía una buena pinta de Caledonian mejor y algunos bocadillos.
