The Cavendish, woz an amazing place to stay, Upon arrival, greeted extremely friendly, its a VERY VERY HOMELY environment, The Room had everything U needed, en-suite was a real bonus, Food woz Fantastic, esp. The Steak and Ale pie.Decent price aswell, for where it is located, Would definitely visit again.

Quirky hotel, nothing level, doors, floors etc, gave the feeling you were stepping back in time, great! Breakfast, more or less anything you wanted, superb! We had, abundance of refreshments in our room, coffee, tea, all made from fresh coffee grains and tea leaves!

We rarely choose to go to a pub for Sunday lunch as we're so often disappointed. No fear here - beautiful meat cooked perfectly, pillowy Yorkshire pubs, great attention to detail paid to every veg on the plate. Cracking pint, lovely wine, friendly and efficient staff. A top 5 Sunday pub roast for us. Excellent.

The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was decent. However, the chairs were extremely uncomfortable, which detracted from the experience. The food was quite average; I had the chicken and gnocchi, which was dry and just okay. Given the prices, the food should be outstanding, but it was merely passable. On a positive note, the chips were fantastic! The restaurant attracts a lot of tourists, but to encourage repeat visits, they need to address the uncomfortable seating and rethink the menu. A simpler, tastier approach would be much appreciated.

Had a lovely roast dinner here. Large portions so no room for dessert. Good food and service what's not to love.

Had the steak pie. Was ok... not a full pie, pastry lid. Very heavy on the sage. Large portion of red cabbage to fill the plate as pie not that big.. hand cut chips beautifully cooked . £22 a bit steep. Service pleasant enough ...think we had a newbie but was a lovely lass

My boyfriend and I ate here whilst staying up the road in Upper Crumble Cottages. The food was amazing. Honestly, hands down, the BEST pie I’ve ever had. Steak and ale, shortcrust of course. Wow. Service impeccable. Ambience lovely. Friendly locals. Fire. Dogs. What’s more to ask for? We have booked to go back for Sunday roast ☺️

Our daughter likes this cafe so much that we did a 100 mile round trip for her birthday lunch today. The crepes are huge and a very wide gluten free range of food. Might not be the cheapest cafe but the quality is worth it in our opinion.
