Great Friday Night Meal with Friends Norman, Norman, Norman, Norman you said I would like it you were wrong I LOVED IT. Great Service, Great Great Food, and Just a lovely calm dining experience with four friends a real taste of Turkey. Food was promised to be the 'best' by Manager Jan when we sat down and he wasn't lying. Three of us shared the Family Platter lovely juicy Lamb Chops, Pork Ribs that were succelent, Beautifully cooked Lamb Shish, and Chicken that was lovely and just not dry at all. All onto of well cooked fries and fragant rice, it was filling but we couldnt stop diving in. Our friends had different to us one had Shish and Chips with a fresh vibrant salad, and another Halloumi Wrap ..her words Gorgeous. A glass of the wonderful EFES (or two)Beer was welcome. There is a full menu lots of choice and cater for all tastes. Service by young lady (sorry we didnt get your name ) was polite ,professional and patient...as we took our time to decide ...thank you two for holding the door open for us when we left...its the little bits that make you come back and appreciate good service. The chefs/cooks are within view and they work hard at making sure your meal is excellent. Starters of lovely turkish bread and a selection of beautiful dips(chilli one WOW) and Olives. All in all great value a great way tro share a meal with friends and friendily welcoming staff in a clean, well run resturants, oh by the way the toilets are clean and hygenic. We will return as a family, a couple, or with friends. Great Night out THANK YOU GOLDEN SKEWER !

Went for lunch with my wife and aunt. Were the first one's in so didn't really need to have booked. Had a choice of seating. They'd only just opened so it took a while to warm up but eventually it was comfortable. Reasonable if not exceptionally long menu but had everything you'd expect from a Turkish restaurant. Given we were the only ones there I would say the service was excellent 👌🏾. Food was freshly made and everything including drinks on point. Only minor let down was that they'd run out of Merlot for our aunt but the house red was pretty good by way of replacement. One thing to note is that they obviously allow a takeaway and delivery service, so be aware that there may be some foot traffic. That said it's a nice, well appointed eaterie and worth a visit for sure. Oh and they portion sizes are good. Don't be afraid to ask for a doggie bag; they will happily box up your leftovers.

Went there today for my Father in laws 80th. They pulled out all the stops for the family. Played our soundtrack had ballon’s on the table. Food was amazing as was the service. Can’t wait to go back.

Love this restaurant, so friendly and attentive but I can honestly say they do the most amazing lamb dishes you could eat! The lamb chops are out of this world! It’s also spotless clean. It’s currently cash only but there’s a cash point next door! If you want to dine in or take away you will not be disappointed GO!

I cannot recommend the Golden Skewer enough. The food is always exceptional and very good value. We feel very lucky to have such great restaurant on our doorstep.

We often order the Golden Platter and it is really value. The selection in the platter is brilliant and incredibly tasty. The team at the restaurant are so lovely and friendly. I highly recommend the Golden Skewer

Lovely takeaway last night. First time we've gone there. All freshly cooked and was delicious! Will be back in the future I am sure!

Five of us had starters and main courses, all of which were really well presented and delicious. The service and attention to detail was excellent. We travelled from outside the area to visit friends but would certainly go there again when up that way.

I have visited the Golden Skewer many times as we live in the area. The staff here are always friendly, food freshly cooked to perfection and at decent prices too! Over the years we have got to know Yan and his family well and I can honestly say they are very friendly, professional people who take pride in their business and making sure their customers are always looked after. If you're looking for great authentic Turkish food at reasonable prices in nice chilled surroundings then give this restaurant a go. You won't be disappointed.

To say the lamb chops were amazing is an understatement! My family really enjoyed their choice of food too, great service and great atmosphere, so fortunate to have this restaurant within walking distance of my home, we will defo be back! Thank you 😊

We ate in and we thought it was absolutely delicious !!! Amazing staff members who are very friendly and approachable.

First time order and we were really impressed. Ordered the family platter and the portions were far larger than expected. Absolutely delicious food. Also received giant tubs of lovely sauces, gorgeous flatbreads, tasty rice and a big salad. We ate it as a family of five constantly smiling at each other at the deliciousness. It’s a hefty price but the quality and portion sizes easily justify it. Trust me, if you haven’t already ordered from these guys, do it because their lamb kebabs are amazing! Will definitely be ordering again!

Informed the food was ready but this wasn’t the case. Got the food home and the kofte was like a lump of rubber and there was no rice like it states. Also asked for extra garlic sauce in the comments and the restaurant but completely ignored that.

Lamb chops and chicken wings were very tasty. I asked bulgur instead of rice but get mix (rice and bulgur). And another chicken was a bit dry. But salad and sauce was good. Delivery was on time.

Good food but small portions that are not really worth the money. A large chips is really the same size as a standard McDonalds portion.

The chicken burger was a mere tiny burger in a bun, no lettuce, no sauce, no Nothing. The chips were so so soggy and tasteless and the lamb beyti was not a lamb beyti at all but a kofte. Terrible terrible meal.

Ordered three lamb shish and other items. Came to £68 delivery one hour wait Lamb was so tough we could hardly eat it Salad and rice very small. So disappointed as birthday celebration. Not at all like it used to be. Rang to let them know in case they had a dodgie batch of lamb But they were not interested. Avoid lamb shish at £14 much more expensive than it should be and unedible.

Unfortunately the food quality is not the same.. I’ve ordered hummus & aubergine for starters and mixed grill for the main. Hummus was great, aubergine was smelly I think the tomato sauce is out of date and went to bin straight away. Meat quality was very very poor, chicken was burnt and lamb was terrible like a dry stone.. and in the end I’m still hungry:( I don’t think I’ll order anything soon from them, guys please bring back the old days…..

Part of the order missing, saksuka, which is my favourite, still charged for it. The feta and spinach sigara boregi didn’t have any feta or spinach in it. It was literally hollow tubes. Not even remnants of a filling that was once inside. They must have been made with no filling. The rest was fine.

Great food, we often get the Golden platter which is such good value for what you get. Always great service too. Highly recommend the Golden Skewer.

Not bad. Downhill since it changed from Cains, food is OK but not like it used to be. Also, I'm personally not a fan of anywhere that tries to make you pay cash... There are better options locally.

FOOD IS AMAZING! However, we ordered the family plater which only had one portion of chips and not much more salad. I wonder if anything got left off our order? If not, definitely not enough chips and salad for a family!

Еда вся вкусная, белый соус это просто пушка, барашка обалденная, без единого запаха, любое блюдо которые бы вы здесь не заказали будет вам по вкусу 👍👍👍 Обслуживание всегда на высшем уровне! Единственное, столик нужно бронировать заранее!!! Но для меня это плюс, а не минус)) ведь мы не одни))) Всегда заранее бронируем столик и получаем кайф))) как от блюд, так от атмосферы заведения!!! Кстати, цены здесь очень приятные!!!! Самый вкусный шашлык здесь!!!! Всем рекомендую 👍

Having been a loyal customer of Canns and golden Skewer for years it saddens me to give a negative review. My daughter chose to have her birthday meal delivered from the golden Skewer last night. The meal arrived 45 minutes later than expected and over 90 minutes after we ordered. The food was cold and the lamb was dry and tough, I was unable to eat it. Had we been advised that they had delivery problems, we would have gladly collected. Such a shame.

Meeting up with a group of friends we enjoyed a lovely Turkish meal. The food was hot, tasty and brought with a smile from the young girl who attended to us. I have been to this restaurant several times and always the food has not disappointed. Shall be returning again.

There were three items on order, two starters and a main. One starter was a really tiny portion The other starter was good Struggled to detect meat in the "main" The main turned out to be mainly sauce with hardly any meat.... not what I'd expect for the price.
