Canton Chinese Takeaway in Wealden

I would give a zero star review if possible. Ordered online at 6pm for a delivery 8.10-8.30. It is now 21.40 and nothing. Can’t get through on the phone, and no response to messages sent on app. Will definitely not be using them in 2025!!!!

Ordered chicken fried rice but it’s clearly really fatty pork not chicken. Bland rice with now soy and no seasoning. Shredded beef was reasonable but defiantly not the best.

Expensive, cold, not cooked properly.

Good food, simple basic British Chinese. Very popular so can get busy and delays happen. It’s all cooked to order so fair enough. Basic seats in waiting area. Good delivery drivers.

Ordered and and hour and half later promised ten minutes away now twenty minutes after this no sign of food. Wish we had just stuck with our normally reliable restaurant. UPDATE. Food was lovely. Just ordered food for delivery turned up 1 hour before delivery slot booked and people arriving. commented to driver too early ran away laughing. called shop not interested and reply, well we don't look at delivery times... Well worth steering clear of this place.

Food is always of an excellent standard. I have Chinese takeaways nearer to me but Canton is worth the drive. Thanks guys.

Amazing food and always my go to Chinese in uckfield

Clean, freshly painted shop with comfortable chairs. They accepted card payments, which is always reassuring. Food was better quality than other takeaways and for the same price. Very good!

Best Chinese in town, and we've tried them all! We keep going back here. We always take out, then the food is ready quite quickly

It's okay, some of the dishes I find a bit watery. Don't like a Chinese when you spend over £40 and don't get a free bag of prawn crackers....

Delivery was over a hour late than time slot I booked. Phoned and was told this only s estimated time. Why have time slots. Food was cold and portion sizes very small compared to other Chinese I have used in past in uckfield.

So after maybe using this Chinese more than 4 times in 6 months I can honestly say don't waste your money. Tonight's meal was above the worst take away I have ever had everything tasted of chilli everything. It was disgusting. The rice was like glue. The rest just wamn and all tasted the same it went in the bin. We have complained before and nothing is done. So don't waste your breath or your money. There are much better take aways in and around Uckfield and Crowborough offering a far better service with food that is what you order our dinner is in the bin it was so bad will never use again nor ever recommend to anyone. Avoid at all cost's.

Moved into the area and was looking for a good Chinese. Read the reviews and thought give them a go. I have ordered from them a number of times, so not a knee -jerk decision. I can not recommend. Last 3 times the food was barely warm, despite turning up when they told me to. Twice I turned up, asked for my order then waited around - which is fine, but not when you find out you waited whilst your food was sitting on the side getting cold. Gave them one last chance tonight, ordered on-line which was a bit of a faff. Again turned up a few minutes early, after he found the order - waited around for 15 minutes and was handed luke warm food AGAIN. This time I challenged them to say this was cold, they said it was just cooked. That was a total lie. Gave up trying to get them to understand came home to a cold dinner. The food is not bad. Service is totally unacceptable and won't be long before someone gets food poisoning. Don't use.

Beware.. we ordered chicken and beef chow mien, but got shrimps in the chicken chow mien. Thankfully noticed before we tucked in. Allergy beware.

Good quality food have used this takeaway for years.

Delicious food and friendly service. Have eaten here many times and they're my favourite takeaway. The food is uniformly hot and cooked fresh, and there is a good variety of dishes. In particular I have found the oyster sauce beef, king prawn egg foo yung and house special curry very tasty.

Without a doubt the best Chinese in Uckfield.

I hardly ever bother to write reviews but this food was so poor that I felt compelled to warn other diners. We normally have a take away about twice a month but it was a Monday night and our kitchen was upside down after having work done and our favourite Chinese takeaway was closed, we didn't bother reading the reviews which was a mistake as the food (and here I'm being polite) at Canton was virtually inedible, the best item we had was the pancake rolls, a but given the uniformity of their construction, they had obviously been bought in. Chicken balls were stodgy & doughy and the chop suey & chow mein were vinegary. Please do your homework before ordering from this restaurant, I wish that we had! Julie

TERRIBLE, pancake rolls supermarket fare, chicken balls were doughy and stodgy, as for the chow mein and chop suey don't even go there. Final nail was even though the take away cost £26 we didn't even get any prawn crackers for the dog!!! If I could have given them no stars I would have!!

Food was good but busy at peak times, had to wait 10-15 mins even though order was rung through and I arrived on time.

Too much baboo shoot in the menu.

Use to have Canton at lease once/twice a mth but after I've read their food standard are so poor then I dont want to go anymore. 2 stars are v poor hygiene hope they will improve otherwise it's another Chinese take away to be gone in Uckfield. :(

Fantastic takeaway. Does delivery in the area Monday to Thursday. Always good food.

A real shame as was told it's a fab takeaway. Crispy Chilli beef was pure mush, chicken balls soggy and mushy on inside, satay sauce was bland and looked like someone had sucked it up, chicken in satay sauce had no flavour. All good need heating up. Prawn crackers and chicken rice was nice tho.

We had 14 family members over and the food was good and hot.

Paid for food chow mein £6.20 salt and pepper chips £ 2.50! £1.50 added to biĺl? When asked that was for salt and pepper on chips? Really!

Good choice, always cooked perfectly.

Best Chinese around in my opinion if a Saturday night need to call when they open and order in advance for what time as usually really mega on the phone for a reason.
