Carson’s Cafe Bar in County Durham

We went to this restaurant for a lunchtime pizza and a couple of drinks.The pizza when it came was beautiful with three chosen toppings on a thin crispy base.The beer was nice and cold and the atmosphere relaxed on new years day. The service was prompt and friendly and we shall return again this year.

Called in for a cuppa but was drawn to the cakes. Chocolate cake was amazing and my friend was very pleased with the toasted tea cake. Friendly atmosphere I've never been disappointed here, looking forward to my next visit.

Visited on a busy afternoon and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. Lattes were lovely and hot. We ordered a brunch burrito and really enjoyed it.

When I went in I was ignored buy The owner I assume as I've seen her with a dog before called Carson, a lady in her 50s with long hair, we stood in an empty restaurant for around 10 minutes see photo with staff looking at us and not greeting us, food is okay. Also to note I previously tried to come in to this restaurant, and was told I'd have to leave as there was no table, even though there were 4 tables available, this was by the same lady.

Really disappointing. I had ice in my tacos. I have done a lot of brunches in my time, and a £45 price point is far too expensive for the offering. For example, Ebony Champagne Bar in central Durham charges £40. You aren't supplied with a drinks menu, which leads to confusion.

Friendly welcome, good choice of tasty food. It's becoming a regulator occurrence! Today was a jacket spud with coronation chicken, and a vanilla cheesecake to follow. I've previously had the carbonara and Whitby scampi - both excellent.

Fabulous service from Chloe and the rest of the team for our Bottomless Brunch on Saturday. Delicious food and constant refills of Prosecco. We will definitely be back x

Another lovely meal and this cafe bar restaurant, this is our second time and it won’t be the last. The pizzas and pastas are delicious and the selection of Tapas is well worth trying.

Stopped in after work by myself to grab a quick drink as I was intrigued by the festive decorations on display at the front entrance. It was very warm and cosy. The atmosphere was super friendly and relaxed and there were plenty spaces to sit down, which is rare to find on a Highstreet given it was a Friday evening. My drink (Pint of Moretti) was cold and fresh. (Just what’s needed on a Friday!) I will recommend to others! This is the most charming spot in Chester-le-Street for romantic dates, solo visits or social gatherings. I will be back!

We went to this restaurant for an evening meal and it was fantastic.We booked a table and ordered drinks before choosing meals off the menu.We all had starters and main courses and were all beautiful.I had tempura veg as a starter and a full chicken breast as a main course with onion rings as a side order - proper chips!!Highly recommend a visit especially if you like tapas dishes as they have quite a few. We shall return.

Great ambience, staff and food. Shared pizzas and tapas. Everything was lovely. Best place in Chester.

It was fabulous, it always is and they have the best staff. So patient and friendly. The portions are generous we struggled to finish our meals,and as anyone who has been here will know the decor is fantastic.

Had a lovely meal and evening here. It is perfect to catch up with friends or have s chilled out meal. Good was excellent and the service was great. The young man who served our table was lovely and nothing was a trouble for him. Atmosphere is always nice and love the music

We booked in advance and were told tapas were available at lunchtime. On arrival another waitress told us "If I had taken your booking I would have said No" She did not look at all happy. Some things were not available and the service was not welcoming or friendly at all. The food was ok. We were planning on having dessert but just wanted to get out. Will not be going back.

My favourite place to go when visiting family, lost count of the times I’ve been, absolutely love the bottomless brunches and cocktails and the decor is fab, 5⭐️

Bad place The staff is impolite to the customers. Never will go to this place again. The worst place for kids.

Omg best boozy tapas ever. Tapas is amazing. Top ups were constant. Sooo drunk!! Andrea and her daughter are lovely justndon't ask for water haha

Really enjoyed our cocktails and tapas here. Especially loved the olives and chorizo/halloumi sticks. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Lovely food, good service and nice atmosphere. We had a pizza and some Tapas all of which was delicious. My only criticism would be they only have one type of larger.
