Food was terrible chicken was full of bones owner was rude and inpatient would not go and or recommend and to add insult to injury they was a big Chelsea flag

I’m absolutely appalled. I read reviews before ordering so I knew it was going to be a hit or a miss. so I took the risk and hoped for some lovely food! For starters I never received my patty, my rice was clumpy and PLEASE TELL ME WHY THERE WAS A CHICKEN BONE IN MY RICE AND PEAS AND TO TOP IT OFF NO CHICKEN WAS ORDERED. Completely put off my food and will not eat the rest, will not be ordering again! The curry mutton also had a minty taste?

Amazing food and the brother is so nice Quality

We went there yesterday to get some lunch. Although we were seen we were ignored. My friend asked if he was serving. The reply was “ I am doing something, when I am done I will come”. Due to his tone I said to my friend let’s go. She said “.he is coming”. She asked him if he had any soup. He responded “no!”. I was already out of the door due to his rudeness and tone of voice. First time in that place and last! We went on the The Chequers Pub. Amazing food and staff. The rum punch and Guinness punch is second to none. The oxtail soup was delicious. So Mr Rude done us a massive favour!!!!!!

The food here did not disappoint. I ordered brown stew chicken with white rice, dumplings and i had a patty. I can’t fault anything i’ve eaten. Food was warm and tasted very fresh considering i came near closing time. The dumplings were probably the best dumplings i’ve had! The customer service was really good as well, would highly recommend this place, very friendly and welcoming and food was delicious. Would be recommending this place to friends family!

First time ordering and won’t be returning. The chicken pieces in the curry chicken were pink - I’m so glad I pulled them apart after I tasted it and thought it didn’t taste right. The coleslaw was watery and had a peculiar taste also. Please be cautious when ordering.

The food was prob the worst I've had. To be honest, I believe the food was cooked at some point in the day (if not days before) and then warmed in the microwave. I had the oxtail and rice, and I feel they used a kilogram of salt on the food. The rice was probably warmed for all of 30 seconds, and the coleslaw was very watery. He asked what we wanted several times (even after writing down our order). Didn't order it, but the patty looked like it's been there a good while. I'd probably avoid this place. I'm not from the area, but I won't be coming back when I'm in the area.

Jerk Chicken had more bones than meat, Rice wasn't fresh & plantain took forever to make. Coleslaw reminded me of chutney. Big up the boss he's trying but needs to be quicker and have another staff

I felt peckish, so I decided to stop at Cecil’s corner to get a lamb patty yesterday. Worst patty I’ve had it was dry, crispy and the lamb inside was burnt and hard disappointed as there’s not many Jamaican shops around in Luton won’t be going back here to get any sort of food

Asked for jerk chicken and he gave me something completely different. Very minty. Food is bad everytime I go apart from the pattys. Only go to get my protein in. Slow service

Dined here recently with the cousinsand what can I say its a step into island flavour, the food was absolutely exquisite and hits the soul, the owner was real friendly and even offered me a secret batch of sliced scotch bonnets. A friendly little dive in the community and the flavours are great, ideal for seasoned eaters and also a great place to introduce someone to carribean food, I recommend the half chicken curry, half stewed chicken, rice & peas, coleslaw and a festival, thank me later.

He had nothing that was on the menu, i dont know why he even has a menu , tried to give me the wrong food , waited very long for a simple order, finally got the food and it was bland & stale, i had been craving a good Caribbean and was let down , threw it in a bin … what a waste

Rubbish cooked by non Jamaicans. Don't waste your money, if you're used to authentic Jamaican real food.

I normally don't leave reviews but this time I have to. the guy in the shop don't listen The person in front had to repeat his order About five times the services is slow And when I made my order he still got it wrong. then he try to par the food off on another customer I couldn't believe it. Ordered brown stew chicken, rice and peas, With salad and Plantain. tastes nothing like brown stew chicken, not authentic at all. All I can taste is mint and the same from my coleslaw it has mint init The rice was all stuck together and lumpy I don't know how it's acceptable to serve that food and call it Caribbean Plantain was spot on ( But not hard to fry a plantain) only reason why i'm not giving it a one star NEVER WILL I EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN

We bought takeaway for the whole family at the weekend from Cecil's Corner. Everyone had different dishes and everyone LOVED it. I would highly recommend the food here and we wish we lived closer so we could go back every weekend!

The man moves at the pace of a snail. Extremely slow service even when the shop is empty.

I went to the family funday today at chaul end community centre and there was a Cecil's corner food cart. I had a curry goat meal and my husband had a jerk chicken meal plus I brought some dumplings. The food was so tasty me and my husband really enjoyed it. The dumplings were soft and tasty lovely. The lady that served me was so lovely. We will definitely be getting food from here again and if you want halal carribean food this place I would definitely recommend you try. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for the lovely food.

The curry goat was melt in the mouth, great service, the wait time was ample. The ackee and salt fish was cooked to order and just needed a little more heat and flavour for my palette. The jerk chicken needed more green seasoning for my taste. Overall not bad

Walked in as they were the only local carribean shop selling wings. Waited 40 minutes for 6 wings and didn't even get them LOL. Every-time I'd ask how long left, I was dismissed as he was attending to other orders. His friends walked in and out the shop with food whilst I sat there waiting excessively long for 6 wings! Eventually I had to leave with no food, and went to vintage across the road paying a lot more for jerk chicken and rice - which I should have done in the first place as it was completely worth it. On a second occasion my uncle had bought Caribbean over to the house. I asked him where it was from he said Cecil's corner. The food was horrible and on explaining to the family my previous experience, we have all decided we won't be buying from them again

Convinced all the positive reviews are his friends. Customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. A lot of better Caribbean shops in Luton don't waste your time going here

Food arrived and was given someone else’s order. Actual order arrived all correct apart from one dish, ordered a fish dish and was given what i assume to be curry goat/mutton. Food was not authentic in the least. The curry had no curry in it at all, tasted like a stew mutton. The jerk chicken was wet with a tastless sauce and lacked spice. Only thing that was okay was the rice and peas. For the price i paid, i could’ve just saved money and cooked it all myself at home. Safe to say, will not be ordering again.

I don't do many reviews... But I felt the need to do this one. I was staying a few days in Luton and ended up coming here for lunch and dinner every day! Food is really fresh and tasty. The guy cooking is a really nice person and you can see, and taste, that he puts a lot of care and love in what he does. I would give 10 stars if possible. Keep it up 🙂💪

I fancied something homely to eat and I came across Cecil’s Corner on a food delivery app. I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered Curried goat, jerk chicken, ackee and salt fish, rice and peas, Mac n cheese, boneless grilled fish, plantain and a variety of dumplings. The food was nicely seasoned - not too spicy (I love spice so would add pepper sauce!). Definitely a friendly place for someone new to Caribbean food flavours. The portion sizes are decent - the dumplings are a good size and excellent value. My only down points are that the mac and cheese wasn’t quite cheesy enough for me and was large spiral pasta instead of small macaroni and the plantain wasn’t “crispy” but that’s just a personal preference 😊 Full of flavour though and will order again!

I went to Cecil's Corner tonight for the first time but, it certainly wont be the last. I came across this shop on the ‘too good to go’ app. The customer service was great a nice friendly service. I was given curry chicken with rice and peas and the food was flavourful and plenty. I am happy to have supported a dual cause of a black owned shop as well as preventing food wastage. Hats off to Cecil’s Corner for joining such a good movement. Why throw food away when you can sell it discounted at the end of the day.

The food is great, service is great, had a chat with Cecil today he's a hard working man. Deserves you to go and try his delicious food. 5* easy.

Small place. Lovely food and decent pricing. On-street parking available.

Unfortunately this place is one to avoid. The staff is so terribly rude that they do not understand simple manners. The music is so loud in there, one would be confused for being in a social club so one tip would be, turn your music down so your staff can hear your customers and if your staff need to be sent on courses to improve customer service then that may be an even better idea. Avoid this place and try somewhere else out and save yourself the time. If I am the customer, and I am asking for a certain item of the menu and trying to ask more questions in regards the menu as I am not aware of what the item was, the staff does not need to make nasty faces and talk down to me, I don’t have to eat at this shop there are hundreds more in Luton. An absolute shambles of a shop and doesn’t deserve more than one star.

Excellent food, just the right level of spice. Really good portion, almost one and a half meals so great value. Bloke serving (Cecil?) was a good bloke and I look forward to ordering again 😎

I have been there twice and on both occasions the food was good and of great value for money. However, I feel the customer service could be better.

The food was a good portion size and tasty. I ordered through the Too Good To Go app and should have recieved an order worth £12 but in reality it was worth £8. Chicken and rice. Still giving a high rating because the man sure knows how to cook a tasty meal.

This shop is on a app called togoodtogo They are ment to sell a magic bag (£4) with food in that is going to waste, I done this for the first time today and its very disappointing I got rice.and chicken, this is ment to help people in need all we got was one meal and was charged the same as they do anyways. The guy blamed the app for getting wrong, even tho he put his shop on there

Listen. This whole meal? Had me shaking my head but no one had asked me nothing. Listen, took a mouthful of rice and peas? Was sent back to my grandmother's dining room table. I heard my granddad laughing at some eediat falling on You Been Framed. The stewed chicken? Listen, it made itself at home, poured itself a drink and settled in to watch Netflix with me, it was so comfortable. Nah, listen, I beg you please cuz my world was rocked for no reason. The banana cake had me questioning the theory of relativity. Since finishing my meal I've just been staring out my window at the rain, wondering if I'll be hungry again before they close.

Best food I ever ate in Luton. I try a couple of things and everything is nice! The owner is a very kind and a warm person, really enjoy to pop in and buy food from time to time. Like I said best food in town, my favourite food from the menu is goat curry and the chicken curry!
